Saskatchewan was terrible on defense last season but the offense will be fine with quarterback Darian Durant and passing options Rob Bagg, Chambers, John Chiles and Naaman Roosevelt. Their passing attack will do well against a Montreal secondary that has had major changes from 2015. Dominique Ellis and Mitchell White were, so rookies Ethan Davis and Greg Henderson are playing a bigger roll. The Alouettes are on a 2-6 ATS run, including 1-5 ATS at home. Reason: Calgary has a powerhouse offense and faces a British Columbia defense that is suspect, allowing the fourth most points in the CFL last year. The Over is 8-3-1 in B.C. Lions last 12 home games. B.C. QB Jonathon Jennings entered the 2015 season as the Lions' third quarterback but quickly rose to the top of the depth chart following injuries to Travis Lulay and backup John Beck. Jennings started six games for the Lions, passing for 2,004 yards and 15 touchdowns and leading B.C. into the playoffs. All this shapes up as an offensive show in the opener. Reason: Ottawa had hit all go right last year, improving from two wins to making the Grey Cup last year. QB Burris is back along with all 5 offensive linemen, a group who started every game last year. The RedBlacks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. They face the champs, an Edmonton team that had a lot of key turnover. Edmonton's Grey Cup winning coaching staff bolted, as did core members of its dominating defense. Defensive back Aaron Grymes (Philadelphia), linebacker Dexter McCoil (San Diego), and defensive end Willie Jefferson (Washington) all went to the NFL. Linebacker and nickelback Otha Foster has gone to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The loss of Grymes was compounded in training camp when John Ojo, the team's leader in interceptions last year with five, went down for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Veterans Pat Watkins and Marcell Young missed time in training camp with injuries. This shapes up as a close one, like the Grey Cup when they last met, and the Edmonton Eskimos are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games in Week 1. Play Ottawa.

Reason: Montreal is a dog but wasn't as bad as its record a year ago, getting outscored by just 4 points for the season despite finishing in last place. For 2016 Montreal gets a huge lift in QB Vernon Adams Jr, a mobile signal caller who dazzled at Oregon, joining veteran QB Kevin Glenn. Glenn will throw to an already strong receiving group that has Duran Carter back after a year in the NFL. And they still have last season's CFL-leading rusher Tyrell Sutton and top kick returner Stefan Logan. Winnipeg was terrible on offense last season (last in the CFL) and the defense was poor, allowing 100 more points than Montreal. The Blue Bombers are off a 5-13 season that saw them miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season and sixth time in seven years. Montreal lost by just 2 points here a year ago and won the rematch, 35-14. The Blue Bombers are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games in June, so grab the dog. Play Montreal.

Reason: Hamilton is without star QB Zack Collaros, so backup Jeremiah Masoli starts the season for the Tiger-Cats. They face a Toronto team with new looks and a 35-year old often-injured QB in Ricky Ray. Toronto is on a 6-0 run under the total, 17-5 under in June and 23-9 under in Week 1. Reason: Grey Cup title game Sunday from Investors Group Field from Winnipeg. Ottawa is a fine team as a big dog, on a 4-0 ATS run and 7-3 ATS against a team with a winning record. QB Henry Burris led the CFL with 5,703 passing yards while tossing 26 touchdown passes against 13 interceptions. The most impressive stat was a completion rate of 70.9 percent on an amazing 678 attempts. The big play in Sunday's win was a 93-yard touchdown throw to Greg Ellingson to put the RedBacks ahead late in the fourth quarter. They have more than enough offense and motivation to keep this championship game close. Play Ottawa!

