06-10-18 | Cardinals v. Reds +110 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 110 | 3 h 22 m | Show |
St. Louis at Cincinnati 1:10ET Reds over Cardinals- The 'Baker's Dozen' for St. Louis as they have defeated the Reds for the 13th straight time and 11th straight at the Great American Ball Park. The Cardinals will start Carlos Martinez (3-2, 1.83 ERA) who has been shaky since his return but is 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA at Cincinnati and is 7-3 overall against the Reds. With the line what it is Las Vegas is telling me he will continue to struggle as Cincy hurler Anthony DeSclafani (0-1, 7.20) and is making his second start of the season after missing all of 2017. He is 4-1 with a 2.13 ERA in seven career appearances against the Cards and breaks the spell today. Take CINCINNATI! |
06-09-18 | Mariners v. Rays -135 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 6 h 48 m | Show |
Seattle at Tampa Bay 4:10 ET Rays over Mariners- Two clubs moving quickly in opposite directions as Seattle has moved into first place in the AL West one-game ahead of Houston while Tampa Bay has lost their last eight. The Rays were 2-games above the break-even point before their losing streak and today they send out their 'stopper' Blake Snell (7-3, 2.36 ERA) who threw six shutout innings against the Mariners last Sunday. The Mariners will start Felix Hernandez (6-4, 5.33) who is 9-2 with a 1.89 ERA in 17 career starts against the Rays and my questions is why would a team on an 8-game losing streak be such a strong favorite against a team that has won 16 of their last 20. The 'stats' that surround this meeting are one-sided but the Las Vegas odds are reversing the 'number.' I trust Vegas...take TAMPA BAY! |
06-09-18 | Padres v. Marlins +105 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 41 m | Show |
San Diego at Miami 4:10 ET Marlins over Padres- In 1993 I took my 'poppy' to the Florida Marlins inaugural game an 8-0 win over the Dodgers. He had turned off baseball after the '84 strike and it took some doing to get him to go the the game as he was very bitter' about the players letting down America. As a small payback for all the times he took me to the Polo Grounds (NY Giants), Ebbets Field (Brooklyn) and Yankee Stadium I insisted that he go and it was great. This weekend the original Marlins (Jeff Conine) are celebrating their 25th anniversary and like that first Marlins club that was expected to be the worst in baseball the team showed more then people expected. The same goes with this year's version as they are again expected to be the 'worst.' But, this club has more talent then people realize and they show it again today. Take MIAMI! |
06-08-18 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -103 | Top | 9-4 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
Arizona at Colorado 8:40 ET Rockies over Diamondbacks- For the most part since the Rockies joined the NL they have had one of the strongest if not 'the' strongest home field advantage in baseball. This season things have turned upside down for Colorado as they are a dismal 11-16 but surprisingly enough Arizona is just 2-11 in their last 13 road games. First place is at stake tonight as there is just a half-game difference in the standings between these clubs as they will repeat a March 31 matchup between Zack Greinke (4-4, 3.44 ERA) and German Marquez (4-5, 4.38). In the first matchup Marquez surrendered allowed an unearned run and only four hits in five innings. Take COLORADO! |
06-07-18 | Mariners v. Rays +102 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Seattle at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Mariners- Hey, has anyone checked the standings in the AL West? Well, it has the Mariners on top of the division with a full game lead (two in loss column) over Houston. Seattle had won five straight before their loss to the Astros last night and are facing Tampa Bay who has dropped their last six. Veteran Mike 'Klepto' Leak (5-3, 4.71 ERA) will start for the Mariners who swept (3-0) the Rays at home last weekend and they are 5-0 in Leak's last five starts. Tampa Bay will start Ryne Stanek (1-1, 3.65) is expected to start and go an inning or two before the managerial 'genius' gets to use five or six relievers. But, pitching has not been the Rays problem as they have score just 12 runs in their six-game losing streak. Although they are 2-8 in the last 10 games Stanek has pitched it won't matter as he won't be around that long. Take TAMPA BAY! |
06-06-18 | Phillies v. Cubs -130 | Top | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Chicago Cubs 8:05 ET Cubs over 76ers- Two of the better NL clubs will play their second of a 3-game set in Chicago after the Phillies took the first meeting 6-1 ending the Cubs four game win streak. Philadelphia will start budding ace Aaron Nola (7-2, 2.18 ERA) who has posted nine quality starts in his last 10 outings and is 1-0 lifetime with a 4.70 ERA in his lone career start against the Cubs. Chicago will start Jose Quintana (6-4, 4.30) who has won two of his last three starts. Take the CUBS! |
06-05-18 | Rockies v. Reds +101 | Top | 9-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
Colorado at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over Rockies- Cincinnati has dropped their last two and is off a 3-6 road trip which included a series loss at Colorado. The Rockies have lost their last four all at home and will start Kyle Freeland (5-5, 3.43 ERA) who is 1-1 in a pair of starts against the Reds. Cincinnati will start Anthony DeSciafani who is making his first start of the season and first appearance since 2016 and has no decisions against the Rockies with one career start. This time it's...CINCINNATI! |
06-03-18 | Rays -104 v. Mariners | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Seattle 4:10 ET Rays over Mariners- Hard to believe that Seattle is in first place in the AL West percentage points ahead of Houston as they have won their last three and 12 of their last 15. Now, in the mist of their hottest streak of the season they send Felix Hernandez (5-4, 5.83 ERA) to the hill against Blake Snell (7-3, 2.56). So, the Rays open the favorite on the road against 'King Felix' 8-2 record and 1.94 lifetime ERA against Tampa Bay. Snell is 1-1 lifetime with an ERA of 0.87 in two starts against the Mariners. Numbers don't lie and they say that the Rays are the side here. Take TAMPA BAY! |
06-02-18 | Phillies v. Giants -117 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show |
Philadelphia at San Francisco 10:05 ET Giants over Phillies- This is my 'Don't Make Sense' winner as their is very little evidence to support my 'side!' But, it's not about the players now is it anyway. (Ck NBA Finals Game 1) The Phillies will be starting Vince Velasquez (4-5, 4.08 ERA) and he has been over-powering in his last five starts going 3-1 while striking out 36 in just 27 innings. Meanwhile, the Giants will be starting Suarez (1-4, 5.65) and he has gotten worse as the season moves on. Well, here's the thing. Velasquez opened -125 and the line jumped to the Giants as the favorite as the 'money' poured in on San Francisco. I may be wrong but my instincts smell a rat. Take a shot with the GIANTS! |
06-02-18 | Reds +103 v. Padres | Top | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
Cincinnati at San Diego 8:40 ET Redlegs over Padres- Oh boy! I get to bet Matt Harvey (1-3, 5.63 ERA). Since being traded from the Mets to Cincinnati he is 1-1 with a 3.72 ERA and he is 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA lifetime against the Padres. His stats are not all that great but the banana that's starting for San Diego has been even worst as Eric Lauer (1-3, 7.67 ERA) is just terrible with opponents batting .359 against him with a 2.08 WHIP. Take CINCINNATI! |
06-01-18 | Red Sox v. Astros -117 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 11 h 51 m | Show |
Boston at Houston 8:10 ET Astros over Red Sox- Looking for strike-outs, look no further as the AL's top two K leaders face-off on Minute Maid Park in Houston where the Astros will start Gerrit Cole (5-1, 2.05 ERA) who leads the league with 109 strikeouts and ranks second in WHIP (0.83) and opponents battings average (.169). Boston will start lefty Chris Sale (5-2, 2.76) who has 104 strikeouts in 75 innings and is 5-1 with a 1.31 ERA in six starts against the Astros. But, this one goes to HOUSTON! |
05-31-18 | Nationals v. Braves -117 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Washington at Atlanta 7:35 ET Braves over Nationals- A couple of under-appreciated pitchers will take the hill tonight as the Braves start Sean Newcomb (5-1, 2.75 ERA) and Washington will send out Tanner Roark (2-4, 3.17). Roark who is 7-2 with a 2.77 ERA lifetime mark against Atlanta and has surrendered only 46 hits in 65.1 innings while Newcomb has given up just 42 hits in 55.2 innings. Newcomb has won his four starts in May while posting a 0.36 ERA allowing opponents a .110 batting average. Take ATLANTA! |
05-30-18 | Cardinals -114 v. Brewers | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -114 | 4 h 52 m | Show |
