02-04-22 | Oakland -3 v. Northern Kentucky | 78-87 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 59 m | Show
DMack's Horizon League Super Play winner is on the Oakland Grizzlies The (11-9, 7-4) Norse have won five straight but that's been more a product of convenient scheduling that anything team related. The Norse are young and have played the 345th toughest schedule in Div-I. Oakland (16-5, 10-1) are young but play great defense and get to the fould line where they score more than 20% of their points. Supremely coached by Greg Kampe who has 658 wins with the school, the Grizz are always a handful versus their own kind. Oakland 66-57. |
02-04-22 | Miami-OH v. Akron -7 | 55-66 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
DMack's Friday Night Big MAC Attack winner is on the Akron Zips Miami, Ohio is just not very good. It's a veteran team but the Redhawks are 2-6 in L8 and 2-8 L10 vs. teams ranked in the Top 200. The Zips are young but win close games and are a perfect 9-0 versus teams outside the Top 200 (Maimi, Oh No.228). The Zips have won the last five in the series and the last two on this floor by double-digits. Akron 80-67. |
02-03-22 | Lakers v. Clippers -2.5 | 110-111 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 21 m | Show
DMACK'S LAKERS/CLIPPERS NBA THURS NIGHT SLAM DUNK winner is on the Clippers A half game separates these two from the eight spot in the West. The Lakers escaped Portland last night behind the Unibrow's 30-15 but faces a well rested (3 days) Clipper team that returns home after a successful 3-2 East Coast swing. This is a game the Clippers absolutely have to have with the Buck home on deck and then another road gauntlet that features at Memphis, at Dallas, at Dallas (yeah twice), then home to Phoenix and Golden State. The Clippers can't get buried here with the cavalry back shortly. |
02-03-22 | Boise State +1.5 v. Wyoming | 65-72 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 45 m | Show
DMack's Mountain West Bail Out winner is on the Boise State Broncos Boise just might be one of the better teams that you haven't seen or heard about. The Broncos are 17-4 and a perfect 8-0 in conference. Boise is a veteran outfit and started the year 36th i the country in terms of game starts. That carried them through the first meeting that saw Boise win at home by three with a 7-2 run down the stretch. The homestanding Cowboys are young and good with that three-point loss their only conference defeat on the year. Wyoming was down big but came back to beat Colorado State in OT in their most recent. Legs could be in play here but regardless, like Boise to figure it out and finish. Boise State 68-62. |
02-03-22 | St. John's -4.5 v. Georgetown | 90-77 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show
DMack's Early Big East Bankroll Builder is on the St John's Red Storm It's almost sad to see Georgetown in this state under Patrick Ewing. The Hoyas have lost nine straight and are just 1-8 vs. the Ken Palm Top 100. The Johnnies still run and gun, playing at the fourth fastest tempo in the country but their attention to detail is not as strong on the defensive end. St John's won the first go around by 19 in Queens and it's hard to see the Red Storm not winning by double-digits on the run back. St John's 76-65. |
02-02-22 | Villanova -4.5 v. Marquette | 73-83 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S NOVA/MARQUETTE BAILOUT SPECIAL winner is on the Villanova Wildcats Very little separates these two teams but Villanova will be salty and loaded for bear here. The Cats have won four straight on the road, all by four or more points, two by double-digits. Marquette won at Philly in early January in a game that saw Nova up nine with 10 minutes left to play. The Wildcats play eight players and don't use the bench much so these are tried and true veteran players. Marquette started the year with the No.349th most experienced team out of 358 division teams so Shaka is doing a great job with a young team that has played the No.9 toughest schedule. Big East home faves of six or less are 4-8 ATS and though we don't put much credence in "revenge" per se. fully expect that Jay Wright will have his team ready to play. |
02-01-22 | Warriors -2 v. Spurs | 124-120 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Golden State Warriors Going to go out on a limb here and say that Steph will play tonight after going for 40 last night vs. Houston. In recent days, Steph has not played back-to-backs in minutes management move but Golden State is on a roll with six straight wins and Steph seemingly shot himself out of the worst shooting slump of his career and the Warriors have just one game in the next six days. The Spurs are 19-32 but seemingly play just well enough to lose. Golden State wins this by 10. |
02-01-22 | Michigan State -3.5 v. Maryland | 65-63 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 17 m | Show
MACK ATTACK TUESDAY BIG TEN SUPER PLAY winner in the Michigan State Terps Maryland has its moments but at the end of the day, the Terps are a bottom third of the table Big Ten team. Bill Parcells used to say that you are what your record says you are and the 2-7 Big Ten Maryland team that has lost its last three conference games by double-digits is pedestrian at best. This Michigan State team is one of Izzo's best and rebounded from loss at Illinois by hammering Big Brother (Michigan) in Lansing and has two more lay downs prior to Indiana and Wisconsin at home. Very manageable number here and the Spartans take care of business. No need to fear the turtle here. |
01-31-22 | Colorado State v. Wyoming +1 | 78-84 | Win | 100 | 18 h 11 m | Show
DMACK'S MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE GAME OF THE WEEK winner is the Wyoming Cowboys. Colorado State is somewhat counterfeit in my opinion. Their 16-2 record is against a muffin schedule and their two losses are by 25 to Duke and by 15 to San Diego State. Wyoming is probably the best team you haven't seen or heard about. The Cowboys are a perfect 8-0 in Laramie this year which has traditionally been a tough place to play. Wyoming is for real and they've proven it home (8-0) and on the road which is telling. |
01-30-22 | Mavs -5.5 v. Magic | 108-110 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 54 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NBA SLAM DUNK winner is on the Dallas Mavericks Mavericks are looking like a team that should have a big second half. They'll probably be missing Porzingis here with a sore knee but he should be back by mid-week with six straight home games to start February. Luka has taken his time rounding into shape and has not been overtaxed with minutes so his best is yet to come. The Magic are 10-40 and have run down the Pistons for the worst record in the NBA. They are 30th in point differential, being outscored by better than 8.2 ppg. and that's not a goog thing against a deep Maverick team with a long and productive bench. Call this 107-89 Dallas. |
01-30-22 | 49ers +3.5 v. Rams | 17-20 | Win | 100 | 83 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SUPER PLAY WINNER is on the San Francisco 49ers The 49ers have beaten the Rams six straight times. How ??? By running the football and Jimmy G not killing his team with that "wait, it's coming" crucial turnover. One of these two teams is going to it's second Super Bowl in five years. Will it be Jimmy G and his 303 yards passing, 0/2 ints, and 63 QBR or long suffering Mathew Stafford who spent his first 12 years with the lines but 535 yards, 4/0, 76% completions and 131 QBR. We'll step out on a limb and say San Francisco who has run the ball for almost 8.0 yards a carry versus the Rams this year and keep high octane Ram offense off the field playing defense and offense and taking advantage of some opportunistic Los Angeles mistakes. 49ers 23-20. |
01-29-22 | Wizards v. Grizzlies -5.5 | 95-115 | Win | 100 | 20 h 18 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NBA SLAM DUNK winner is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Wiz had a big first month of the season but have really come back to the field and are now 10th in the East and would miss the playoffs if they started tomorrow. The 34-17 Grizz have emerged as a player in the ultra-competitive West with JA Morant leading the way and getting solid play from an player deep bench. Dillon Brooks is still out with an ankle injury but the Grizz have more than enough scoring and a big, physical, rugged front court to do the dirty work. This is a very fair and doable number and in my eyes, Memphis is the top play on the NBA board. |