Reason: Calgary begins its Grey Cup title defense in fairly solid form after posting a SU 6-1 record in its final seven regular season games. The Stampeders are 10-1 SU in their last 11 home games, and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of those 10 games. That's the way to look at this playoff game with Calgary a dominant defensive team, allowing the second fewest points in the CFL. Reason: Hamilton is favored but limps into the playoffs on an 0-3 SU/ATS run and just two wins in its last seven games (2-5 ATS). The loss of its starting quarterback Zach Collaros has taken its toll during this slide. The Tiger-Cats turned to Jeremiah Masoli as their quarterback in last Saturday's loss for an ineffective Jacory Harris, who was making his first CFL start. Neither player could move an offense that posted just 189 yards through the air. Hamilton's offense has averaged 19.7 points over its last seven games, 0-4 ATS against a winning team. Toronto finished the regular season with an average of 24.3 points a game on offense, with the return of quarterback Ricky Ray a plus to the starting lineup after missing most of the season due to injury. Ottawa is home and can clinch an East Division title and first round bye in the playoffs with another win against Hamilton in this season finale. These teams just played the last game, with Ottawa winning 12-6 as a +5 road dog. Winnipeg is averaging just 20.1 points a game and is on a 10-4-1 run under the total, including 8-1-1 under against a winning team. They head to Toronto, a team with a winning record thought they've lost 4 in a row because of a QB change with Ricky Ray taking over. But the offense has scored 15, 15, 2 and 25 the last four games (5-0 run under the total. Despite a good defensive showing last week, that ended a 4-game skid allowing 33, 39, 25 and 23 points. Edmonton (13-4) has a fine offense getting 426 points on the season (second most). Reason: British Columbia is 2-6 and heads out on the road with a terrible defense, one of the worst in the CFL. They are on a 2-5 SU run and the Lions are 0-4 ATS following a win. The Toronto Argonauts (9-7) are home and need a shot in the arm after losing two straight. They get one in the form of veteran QB Ricky Ray, making his first start since offseason shoulder surgery. Ray replaces Trevor Harris, who had been the club's starter for its first 16 regular-season games. Ray saw his first action of the season Friday night in Hamilton, replacing Harris in the second half of Toronto's lopsided 34-2 loss to Montreal. He finished 12-of-15 passing for 94 yards and had a late TD strike negated by a penalty. BC has lost its last three road games by 3 6 and 12 points, so grab home field. Play Toronto!

Reason: These teams just played each other, a 27-24 final that slipped under the total. However, I'll come back with the over as these are two fine offense and two of the worst defenses in the CFL. Ottawa has allowed 400 points but the offense is clicking, scoring 30, 36, 39, 35 and 27 the last five games, part of a 3-1 run over the total. The Over is 5-1 in the RedBlacks last 6 road games. Winnipeg is on a 3-1-1 run over with a defense that has allowed 454 points, worst in the league. This shapes up as an offensive show. Play Ottawa/Winnipeg Over the total.

Take: (483) CFL Game of the Year: Hamilton.
The Hamilton Ticats (19-7 ATS run) have it all, in first place and on a 4-0 SU/ATS run on the road. QB Jeff Mathews threw a touchdown pass to Terrell Sinkfield and Justin Medlock added five field goals as the Tiger-Cats took over top spot in the CFL East Division with the win over the Alouettes, 23-11. The Tiger-Cats also sacked QB Glenn three times and laid several other big hits as part of a strong defensive effort. The special units also contributed with a long punt return from Brandon Banks, while a first-quarter punt block by Mike Daly -- the team's league-leading sixth on the season -- set up Hamilton's only touchdown. Those four road games they've won by 12, 8, 29 and 10 points. Hamilton actually qualified for the playoffs Saturday night, courtesy of the B.C. Lions' loss to the Edmonton Eskimos, but are targeting first place and a first-round bye (not to mention a third straight Grey Cup appearance). The Tiger-Cats are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 road games and face a 5-10 BC team. The Lions are 3-8 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 2-5-1 ATS at home. After playing 2 straight high scoring games against a defenseless Ottawa team, Toronto heads out on the road to face a strong Montreal defense, second in the CFL in points allowed. Toronto is 10-1 under the total on Monday games, plus 9-3 under against a team with a losing record. Montreal focuses on defense and ball control, scoring 21 and 17 points the last two games. The Als absorbed a humiliating 39-17 defeat against the Ottawa Redblacks last Thursday night at TD Place. The fact Montreal was playing its second consecutive road game in five days certainly contributed to the defeat. But Montreal is 5-1 under the total at home and 14-5 under after a defeat. Reason: A great bounce back spot for the home team. Ottawa is off a home loss to Toronto that ended a 3-game win streak, part of a 4-1 ATS run. Veteran QB Henry Burris moved into top spot on the passing yard leaders for the season in the loss last week. This is the middle of a nice long home stand for them and the RedBlacks are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. Montreal is in town on a 1-2 SU/ATS run, getting blown out at Saskatchewan as chalk the last game, 33-23. The home team holds all the cards. Play Ottawa.