St. Louis at Milwaukee 1:10 ET Cardinals over Brewers- Milwaukee who leads the NL in wins haven't dropped two straight since losing four in-a-row on April 26-29. They will start Junior Guerra (3-3, 2.98 ERA) who has limited the opposition to two runs or fewer in seven of his nine starts and ended a three game losing streak his last time out against the Mets (does that count). The Cardinals will start Alex Reyes who makes his 2018 debut has been untouchable in thee minors striking out 44 in just 23 innings. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-29-18 | Nationals v. Orioles -105 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 59 m | Show |
Washington at Baltimore 7:05 ET Orioles over Nationals- Washington has won four straight and is just a half-game behind Atlanta as their pitching has held opponents to three runs or less in six of their last seven games. Jeremy Hellickson (1-0, 2.13 ERA) who was a starter for Baltimore last year has surrendered one or no runs in each of his last four starts and is 4-4 with a 5.80 ERA at Camden Yards. The Orioles will start Dylan Bundy (3-6, 4.45) who set a MLB record two weeks ago by giving up seven runs without recording an out but has rebounded in strong fashion. He is coming off a 14 strike out two-hit complete game. Take BALTIMORE! |
05-28-18 | Cardinals +100 v. Brewers | Top | 3-8 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 59 m | Show |
St. Louis at Milwaukee 2:10 ET Cardinals over Brewers- The storyline behind this matchup is that Milwaukee the winningest team in the National League have won five straight series and three straight games. Yet, the Brewers are home underdogs to St. Louis who trails them by two full games. Brent Suter (4-3, 4.56 ERA) who has won his last two starts is 0-2 lifetime against the Cardinals with a 3.80 ERA while the 'Red Birds' with start Luke Weaver (3-4, 4.31) who is 2-1 with a 4.40 ERA in his career versus Milwaukee. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-27-18 | Diamondbacks v. A's +100 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 24 m | Show |
Arizona at Oakland 4:05 ET Athletics over Diamondbacks- Arizona will need their former Cy Young Award winning ace Zach Greinke (3-3, 3.71 ERA) to stop the bleeding as their downward spiral continues. The D'backs broke a seven-game losing streak with a win Friday in the series opener but fell Saturday for their 14th loss in their last 16 games. Oakland will counter with Frankie Montas who was called up from Triple-A to make this start in place of Trevor Cahill who is getting an extra-days rest. Greinke who has one of the best home pitching records in all of baseball has struggled on the road going 1-3 with a 6.94 ERA. The fact that he is an underdog here gives me...OAKLAND! |
05-26-18 | Twins v. Mariners -117 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 54 m | Show |
Minnesota at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over Twins- Very quietly the Mariners has managed to stay a float (30-20) despite having had six different players having spend time on the disabled list and Robinson Cano being suspended for half the regular season. Minnesota who has struggled scoring runs this year will start Jake Odorizzi (3-2, 3.17 ERA) who is unbeaten in his last five starts but is 1-3 with a 4.11 ERA in seven career starts against the Mariners. Seattle is 16-8 against the AL Central and take this game too. Take SEATTLE! |
05-25-18 | White Sox +100 v. Tigers | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Detroit 7:10 ET White Sox over Tigers- A pair of the lesser talented teams in MLB face each other as they have two of the five worst records in all of baseball. Chicago started the season 10-29 but have managed to go 5-3 in their last eight contests while the Tigers who has already swept (3-0) the White Sox finally won after dropped their previous four. The Sox will start Reynaldo Lopez (1-3, 2.98 ERA) who lost a start to Detroit while allowing just one unearned run over seven innings. Mike Fiers (4-3, 4.57) gets the start for the Tigers and he is 2-0 lifetime against Chicago. Lopez has been a hard luck hurler surrendering just 40 hits in 54.1 innings. Take WHITE SOX! |
05-24-18 | Royals -114 v. Rangers | Top | 8-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 5 m | Show |
Kansas City at Texas 8”05 ET Royals over Rangers- Texas has won two straight and is coming off a huge 3-game set against the New York Yankees winning the series 2-of-3 including yesterday's 12-10 slugfest. The Royals have picked up the pace as well winning their last two and will be sending lefty Danny Duffy (1-6, 6.88 ERA) to the hill and he is favored with that kind of record on the road. Does that seem 'right' to you...not to me. Bibens-Dirkx will replace Matt Moore in the rotation and if you can't beat out Moore you aren'y very good. Take KASNAS CITY! |
05-23-18 | Braves +111 v. Phillies | Top | 0-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Braves over Phillies- These two will meet for the 12th time tonight in this early season with the first-place Braves taking 7-of-11 but they will not play again until late September. Tonight, Philadelphia will start their huge off season acquisition Jake Arrieta (3-2, 2.82 ERA) who has surrendered just two runs or less in seven of his eight starts and is 3-1 with a 2.76 lifetime against Atlanta. The Braves will start Luiz Gohara (0-0, 1.29) who has allowing just one run in seven innings of work this season. Gohara made one start against the Phillies last season as he had nine strikeouts in seven innings while allowing just one run. The Braves are 11-5 in the last 16 meetings. Take ATLANTA! |
05-22-18 | Marlins +103 v. Mets | Top | 5-1 | Win | 103 | 9 h 59 m | Show |
Miami at New York Mets 7:10 ET Marlins over Mets- The banged-up Mets have won their last four and will send Zach Wheeler (2-3, 5.92 ERA) to the mound against Miami who most consider the worst team in baseball. The Marlins have lost their last three and will send left-hander Caleb Smith (2-5, 4.22) who has pitcher better then his record indicates. I hate saying that but Smith has allowed just 32 hits in 43 innings and just needs a little more support offensively from his teammates while Wheelers has surrendered 42 hits in 38 innings. Even though he is 3-1 lifetime against Miami, Wheeler appears to be one of the Mets deep staff that just doesn’t make the grade. Take MIAMI! |
05-22-18 | Angels v. Blue Jays +100 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 3 m | Show |
L.A. Angles at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Angels- With the best road record (14-4) in MLB the Angels will send Garrett Richards (4-2, 3.47 ERA) out against one of his AL nemesis as he is 2-3 with a 5.74 ERA against the Blue Jays and 1-2 with a 5.12 ERA at Toronto. The home club who has lost their last four will send left-hander J.A. Happ (5-3, 4.15) to the hill and seeing him as an underdog brings questions. I though why, until I saw his lifetime record against Los Angeles as he is 1-6 with a 6.17 ERA in seven career starts against Los Angeles. This is Happ's tenth start of the season and he has allowed just 46 hits in 56 innings and gets the win tonight. Take TORONTO! |
05-21-18 | Braves v. Phillies -114 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 40 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Phillies over Braves- Both these clubs were expected to be bottom feeders this season and they have turned the standings upside down. Atlanta has a 1.5-game lead in the NL East and the team that they are ahead of is Philadelphia. A balanced lineup and improved pitching has been the key for both squads as their starting rotations have allowed one less run per game this season. Atlanta will start Mike Foltynewicz (3-2, 2.87 ERA) who is making his fourth start of the year against the Phillies and is 1-0 with a 2.12 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 17 innings. Philadelphia will start Nick Pivetta (3-2, 3.72) has given up just one run on six hits with 18 strikeouts in his last two starts. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
05-20-18 | Padres +120 v. Pirates | Top | 8-5 | Win | 120 | 3 h 8 m | Show |
San Diego at Pittsburgh 1:35 ET Padres over Pirates- The Padres are last in MLB getting on base but are brimming with confidence after posting consecutive road wins at Pittsburgh where the Pirates have dropped two straight for just the second time this season. San Diego will send 'Near Perfect' Jordan Lyles (1-1, 2.53 ERA) against a club he has never beaten going 0-5 with a 7.82 ERA in nine appearences. His mound opponent will be the Buc's Trevor Williams (5-2, 2.72) who is making his first career start against the Padres but is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA at home this season. San Diego is 9-8 this month after a slow start (10-20) in April and now Pittsburgh has dropped their last two after winning eight of nine. Follow the trend take...SAN DIEGO! |
05-19-18 | Phillies v. Cardinals -126 | Top | 7-6 | Loss | -126 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
Philadelphia at St. Louis 2:15 ET Cardinals over Phillies- This is the third of a four-game series and they have split the two previous game with St. Louis winning Friday 12-4 with this biggest offensive output of the season. The loss was just the Phillies 2nd in their last nine games and they will send rookie Zach Eflin (1-0, 0.71 ERA) to the mound to face the Cardinals for the first time. The 'Red Birds' will start John Gant (1-1, 4.15) who is taking the spot in the rotation vacated by injured ace Carlos Martinez. The Cards seem to have the Phillies number as they have won 16 of the last 21 meetings. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-18-18 | Padres +125 v. Pirates | Top | 3-2 | Win | 125 | 9 h 4 m | Show |