01-29-22 | Santa Clara v. San Francisco -7.5 | 85-88 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 49 m | Show
DMack's Free Play for Saturday, January 29, 2022 is on the San Francisco Dons These are two pretty evenly matched teams out of the West Coast Conference. They are both basically support staff for Gonzaga, St Marys, and BYU but have their moments. Santa Clara is decent, plays solid defense, but has no depth. San Francisco is young but very big and very physical. The Dons pound the ball down inside and are shooting 55.7% inside the arc. San Fran is 11-2 and will be in an especially bad mood after losing to St Mary's Thursday in a game they were up by 23. San Francisco has won four of five in the series overall and 6-1 L7 vs. Broncs on this floor. Dons roll. |
01-29-22 | Connecticut -8.5 v. DePaul | 57-50 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY BIG EAST BIG BALLER winner is on the UConn Huskies UConn is very good and I think we'll see more of that down the line in tournament play and March Madness. The Huskies throttle teams like DePaul. In fact, UConn has won last three by 17 (Butler), 19 (Butler), and 23 (Georgetown). The Demons are 1-8 in the Big East to this point and I would need to be getting 13-15 to even take a look. UConn by 20. |
01-29-22 | Yale v. Princeton -3.5 | 80-74 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S IVY LEAGUE GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Princeton Tigers Princeton has won 10 straight and is just rolling through the Ivy League. The Tigers are 15-3 this year and have not been beaten on their home floor. Yale is second best of the "You'll work for us later" but the Elis are just 9-9 and 2-5 on the road. No substantial points here. Call this one Princeton 72-63. |
01-29-22 | Baylor -3 v. Alabama | 78-87 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG 12/SEC CHALLENGE SUPER PLAY winner is on the Baylor Bears Bama has played the toughest schedule in the country to this point so 13-7 isn't a true indicator of how good the Tide is. That said, Bama just 2-4 last six in the night in and night out rigrs of the SEC. Baylor is still the champs and the Bears two losses have strangely come in home games. Baylor plays great defense, top rebounding, scores enough, and supremely coached. Bears stay undefeated on the road with 10 point win. |
01-28-22 | Cleveland State +2 v. Wright State | 71-67 | Win | 100 | 13 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S HORIZON LEAGUE GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Cleveland State Vikings Absolutely wrong favorite here. Wright State is as counterfeit as they come and the Raiders have no bench and are 11-9 playing the No.338 toughest schedule in the country. Cleveland State is the real deal! The Vikes are the second most experienced team in the country, win close games, and are a Horizon conference team that is 13-4 playing the No.27 ranked schedule in the country. The Vikings have played a number of very good teams on the road and have won or been right there against several very good Power 5 teams. Calling for Cleveland State to win this by double-digits. |
01-28-22 | Bulls -1.5 v. Spurs | 122-131 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 54 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NBA BANKROLL BUILDER winner is on the Chicago Bulls Chicago has been tip-toeing through the hand grenades (injuries) but have managed to stay at or near the top of the East without much trouble, primarily by feasting on teams they should beat. San Antonio is a team that you have to beat and the Spurs fit the bill here. The Spurs just don't have the talent to compete at this point and are several pieces away. The Bulls have one if the strongest group of role players in the league and that's what gets them through in games like this and in this case, we're basically asking the Bulls to win. |
01-27-22 | Weber State +1.5 v. Northern Colorado | 85-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Weber State Weber State is a good up and down team against their own kind and are averaging 87 ppg in their last four Big Sky games. Northern Colorado plays no perimeter defense and has been burned by the three all year. The Wildcats make amends here losing last two visits to Greely. Wrong favorite here. |
01-27-22 | Troy State +6.5 v. South Alabama | 63-82 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 34 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Troy State Too many points to give to a Troy team that comes at you in wave and plays excellent defense. South Alabama basically plays seven players and also plays very good defense. Just can't pass 6+ points in a game that figure to play into the 50s or low 60s. |
01-27-22 | Loyola-Chicago -6 v. Southern Illinois | 44-39 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 32 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Loyola Chicago This is basically a home-and-home with Loyola winning the front end 59-47 at home on Tuesday. The Ramblers are shhoting better than 57% inside the arc and allowing just 56 ppg. in their true road games. The Salukis just don't have the fire power to keep up here. Loyola by 12-15. |
01-26-22 | San Diego State -2 v. Utah State | 57-75 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 23 m | Show
MACK ATTACK MOUNTAIN WEST GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on San Diego State Utah State has had a nightmare season losing its last four games by seven points or less. The Aggies beat Oklahoma early which fooled many including myself that this team would be something but a 2-7 record vs. Top 100 opposition speaks for itself. Their only real advantage here is that Logan is such a pain in the ass to get to. San Diego State is typical Aztec basketball and rocks the No.1 FG% defense in the country while grinding you down on offense. SDSU just crushed a decent UNLV team for the second time and meets a similar stylistic team to themselves that does it half as well. Mountain West road faves of -5 or less are 8-3 ATS. San Diego State is your winner. |
01-26-22 | Grizzlies -3.5 v. Spurs | 118-110 | Win | 100 | 14 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Spurs have their moments but not many, they're just not very good, do not have a lot of talent and Pop and prayers have not turned things around. The Grizz are going to be VERY good for a long long time led by Ja Morant and their current run in no joke. Memphis is 15-8 on the road and just comes at you in waves. Memphis spanked San Antonio 118-105 on New Years Eve and expect similar result here as Spurs are equally inept at home where they are 9-15. Lay it. |
01-26-22 | Kings v. Hawks -7.5 | 104-121 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Atlanta Hawks Two teams headed in opposite directions. The Kings look like they've quit despite coaching change and were beaten by 53 (again, no joke) at Boston last night. De'Aaron Fox sat with sore ankle and will likely be out here. Hawks have flicked the switch at exactly the right time winning four straight to put them within a sniff of a backend playoff spot. Hotlanta has underachieved all year and to see them go on a run against bottom feeders would be no surprise here. Atlanta wins this one in a walk .... call it 118-104. |
01-26-22 | Clippers -1 v. Magic | 111-102 | Win | 100 | 12 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the LA Clippers The same conventional wisdom that says play against the Clippers or pass in this spot is exactly why they should be a play here against the Orlando Magic. This is the second of B2B with travel for an undermanned Clipper team that came from 30 down at half (no joke) to win at the Wiz last night as the Clips try to saty in the hunt for the playoffs. Next ma up has worked well of late and the bench was great last night with everyone pitching in. Morris likely back here and Orlando is a nightmare of epic proportions at 9-39 overall and 3-17 at the O-rena. Can't see Clippers letting big win go to waste with a no show here. |
