Others made it to 110, 113, 123 and 110. Brown scores 15 ppg, Thompson 14 and Fieler 12 ppg.
Florida played two games with Kentucky that reached 118 and 121. They did get to 142 with Minnesota but 126 with NW State, 129 in a loss to Mississippi in the SEC Tourney and 112 with Alabama.

Kansas' games with 3-point shooting Iowa State ended with 161 and 180 (before OT). UNC does have Bullock and Hairston to shoot 3's and McAdoo to score inside. If UNC is down, they will foul and put the Jayhawks on the line.

Take the over as LIU can score and give up points. They played a game with UNC two years ago that ended with 189 points and 156 with Michigan State last year in the NCAA tourney. JMU is an average team with upperclassmen. They did play a 100-70 game with UCLA to open the year, 146 with Richmond (before OT), 158 with UNCG, 151 with W&M, 143 with Delaware and 145 with Towson. Last year they played a 152 point game at Detroit and 175 with Lasalle and 155 with Rider out of conference.
JMU is led by Reshawn Goins 12.7 ppg, Davis 12 ppg and PG Devon Moore at 11.5 ppg and 5 assists/game.

Md is led by Mark Turgeon who focuses on defense and is led by Alex Len inside as well as Dez Wells, who had 30 last night vs. Duke in an impressive win where they put up 85 points as a team.
P'Shon Howard, Jake Layman and Nick Faust can add points for the the underdog Terps.
UNC went over with FSU yesterday by a few points. The Tar Heels are 20-10 ATS this year and will be happy not to see Duke as they were 0-2 vs. the Devils. UNC likes to run with Roy Williams as coach and led by inside player James McAdoo, as well as Reggie Bullock and PJ Hairston. Marcus Paige is a freshman PG for the Tar Heels.

Princeton vs. Penn over 124
I usually look for playing unders in the Ivy League, especially when the Columbia Lions had a streak of 17 unders in a row in recent years.
Princeton looked like they were in the driver's seat to win the league but surprise losses ended that. They now play on the road at Penn. The Tigers have played 16 overs, 5 unders and a push in their last 22 away from home. The average Princeton game score is 64-58 (122 points) while Penn's is 63-68 (131). They played an earlier game that ended 65-53 (118) but last year's game at Penn reached 149 points.
Princeton's last few on the road reached 147 at Brown and 137 at Yale. They have nothing to lose but to go out and try to win tonight. They are led by Ian Hummer's 16 ppg on 52% FG and Koon 10 ppg on 54% FG.
Penn's last few games:
Yale 144 Brown 130 Harvard 147 Dartmouth 133 Columbia 99 Cornell 150
Penn is led by Cartwright 14 ppg and Hicks 10 ppg. Princeton may come out and play great defense after playing poorly this past week but there is no pressure on either team so I expect to see some points if they can make some 3's.

Clemson gets 12.5 ppg from Booker, 10.5 from McDaniels and 10 from Milton Jennings. They play solid defense and try to win by slowing it down. They are a solid .500 team at 13-13 while UNC has 19 wins.
The Tar Heels did play a 128 points game with Georgia Tech. Clemson has played 9 unders, 3 overs and one push on THursdays. UNC with Coach Roy Williams likes to play fast but I think we see them play to Clemson's pace as that will keep them in the game.

college BB
10* Mississippi State/UNC over 141 (6pm) This game is being played in Maui. It is a small gym and it should be hot in there. It is played on a neutral court and there should be a good chance for points. UNC has played 3 games in the mid-130's but finally made some 3's in their last game and point guard Marcus Paige played well. McAdoo can score inside for the Tar Heels. MSU scored 78 at home vs. FAU. They get points from Thomas, Johnson, Ware, Sword and Lewis. It does concern me that neither team shoots free throws well but UNC is favored by 17 and they like to play fast.
These two played a game two years ago that reached 150 points but the rosters have changed.