San Diego at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Padres over Pirates- Things have not gone as expected with the Pirates as they are one of the better hitting teams in the NL and their 'ace' Ivan Nova has not pitched like a No. 1 starter. Nova hasn't won since April 15 and las allowed 14 earned runs in his last three starts. Still, Pittsburgh has won eight of their last nine and will face San Diego's Tyson Ross (2-3, 3.40 ERA) who has 53 strikeouts in 48 innings. In pitching comparison Nova has surrendered 60 hits in 50 innings while Ross has given up just 37 hits in 48 innings. Take SAN DIEGO! |
05-16-18 | Brewers -110 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 8-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Arizona 3:40 ET Brewers over Diamondbacks- In a truly 'Don't make sense' situation the Brewers come up the favorite at Arizona where they have beaten Milwaukee seven of the last 10 meetings. To further my claim of 'Don't make sense' Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff (1-0, 8.03 ERA) who has surrendered 19 hits in just 12 innings and will be opposed by the D'backs Matt Koch (1-1, 2.79) who has given up just 25 hits in 33.1 innings. These numbers just don't add up...Take MILWAUKEE! |
05-14-18 | Rockies v. Padres -106 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -106 | 12 h 2 m | Show |
Colorado at San Diego 10:10 ET Padres over Rockies- If you want to find out who these two clubs have done against each other in their last 10 meetings one only has to go back to April 2nd as this is the 11th meetings between these two already this season. The Rockies have managed wins in six of those 10 meetings and are 15-7 in the last 22 but have lost four of their last five overall and are struggling to put the ball in play. Colorado has struck out 60 times in their last six games and will be facing Joey Lucchesi (3-2, 2.98 ERA) who has 46 strike outs this season in 42 innings. Lucchesi is 1-0 against the Rockies allowing two earned runs and has 15 K's in just 11 innings. Take SAN DIEGO! |
05-13-18 | Nationals +120 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 6-4 | Win | 120 | 11 h 52 m | Show |
Washington at Arizona 8:08 ET Nationals over Diamondbacks- Things have started to 'turn' for both these clubs but in different directions. Washington was won three straight and have won 12 of their last 14 while Arizona has lost four straight and a series for the first time this season. Pitching has been the key for the Nationals as they have taken the D'backs down 2-1, 3-1 and 2-1 and tonight they send Jeremy Hellickson (1-0, 2.28 ERA) to the hill and he has allowed three or fewer runs in all five of his starts this season. The Nationals have won 17 of the past 22 meetings in Arizona and get one more win tonight. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-12-18 | Cardinals v. Padres +103 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 103 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
St. Louis at San Diego 8:40 ET Padres over Cardinals- This is going to be a difficult game to justify as the Padres are last in the NL West and have so many short-comings. To start with they have the lowest On-Base-Percentage of any team in baseball and the only team under .300 OBP. They are just 8-17 at home and have lost seven of their last wight meetings against the Cardinals. But, there is one bright spot for San Diego and that is starting pitcher Tyson Ross (2-3, 3.67 ERA) who has allowed just 34 hits in 41.2 innings of work but has received kittle offensive support. Tonight, San Diego will hopefully put enough runs together to win at home. Take the PADRES! |
05-11-18 | Rays v. Orioles -123 | Top | 4-9 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:05 ET Orioles over Rays- Tampa Bay has cooled off since their eight-game winning streak and have lost their last three and six of nine since. The Rays will start Jake Faria (3-1, 4.15 ERA) who has won his last three decisions and is 1-0 with a 4.78 ERA against Baltimore. The lowly Orioles will start their lone bright spot on the hill as Kevin Gausman (2-2, 3.30) gets the starts and he has had four quality starts in his last five outings including nine shutout innings last Saturday posting a 2.26 ERA. Looking better...take BALTIMORE! |
05-10-18 | Red Sox +130 v. Yankees | Top | 5-4 | Win | 130 | 8 h 27 m | Show |
Boston at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Red Sox over Yankees- True blue baseball fans are excited about what the season will bring from what they have seen in the AL East. The Yankees and Red Sox are battling in what is considered baseball's greatest rivalry and they are matching each other blow-for-blow. Boston started the season winning 17 of their first 18 with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Yankees. Now, it's New York that is 17-1 in their last 18 and have taken over the AL East lead. Both clubs will send an undefeated hurler to the hill tonight as Boston sends Eduardo Rodriguez (3-0, 5.29 ERA) to the bump and he has had great support (Sox 6-0 in his starts) with his teammates giving him 7.2 runs per outing. The Yankees will send CC Sabathia (2-0, 1.39) to the mound and he has dominated Boston going 4-0 with a 1.04 ERA in four starts last season. The Red Sox look to leave town even with New York and get the win tonight. Take BOSTON! |
05-09-18 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -118 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
Arizona at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Diamondbacks- Boy, this one hurts. With the bases loaded and only one out the Dodgers failed to push across the winning run last night and lost in 12. When looking at the 'numbers' surrounding this contest it is all one-sided as the Diamondbacks have dominated this series that past two regular seasons. The pitching matchup appears one-sided as Arizona's Patrick Corbin (4-0, 2.15 ERA) has thrown 13.1 innings against the Dodgers this season allowing just one run but, his lifetime record against them is just 4-9. Alex Wood (0-3, 3.83) has not picked up a win despite allowing no more then three runs in five of his seven outings. This time he picks up the win. Take LOS ANGELES! |
05-09-18 | Pirates v. White Sox +105 | Top | 6-5 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 1 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET White Sox over Pirates- The White Sox have turned the home field 'advantage' into something different as they have won just three of 17 games as hosts. Chicago has now lost four in-a-row and at 9-24 are second worst to the Orioles. Pittsburgh has been a huge surprise out of the gate as their lineup has provided runs for their starters including Trevor Williams (4-2, 2.63 ERA) who has allowed just 27 hits in 41 innings. Chicago's bright spot on the mound is Reynaldo Lopez (0-2, 2.43) who has yet to win as he has received just 2.8 runs per game support. Lopez has allowed just 28 hits in 37 innings as he looks to take the Pirates down here as they are 3-9 in their last 12 road games. Take CHICAGO! |
05-08-18 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -123 | Top | 8-5 | Loss | -123 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
Arizona at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Diamondbacks- Arizona is beginning to run away with the NL West as the Dodgers are trying to stay within range until their depleted line-up gets healthy. The Diamondbacks have won 10 series with one split (2-2) and it was against the Dodgers last week. With three players going on the DL in their 3-7 road trip Los Angeles will start Rich Hill (1-1, 6.00 ERA) who will be coming off the DL to get the start. He is a horrid 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA in 10 career starts versus Arizona as the Dodgers are 3-7 against the D'backs this season. Tonight the Dodgers suck it up behind Hill. Take LOS ANGELES! |

05-06-18 | Cubs v. Cardinals -107 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 38 m | Show |
hicago Cubs at St. Louis 8:05 ET Cardinals over Cubs- Aside from the Yankees/Red Sox this is the most intense series in baseball. St. Louis is a win away from sweeping the Cubs in this three-game set. Chicago will send Jon Lester (2-1, 2.73 ERA) who appears to have regained his previous form as he has not allowed a run in three of his six starts and defeated the Cards in April when allowing just one run in six innings. St. Louis will send Michael Wacha (4-1, 3.62) to the hill and he has won four straight decisions and St. Louis has won each of his last five starts. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-05-18 | Astros -116 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -116 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
Houston at Arizona 8:10 ET Astros over Diamondbacks- A pair of veterans whose careers are moving in opposite directions will face-off in Phoenix tonight as Arizona's four time All-Star Zack Greinke (3-2, 4.50 ERA) take the mound against the Astros' Charlie Morton (4-0, 1.72). The West Division leading Diamondbacks have dropped three straight for the first time this season and now face Morton who is 4-1 with a 3.57 ERA in seven career starts against Arizona. Greinke who was 13-1 at home last season and 2-0 this year have been established as an underdog against Morton who has allowed just 23 hits in 36.2 innings. Take HOUSTON! |