01-26-22 | Creighton -4.5 v. Butler | 55-72 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS APPETIZER winner is the Creighton Blue Jays We've made a lot of moeny fading Butler against better teams as the Bulldogs are a far cry from the Brad Stevens teams of a decade ago and can't score. In fact, they shoot 27% from downtown while allowing their opponents a robust 57% from inside the arc. Five of six of Butler's Big East losses are by double digits. The Blue Jays are young this year, don't use much bench and are just starting to figure things out. They are shooting 55% inside the arc and have score 80 in three of their last four wins, not hitting the mark in a 60-49 win over walk it up DePaul. Creighton rolls here winning by double-digits. |
01-25-22 | Arizona -2.5 v. UCLA | 59-75 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S ARIZONA/UCLA BAIL OUT SUPER PLAY winner is on the Arizona Wildcats Arizona is very good and the Cats only loss was 77-73 at No.12 Tennessee early on. Since then, they've walked through everyone and their three Pac12 road wins are by 25-28-25 points. The exepectations level for UCLA was much too high coming into the season. If you really examine last year, UCLA was not going to make the tournament but caught fire in the Pac12 tournament and March Madness taking them to the Final Four. Getting blown out by Gonzage early is no big deal but loss to Oregon and hard fought wins over the likes of Cal are extremely telling. Could actually see Arizon going to 4-5 here. The best number is out of the barn but this one might not be that close. Arizona 84-75. |
01-25-22 | Michigan State +5.5 v. Illinois | 55-56 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NIGHT COLLEGE HOOPS DOG BITE winner is on the Michigan State Spartans Sparty is on a role for Izzo winning 10 of its L11 games. Typical Izzo with a scrappy interior defense and strong rebounding but this team can shoot, knocking down 39.8% of their shots from beyond the arc. Illinois is very good and will have the best player of the floor in Cockburn (check status, game time decision at this writing) but is 7-5 against Top 100 opposition. Both teams have played tough schedules (No.16 and No.18) and will be that much better for it down the line but Michigan State has also had the Illini's number winning five of the last six in the series and four of the last six in Champaign. Just two many points in a game that be decided in the final 30 seconds. Take Michigan State. |
01-24-22 | Weber State +2.5 v. Southern Utah | 92-84 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS BIG SKY GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on Weber State Former UNLV interim Todd Simon has done a tremendous job with Southern Utah, developing the Thunderbirds into one of the better teams in the Big Sky in just a few short years. That said, the T-Birds have struggled against Weber State. The (13-5, 6-1) Wildcats are a young, athletic, up-and-down team that has win three straight while averaging 85.7 ppg in the process. Weber shoots 55% inside the arc generates 21.4% of their points from the foul line, 24th best in the country. Weber is 8-2 L10 in the series and 5-2 in their L7 games in Cedar City. Weber State wins straight up by 6-8 points. |
01-23-22 | Panthers -1.5 v. Seattle Kraken | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 33 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE PICK is on the Florida Panthers on the Puck Line The Kraken are 2-7-1 in their L10 and burying themselves deeper and deeper into the bottom of the Pacific Division. The Panthers are a scoring machine and their 167 goals and +50 goal differential both lead the NHL. The Panthers have the goaltending to do it anyway you want to do it. Using the puck line here to mitigate any possible chance that the Florida offense is not hitting on all cylinders. |
01-23-22 | 76ers -1 v. Spurs | 115-109 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Philadelphia 76ers Philly is a bit short-handed but the end is sight mid-week. The Sixers are 7-3 L10 and have done their best work on the road all year. San Antonio is 3-7 L10 and have their moments from time but even Pop can't make up for little talent and not much chemistry. Not sure waht happens from here for the Spurs but they figure to make some moves before the Feb 10th trade deadline and every little bit will help. At this point, Spurs are a .400 basketball team. |
01-23-22 | Bills +2 v. Chiefs | 36-42 | Loss | -110 | 42 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S BILLS/CHIEFS DIVISION ROUND SUPER PLAY winner is on the Buffalo Bills The best game of the round was saved for last as it should be. Buffalo won it's last five games going 4-0-1 ATS and Kansas City went 10-1 L11 and 7-2 ATS L9. The teams met in October when the Chiefs were in their famous funk and the Bill left Arrowhead with a 38-20 win as Josh Allen threw for 315 yards. Hard to sat where both teams are but can tell you that teams that won ten regular season games by 12+ points (like the Bills) has happened seven times, the last was Tampa Bay in 2002. All seven teams WON the Super Bowl and while that's a bold call in the conference semis, it's as good as any the call a winner here. Weather will supposedly be mild so this one figures to be a shootout. |
01-23-22 | St. Peter's -1.5 v. Canisius | 60-63 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is on the St Peter's Peacocks Canisius is just 6-12 (2-5) against the No.222 ranked schedule in the country and has lost three of four. The Golden Griffs are the epitome of the matador defenses allowing opponents 56.6% makes inside the arc. Further, MAAC home teams of -3 or less are just 5-9 on the year. St Pete's is 7-6 (5-1) and has won four straight allowing 59.5 ppg. They force turnovers 24.7% of the time. The Peacocks have won despite not shooting well and if they can't get that rectified here, they probably never will. |
01-22-22 | 49ers +6 v. Packers | 13-10 | Win | 100 | 22 h 44 m | Show
DMack's Division Round Game of the Year winner is on the San Francisco 49ers The Packers have gotten all the Aaron Rodgers love this week but the fact remains that this guy has won just one Super Bowl and is 7-6 in his L13 games at Lambeau Field. He has plenty of weapons but consider this .... most of the 49ers defense will play and that San Francisco can play defense on offense keeping the Packers off the field. How ??? By running the football like they did last week against the Rams. The Packs played one team in the last 10 games with any semblance of a rushing attack and the Browns shredded them for better than eight yards per carry. If the 49ers can establish a running game and they most certainly can, Jimmy G can get away with throwing just 10-15 times which makes him all the more effective. San Fran straight up. |
01-22-22 | Thunder v. Cavs -12.5 | 87-94 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 16 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Cleveland Cavaliers Don't look now but the Cavaliers are two games in the win column behind Milwaukee for the final home court in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Cavs are a young, talented, and well rounded team that is close to being a real threat to win the East. OKC has lost four straight including a five-point decision to these Cavs last weekend. It won't be that close this time. |
01-22-22 | Kentucky v. Auburn -3.5 | 71-80 | Win | 100 | 5 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S KENTUCKY/AUBURN SEC BIG TICKET winner is the Auburn Tigers This is a terrific matchup between two teams that have big chances to make the Elite Eight and or the Final Four. Kentucky has won four straight while averaging 85 ppg. with one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. Auburn has won 14 straight games and the Tigers only loss is a 2X OT loss to a very good UConn team on a neutral floor. The Tigers are a slick outfit and very very good at home and that's the difference. UK is 2-2 in true road games and won't roll over this team. The number is very fair and fully expect to Auburn to extend late for an 8-10 point win. |