Stefan Logan ran for a combined 138 yards on three kick returns and added a punt return touchdown in the victory. Saskatchewan (7-18-1 ATS run) is 1-6 at home and coming off a home loss to Ottawa as a favorite. Toronto heads out on the road on a 3-game skid scoring 15, 12 and 27 points. Toronto is on an 0-4 ATS run, 2-8 ATS after a spread loss. They run into a hot Ottawa squad winning 3 in a row. Chris Milo hit a field goal with six seconds remaining in the game as the Redblacks secured their third straight victory. QB Henry Burris threw for nearly 500 yards while adding two touchdown passes and rushing for another while Kevin Glenn was solid in his return from injury. Both Chris Williams and Ernest Jackson each topped 100 receiving yards while Naaman Roosevelt hauled in a 71-yard touchdown for the Riders. Ottawa is on a 4-0 ATS run, as well as 4-1 ATS at home. And they just picked up receiver/kick returner Skye Dawson from the Edmonton Eskimos in return for a conditional exchange of 2017 draft picks. The Over is 6-2 in Stampeders last 8 Friday games. Winnipeg has allowed 35+ points in three of the last four games, on a 2-1 run over the total. The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Winnipeg between these teams and this total is too low. Take: The worst offense in the CFL is a big favorite here. Montreal has had two weeks off but has not been scoring points, 2-4 the last six games. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were victorious 22-7 over the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week. Reason: The Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-11) are getting some respect with this betting number...but it's tough to figure out why, off a 22-9 loss at Winnipeg. This defense has allowed 22, 19, 35, 34, 30, 30 and 31 points the last seven contests. The Roughriders are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall, 3-9 ATS at home and 13-36-3 ATS following a loss. Ottawa is in town winning two in a road and on a 5-1 spread run. Jeremiah Johnson rushed for two second-half touchdowns and Chris Milo kicked five field goals as the Ottawa Redblacks came back to beat the B.C. Lions 31-18 on Sunday. The Redblacks (6-4) win moved them into a tie for second place in the East Division with the Toronto Argonauts. Saskatchewan is 16-33-3 ATS following a spread loss, so grab the visitors. QB Zach Collaros had a career game, throwing for four touchdown passes and 400 yards as WR Terrell Sinkfield hauled in two touchdowns. The Tiger-Cats are on a 16-5 ATS run, plus 18-6 ATS in their last 24 road games. Toronto is home but in a slump, losing 2 in a row scoring 15 and 12 points, losing by 23 and 30 points. Toronto is on a 2-7 ATS run at home and 1-5 ATS overall. The last four Tiger-Cats wins have come by 30, 30, 29 and 30, with a three-point loss to Montreal crammed in there. Their three losses have come by a combined eight points. Toronto's just not in the same category, not really. Reason: A battle for first-place in the Western division! And that means a strong defensive war. The Calgary Stampeders are in first place and off a win where the defense allowed 136 yards in net offense and 10 first downs. Calgary is on a 7-3 run under the total, including 5-1 under at home. They face an Edmonton squad off a win with a superb outing by the Edmonton defence. Toronto QB Trevor Harris, the best in the league in completion percentage, went 20-for-26 for the Argos but only 200 yards with his longest completion of 29. The Green and Gold simply took away the medium and long game Harris has feasted on all year. QB James Franklin had his first Eskimo start. Edmonton is 12-3 under the total against the West and 8-3 under on the road. Play Edmonton/Calgary under the total.