05-04-18 | Tigers v. Royals -127 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
Detroit at Kansas City 8:15 ET Royals over Tigers- The Royals had lost 10 straight at home but have turned things around at Kauffman Stadium winning their last four. Detroit like Kansas City is not expected to compete this season and have lost All-Star and former MVP Miguel Cabrea to the DL with a strained hamstring. The Tigers are sending Francisco Liriano (3-1, 3.38 ERA) who is 8-5 with a 4.21 ERA lifetime against the Royals who will send veteran Ian Kennedy (1-3, 3.48) who is 3-4 with a 4.01 lifetime ERA. The fact that the Royals are 'hot' at home averaging 6.2 runs makes them the side to me. Take KANSAS CITY! |
05-03-18 | A's v. Mariners +110 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 110 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
Oakland at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over A's- With all the 'big' names and quality pitchers Oakland's Sean Manaea (4-2, 1.03 ERA) was named AL Pitcher of the Month holding opponents to a .134 batting average and on base percentage (.178) the lowest in the majors. In eight career starts against Seattle Manaea is 4-3 with a 3.88 ERA. The Mariners start Wade LeBlance (0-0, 4.61) will be making his first start since August 2016 and is 2-0 lifetime against Oakland. Take SEATTLE! |
05-02-18 | Yankees -123 v. Astros | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 60 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Houston 8:10 ET Yankees over Astros- There is something 'rotten' about this match-up. Houston's Dallas Keuchel (1-4, 4.00 ERA) has dominated the Yankees with the Astros going 6-2 in his starts against New York with Keuchel throwing to a 1.41 ERA in six starts including two shutouts. Add that the Astros are 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Houston and they are 45-21 in their last 66 overall. But, New York has won 13 of their last 16 and will be sending Luis Severino (4-1, 2.61) to the hill and he is 0-1 with a 8.38 ERA in three appearances against the 'Stros. So, why are the Yankees favored? It's because Keuchel is out of sync. Take the YANKEES! |
05-01-18 | A's +105 v. Mariners | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 39 m | Show |
Oakland at Seattle 10:10 ET Athletics over Mariners- Seattle just completed their longest road trip of the season and returned home after winning seven of 10 on their trip. The Mariners return to Safeco Field where they are just 5-5 and will have former Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez (3-2, 4.96 ERA) on the hill bringing his 25-10 lifetime mark against the A's with him. But, things are different now for the 32-year old who has had just two quality starts in six starts and the Vegas oddsmaker has seen the difference. Oakland is start Andrew Triggs (2-0, 4.70) who is off his best outing of the year. Take the ATHLETICS! |
04-30-18 | Blue Jays v. Twins -113 | Top | 7-5 | Loss | -113 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
Toronto at Minnesota 8:10 ET Twins over Blue Jays- The Twins were 'bombed' out of New York getting swept in a 4-game series had lost eight straight before a win over the Reds. Toronto has been nothing to brag about as they had dropped six of seven before defeating Texas their last time out. Although Toronto has dominated this series winning 51 of the last 72 meetings but Minnesota won four of seven meetings last season. The Twins Lance Lynn (0-2, 7.71 ERA) is 0-2 with a 2.25 ERA lifetime against the Blue Jays and looks tp pick up his first AL win. Take MINNESOTA! |
04-29-18 | Yankees v. Angels -108 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
New York Yankees at LA Angels 8:07 ET Angels over Yankees- The Yankees have reeled off eight straight wins aided by a power packed line-up that have hurt you from top to bottom. Former Cy Young Award winner CC Sabathia (1-0, 1.86 ERA) has been though of my Yankee fans as the weak link in the rotation. Off the DH CC had his best and longest stint of the season picking up his first win against the Twins last time out. He is 9-9 lifetime against the Angels with a 3.91 ERA. LA has lost seven of their last eight at home and will counter with Tyler Skaggs (3-1, 2.96) who is facing the Yankees for the first time, that is to his advantage. Look for the Angels to rebound from Saturday's beating. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-28-18 | Braves v. Phillies -130 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -130 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 6:05 ET Phillies over Braves- My first though is 'how many times do these two play each other?' This is the eighth meeting already this season as each has played about 1/3rd of their games against each other with Atlanta holding a 4-3 series lead. There are two trends surrounding this game that can not be ignored. To start with Philadelphia is 5-0 in Nick Pivetta's (1-0, 2.57 ERA) starts while the Braves are now 1-11 in Mike Foltynewicz's (1-1, 2.77) last 12 starts. Add that the Phillies are 13-4 in their last 17 overall and 22-8 in their last 30 home games...take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-27-18 | Reds +103 v. Twins | Top | 15-9 | Win | 103 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Minnesota 8:10 ET Redlegs over Twins- Minnesota just finished a 10-game road trip 0-7 which included three games cancelled by an April blizzard in Chicago and the blown 3-run lead against the Yankees yesterday. Cincinnati who may be the worst team in baseball have dropped seven of their last nine and 15 of 18. The Reds will start Luis Castillo (1-3, 6.51 ERA) who has pitched five innings in each of his five starts while the Twins starter Phil Hughes (0-0, 5.40) struggled in his lone appearance against Tampa Bay allowing five hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. Somehow it's...CINCINNATI! |
04-26-18 | Mariners -103 v. Indians | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Seattle at Cleveland 6:10 ET Mariners over Indians- Both these clubs are off to decent starts to the season as the Indians have won four of their last five and Seattle has won four of their last six games. The Mariners will start left-hander James Paxton (1-1, 5.61 ERA) who has been inconsistent this season after a stellar 2017 when he was 12-5 with a 2.98 ERA. Paxton is 0-3 lifetime against Cleveland with a 5.87 ERA including an Opening Day loss while giving up six runs in four innings. Mike Clevinger (2-0, 1.75) who has never faced the Mariners as he is making just his 36th career start. The Indians have only two true right-handed hitter in their lineup and today Paxton makes adjustments and Seattle who is 6-2 on the road get it done. Take SEATTLE! |
04-25-18 | Diamondbacks v. Phillies -107 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
Arizona at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Phillies over Diamondbacks- This is a great pitching match-up as a pair of former Cy Young Award winners face-off in Philadelphia. Zack Greinke (2-1, 4.13 ERA) takes the mound for Arizona and the Phillies will counter with the fee-agent signing Jake Arrieta (2-0, 2.04). Both these guys are off stellar performances as Arrieta allowed just an infield hit with 10 K's in a 7-0 win over Pittsburgh while Grienke surrendered just two-hits in seven innings in his 3-1 win over the Giants. The D'Backs are 11-4 against the Phillies since the beginning of 2016 but this version of the 'Wiz Kids' is different. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-24-18 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays +104 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 104 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
Boston at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Red Sox- Well, the old adage is 'what goes up must come down' and the Red Sox who started the season with a loss and then won 17 of 19 before their recent stumble. Boston has now dropped their last two and will start Rick Porcello (4-0, 1.40 ERA) who is 9-9 lifetime against Toronto including 4-6 with a 4.99 ERA at the Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays will counter with J.A. Happ (3-1, 4.50) who is 7-3 with a 3.22 ERA in 17 appearances against the Red Sox. The visitor is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings in Toronto but the Jays are 7-1 in their last eight home games. Boston may have rouble regaining their 'mojo' for a while as they slide after their long run of great play. Take TORONTO! |
04-23-18 | Nationals v. Giants +105 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 105 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
Washington at San Francisco 10:15 ET Giants over Nationals- I may be pushing the envelope a bit here playing against Washington for the third straight night but I still don't believe (aside from their starting pitching) that they are championship caliber. The Nationals whose line-up has some glaring holes will be without Anthony Rendon is has been placed on the Disabled list and will be starting Gio Gonzalez (2-1, 2.49 ERA) who is 5-4 with a 3.06 ERA in 12 career starts against the Giants. San Francisco will start Chris Stratton (1-1, 2.22) who has allowed just 15 hits in 24.1 innings and has a WHIP of 0.90. Take the GIANTS! |
04-22-18 | Nationals v. Dodgers -176 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