01-21-22 | Nets -1.5 v. Spurs | 117-102 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA FRIDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Brooklyn Nets This is game six of a seven game homestand for the Spurs who are 2-3 in their five previous games and 3-7 in their L10 overall. The Nets have been plagued with injuries but have are still 28-16 and doing their best work on the road where they're 16-5. Help is on the way for the Nets in the very near future, not Kevin Durant but several key role players that should put the Nets right if they are at full strength heading into the playoffs. Brooklyn by double-digits. |
01-21-22 | Toledo +4.5 v. Ohio | 87-69 | Win | 100 | 8 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S TOLEDO/OHIO EARLY COLLEGE HOOP RIM ROCKER winner is on the Toledo Rockets Ohio has won nine straight games albeit against a soft (No.268) schedule. The Bobcats are very soft in the paint and that will nt be a good thing against a Rocket team that is averaging 85 ppg. over its last five games. Toledo (14-4, 6-1) has played a somewhat stronger schedule (No.225) but has shown it can win on the road, winning three straight roadies, two by 13+ points. Neither team uses any bench (No.351/No.334) and getting more than two buckets for the more athletic and fluid team. Toledo straight up. |
01-20-22 | Pacers v. Warriors -11.5 | 121-117 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 52 m | Show
DMack's NBA Play of the Day is on the Golden State Warriors The Pacers played last night and were extended in getting just their fourth (4-17) road win this year at the Lakers. Indy faces a Golden State team that has gone cold shooting (Steph included) and is just 5-5 in its L10 games and trying to get back on track. Splash City has the perfect mark here and the Pacers will also be playing without big man Myles Turner who is out a month with a foot injury and possibly Domantas Sabonis who's a game time decision with a bad ankle. |

01-20-22 | Connecticut -7.5 v. Butler | 75-56 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE BASKETBALL BIG BALLER is on the UConn Huskies This Butler outfit is a a far cry from the Brad Stevens teams of a decade ago. The Bulldogs are 2-5 in their L7 with all five losses by 15+ points and 1-8 in nine games vs. the Ken Palm Top 100. UConn is the real deal and play a stifling defense that is third in the country in defensive FG% inside the arc. The teams played three days ago with the Huskies winning by 17 points and are 3-0 all-time in Big East play with all three wins by 12+ points. Take UConn. |
01-19-22 | Grizzlies +6.5 v. Bucks | 114-126 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 0 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NIGHT NBA DOG BITE winner is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Grizz are 12-1 in their L13 games and have lost one since the day after Christmas. JA Morant has firmly established himself as a star and a legitimate MVP candidate. The Grizz overall are young, deep, hungry, and talented. The Bucks are treading water at 4-6 L10. Through the half way mark of the season the champs look like they'll be content to get through the season healthy, grab a first round home court, and then take their chances in a wide open Eastern Conference in the defense of their NBA championship. The Freak is playing well and Jrue Holiday will be back soon albeit at less than 100%. Too many points to give to a white-hot Memphis team that's having fun. |
01-19-22 | Mississippi State +6.5 v. Florida | 72-80 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB POWER 5 GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Mississippi State Bulldogs These are two middle of the road SEC that are headed in different directions. Mississippi State has won six of seven and looks to continue that momentum in just their second true road game. Florida is 4-6 L10, 1-3 L4, and 2-5 vs. teams inside the Ken Palm Top 100. The main difference between these two teams is that Mississippi State is No.11 in the country in offensive rebounding, snagging 36.7% of their misses while Florida is just the 269th best defensive rebounding team in the country .... not real conducive to covering a number like this. Mississippi State 68-65. |
01-18-22 | Utah State +3.5 v. Fresno State | 54-61 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 10 m | Show
MACK ATTACK LATE COLLEGE HOOPS BAILOUT winner is on the Utah State Aggies The Aggies are 10-7, the Bulldogs are 12-4 but .... Utah State's SOS in No.57 to this point, Fresno State checks in at No.195. Utah State is also No.68 in experience while Fresno State is No.197. Add to the mix that the Aggies have won the last six in the series and their last five trips to this floor. Wrong team favored here .... UTAH STATE CAN PLAY! Straight up! |
01-17-22 | Jazz -5.5 v. Lakers | 95-101 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 46 m | Show
DMack's Monday NBA Power Pack winner is on the Utah Jazz Used the Jazz last night and they won easily, leading Denver by double-digits most of the games, went cold at the end of the third quarter, and then outscored Denver 34-14 in the fourth quarter on their own floor. Lakers are nothing more than a 6-7-8 playoff seed if they do in fact get in and even Lebron can't save them the rest of the way as evidenced by their 37 point loss in their most recent game. Utah 125-110. |
01-17-22 | Suns -5 v. Spurs | 121-107 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
DMack's Monday NBA Power Pack winner is on the Phoenix Suns The Suns have the best record in the NBA and have just rolled through the first half of the schedule with the third best point differential in the league. The Suns have won three straight, the last two by 18 and 27 points. Phoenix wins by margin. The Spurs had a short run and have faded, going 2-8 L10. |
01-17-22 | Thunder v. Mavs -11.5 | 102-104 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 37 m | Show
DMack's Monday NBA Power Pack winner is on the Dallas Mavs The Thunder are 2-8 L10 and 6-14 on the road. OKC has some nice young pieces but are a couple of years from even being competitive in an ultra-competitive Western Conference. Dallas has won four of five and starting to round into form under Jason Kidd. The Mavs are 19-10 in the West and are now completely healthy according to the most recent injury report. Points are a premium for sure here but Dallas can name the score if they decide to put the hammer down. |
01-17-22 | Cardinals +4.5 v. Rams | 11-34 | Loss | -115 | 64 h 41 m | Show
DMACK'S CARDS/RAMS MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM winner is the Arizona Cardinals The Rams have won five of six but are just 16-17 ATS as a home fave under McVay and Stafford is 0-3 in his limited playoff experience and of course all three games came on the road. Arizona was decimated with injuries down the stretch but they've played their best on the road this year and won here 37-20 in Week Four, rushing the football for 216 yards. This is Kyler Murray's first playoff game but he's big game prepped and should be able to do some business here. Not having Hopkins in big but the Cards have enough other weapons to take care of business her. Cards straight up. |
01-17-22 | Pennsylvania v. Princeton -5 | 64-74 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB IVY LEAGUE GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Princeton Tigers This line is very fair despite the disparity in records and here's why. Penn is 6-11 (3-1 Ivy) but has faced the No.95 toughest schedule in the country. Princeton is 13-3 (3-0) facing the No.317 toughest schedule. Princeton has won seven straight D-I games, has the No.10 best defensive FG% defense in D-I, is on their own home court, and 6-0 vs. teams outside the Top 200 (Penn N0.218). The Tigers are also the 72nd most experienced team in the country vs. the #270 Quakers. Princeton will be at its best here. |
01-16-22 | Jazz -4.5 v. Nuggets | 125-102 | Win | 100 | 11 h 21 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NBA BIG BALLER winner is on the Utah Jazz The Jazz have inexplicably lost four straight to Eastern Conference weaklings. For the most part, Utah is healthy and Rudy Gobert is back to protect the rim. Against its own Western Conference, the Utah Jazz are a different animal, Utah is 9-0 in division and 18-4 in conference, the game prior to the current four game skid was a 7-point win against these same Nuggets on this same floor on January 5th. Denver played last night without expending much energy in crushing the Lakers by 37. Still, not the best of spots for a team that trails the Jazz by 5.5 games is the Northwest Division. |