I think we see an under as these teams play their third game in four days. NCSU played a high scoring game in their last game but the game with Penn State ended with 127 points scored. Oklahoma State played a 107 point game inits last one and their second game went inot OT with 134 points. The Cowboys will want to keep this low scoring.
The Wolfpack has been impressive so far but I think we see a game in the low to mid-130's on Sunday.

Neither team has played a game above 140 yet. UNC played two home games in the 135 range. Now the Tar Heels travel to California to face Long Beach State, a team they have played twice in the last few years but a completely new team from last year. Those games were high scoring (one was 96-91) but UNC has a freshman point guard (Marcus Paige) and has only shot 9/19 and 8/21 from the line.
LBSU just played a game at USC that ended with under 100 points. The 49ers will be at home in their Pyramind and should try to control pace and not get into a shootout with UNC, who have made just 7 3-pointers in two games. McAdoo should score inside but Bullock, Hairston and Leslie McDonald have struggled from outside.
I like our chances for an under at 146.

Boston College vs. Baylor 3pm 10* over 139.5
Baylor has played a 99-77 game with Lehigh which is 176 points. Their other game versus a weaker team was a very low score. They have now played 7 overs/1 under in the last 8 games while BC has 6 overs in its last 8. Their only game was 84-70 at home where they struggled to make 3's but did get 29 fromRyan Anderson, 12 from Clifford and 12 from Patrick Heckmann.
I think Baylor helps the pace and surely, BC will need to make some 3's to stay in this. Baylor probably wins and covers but take the over.

FAU at UNC 2:30pm eastern over 144
This will be UNC's second home game. They just played on Friday night and won 76-59 (135 points) against Gardner Webb. UNC played poorly on offense as they made just 1/13 3-pointers and just 9/19 from the line. McAdoo did score 26 points and Strcikland was the only other Tar Heel in double figures with 13. Marcus Paige did not get a single assist.
I would expect Bullock, McDonald and Hairston to score more from the outside and for Paige to relax and play better.
FAU plays Troy in fast paced games. Their two meetings last year reached 165 and 155 points. They were led by Greg Gantt at 14 ppg last year. UNC plays decent defense and needs to improve their offense with their young players.
This should go over 142 points under Roy Williams' system of running and playing fast.

under 144 Kansas only made one 3-pointer against NCSU and the game ended with less than 120 points scored. UNC's game with Ohio stayed under even with OT.
The Tar Heels did not play with Kendall Marshall and if he plays won't be 100%. Stilman White only scored 2 points and had 6 assists but was real careful in not passing inside for stelas. UNC still had 24 turnovers. UNC doesn't shhot 3's or FT's well and that should hurt the over.

Mercer at ODU 7pm Wed. (March 21, 2012) over 128
ODU just played SC Upstate on Sunday and the game went UNDER but it was played at the Norfolk Scope, an arena a few miles from the campus. They were using their regular facility for the women's tournament. ODU is on an 8-1-1 over run and let's look at their recent home games at the TED (Ted Constant CC):
Coastal Car 134 (made 9 3's) Del 162 (made 9 3's) Drexel 145 UNCW 145 VCU 132 JMU 151
ODU doesn't shoot very well from the field or the FT line but they have great rebounders and get points from senior Kent Bazemore (15.4 ppg). Cooper adds 10.5. Trian Iliadis is out with an injury but Wright, Batten, Hill and Ross can score.
Mercer hasn't played many true road games lately but let's look at their recent away games:
at No Fla 141 at Jackson 156 at Kenn 118 (the only low score) at FL GC 141 at Stetson 139 at SC Up 139 at ETSU 137
Earlier road games at Belmont (160 points) and Lipscomb (151) reached high scores. Here are the Mercer scorers:
Hall 11.7 Cecil 11 Gallon 10.7 Thomas 8.5 (scored 19 in the last 2) Coursey 8.2 (62% FG) Smith 8
Mercer has played under 15-5-2 in the last 22 but many of their games aren't lined. I wouldn't be shocked to see an under but suggest a play on the over. Hopefully, we get a 70-65 type of game. GL!