Washington at L.A. Dodgers 8:05 ET Dodgers over Nationals- Doesn't the 'price' seem exceedingly high? It does to me! The first thing that seems unlikely to me is that both these clubs are 1-game under .500 after 21 games and the winner here will reach the break-even mark. The Dodgers are heavy favorites here and that is based on the pitching matchup. Los Angeles is starting Alex Wood (0-2, 3.91 ERA) who has pitched in bad luck and poor support in his four starts but is 4-3 with a 2.51 ERA in 10 career starts against the Nationals. Washington is starting Jeremy Hellickson (0-0, 3.86) who is pitching to a WHIP of 1.71 and is 0-1 with a 6.88 ERA at Dodgers Stadium. Note that the Nationals are 7-13 against the Dodgers the past three seasons and LA is 81-36 in their last 117 home games. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-21-18 | Nationals v. Dodgers +107 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 107 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
Washington at L.A. Dodgers 9:10 ET Dodgers over Nationals- Despite being the heavy favorite in the NL East I just don't believe in the Washington Nationals. Sure, their front line pitching is superb, starting Max Scherzer last night and Steven Strasberg (2-1, 3.08 ERA) tonight but I just don't think they are that good overall. Their defense is weak and their lineup has holes and their relief pitching leaves much to be desired. But, they do have Bryce Harper and when healthy Daniel Murphy they can hurt you, but you can keep the rest of it. Struggling Los Angeles will counter with Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-0, 2.87) who has struck out 17 in his last 12 innings of work holding opponents to a .164 batting average with a 0.96 WHIP. Take the DODGERS! |
04-20-18 | Mariners v. Rangers -115 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
Seattle at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Mariners- Whoa, the Seattle bats have taken 'time-off' as they have lost four of their last five scoring 2,1,1,2,1 in their last five games with all games at home. Traveling to Texas the Mariners look to change things around against the cellar dwelling Rangers with Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez (2-2, 5.48 ERA). The problems for them is that Hernandez has more career losses (24) against Texas then any MLB club. Texas will start Mike Minor (1-1, 4.60) has allowed just 10 hits in his last three starts with a 0.96 WHIP while he is 1-1 versus the Mariners with a 1.64 ERA in four appearances. Take TEXAS! |
04-18-18 | Red Sox v. Angels -118 | Top | 9-0 | Loss | -118 | 12 h 47 m | Show |
Boston at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Red Sox- Well, so much for the 'new' Babe Ruth. Shohei Ohtani made his pitching debut against a 'real' MLB team (2 previous starts against Oakland) and was knocked off the mound after two innings. Tonight, Boston will start Rick Porcello (3-0, 1.83 ERA) two years removed from his Cy Young season and off the disaster of 2017 (11-17). He has always had difficulties against the Angels posted a 6-7 record with a 5.67 ERA including 1-4 with a 5.82 ERA in Anaheim. Los Angeles will start Tyler Skaggs (2-0, 1.69) has had three solid starts and gets it done tonight. Take the ANGELS! |
04-17-18 | Phillies +100 v. Braves | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:35 ET Phillies over Braves- Considering who these two teams are expecting a pitching battle is a bit of an anomaly but we have one today. Philadelphia is starting second year man Nick Pivetta (1-0, 2.70 ERA) who is 3-0 in four career starts against the Braves. Atlanta who has defeated the Phillies 3-of-4 this season will start Mike Foltynewicz (1-1, 2.93) who is 3-2 with a 4.39 ERA in eight career starts against the 'Wiz Kids.' The Braves were the last team to record a save with a scoreless ninth inning last night and tonight they fall short. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-16-18 | Astros v. Mariners +105 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 105 | 12 h 40 m | Show |
Houston at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over Astros- Two of the premier left-handers who are winless this season oppose each other tonight in Seattle where the World Series Champion Houston Astros will start Dallas Keuchel (0-2, 4.20 ERA) and the Mariners start James Paxton (0-1, 5.74). After an opening night meltdown Paxton has had two solid performances and is ready to post a win here. The Astros Keuchel struggled to find his command and has a WHIP of 1.80 while allowing 18 hits in 15 innings. Although the Astros are 23-9 in their series including the last six games last season it's the Mariners turn. Take SEATTLE! |
04-15-18 | A's -112 v. Mariners | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show |
Oakland at Seattle 4:10 ET Athletics over Mariners- The first thing that attracts my attention here is that Seattle's 'King' Felix Hernandez (2-1, 6.60 ERA) is an underdog at home and to the Oakland Athletics to boot. When we see that he is 25-9 with a 2.60 ERA lifetime against Oakland 'we' have to be impressed but the 'King' has been shelled his last two outings and hasn't been the 'same' all spring. In an oddity we find that Seattle is just 2-8 in their last 10 Sunday games while the Athletics close the week 11-3. A's starter Sean Manaea (1-2, 1.74) has the lowest ERA of any pitcher with two losses and get the win today. Take OAKLAND! |
04-14-18 | Brewers +106 v. Mets | Top | 5-1 | Win | 106 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Milwaukee at New York Mets 7:10 ET Brewers over Mets- New York's 'Dark Knight' Matt Harvey (0-0, 3.60 ERA) looked as though he has returned to form allowing just one-hit to the Phillies in his season's opener but reverted to his previous appearances allowing four runs and nine hits in five innings. Milwaukee will start Chase Anderson (0-1, 3.38) who is 1-2 against the Mets while Harvey is 0-1 against the Brewers. The Brew Crews bats come alive here. Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-13-18 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -130 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -130 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
Arizona at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Diamondbacks- The Dodgers who are expected to win their 6th straight NL West title have gotten off to a rocky start (4-7) and can use a big win here to start the weekend. Despite winning the West, Los Angeles has dropped nine straight regular season games the D'backs who are 17-8 in their last 25 road games. The Dodgers are 61-25 in their last 86 home games and will be starting Kenta Maeda (1-0, 0.00) who has pitched just six innings and was 0-3 against Arizona last season. This year it starts differently. Dodgers need it and get it here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-11-18 | Angels v. Rangers -101 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Angels- It was about four years ago Matt Moore (0-2, 11.05 ERA) lost it all, due to arm issues he lost his velocity and has been totally ineffective since. Even this season as a Texas starter he has been bombed twice in a pair of outings surrendering 19 runs on 12 hits along with four walks is just 7.1 innings of work. Yet, the Rangers who have lost three straight are favored here against the Angels who have won three straight and are 5-1 on the road. LA also leads the 'Bigs' in runs scored, hits and homers This game 'smells' to 'High Heaven' even if Moore is 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA lifetime against Los Angeles. Take TEXAS! |
04-10-18 | Rays -107 v. White Sox | Top | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET Rays over White Sox- After defeating Boston on Opening Day the Rays had to wait 10-days before posting another win. Tampa Bay broke an 8-games losing streak last night defeating the White Sox 5-4. Tonight they will be sending Blake Snell (0-1 5.00 ERA) who is 1-0 against Chicago lifetime and has not allowing a run in 9.2 innings of work against them. Carson Fulmer (0-0, 5.50) will get the nod for the Pale Hose and and pitches on a bad day (Tuesday). Who knows what it is but, The Rays are 11-5 the last 16 Tuesdays while the Sox are 7-19 on Tuesday. Bad day for White Sox. Take TAMPA BAY! |
04-09-18 | Blue Jays v. Orioles -110 | Top | 7-1 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
Toronto at Baltimore 7:05 ET Orioles over Blue Jays- The Orioles who have won three of their last four pulled off the most surprising win yesterday in New York where they spotted the Yankees a 5-0 lead in the first inning but battled back for the win. Baltimore will be starting their ace Dylan Bundy (0-0, 0.69 ERA) who just love pitching against the Blue Jays as he is 3-0 with a 0.76 ERA in seven career appearances. Toronto will start J.A. Happ (1-1, 5.40) who is just 4-6 against Baltimore including 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA at Camden Yards. Take the ORIOLES! |
04-08-18 | Blue Jays -112 v. Rangers | Top | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 7 m | Show |
Toronto at Texas 3:05 ET Blue Jays over Rangers- Toronto's Jaime Garcia (0-0, 1.50 ERA) made his Blue Jays debut with a six inning one run performance against the White Sox Monday and received a no-decision. Today, he faces the Texas ace Cole Hamels (1-1, 3.38) who is making his third start of the season this afternoon. Hamels has struggled against the Jays and is 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA in four career starts while Garcia is 2-2 lifetime against the Rangers. Add that Toronto is 23-12 against the Rangers the past four seasons including 16-7 in the last 23 meetings in Texas. Take TORONTO! |