01-16-22 | 49ers +3.5 v. Cowboys | 23-17 | Win | 100 | 102 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S NFL WILDCARD ROUND GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on the San Francisco 49ers Dallas has won and covered five of six but they were primarily against the NFC East in games that had little meaning. The Pokes were +10 in turnovers in those six games and poitive turnovers not likely here against a more disciplined San Fran outfit. Dallas is just 3-9 over its L12 playoff games. The 49ers kicked and scratched to get here and Jimmy G has had another week to get the web on his throwing hand in order. 49ers 4-1 SU and ATS L5 and have outgained their last four opponents by 100 yards. San Francisco straight up as out Wildcard Round Game of the Year. |
01-16-22 | Niagara v. Iona -10.5 | 55-78 | Win | 100 | 4 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS NOTHING BUT NET book buster winner is on the Iona Gaels MAAC home favorites are just 3-11 to this point but consider this. Niagara in 7-7 versus the No.246 toughest schedule in the country and is just 1-3 in four games played against the country's top 200. Iona is 13-3 (5-0 in the MAAC) against the No.130th toughest schedule and of course coached by Rick Pitino. The Purple Eagles are actually 5-3 L8 in the series and have won four straight on the Gael's home floor. Not on Pitino's watch. This is a statement game for Iona ..... 77-61 Gaels. |
01-15-22 | Bulls +5 v. Celtics | 112-114 | Win | 100 | 14 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NBA SLAM DUNK winner is on the Chicago Bulls There are a lot of teams playing the back ends of B2Bs tonight including the Bulls and the Celtics. The Bulls were humiliated at home, losing by 40 to Golden State after losing Zach LeVine to a knee injury early in the first quarter. He'll be out here and getting an MRI but the Bulls are as deep as any team in the NBA and the next man up has never been an issue for Billy Donovan. Getting at least three extra points here and still wouldn't be shocked if Chicago won straight up. |
01-15-22 | Oklahoma State +13.5 v. Baylor | 61-54 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY COLLEGE HOOPS DOG BITE winner is on the Oklahoma State Cowboys There is no doubt in my mind that Baylor is the best team in college basketball but the Bears are certainly more defensively gifted than they are putting the ball in the hole. We called for Texas Tech to beat them straight up during the week and they did, handing Baylor it's first loss of the year. Baylor does not win by margin and no Big 12 home favorites have going 0-5 ATS. Take Oklahoma State. |
01-15-22 | Raiders +5.5 v. Bengals | 19-26 | Loss | -110 | 79 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT RAIDERS/BENGALS NFL PLAYOFF SUPER PLAY winner is on the Raiders The Raiders have won four straight games by a grand total of 12 combined points. They've been very resilient and don't quit, are winning despite being -12 in turnovers their last five games, and thanks in large part to PK Daniel Carlson who would be All-NFL if Justin Tucker were not in the league. The Bengals have won the last three games Joe Burrow has played and he's thrown the ball all over the yard. Hard to get over the Bengals stigma that they are the Bengals and have not won a playoff game (8 straight losses) since 1990. In the end, just see Las Vegas keeping this one closes and kick deciding things in the end. Raiders 30-27. |
01-15-22 | NC State +14 v. Duke | 73-88 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 44 m | Show
DMACK's SATURDAY ACC SUPER PLAY winner is on the North Carolina State Wolfpack Two teams headed in opposite directions with the Pack losers of six of eight while the Blue Devila are on a 6-1 L7 run the other way but ..... State's last two wins came on the road at V Tech and Louisville and double-digit home favorites in the Power Five conferences have burned ticket after ticket, the ACC 1-5, the Big 12 0-5. We'll grab 14 here with a North Carolina State team that will come to play. |
01-14-22 | Celtics v. 76ers -3.5 | 99-111 | Win | 100 | 11 h 35 m | Show
DMack's Fri NBA Bankroll Builder is on the Philadelphia 76ers The Celtics are the Celtics and need to be blown up and just might pull the trigger late on some type of major deal before the February 10th trade deadline as the current situation is obviously not working. The 76ers on the other hand are 8-2 in their L10 and starting to play well. A Ben Simmons deal is reportedly imminent and to get that monkey off their back would be huge. Philly plays just their third game in seven days with Miami on deck so they are fresh and expected to be completely healthy tonight. No excuses 108-96. |
01-14-22 | Monmouth -5 v. St. Peter's | 62-67 | Loss | -118 | 10 h 21 m | Show
DMACK'S FRI COLLEGE HOOPS WEEKEND APPETIZER winner is on the Monmouth Hawks St Pete has not played in 27 days and even when they were playing, the Peacocks were 321 st in defensive field goal percentage and their two D-I wins were against the No.242 and No.245 teams in the country. Monmouth is 10-3 and that's having played nine true road games against the No.93 toughest schedule in the country. Monmouth is No.10 in experience, plays excellent defense and hasn't used much bench to this point. Enuff said, Monmouth wins by 10. |
01-13-22 | Canadiens v. Blackhawks -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 1 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Blackhawks Puck Line Fleury is 10-4-2 in his L16 including two straight wins. He just beat the 7-24-4 Habs 2-0 in Montreal in December and returns t home ice well rested and facing a team that is 2-14-3 on enemy ice this year. Chicago -180 was a bit rich but getting the +135 on the PL is tremendous value. |
01-13-22 | Wolves v. Grizzlies -4.5 | 108-116 | Win | 100 | 19 h 44 m | Show
DMack's NBA Play of the Day is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Grizz are now 29-14 after beating Golden State on Tuesday for their 10th straight win. This might not be the best of spots for Memphis against the tricky T-Wolves but Minnesota saw four-game win streak (OKC 2X, Houston) snapped on the road in a very winnable game at New Orleans. The number is fair and all things equal, Memphis should win this by double-digits. |
01-13-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Blues -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 30 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Blues Puck Line The Kraken are 1-7-2 L10 and just 4-10-3 overall on the road. Their expansion draft was a monumental failure and it shows by Seattle's slow first half. No problem with the 14-3-2 home ice Blue here at +120 on the PL. No riskit, no biskit as they say. |
01-13-22 | Oakland +1.5 v. Cleveland State | 70-65 | Win | 100 | 15 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE HOOP BIG BALLER is on the Oakland Grizzlies These are the two kingpins of the Horizon and each is undefeated in conference play, Oakland is 5-0 and Cleveland 6-0. Four of the five Grizz wins are by 15+ so Oakland has been taking care of its business. Cleveland State has won eight straight D-I games, their lost loss was 98-93 at Oklahoma State. The Vikes are a bit counterfeit however having played the No.320 ranked schedule in D-I. Oakland is supremely coached by Greg Kampe who had led the Grizz since 1984 and has 655 wins heading into this game. Cleveland State is a nice story but see their trained derailed tonight. |
01-12-22 | Lakers -2.5 v. Kings | 116-125 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 33 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the LA LAKERS This is an interesting game in that these teams are rumored to be in talks with the Lakers looking to get Harrison Barnes and/or Buddy Hield. The Lakers are still looking for a chemistry that works and the Kings are likely to blow things up as the players have seemingly mailed it in after starting the year with high hopes. No solution for Lebron who figures to have a big night and do some sales work tonight. |