We get one of the fastest teams in the nation in UNC and they will be playing in Greensboro in front of Tar Heel fans. They are off a bad loss to FSU after playing 3 games in the ACC Tourney. Now they get to play Vermont in the #1 vs. #16 game. Vermont has scoring options:
McGlynn 12 ppg Glass 12 Apfeld 10 Bald 7.7 Carissimo 7
Vermont has been playing small schools like Sacred Heart, New Hampshire and Stony Brook. They did play Niagara and made it to 168 in a 92-76 score. 145 points with Boston, 145 Iona, 155 LIU and 159 with Marist.
UNC may not have Henson at 100% but he is a shotblocker to keep the score down. VT has 11 overs in its last 13 non-conference games. UNC hasn't played a non-conference game since December and will get the ball inside to Zeller and Barnes and Marshall will get all involved. Hairston is from Greensboro and McAdoo will get inside.
Vt. shoots 74% from the line and that is good.

This will be the third game in 5 days for UNCA but VMI's 4th game in 6th days. VMI depends on Keith Gabriel and Stan Okoye to score as both are in double figures. Their two games with UNCA made it to 175 and 179 but there should be a little defense in this one to determine who represents the Big South in the Big Dance.
Last year, UNCA beat Coastal Carolina by 60-47 after VMI and CC played a 89-81 game.
UNCA has played 116, 150, 143, 132, 122, 122, 147 and 155 points in the last 8 games while VMI has played 108, 153 and 130 point games in the tourney so far. The Keydet totals before that reached 138, 147, 138, 171 and 145.

Duke at Wake Forest 9pm est (Tuesday 2/28/2012) under 143.5
Duke just played a 70-65 (135 points) overtime at home vs. Virginia Tech. They have UNC on Saturday. They play at Wake Forest tonight in Wake's last home game. WF has won their last two at home rather easily vs. weak teams (BC, Ga Tech). The first meeting ended in the 160's as Andre Dawkins made 7 3-pointers early in the game and the Deacons ended up shooting over 30 foul shots.
WF is led by two solid scorers (CJ Harris and Travis McKie). The role players average 10 points or less. They do have some good rebounders and shotblockers like Ty Walker and Carson Desrosiers. WF has played unders in 12 of their 14 ACC games and only the home game vs. UNCW ended above 143.
In the games against UNC, FSU and NCSU the Demon Deacons only scored 53, 52 and 40 points. The ACC home games reached 141, 109, 136, 121, 127, 116 and 113 points.
Duke on the road in the ACC opened with 154 points at Georgia Tech, but here are the totals since:

UNC at Miami 8pm Wed. (Feb. 15, 2012) under 146.5
UNC is a fast paced team but they have played unders in 32 of their last 47 in the ACC. Their last road game was a high scoring game at Maryland that made it to 157 points as the Terps shot 27 foul shots. UNC's other road games made it to 121 (Wake Forest), 140 at VT and 147 at FSU when the Noles put up 90 by themselves.
The first meeting between these teams ended 73-56 (129 points) as Miami didn't play well. The last few meetings have seen 129, 120 (ACC Tourney when UNC made 10 3-pointers!), 145 (last year at Miami), 131, 134 and 147 (at the Dean Dome vs. the Tar Heel team that won the tiitle).
Here are Miami totals:
123 114 138 (before OT with Duke) 138 (before OT with Md) 130 123 151 with NCSU 149 with Clemson
UNC is not deep and as they have had to play Stillman White as a backup PG and suffered injuries to McDonald, Strickland and Hairston. Tyler Zeller has played well lately inside and with Henson and Barnes, the Tar Heels have solid weapons. Kendall Marshall is a nice PG who is always looking to attack.
Miami gets points from Reggie Johnson inside. He played well vs. Duke but did struggle badly in the first game with UNC. Malcolm Grant and Durand Scott are good guards but have struggled this year. Barry Larkin's son has shown promise as a PG for the Hurricanes.
On the year the Tar Heel games have averaged 150 points (includes early nonconference blowouts) and Miami's are at 137 ppg (and that includes several overtime games).
Miami would be smart to play a slow type of game vs. UNC and not get into a run and gun game. I could see some late 3's and FT's helping this go over but like the under. GL!