Reason: A pair of terrible defenses square off in Canada, the two worst defensive teams in the CFL. Winnipeg heads out on the road allowing the second most points in the league, a defensive drag on their 3-6 record. The Over is 6-2 when the Blue Bombers face a team with a losing record and they face a team winless on the year in 0-9 Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan is getting worse on defense, allowing 30, 34 and 35 points the last three contests. They opened the favorite here as oddsmakers expect their offense to be able to score on this Winnipeg defense...but can either offense be stopped? They've allowed 30 points in every game but one, and that was a 27-24 defeat at home to BC. Ottawa (4-4) is home from a lousy two-game trip. Ottawa's defence limited Toronto to just 44 rushing yards and Greg Ellingson has emerged as a legit star wideout. The RedBlacks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games, so grab the home team. The defense was on display last week shutting down British Columbia in a 23-13 victory. Montreal is 17-5 under the total on the road and 20-7 under against the East. The Alouettes are also on a 35-17-1 run under the total overall. Hamilton has the flashy offense, but this team also plays excellent defense, especially at home where they are on a 19-7 run under the total. You have to hand it to Toronto, with a 5-2 record despite playing the fewest home games (2-0) of any CFL team. The Argonauts are on a 6-2 ATS run, 5-2 ATS following a spread win. Toronto's offense is the most pass-happy team in the league. Ottawa has problems, on a 2-3 run off a 48-3 no-show loss at Calgary last week. It was the most points they've given up in a game. The RedBlacks are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games, so grab home field in a rout. Play Toronto.

Reason: The over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these teams and this season both have good offenses and shaky defenses. The Over is 4-1 in the Stampeders last 5 road games, plus 5-2 over the total against the West. Saskatchewan's defense has been a sieve allowing 30+ points in every game but one, in which they lost 27-24! A tough spot for the home team here. Hamilton has won 4 in a row and is the league's stingiest group when it comes to allowing yards on the ground, holding teams to an average of 73.1 yards per game. But it's the Hamilton offense that is clicking, leading the league in scoring while tallying 31, 34, 38 and 52 the last four games. The Tiger-Cats are on a 13-3 ATS run, 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games. Edmonton has won 4 of 5 but hasn't been dominant. They beat some bad teams during that run, lost 26-23 at BC as a favorite and the last game squeezed out a 15-12 win over a stumbling Montreal team. The Tiger-Cats are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Edmonton and hold all the cards. Play Hamilton.

Reason: A pair of weak offenses meet in British Columbia. Montreal is the worst, with bad play-calling and a rookie QB in Rakeem Cato who is shaky. There is no balance, the lack of a running game, plus the the questionable play-calling by offensive co-ordinator Turk Schonert, 6-1 under the total this season. They have scored 23 and 12 points the last two games. Montreal is on a 16-5 run under the total against the road and a 23-8 run under overall. British Columbia is off a bad defensive game against high scoring Hamilton but will improve against anemic Montreal. But this offense has averaged 20.2 ppg the last three contests. The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings at BC and this shapes up as a defensive battle. Play Montreal/British Columbia Under the total.

Reason: A pair of 4-2 teams in an evenly matched game, so I'll back the hungry dog. The Ottawa Redblacks are such a pleasant surprise for the CFL. The talent they brought in is paying off and this team is 4-1 ATS against an opponent with a winning record. Calgary has given up more points than its scored and is 0-6 ATS this season, part of an 0-7 ATS run. Calgary had a bye week last week to try and figure some things out. They've been inconsistent and the Stampeders are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games. Play Ottawa.