01-12-22 | Rockets v. Spurs -5.5 | 128-124 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the San Antonio Spurs Both teams are not very good and both teams have been struggling. The Spurs have lost four out of five but the losses were to killers and for the most part, on the road. Houston started 1-16, won 8 straight and are now in crash and burn mode with three straight losses and 1-9 L10. There is a lot wrong with this team, especially behind the scenes San Antonio gets some players back and is at home. Would be more comfortable laying 2-3 but still seeing more cohesive San Antonio winning by margin. |
01-12-22 | Mavs -1.5 v. Knicks | 85-108 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 0 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Dallas Mavericks The Knicks made several high profile, big money moves that haven't worked out yet and at the half way point of the season, will be battling seven teams for two playoff spots in the not very good East. Dallas has won six straight which follows as they are now healthy after pretty much watching Covid run through the whole roster. Luka has also started to up his game which is not good for the homies. |
01-12-22 | LSU +1 v. Florida | 64-58 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S SEC GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the LSU Tigers LSU is young team that even at 14-1, is going to get better down the road and will be dangerous in March. There lone loss was at then No.14 and now No.4 Auburn that saw LSU get down 11-0 and 18-3 and were never able to recover. Since then, the Tigers have beat ranked Kentucky and Tennessee, both teams far superior to this Florida Gator team that is good but not special. LSU can put the ball in the hoop but can also play defense where they are are second in the country in FG% defense and create turnovers 26% of the time. Wrong favorite here but I can see the reasoning as Gainesville is a tough venue. LSU gets important road win here as the next step in its progression. LSU 68-60. |
01-11-22 | Texas Tech +12 v. Baylor | 65-62 | Win | 100 | 7 h 30 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOP UNDERDOG OF THE WEEK is the Texas Tech Red Raiders Texas Tech is good team that will get better through the year and be a tough out come March. The Red Raiders are very similar in style to No.1 Baylor and both teams have strong inside games, both shooting 56% from inside the arc. Tech lost both true road games by 4 points and Baylor is 3-0 in the Big 12 but HAS NOT beaten a team by the amount of points the Red Raiders are getting here. See this is as a close game throughout, probably low 60s with Baylor winning by 5-8 late. Take the points and don't be shocked if Tech wins straight up. They can. |
01-11-22 | USC -6 v. Stanford | 69-75 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is on the USC Trajans Stanford is 8-4 but just 2-4 vs. the Top 100 and having seen them play, are getting abit too much respect here. USC is 13-0 and as highly ranked as they've been in 40 years. This is a very talented team that shoots well from the outside, is an excellent offensive rebounding team, and suprememly coach by Andy Enfield, the guy who had Florida Gold Coast several years ago. If not for the defection of big man Okongwu to the NBA last year, this team would be in the hunt for the National Championship. Lay it. |
01-10-22 | Nets -9.5 v. Blazers | 108-114 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Brooklyn Nets Brooklyn is 25-13 but just 5-5 in their L10 games as they try to assimilate Kyrie Irving into the lineup for road games. The Nets face a hugely undermanned Portland squad here with Damian out till the end of the month and C.J. McCollum not expected back until next week. Not only does Brooklyn catch a soft touch here, they get the Blazers in the second game of a back-to-back spot, the Blazers having beaten Sacramento last night. Brooklyn 120-104. |
01-10-22 | Georgia v. Alabama +3 | 33-18 | Loss | -110 | 140 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S BAMA/UGA CHAMPIONSHIP SUPER PLAY winner is on the Alabama Crimson Tide I'm not exactly sure what everyone saw in the SEC championship game that will be different on Monday. The Tide has the much superior play at quarterback and Saban has just dominated in this game, especially against his past assistants. The Crimson Tide has the horses to get it done up front and they already have. If Bama can established the run, it plays defense on offense and keeps the defense fresh to be turned loose on Stetson Bennett WHO WILL MAKE MISTAKES WHEN PRESSURED! Bama wins this by 7-10 points. |
01-09-22 | Chargers -3 v. Raiders | 32-35 | Loss | -110 | 88 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S CHARGERS/RAIDERS WIN AND YOU'RE IN winner is on the LA Chargers They say that "Styles Makes Fights" and that's what favors the Chargers here. The Bolts have won six of the last nine in the series including a 28-14 decision in Week Four that saw the Chargers outgain the Raiders 380-213. In that game, the Chargers jumped out to s a 21-0 lead and put it on cruise control the rest of the way. Sunday, L.A. put the hammer down, start to finish. The Bolts are 8-2 when they score 27+ points and that shouldn't be a problem here against a suspect Raider defense that's been good BUT .... against a much lower octane than they'll see here. Carr gets top target Waller back here but it's too little, too late in this win or go home. Chargers 38-27. |
01-09-22 | Saints -4 v. Falcons | 30-20 | Win | 100 | 85 h 39 m | Show
DMack's Week 18 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the New Orleans Saints The Saints make the playoffs if they win and the 49ers lose. Both are very probable scenarios with Jimmy G nursing an infected throwing hand. Saints defense is still the real deal, Peyton will figure out something to score some points, and the Whodats do their best work on the road going 10-4 ATS in L14 with suitcase. Saints 23-10. |
01-09-22 | Bengals +6 v. Browns | 16-21 | Win | 100 | 81 h 24 m | Show
DMack's Week 18 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Cincinnati Bengals No Baker, no Burrow ... the Bengals clinched the North last week. The Browns have lost three straight averaging just 16 ppg. with Baker. Can they beat Cincinnati by a touchdown in a game that means nothing ??? Do they want to ??? The Bengals will start Brandon Allen to give Burrow's knee a rest and you know what they say .... "Lets Go Brandon". |
01-09-22 | Steelers +5.5 v. Ravens | 16-13 | Win | 100 | 81 h 18 m | Show
DMack's Week 18 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Pittsburgh Steelers The Ravens are ALL but eliminated at this point, have lost four straight, Lamar is done, the Blackbird defense can't stop a fat man. Pitt has a slightly better future but not much. Look for another big team effort as they say goodbye to Ben. Too many points in a game that will likely be decided by a kick late. Take the Steelers. |
01-08-22 | Blackhawks v. Golden Knights -1.5 | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 21 h 56 m | Show
DMACK's SAT 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Vegas Golden Knights on the Puck Line I attended the VGK game 48 hours ago, a 5-1 win over a very good NY Rangers outfit. It was the best I've seen the Knights play in their five years of existence and if it had been an NBA game the final score would have been closer to 128-86. The Blackhawks will be players at the trade deadline as they have no choive but blow things up. They play no defense as evidenced by 6-5 loss at Arizona on Thursday. Marc-Andre Fleury returns but will unfortunately face a shooting galery as he has all year. Vegas wins 6-2. |
01-08-22 | Predators -1.5 v. Coyotes | 4-2 | Win | 105 | 19 h 54 m | Show
DMACK's SAT 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Nashville Predators on the Puck Line Have no problem using Nashville on the Puck Line here with a team with a goal differential of -54. The Coyotes have scored an NHL low 70 goals while allowing an NHL high 124 goals. The Preds have won three straight and are 8-1-1 L10 and arguably playing the best hockey in the NHL since th return from the Christmas break. Nashville wins by mutual goals. |