Virginia has played 3 overs and 16 unders this year and just played a 70-52 (122) game at UNC. UVA/Clemson played earlier and it was 65-61 (126 points) and the o/u was set at 112.5.
Virginia lost shotblocker Assane Sene earlier and he is the only key player with more than 9 blocks. The Cavs average games are 63-52 (115) while Clemson's are 65-60 (125). These two did play a 49-47 game last year at Virginia.
On the road here are the UVA ACC scores:
at UNC 122 at FSU 113 at NCSU 121 GT 108 (GT only scored 38) Duke 119
Mike Scott leads UVA at 17 ppg while Joe Harris is at 12.5. Zeglinski will be needed for 3's and he is at 8.5 ppg.
Clemson has young 13.5, Smith 11, Booker at 11 ppg and Jennings at 10 ppg. They have already faced Virginia this year and lost so they should be motivated by that and will be familiar with their style. This should be an ugly game. I won't be shocked by an under with UVA involved but Clemson has shown some offense this year and they will be at home. This looks to be a close game with a chance of overtime which is always helpful in overs. GL!

These two teams are rivals from the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association). Virginia Commonwealth University and Old Dominion are both located in Virginia about 90 miles apart. Both are scrappy defensive teams that have experienced players. They have played overs in 16 of the last 21 meetings. The first meeting at VCU stayed under as ODU struggled to score. Iliadis did not score for ODU and Burgess only had 2 for the Rams.
ODU plays better at home as they have scored 80, 68, 69, 69 and 74 in the last five at home in conference. They are led by senior Kent Bazemore at 13.5 ppg, Cooper at 11 and Iliadis at 9. I expect Trian Iliadis to score 8 or more as he had 0 in the first game.
VCU has played totals of 165, 117, 123, 122 and 143 in its last five on the road. Burgess, Reddic, Daniels and Theus lead the VCU attack. They try to press and it makes the game faster. ODU rebounds well and should get some putbacks from misses.
It does worry me some that ODU plays in a zone and it could slow down the game but we should get some late free throws and 3's from the side that is behind. ODU is -1 so there is a chance for overtime.
I like our chances for both teams to reach the 60 point level and get above 120 points for an over. GL!

ODU at William & Mary 7pm EST (Wednesday) over 118.5
ODU games average 64-60 (124 points) while William and Mary's are 60-70 (130). ODU is off a low scoring loss at George Mason and will look forward to playing at Williamsburg which is only 40 miles from their campus. The Monarchs do have rival VCU on deck and may be looking ahead to that game on Saturday.
In ODU's last game before GMU they played a high scoring game with JMU that ended 81-70 (151 points). ODU made 13 3-pointers in that game. W&M likes to shoot 3's and struggled in a loss at ODU just two weeks ago. Let's look at the W&M home games as all but the Drexel game made it to 129 or above.
VCU 165 Drexel 112 UNCW 134 Dela 139 JMU 129 Iona 148 Rich 153 Liberty 147
ODU does play great defense but last year's game at W&M made it to 122 points. The Tribe likes to shoot 3's and are decent at it at home with McDowell, Britt, Rusthoven, Thornton, Rum and Boatner. The home team does have 7 overs and 14 unders this year. They have underachieved this year.
ODU gets points from Bazemore, Cooper, Wright, Iliadis, Batten and Hill. They rebound well and should get some easy putbacks after missed shots. Hopefully, we can get to 120 points and over the total. GL!