Edmonton is a powerhouse team anchored by the No. 1 defense in the NFL, allowing 89 points in six contests. Chad Simpson rushed for 96 yards in his return to the Eskimos lineup the last game. The Eskimos' secondary has dominated teams over last few weeks, allowing just offensive touchdowns in the last four games and only 7 this season. Edmonton allows the fewest total yards per game and has limited teams to just 84.4 yards on the ground. The Eskimos are 6-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, 5-0 ATS following a loss. Edmonton is also 7-3 under the total on the road. Last place Montreal is off another loss, blowing a halftime lead to Ottawa. Montreal is on a 22-8 run under the total and will struggle to score against Edmonton. Play Edmonton + UNDER the total.

A pair of decent teams meet in Hamilton -- and one has a monster defense. Winnipeg heads out on the road with a weak offense, last in the Western division in scoring. The Blue Bombers are 47-22-1 under the total on the road and 35-17 under following a win. Hamilton has allowed just 106 total points in 5 games, third best in the CFL. Hamilton is on a 5-1 run under the total, including 18-5 under in the Tiger-Cats last 23 home games. When these teams clash the under is 7-1 and this total is too high. Play Winnipeg/Hamilton under the total.

Saskatchewan must think it is snake bitten about now in the CFL. The Roughriders have had the lead in the 4th quarter of all three previous games, only to be 0-3 S/U right now. This Saskatchewan could could just as easily be 3-0 right now with some breaks in the fourth quarter. Kevin Glenn leads the CFO in passing with 868 yards, while Jerome Messam is second in the league in rushing with 244 yards. The Roughriders have a solid ground game with Messam and Allen both in the league's top five. Add Glenn and the offense has plenty of power. These teams combined for 67 points last week in British Columbia. I like this one to go OVER again today with two very good offenses. Take OVER.

Ottawa had its perfect 2-0 record smashed by these same Edmonton Eskimos a week ago. The Redblacks looked very good in their previous two games with QB Henry Burris connecting on 70% of his passes and has four TD's. Last week Burris threw an INT on the team's second possession that Edmonton returned for a touchdown. It was pretty much over for the Redblacks after that. The defense had also been good, allowing just 16 point average in their first two games and 255 yards until the Eskimos pounded them last week. It's always tough to beat a team back-to-back, especially when you embarrassed them the week before. The Redblacks have to avoid the early mistakes they made last week that saw them implode. If they can do that this week, then I like them here to rebound at home in a game that is more important for Ottawa than Edmonton. I'll take the points with Ottawa here on Friday.

 Rakeem Cato makes just the third start of his CFL career here on Thursday for Montreal. Cato had a rough game last week, throwing no TD's and two INT's. One of the INT's was returned for a touchdown. Cato will have his work cut out for him tonight in this Eastern Division battle with arguably the best team in the East, Hamilton. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats biggest worry though is RB Tyrell Sutton, the CFL's leading rusher with 278 yards. The Tiger-Cats blitzed and blitzed in their last game against Winnipeg and I fully expect they will use this tactic against the young QB for Montreal tonight. Montreal has a solid defense though and should be able to keep this game close. However, Cato is still young and prone to mistakes, which I believe will favor Hamilton here. It will be a close game, but I give the nod to Hamilton.

Toronto has jumped out of the gate with two wins in its first two weeks. The Argos opened with a 26-11 win over Edmonton and then won a shootout with Saskatchewan, 42-40. The big news has been the play of QB Trevor Harris. Harris has been red-hot and now faces his toughest opponent in a very good Calgary defense. Harris hit 24 of 27 passes against Edmonton for 347 yards and three TD's. Harris followed that up with a 30-of-38 performance against Saskatchewan, tossing four TD's and 267 yards. Harris' QB rating is now a blistering, 140.2. Calgary is 1-1 to start the season after being thumped by Montreal and their rookie QB, 29-11. Calgary is the defending Grey Cup Champions and they will defend home field here. They know Harris has been red-hot and they have the defense to stop him. I'm not completely sold yet on the Argos team and their QB, but this is their big test against the defending Champions. I'm taking the home team here in Calgary.