01-08-22 | UCLA -8.5 v. California | 60-52 | Loss | -107 | 17 h 50 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the UCLA Bruins Cal is just a phony and would need it's best and more to even hang with UCLA. The Bruins have been perfect since getting embarrassed by Gonzaga with eight of their nine wins by 11+ points. The Bears averaged just 59 points in their six losses and that has to be concerning to Cal backers who think the Bears can stay within this number. They won't ... UCLA by 20. |
01-08-22 | Jazz -3.5 v. Pacers | 113-125 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Utah Jazz The somewhat shorthanded Jazz folded like a cheap suit at Toronto last night. Normally, wouldn't be interested laying points on the road of a back-to-back but the Jazz get people back tonight and for sure will be a little salty after being outscore 73-46 in the second half last night. The Pacers have lost six straight and looking at fill scale changes over the next 30 days. Utah by 12-15. |
01-08-22 | Iowa State +6.5 v. Oklahoma | 66-79 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 52 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Iowa State Cyclones These are two very good Big 12 teams with little separation but the points are just to much to pass up here. Both teams are similar and well coached. Was really impressed with Iowa State team that head it's foot on the neck of Baylor last weekend but let it get away. Right back with a wire-to-wire win over Texas Tech where the Cyclones hit every key shot and made their free throws under the gun. Just don't see the points not coming to play. |
01-08-22 | Stetson v. North Florida -1 | 68-66 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 53 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the North Florida Ospreys The Mack Attack is keying on a couple of smaller conferences and has always had success in the Atlantic Sun, even cashing a couple of games earlier in the week. The Ospreys are 4-0 at home in Jacksonville and 0-10 away from home and even had games against Florida State and Kansas State canceled. Stetson will have its moments during the season but not many and none on the road. Take North Florida. |
01-08-22 | Chiefs -10 v. Broncos | 28-24 | Loss | -110 | 61 h 27 m | Show
DMACK'S CHIEFS/BRONCOS WEEK 18 SAT STAND ALONE winner is on the Kansas City Chiefs The Chiefs can still win the top seed in the AFC with a win here and a Titan loss on Sunday. Pat Mahomes will play and it should be business as usual for the Chiefs who have won 11 straight (9-2 ATS) in the series including a 22-9 decision at Arrowhead in Week 13. The Broncos are hurting at QB with Teddy Bridgewater not cleared from concussion protocol, Drew Lock dinged and Brett Rypien his backup. Add to the mix Kansas City's 15-6 ATS run as a road favorite and their seven straight covers at Mile High and 10 against a team already eliminated from the playoffs almost seems like a gift. Lay it with Kansas City. |
01-08-22 | Merrimack -4.5 v. Central Connecticut State | 66-57 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Merrimack Warriors Neither team is very good but Merrimack is double-digits better than Cent Conn. The CCSU Blue Devils are 4-11 but No.330 in offense and No.306 on defense. The Warriors are not much putting the ball in the hoop but really get at it on the defensive on. Thinking Merrimack has success against a soft CCSU defense and then does it's thing on their own end. Merrimack opened with two conference wins against better and wins here .... call is 63-50. |

01-08-22 | Arkansas +1 v. Texas A&M | 81-86 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 38 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Arkansas Razorbacks Texas A&M is a bit counterfeit in my opinion as the Aggies are 12-2 but have played the No.323 toughest schedule. Arkansas is 1-4 L5 off a 9-0 start but has an excellent coach in Eric Musselman who will have this team whipped into shape by February and the money ball days of June. Ark rebounds well off the off and def glass and is the more talented team. Razors straight up. |
01-08-22 | Connecticut v. Seton Hall -3.5 | 87-90 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 40 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Seton Hall Pirates Great game as No.23 meets No.27 on Ken Palm. UConn has only played two true road games (1-1) and hasn't played in 18 days. Tough ask here against a very good Pirate outfit. Seton Hall is 10-3 with the three losses ALL to Top 20 teams and by hust 3-5-6 points. The Hall is No.25 in experience and No.16 in FG % defense, shoot 45% inside the arc, and have played the No.21 toughest schedule. Seton Hall gets the call. |
01-07-22 | Cavs -4.5 v. Blazers | 114-101 | Win | 100 | 13 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NIGHT NBA SLAM DUNK winner is on the Cleveland Cavaliers Both teams have lost four of five but that where all similarity ends. Portland is a train wreck that will likely be blowing things up including moving Damian Lillard. The surprising Cavs are really a complete team that is just learning with lots of good young pieces. Three of the four recent losses were at the end of a long roadie and the home loss was by three points to red-hot Memphis. The Cavs are 21-17 now, will make the playoffs and could surprise down the road. Cleveland 108-95. |
01-07-22 | Cleveland State -8 v. Robert Morris | 78-77 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY COLLEGE HOOPS BANKROLL BUILDER winner is on the Cleveland State Vikings It's as hard to say as getting up a hairball but the Cleveland State Vikings are pretty good. Since losing openers on the road at BYU and Ohio, the Vikes are 8-1 with their lone loss 98-95 in OT at Oklahoma State. Cleveland State is a veteran bunch and started the season as the No.2 team in Division I in game starts experience. Robert Morris is 2-11 (0-4 in Conf) with one of the wins against Lancaster Bible. Rob Mo conference losses are by an average og 10+ points and their opponents are shooting a tick under 40% from downtown. There's a new sheriff in the Horizon Conference and its name is Cleveland State. |
01-06-22 | Louisiana Tech -3 v. UTEP | 64-52 | Win | 100 | 20 h 33 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS LATE SHOW BAIL OUT winner is on the La Tech Bulldogs UTEP is 7-6 strangely enough despite not shooting a lick (No.319 and not playing a lick of defense (No.290). The Miners have played two teams in the Top 100 and lost by 26 and 13 points ... enough said. La Tech is 11-3 and 2-0 in conference, shooting 55.3% inside the arc (No.28) and will only improve with experience. The Bulldogs have won six of the last eight in the series and are a perfect 6-0 vs. teams outside the Top 109, UTEP currently checks in at No.178. Three points is very manageable and we'll call this one 75-63 Tech. |
01-06-22 | Warriors -6.5 v. Pelicans | 96-101 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 9 m | Show
DMack's NBA Play of the Day winner is on the Golden State Warriors Golden State got spanked 99-82 at Dallas last night in a game where Steph and Co. shot just 41% from the field, 18% from down town, and 69% from the foul line in what was a perfect storm for the Mavs who retired Dirk's No.41 after the game. Just flat out giving the Warriors a mulligan there and figure the Wubs to bounce back big against the Pelicans regardless of whatever issues come off or even if Steph gets rested. The hapless Pels have lost three straight, by 23-11-13 and will be flying into somewhat of a perfect storm themselves. A salty Golden State 119-92 Warrior win here. |
01-06-22 | NJIT v. UMass Lowell -6.5 | 77-72 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is UMass Lowell NJIT is very ordinary as they venture into the America East for the first year. The Highlanders rank No.294 on Ken Palm and face a better UMass Lowell outfit that is No.238 on Ken Palm has played much better early on and even owns a win at Dayton. The River Hawks haven't had much chance at Costello Arena where they've smashed a bunch of tomato cans but figure to play big here in their first conference game of the season. UMass Lowell 76-63. |