UNC at Wake Forest 9pm eastern (Tuesday, Jan. 31) under 152.5
UNC is one of the highest scoring teams in the country and plays ACC conference weakling Wake Forest on Tuesday night. Wake has played some low scoring conference games at home:
Florida State 127 NC State 116 Va Tech 113
The other ACC games for Wake Forest:
at Clemson 131 at BC 127 at Duke 164 (73-91)
The game at Duke was fast paced as both teams made plenty of 3's and the Blue Devils are a top ten team. WF has played 2 overs, 6 unders and a push at home this year. They have 6 unders in their last 8 overall games and UNC has played unders in 30 of its last 43 conference games.
The Tar Heels just played at home and won 93-81 (174) but the conference games before that reached 129, 150, 147, 129 and 143 points.
Wake does have CJ Harris and Travis McKie to score as both are in the 16 ppg range but next highest is at 10. Both Ty Walker and Carson Desrosiers can block shots and rebound.
UNC is fast paced with Kendall Marshall, Henson, Zeller, Barnes, etc. but I expect the Demon Deacons to struggle to score unless they can make some 3's. I like the under 152.5 for this Tuesday night game. GL!

Tuesday
Eastern Michigan at Buffalo 7pm eastern (Tuesday, Jan. 24) over 114
These two play in Buffalo on Tuesday night. They have each played unders in 7 of the last 8 conference games. Buffalo games average 71-67 (138) while low scoring EMU averages 53-59 (112). The game is at Buffalo and they are favored by 16 so they should be able to score and dictate the pace.
These two played last year at EMU and it was 78-65 (143 points) and the total was 128.5. Many of the players in that game will be involved in Tuesday's game.
EMU recent games have been low scoring as they have reached only 99 points with their opponents while at Ball State and 87 at Northern Illinois. Here are some other road games:
at Santa Clara 55-75 (130) at Va Tech 50-71 (121) only scored 9 at the half at Purdue 30-61 (91) at Drake 53-66 (119) at Colgate 70-74 (144) Lampley scored 37 points! at Syracuse 48-84 (132) at IUPUI 66-64 (130)
Darrell Lampley leads them at 12.6 ppg and Green puts in 7 ppg. There are 4 others in the 5 to 6 points per game range. As you can see by the statistics they are a low scoring team.
Buffalo scoring:
McRae 17 (57% FG) Watt 15 (53% FG) Filzen 11.7 Robinson 7
Buffalo home games have reached 152, 131, 152, 126, 153, 127 and 137 points. Hopefully, Buffalo will dictate the pace and score which will force Eastern Michigan to try to catch up and we can get a game in the 70-50 range. GL!

ODU games average 63-63 (126 points) while Towson's are at 49-74 (123).
Towson should be motivated to play well after the first game and be familiar with the Monarchs defense. Last year, when these two met at Towson they only reached 98 points but in the second game it made it to a total of 137 points. Towson's team has changed since then.
Damas leads the team at 11.7 ppg and he struggled in the first game. Robert Nwankwo averages 11.2 ppg and has struggled this year but has played against ODU in the past.
ODU scoring:
Bazemore 14.5 Cooper 10.5 Iliadis 8 Batten 8 Wright 8 Hill 7 Ross 6
The over has won 7 of the last 8 meetings. I am hoping that Towson will score some at home vs. a team they have already played. They only made two 3-pointers in the first game. Hopefully, Towson plays more like Tigers than kittens!

Mo. games average 147 ppg while A&M is at 120 so the oddsmakers split the difference. Missouri gets 18 ppg from Denmon and 15 ppg from English while Ratcliffe is at 13.7.
A&M has Middleton 13 ppg, Turner 13 ppg and Loubeau 10 ppg. A&M did play an 84-64 (148) game with Florida on a neutral court.
This game does start at 5:30pm and the odd time does concern me for a slow start but the Tigers are the home team and should control the pace.