04-07-18 | Diamondbacks v. Cardinals -106 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 27 m | Show |
Arizona at St. Louis 2:15 ET Cardinals over Diamondbacks- This line makes very little sense to me as the Diamondbacks who have won four straight and are 6-1 (their best start in franchise history) send their ace Zack Greinke (0-0, 1.59 ERA) to the hill against St. Louis and the line is a virtual pick-em. St. Louis is sending Michael Wacha (0-1, 7.71) to the mound who has struggled the past two seasons including in his opener when he was bombed by the Mets allowing four runs and five hits in less then five innings. The answer is because the Cardinals are 20-9 in the lasT 29 meetings against Arizona. Take the DIAMONDBACKS! |
04-06-18 | Reds -110 v. Pirates | Top | 3-14 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Reds over Pirates- I will term this my first 'Don't make sense' game of the season. Here we have the Pirates who have won five of six games so far this season and are at home against the 1-4 Reds and they are the underdog. So, let's look at the pitching matchup and we find Pittsburgh starter Trevor Williams (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is off six shutout innings without allowing a hit while Cincinnati's Luis Castillo (0-1, 10.80) was pounded for six runs and six hits including two homers in five innings against Washington. So, for the Reds to be favored just doesn't make any sense. Las Vegas appears to like the visitor here...so will I. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-05-18 | Cubs v. Brewers +107 | Top | 8-0 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
Chicago at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- Last season the Brewers led the NL Central from April until late September when Chicago took over and in the off-season they made some major moves to deal with the Cubs. Tonight, Jon Lester (0-0, 8.10 ERA) will get the start after a poor Opening Day performance against Miami and he brings a 3-2 lifetime record with a 2.77 ERA against Milwaukee. Brent Suter (1-0, 5.40) is just 0-1 versus the Cubs but a stellar 4-1 with a 3.23 ERA at Miller Park. Take the BREWERS! |
04-04-18 | Mariners v. Giants -121 | Top | 1-10 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
Seattle at San Francisco 7:15 ET Giants over Mariners- A great matchup of two of MLB's aces as Seattle's Cy Young winner Felix Hernandez take to the hill against the Giants while San Francisco will start hard throwing Johnny Cueto. 'King Felix' is 3-0 lifetime against the Giants but has never pitched never in San Francisco. Cueto is 1-1 lifetime against Seattle with a 2.84 ERA pitched six perfect innings in his opening start against the Dodgers without a decision. Tonight he gets the win. Take the GIANTS! |
04-03-18 | Indians v. Angels -132 | Top | 2-13 | Win | 100 | 12 h 8 m | Show |
Cleveland at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Indians- The 'beat goes on' when these two play. Cleveland (Megabucks winner) defeated the Angels for the 12th straight time last night and have won 16 of the last17 meetings and 22 of the last 24 in the series. In last night's 6-0 loss the Angels heavy hitters fell flat as Mike Trout, Justin Upton, Albert Pujols and Kole Calhoun were hitless in 13 at-bats. That will not happen tonight as Los Angels breaks the losing streak to the Indians behind Garrett Richards who struggled Opening Day. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-02-18 | Indians -113 v. Angels | Top | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
Cleveland at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Indians over Angels- Well, the much anticipated debut of Shohei Ohtani was a success as the Angels defeated Oakland 7-4 with Ohtani picking up the win. Being that he pitched Sunday he Ohtani will not be in the lineup as a hitter tonight. Cleveland has won 11 straight over Los Angeles and will send Mike Clevinger who is 2-0 with a 3.94ERA lifetime against the Angels while JC Ramierz is 0-1 with a 3.75 ERA against the Indians. Look for the Tribe to get it down here. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-01-18 | Yankees v. Blue Jays -107 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 2 h 22 m | Show |
N.Y. Yankees at Toronto 1:07 ET Blue Jays over Yankees- The Yankees dream of an undefeated (162-0) season ended Saturday as what is supposed to be the best bullpen in baseball fell apart when it counted most. After a big splash opening day the Yankees power bats (Judge and Stanton) have been silent. New York's powerful lineup has taken a number of hits to its outfielders as they lost their third to injury already. Marcus Stroman gets the nod and he is 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA lifetime against the Yankees and get the win here. Take TORONTO! |
03-31-18 | Twins v. Orioles +108 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 4 m | Show |
Minnesota at Baltimore 7:05 ET Twins over Orioles- The Orioles managed a a walk-off win on Opening Day the third straight year for an defeating the twins 3-2 in 11 innings. Tonight Baltimore will start newly acquired Andrew Cashner who was 11-11 last season with Texas had just two spring training appearances as he was signed late and that is just now enough work. Kyle Gibson will start for Minnesota who finished last season with six straight wins. The beat-goes-on. Take the TWINS! |
03-29-18 | Phillies -120 v. Braves | Top | 5-8 | Loss | -120 | 19 h 35 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Atlanta 4:10 ET Phillies over Braves- A pair of clubs that are in the rebuilding stages but the Phillies are much further along than Atlanta. It's difficult to get a true 'feel' this early in the MLB season but what Ive seen and learned (more out of Vegas) is that Philadelphia who won only 66 games last season has a betting win total number of 77.5 (before Arrieta signing) in Las Vegas. The bookmakers are expecting a huge improvement and the fact that of those 66 wins last season 13 came against Atlanta in 19 meetings. Take PHILADELPHIA! |

11-01-17 | Astros +149 v. Dodgers | Top | 5-1 | Win | 149 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Houston at L.A. Dodgers 8:00 ET Astros over Dodgers- There may be nothing more exciting (Super Bowl excepted) sporting even in America than a World Series Game 7. The Dodgers won the most games in baseball and their reward was this Game 7 at home instead of that ridiculous All-Star game crap. Yu Darvish who was battered in Game 3 will be opposed by Astros Lance McCullers who also struggled in his Game 3 appearance. These two team won 205 games combined and tonight the Astros win their first ever World Series. Take HOUSTON! |
10-31-17 | Astros v. Dodgers -114 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show |
Houston at L.A. Dodgers 8:00 ET Dodgers over Astros- Okay, there are a couple of reasons that I will be on the Dodgers. To start with my good friend Larry Ness says 'take the team facing elimination,' this way you protect yourself from losing both the final two remaining games. I don't really care for that (although it makes sense) as I see it as a chance to WIN the remaining two games. Well, enough of that. Justin Verlander has been amazing since coming over from Detroit going 9-0 with a 1.53 ERA. However, he has never won a World Series game and is 0-3 with a 6.43 ERA in four career starts. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-27-17 | Dodgers +123 v. Astros | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Houston 8:00 ET Dodgers over Astros- Here I was thinking, when the Dodgers were leading 3-1 in Game 2, that if they win and go up 2-0 in the Series that the Astros would win the next three in Houston. Well, that thought was blasted out of Dodger Stadium in record breaking fashion. Now, the 'momentum' has shifted to the 'Home of NASA.' (When in Houston take the NASA tour if you can!) The Astros are a different team when at home and they will be in their comfort zone where they are 20-7 in their last 27 when playing as hosts. Yet, there will be familiar figure standing on the mound against them when Yu Darvish takes the ball. The Dodgers have a thing about Friday nights (21-5) and are 8-2 in the post-season. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-20-17 | Yankees +125 v. Astros | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -100 | 22 h 10 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Houston 8:00 ET Yankees over Astros- I don't know if it is a 'mojo' or 'thumbs down' ora around the Yankees and it is something I don't want to play against. I know they have had difficulties hitting Verlander but they didn't make contact at the plate against Keuchel for four years but managed to beat him when the needed it most. Luis Severino can be as dominate as any pitcher in baseball in any ball park. New York has to just force this game in respective bullpens. Take YANKEES! |
10-18-17 | Astros v. Yankees +107 | Top | 0-5 | Win | 107 | 7 h 29 m | Show |