Both of these clubs looking for their first win of the season. Saskatchewan is 0-2 both SU and ATS after losing to Toronto last week, 42-40. The BC Lions are 0-1 this season after their opening week loss to Ottawa, 27-16. Neither team should score much here as the RoughRiders are 1-8 O/U in their last nine games and 0-5 O/U in their last five road contests. BC is 1-4 O/U in their last five and the last 20 times these clubs have met they have gone under 14 times. The weather could also play a part here as there is a heat wave in British Columbia and today's temperature could be over 100 degrees with high humidity. This could take a big toll on players not used to this heat. I like this game to go UNDER, especially if players are dragging by the end. Play the UNDER.

Toronto caught a break last week when Edmonton lost its starting QB in a 26-11 win. The Argonauts are 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. Now they catch another break as Saskatchewan lost its QB! Last week it was announced shortly after the game that Saskatchewa QB Darian Durant was out for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Kevin Glenn now steps into the starting quarterback role for the Riders. Saskatchewan is 16-33-2 ATS following a loss, plus 16-33-2 ATS following a spread loss. The Argonauts are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 meetings in Saskatchewan, so grab the visiting dog. Play Toronto!

Reason: Ottawa has been stockpiling talent through the draft and had a big offseason to improve on a 2-16 record. All the moves paid off last week in the opener, a 20-16 road win as a +8 dog. Ottawa's deepest cache of National talent is at defensive line, where Justin Capicciotti posted a 11 sacks to earn the team's Most Outstanding Canadian nomination. The offense brings in Jason Maas as new offensive coordinator and Bryan Chiu as the new offensive line coach. SirVincent Rogers, Greg Ellingson, and Ernest Jackson were brought in as free agents while Maurice Price was acquired from the Calgary Stampeders via trade. They also add electrifying Chris Williams, who returns to the CFL after two years in the NFL. Rogers will improve the team's offensive line while Price, Jackson, and Ellingson - a favorite target of QB Henry Burris' in Hamilton - bolster a receiving corps that some are looks like one of the best in the league. Williams helps the team both offensively and on special teams. British Columbia is a road favorite but off a 9-9 season and they hope to have QB Travis Lulay ready to go, but coming off a shoulder injury. The Lions are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 9-19-1 ATS in their last 29 games in July. Play Ottawa.

Reason: Hamilton is a a team that had a strong defense last season as its won the East. The offense wasn't sharp on the road where they went 2-7 and Hamilton is off a 24-23 loss to Calgary, part of an 8-3 run under the total. Hamilton is also 6-1 under against a team with a winning record and 14-5 under following a spread loss. Winnipeg allowed 26 points in a win at Saskatchewan and heads home for the home opener. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers duel threat tailbacks teamed up for 241 combined yards and 3 touchdowns. The under is 35-17 in Blue Bombers last 52 games following a win and when these teams meet the under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. Play Hamilton/Winnipeg under the total.

Reason: The Eskimos' offense should be better because QB Mike Reilly is in the same system for the first time as a starter. This team is big and fast and the skill players sometimes seem to be playing faster than everyone else on the field. The Eskimos (8-2 ATS run) enter 2015 with the three most important foundation pieces intact in Coach Chris Jones, quarterback Mike Reilly, and a suffocating defense. Jones's specialty is defense, and he turned a below average unit into a great one last season: the Eskimos finishing first in both yards allowed per game and points allowed per game. The Eskimos are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games. Toronto is all about offense with a weak defense that was third worst in points allowed last year. Edmonton is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings, including 5-1 ATS at Toronto. Play Edmonton!