01-05-22 | Texas Tech +2.5 v. Iowa State | 47-51 | Loss | -104 | 20 h 0 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders Two pretty good teams square off here in this Big 12 showdown between No.25 vs. No.11. Texas Tech's losses came early at Providence and then to Gonzaga over Christmas. Iowa State lost it's most recent at home to No.1 Baylor 77-72. Not much separates these two but having seen both teams several times the eye test tells me Tech is the better team. The Raiders are slick and come off as very professional and well coached. They have a win over Tennessee so this team can play. Iowa State is off to a great start that is probably more overachieving and the Cyclones figure to come back to the field in a very good and ultra-competitive Big 12. This will be close but will take Texas Tech to figure it out in the end. |
01-05-22 | Syracuse +2.5 v. Miami-FL | 87-88 | Win | 100 | 19 h 17 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Syracuse Orange Miami is in first in the ACC at 11-3, 3-0 but have been the beneficiaries of a soft early schedule and three and now four home games to start conference play. Syracuse is 7-6 but against a very ambitious schedule and are already as battle tested as they'll ever be. The Cuse depends on the Boeheim Bros. dealing on the point and shooting the ball from downtown. Decent shooting nights, defensive rebounding, and no turnover has Syracuse in just about every game. |
01-05-22 | Warriors -5 v. Mavs | 82-99 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Golden State Warriors Dallas has won three straight with smoke and mirrors but is up against it here. Luka is about 70% and the matchup is not good for the homies Golden State is 3-1 L4 but the wins have come against Phoenix, Utah, and Miami and yes ..... the Warriors play up and down to their opponent. Golden State will be ready to play here and the returns of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman are immanent. Golden State 118-103. |
01-05-22 | Nets -6.5 v. Pacers | 129-121 | Win | 100 | 16 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Brooklyn Nets The Pacers are a nightmare, 2-8 L10, and now they're finding ways to lose. Look for Indiana to be a player and likely blow things up at the trade deadline. Kyrie Irving is likely to make his debut for the Nets who are off a bad loss that saw Kevin Durant go code red in the post game. The Nets will be razor sharp and focused here ... bet on it. Brooklyn 118-96. |
01-05-22 | 76ers -7.5 v. Magic | 116-106 | Win | 100 | 16 h 45 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS 3-GAME NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Philadelphia 76ers Orlando may now have surpassed the Pistons as the worst team in the NBA and in the Magic's case, the only light at the end of the tunnel is a train. The 76ers may have finally flicked the switch with four straight wins. Philly is actually 13-8 on the road and just 7-8 at home. Good teams beat the teams they're supposed to beat ..... Philadelphia is supposed to beat Orlando. 76ers win 108-93. |
01-05-22 | Alabama +2 v. Florida | 83-70 | Win | 100 | 18 h 18 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Alabama Crimson Tide The 9-3 Gators are somewhat counterfeit. Their two road losses to less than they see here make sense but the double-digit home loss to 2-8 Texas Southern is the tell. The No.14th ranked Tide is loaded and and has played well except for a couple of vapor locks. The Tide has arguably the some of the best guard play in the country led by Jayden Shackleford and their top three scorers are also the top three rebounders, all with better than five boards per game. Wrong team favored here ...... Bama by 10! |
01-04-22 | LSU +4.5 v. Kansas State | 20-42 | Loss | -110 | 38 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S LSU/K STATE TEXAS BOWL SUPER PLAY winner is on the LSU Tigers Never thought that K State was anything more or less than a middle of the road Big 12 team and that's exactly what the turned out to be. LSU was somewhat disappointing this year considering the amount of returning starters but the team was hit hard by injuries to their offensive lie right off the git go and that proved to be more than the Tigers could overcome. The team did not quit though despite the fact that Coach O was a dead man walking. LSU could have quit but won last two including an upset of Texas A&M here. New era at LSU next year with Brian Kelly. Inerim in house staff will coach here while Kelly watches and the returning players will play like they are playing for jobs and probably to some extent are. LSU has won L3 Bowls averaging 48 per, are 13-4-1 L18 as a dog, and 6-1 when they score 27 points this year. LSU 34-17. |
01-04-22 | Suns -7 v. Pelicans | 123-110 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NBA NOTHING BUT NET winner is on the Phoenix Suns The schedule makers didn't do the Pelicans any favors by with the Jazz and Suns in a B2B, even at home. The Pelicans are playing hard but are outmanned. Nola made a couple of runs at Utah las night before gassing 115-104 (+10) and tonight meet a team just as good and with an even longer bench in the Phoenix Suns. Last year's Western Conference champs bounced out of a 2-3 five game funk with a 133-99 win at Charlotte in their most recent and have had a day off before returning home to face the Clippers and Heat. Phoenix by 12-15. |
01-04-22 | Liberty -6.5 v. Stetson | 75-59 | Win | 100 | 13 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S ATLANTIC SUN GAME OF THE MONTH WINNER is on the Liberty Flames Much like their football program, Liberty is a team that can compete at a high level and do. The Flames four losses are on the road or neutral floor games to the likes of LSU and in the last 10 days, by five points to Stanford and BYU. Love the Hatters who have a long hoops tradition but are just not at the same level as their guests from a talent standpoint. Last year was Liberty's first year in the Atlantic Sun and they went 3-0 against the Hatters winning by 14 and 10 in the regular season and then 77-64 in the A-Sun semis. Same result here. |
01-03-22 | Browns v. Steelers -1 | 14-26 | Win | 100 | 14 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S BROWNS/STEELERS MONDAY NIGHT MAGIC winner is on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday's results gave us much more clarity into the playoff picture. The Browns have been eliminated and the Steelers are on maintenance life support at best. This is likely Ben Roethlisberger's final home game as a Steeler so besides Pittsburgh's slim playoff hopes, motivation would seem to be with the Black and Gold to win this. The Browns have played hard but have lost their last two by two points which twisted the knife. Cleveland has also been owned in the series to the tune of 18-5-1 L24 and also remember the Browns did win here last year. All taken into account a in a virtual pick'em, we'll take the Steelers in a game where his teammates really strap it up with one final big effort. Pittsburgh 26-20. |
01-03-22 | Jazz -10 v. Pelicans | 115-104 | Win | 100 | 14 h 53 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA MONDAY NIGHT SLAM DUNK winner is on the Utah Jazz The 13-win Pelicans seem to have realized that they are what they are and that there is a life without Zion. Nola is 6-4 L10 and a representative 7-9 at home but up against it here who will likely by a little salty of home loss to Golden State and this being the first of a convoluted five-game East Coast swing. The Jazz have been our "Go To" with their predictable MO which is 12-3 on the road, 8-0 vs division, and 16-4 vs. the ultra tough Western Conference. Not ever anxious to play double-digits on the road but we do pick our spots and this is one of the better ones here tonight. |
01-02-22 | Suns -2 v. Hornets | 133-99 | Win | 100 | 19 h 43 m | Show
MACK ATTACK SUN NBA PLAY OF THE DAY in on the Phoenix Suns The Suns trail Golden State by a game in the West and are one game back (27-8) from the best record in basketball. Ohoenix is just 2-3 L5 but those game were while battling Covid hold outs but tonight should be close to 100% with the return of big man DeAndre Ayton. The teams met December 19th in Phoenix when Charlotte was somewhat short-handed and the Suns throttled the Hornets 137-106. Phoenix is definitely two points better than Charlotte here barring any of the Suns major players being unable to play. |