Houston at New York Yankees 5:00 ET Yankees over Astros- The Yankees started both playoff series 0-2 but have managed to go 5-0 at Yankee Stadium to defeat Cleveland and even the series against the Astros. Now, they are up against it as Houston will start 'Yankee Killer' (no not Frank Larry...how many of you know about him and his record against the 1950's championship Yankees team) Dallas Keuchel who has dominated New York and is 4-0 with a 1.69 ERA in five postseason games while striking out 10 Yanks in his Game 1 start. New York will go with their 'hottest' pitcher in Masahiro Tanaka who closed the year by going 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA in his last six starts at home. New York has won 10 of their last 21 at home. Take the YANKEES! |
10-17-17 | Dodgers v. Cubs -107 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
L.A.Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 9:00 ET Cubs over Dodgers- The Dodgers who had the best record in baseball have won their last seven and have a 2-0 lead over the World Champion Chicago Cubs. The series turns to the 'Windy City' where the Cubs won 49 times this season including their last three games. Chicago has their backs against it and they will send last years ERA leader Kyle Hendricks (1-0, 3.27 ERA) to the hill and he is 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA in nine post-season starts. Yu Darvish (1-0, 1.80 ERA) has returned to his all-star form allowing only two runs in his last four starts. But, the Cubs need this or for all for the most part their season ends. Take CHICAGO! |
10-14-17 | Yankees +123 v. Astros | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 37 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Houston 4:00 ET Yankees over Astros- Well, the 'Beat goes on' as far as Dallas Keuchel and the Astros are concerned as they took Game 1 of the ALDS 2-1. Keuchel has dominated the Yankees in the past and he hut them down once again recording a career high in strikeouts (10) in seven innings of work without allowing a run. This afternoon Houston will send out Justin Verlander who wen t 7-0 with a 1.48 ERA in seven starts since coming over from the Tigers. New York will counter with Luis Severino who posted a 0.89 ERA over his last six road starts and finished the season 6-1 with a 2.24 ERA away from home. Take the YANKEES! |
10-12-17 | Cubs -106 v. Nationals | Top | 9-8 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
Chicago at Washington 8:05 ET Cubs over Nationals- Washington once again is playing peek-a-boo with their starting pitcher as the dazed and confused Dusty Baker is trying to ambush the Cubs. Chicago, meanwhile is going with last season's ERA leader Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks started Game 1 for Chicago and he quieted the Nationals bats with a two-hit and six strike-out performance besting Steven Strasburg. He is 2-1 with a 1.98 ERA in eight playoff performances. Baker is 'not sure yet' he will start showing a lack of confidence and doubt no matter who starts. Take CHICAGO! |
10-09-17 | Dodgers -108 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Arizona 10:10 ET Dodgers over D'Backs- There is something 'Rotten in Denmark'. Maybe I need a re-evaluate the situation but Arizona will be starting Zack Greinke (17-7, 3.20 ERA) who is one of the most difficult pitchers to hit solid. But, Greinke has struggled of late finishing the season by allowing 14 runs in less then 12 innings including lasting just 3.2 innings against the Rockies his last time out. Greinke is 3-3 with a 3.92 ERA in 10 post season appearances. Yu Darvish (10-12, 3.86) took a while to heat-up for the Dodgers but he finished the season by allowing just one run on his last 19.1 innings. Tonight it is LOS ANGELES! |
10-07-17 | Diamondbacks +132 v. Dodgers | Top | 5-8 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 45 m | Show |
Arizona at L.A. Dodgers 9:00 ET Diamondbacks over Dodgers- This matchup has me sweating from my mouth as Game 2 of this series plays tonight with the Dodgers holding a 1-0 lead. Now, normally I don't like coming back with a team that lost the day before but there are some delightful stats relating to this encounter. Let us begin with the starting pitchers. Arizona will start Robbie Ray (15-5, 2.89 ERA) who won his last six decisions and was 3-0 with a 2.27 ERA with 53 strikeouts in 31 innings against the Dodgers this season. Los Angeles will start Rich Hill (12-8, 3.32) who was 0-3 with a 5.03 ERA against the Diamondbacks. Take ARIZONA! |
10-05-17 | Yankees +130 v. Indians | Top | 0-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Cleveland 7:30 ET Yankees over Indians- There are two things that I found interesting in this contest. To start with I am surprised that the 'price' of this contest is a bit low for the way Cleveland has dominated the AL the past month including Trevor Bauer (17-9, 4.19 ERA) who is on the mound and is 9-1 in his last 13 starts. The Yankees raised an eyebrow when it was decided Sonny Gray (10-12, 3.55) would start after going 4-7 in 11 starts for New York. Aaron Judge has his 'mojo' back and that aids his teammates who become better at the plate when he hits. Take the YANKEES! |
10-04-17 | Rockies v. Diamondbacks -162 | Top | 8-11 | Win | 100 | 23 h 8 m | Show |
Colorado at Arizona 8:00 ET Diamondbacks over Rockies- Okay, let me start by saying I hate these one-game playoffs but this one gives us 'numbers' and trends that are difficult to ignore. Arizona is back in the playoffs for the first time since 2011 while it was 2009 the last time Colorado make the post season. In head-to-head action this year the D'backs took the season series 11-8 while going 52-29 at Chase Field. Zack Greinke (17-7, 3.20 ERA) take the hill for the Arizona at home where he dominated going 13-1 with a 2.87 ERA and he is 9-5 lifetime against the Rockies. Jin Gray (10-4, 3.67) is 2-2 lifetime against the Diamondbacks with a 4.75 ERA. Finally, Colorado is 1-7 in their last eight playoff games and 2-7 in their last nine against Arizona. D'backs 6-2 at home in last eight. Numbers have it! Take ARIZONA! |
09-25-17 | Cubs v. Cardinals -126 | Top | 10-2 | Loss | -126 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
Chicago at St. Louis 8:15 ET Cardinals over Cubs- Chicago has completed the first part of their goal of qualifying for the post season and now have a 'magic' number of two to win the NL Central. These two clubs have as fierce of rivalry as any teams in baseball and the Cubs have dominated what is usually a tightly contested series winning 11 of 15 meetings. Jon Lester (11-8, 4.56 ERA) will start for the Cubs and is 1-1 with a 3.28 ERA this season and is 4-4 lifetime. St. Louis will start Luke Weaver (7-1, 2.05) who has won his last seven decisions with a 1.61 ERA since his lone loss. Take ST. LOUIS! |
09-22-17 | Rays -106 v. Orioles | Top | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Baltimore Rays over Orioles- Both these clubs are having thoughts of getting to the links as the Orioles have now lost 12 of their last 15 games and Tampa Bay has dropped nine of their last 13. Alex Cobb (11-10, 3.63 ERA) gets the start for the Rays and has given up a total of just nine runs in his last six starts but his teammates have failed to give him support as he has gone 2-3 in that span. Cobb is 5-2 lifetime against Baltimore in 11 career starts while the O's starter Ubaldo Jimenez (6-10, 6.57) is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA the three games this season. Take TAMPA BAY! |
09-21-17 | Cubs -128 v. Brewers | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Cubs over Brewers- Two weeks ago the Brewers invaded Wrigley Field for a 3-game series and swept the Cubs and now trail Chicago by just 3.5 games with 11 games remaining. Jake Arrieta (14-9. 3.48 ERA) who has helped the Cubs turn things around is 6-2 with a 1.98 ERA since the All-Star break. He has also had his way against the Brewers going 8-4 with a 2.79 ERA in 14 career starts. Zach Davies (17-9, 3.89) has had a great season to date but he's a heavy underdog at home and I think I know why. Take the CUBS! |
09-20-17 | Royals +108 v. Blue Jays | Top | 15-5 | Win | 108 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
Kansas City at Toronto 7:05 ET Royals over Blue Jays- The Yankees keep beating the Twins but Kansas City can't make up any ground on their Wild Card chances because they are faltering down stretch losing their last three and five of their last six. Tonight the Royals will start hard throwing rookie Jake Junis (7-2, 4.15 ERA) who has not allowed more then three runs in any of his last seven starts posting a 4-0 record and has surrendered just three homers in his last nine starts. Toronto will start Brett Anderson (3-3, 5.73) is coming off his shortest stint as a starter for the Blue Jays after being released by the Cubs. Take KANSAS CITY! |
09-19-17 | Indians v. Angels -105 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
Cleveland at L.A. Angels 10:10 ET Angels over Indians- Now let me get this straight, the Indians have won 24 of their last 25 games and they come up an underdog here against a team that isn't even in the playoff picture. Cleveland has moved ahead of Houston by 1.5 games for the best record in the American League and home field advantage in the playoffs. Los Angeles still has a shot as the trail Minnesota by 1.5 games for the final Wild Card spot. The Indians clinch their division on Saturday and may feel 'relaxed' entering this contest. Tyler Skaggs (2-5, 4.37 ERA) earned his first win since April 22 against the Astros last Wednesday and has put together a pair of quality starts. Take LOS ANGELES! |