Reason: It's last year's Grey Cup rematch between Hamilton and the Calgary Stampeders, a 20-16 Calgary win! Hamilton has decent QB play with mobile Zack Collaros and Jeremiah Masoli. Collaros has thrown to a variety of different receivers this spring. The defense, though, has concerns with holes on the D-line left in the wake of season-ending injuries to Linden Gaydosh and Brian Bulcke. Hamilton was fourth in scoring in the CFL last season and faces a Calgary team that rolled up 511 points, No. 1 in the league. In 3 of 4 preseason games these offenses alone scored 37, 26 and 37 points. The OVER is on a 5-2 run for Calgary and this shapes up as an offensive show. Play Hamilton/Calgary over the total.

Reason: The Grey Cup title game on Sunday! The oddsmakers have powerhouse Calgary (15-3) a big favorite, but Hamilton matches up well. After going 1-6 to start the season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats finished the season strong, looking particularly good in their 40-24 Eastern division final win over the Montreal Alouettes. The Tiger-Cats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games, plus 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Hamilton Ticats were 8-5 with mobile QB Zack Collaros in the lineup, and just 1-4 without him. Calgary has yet to face Collaros this season, who missed part of the season with a concussion, and they could struggle to contain the quarterback who prides himself on mobility. And this is a terrific Hamilton defense, one that allowed 395 points -- fourth in the CFL. Their defensive backfield snagged three interceptions the last game and stifled star Montreal Alouette receivers S.J. Green and Duron Carter. Both Calgary QB Bo Levi Mitchell and Hamilton's Zach Collaros are in the Grey Cup as first-year starters, so look for a close one. The Calgary Stampeders are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 playoff games, too. Play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats!

The defense has been a problem all year surrendering the second most points in the CFL. The Argonauts are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and the Tiger-Cats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. Reason: Saskatchewan has enough offense but their late season slide is because of a porous defense allowing 32, 24, 31, 40 and 24 points the last five games. The over is 5-2 in Roughriders last 7 Friday games. They take on a powerhouse Calgary (13-2) offense that is on a 4-2 run over the total, including the last two games tallying 33 and 31 points. Calgary took care of business in Winnipeg last week, beating the Bombers by a 33-23 score. The win clinched first place for the Stamps for the second straight season. Calgary beat the Riders 31-24 back in Week 15 a year ago when they last met on this field and this total is also too low (the over is 5-2 the last 7 meetings). A pair of 7-1 division leaders meet in a huge game, tied atop the CFL West. Have to back the home team as the Edmonton Eskimos are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 meetings. Edmonton has a major question mark behind center as QB Mike Reilly's status for Labour Day Classic is in question with a hand injury. After sitting out the majority of the Eskimos' 41-27 win last weekend over the Toronto Argonauts, in which he injured his thumb in the first quarter on Saturday, Reilly was at least in good enough health to have a role in Thursday's walk-through practice. Edmonton is off a win but the Eskimos are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a spread cover. And this Calgary team is loaded on both sides of the ball, on a 4-1 ATS run. Calgary just won at Edmonton last month, 26-22, despite 15 penalties and 10 punts, so grab the home team in this showdown. Play Calgary!

Reason: Winnipeg (5-3) is in a mild slump, but the perfect medicine comes to town: a Montreal team that can't score. Winnipeg has gotten good play from young QB Drew Wily and WR Clarence Denmark has played every game and is having a career year, second in the league in receiving yards. Winnipeg is home and plays as unconventional defensive being schemed by Bombers defensive co-ordinator Gary Etcheverry. That will cause problems for this Montreal offense that is awful, scoring 5, 5, 23 and 11 points the last four games (all losses). In fact, they are riding a 5-game skid. Winnipeg is 5-1 ATS the last seven meetings and the Alouettes are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Winnipeg, so grab home field. Play Winnipeg!