09-18-17 | Red Sox v. Orioles -120 | Top | 10-8 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
Boston at Baltimore 7:05 ET Orioles over Red Sox- In April many were picking the Orioles to win the AL East and here they are 4-games under .500 with 12 games left in the season trailing Minnesota by 5.5 for the final Wild Card spot. Baltimore did beat the Yankees Sunday to close their road trip 2-8 while Boston remained 2.5 games in front of New York. Doug Fister (5-8, 4.40 ERA) starts for Boston and he is 4-3 lifetime against the O's. Baltimore will start Dylan Bundy (13-9, 4.03) who is 3-4 lifetime against the Red Sox. Bundy who is making just his second start in two weeks has won five of his last six decision and has had six quality starts in his last seven outings. Take BALTIMORE! |
09-17-17 | Dodgers +135 v. Nationals | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Washington 8:08 ET Dodgers over Nationals- Well, I guess the demise of the Dodgers was short lived as they have bounced back to win their last four games after losing 15 of 16 games. Los Angeles has a seven game lead over Washington for the best record and home field advantage in the NL. Washington will send ace Stephen Strasburg (13-4, 2.64 ERA) to the hill who has gone 34 consecutive innings without allowing a run and is 1-2 with a 2.82 ERA in six starts against Los Angeles. The Dodgers will start Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-7, 3.59) who has had 10-days rest and is 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA in five road starts since the All-Star break. The Nationals are in a bit of a slump scoring just nine runs in their last five games losing four. Take the DODGERS! |
09-16-17 | Pirates v. Reds -110 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 4:10 ET Reds over Pirates- The Reds hit four solo homers Friday in their win against Pittsburgh and scored just four runs in their victory. The Pirates are sending what was their best for most of the season to the mound as Ivan Nova (11-13, 4.25 ERA) starts for the Bucs. He is 2-7 with a 6.62 ERA in his 10 starts since the All-Star break including getting blasted for seven runs against Cincinnati three weeks ago. Rookie Sal Romano (4-6, 4.54) has surrendered three runs of fewer in each of his last five outings with his lone loss in that span coming at the hands of Pittsburgh. Today he gets the win. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-15-17 | Pirates v. Reds -105 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over Pirates- With 15 games left in the season these two clubs are thinking more about tee times then baseballs as neither team has much if any chance to make the post season. Both clubs enter this affair stumbling as Pittsburgh has lost seven of their last eight games and the Reds are off a 2-7 road trip. The Pirates will start Chad Kuhl (7-10, 4.21 ERA) and he has been very effective the second half of the season posting a 2.99 ERA. Homer Bailey (4-8, 7.26) starts for Cincinnati and he is winless in his last five starts but earned a win over the Pirates working six innings on August 1 and is 9-6 with a 3.48 ERA lifetime against the Bucs. Take the REDS! |
09-13-17 | Marlins v. Phillies -118 | Top | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show |
Miami at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Phillies over Marlins- As Giancarlo Stanton pace for home runs declines the wins for the Marlins fall off exponentially. Miami has lost 13 of their last 15 and have fallen out of the Wild Card competition with less then 20 games remaining. Philadelphia has been out of the Wild Card hunt since spring training but will send their best to the hill in Aaron Nola (10-10, 3.71 ERA) who has struggled against the Marlins this season going 0-3 with a 10.67 ERA. Miami will start Dan Straily (9-8, 3.95) who is 3-1 lifetime against the Phillies but the 'Wiz Kids' are hitting .315 against him. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
09-12-17 | Pirates v. Brewers -114 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee 7:40 ET Brewers over Pirates- The Brewers were completely shut down Monday getting only one hit while losing to the Pirates 7-0 after sweeping the Cubs three straight to fall 4-games back in the NL Wild Card chase. Milwaukee will try and get back into the fray with left-hander Brent Suter (2-2, 3.55 ERA) who has made five appearances against Pittsburgh with an ERA of 1.80. Gerrit Cole (11-9, 3.93) who has an ERA of 3.27 in his last 16 outings will get the start for the Buc's and is 3-3 with a 3.21 ERA in 11 career starts against the Brewers but is just 1-2 with a 4.71 ERA at Miller Park. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-09-17 | Reds -101 v. Mets | Top | 1-6 | Loss | -101 | 6 h 12 m | Show |
Cincinnati at New York Mets 7:10 ET Reds over Mets- Oh, break up the Mets...their 'future' Jose Reyes is providing the power they need for their Wild Card push and is starting and has pushed his average to .238. My pint is that they are pitiful and come up and underdog at home after winning their last three. Some kid named Flexen (3-4, 7.85 ERA) and he hasn't been so effective giving up 2.04 WHIP and it will be the Reds 'Flexin' with this guy on the hill. Cincinnati will start Homer Bailey (4-7, 7.24) hasn't been that much better but he facing a Triple-A line-up tonight. Take CINCINNATI. |
09-08-17 | Angels v. Mariners -122 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over Angels- Seattle who was in the thick of the AL Wild Card hunt two weeks ago went out and acquired veteran right-hander Mike Leake (8-12, 4.14 ERA) who came up big in his first start for his new club limiting Oakland to a pair of singles in seven innings. But, the Mariners have lost three straight and eight of their last 11 to fall 4-games back of Minnesota. Los Angeles is starting Ricky Nolasco (6-12, 5.08) who is unbeaten in his last seven starts but is 2-4 with a 4.36 ERA in nine career starts against Seattle. Tonight it is the MARINERS! |
09-07-17 | Reds -113 v. Mets | Top | 2-7 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
Cincinnati at New York Mets 7:10 ET Reds over Mets- Oh, how I love this...Matt Harvey (4-4, 5.97 ERA) who three years ago refused to pitch down the stretch so that he could save his career was going to pitch on three days rest yesterday (after a minor league rehab outing) but manager Collins decided to push him back because of the weather. Granted he is 3-0 with a 2.48 ERA in five career starts against Cincinnati but he has opened an underdog at home and against the Reds no less. Now, consider that Tyler Mahle (0-1, 2.45) is making his first career start and he is favored on the road and the Reds are just 25-43 on the road. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-05-17 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -120 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -120 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
Arizona at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Diamondbacks- As my good friend Harry Truman used to say “The buck stops here.” Having hit their first lull of the season the Dodgers who 10 days ago were 55-games over .500 but have lost four straight and 9-of-10. Arizona on the other hand couldn't be any hotter as they have won their last 11 including a 3-game sweep of Los Angels in Arizona last week. The D'backs will start Zack Greinke (16-6, 3.08 ERA) who is seeking his MLB in wins against his former clubs who he is 4-4 with a 4.03 career ERA. The Dodgers will start Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-7, 3.71) who is 3-3 with a 4.02 ERA in nine starts against Arizona. With Paul Goldschmidt the D'backs fall short tonight. Take the DODGERS! |
09-04-17 | Rangers v. Braves -103 | Top | 8-2 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Texas at Atlanta 7:35 ET Braves over Rangers- Texas, believe it or not is still in the AL playoff hunt as they reached the .500 mark and trail Minnesota by just 3-games with just 26 games remaining. Very quietly the Rangers have are 5-1-1 in their past seven series and will be sending Andrew Cashner (8-9, 3.30 ERA) their most effective hurler the second half of the season to the hill. Since July 1 he is 5-2 with a 2.58 ERA allowing two runs or fewer in five of his past six starts. The Braves will start former Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey (9-8, 3.91) who is 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA in nine career appearances against Texas. He has had seven quality starts in seven of his last nine starts and gets the nod today. Take ATLANTA! |
09-03-17 | Angels -123 v. Rangers | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -123 | 4 h 16 m | Show |
L.A. Angels over Texas 3:05 ET Angels over Rangers- The Angels bailed 'us' out with a come-from-behind victory scoring two runs in the ninth to tie and three in the 10th to win it over the Rangers yesterday. Sunday it won't be so difficult as Los Angeles closes in on the final AL Wild Card spot. Texas will start Martin Perez (10-10, 4.89 ERA) who won his fifth consecutive start on Tuesday but comes up the underdog here. Andrew Heaney (1-0, 5.63) starts for LA and he is coming off his best start of the year allowing just one run in six innings while striking out 10. The Angels are in need and are playing better baseball. Take LOS ANGELES! |
