We like the Carolina Hurricanes to defeat the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday at 7:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Carolina is one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference again this season.

The Canes may have lost back-to-back games. But, they are 15-5 over their L20 games played at home.

They are also 5-1 over their L6 games coming off a road loss in their previous game.

Vegas is at the top of the standings in the West, but is 1-3 their L4 games.

The Golden Knights are significantly worse on the road, with a 3-4 road record against the Eastern Conference this year.

We think that Vegas will have trouble against a Carolina team that's great defensively.

Play on the home team.

We like the Florida Panthers to defeat the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday at 7:37pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Florida is just a few points back of Toronto for the top spot in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

The Panthers aren't playing their best hockey right now, which is most likely part of the reason why they are decent sized underdogs today.

They are still 12-6 over their L18 games played against teams from the Metro Division.

New Jersey is in the same boat as Florida. Sitting in second in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference.

The Devils too are not playing too well right now, losing five of their L7 games overall.

The road team has won five straight meetings between these two teams.

Florida has also beaten NJ in four straight games played in New Jersey.

We're big on FLA as the underdog tonight.

We like the Vancouver Canucks to defeat the Seattle Kraken on Thursday at 10:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Vancouver hasn't been playing up to its standards this season so far but still are in striking distance of a playoff spot. One big run of winning and Vancouver would be right back in it.

The Canucks are 10-4-2 on the road this season. That's significantly better than their home record.

Seattle is six points behind Vancouver with two more games played.

The Kraken are not playing well either right now having lost two of their L7.

They are also just 1-4 over their L5 versus opponents in their own division (pacific.)

We will go with the underdog road side tonight.

We like the Edmonton Oilers @ Los Angeles Kings game to finish OVER the total on Saturday at 4:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Both of these two teams have been playing lower scoring games. But, Edmonton are always a threat to score lots of goals.

The Oilers are getting hot and have won three games in a row. It's just a matter of time before they score lots of goals.

They've seen the total go OVER in four of their L5 games played against the Kings.

Los Angeles is on a two game losing streak right now. But, LA has scored an average of more than three goals a game this season and so has Edmonton.

The Kings are going to need to score if they want to stay with Edmonton this game.

We think this one sees at least six goals. Play on the OVER.

We like the Minnesota Wild to defeat the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday at 9:37pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Minnesota have been terrific this season posting an 18-5-4 overall record -- 11-2-3 on the road.

The Wild have been the best defensive team in the NHL this season in terms of goals allowed per game. They allow just 2.33 a game.

A big part of their winning is because Minnesota stays out of the penalty box. They average nearly five less minutes in the box per game than Utah does.

The Wild are also 13-4 over their L17 games played against "Utah" (who were named Arizona during all of those games.)

Utah have been very average with a 12-11-4 record -- 4-5-2 at home.

The Hockey Club are also just 1-4 over their L5 games played against teams from the West (Central or Pacific.)

Like we talked about, Utah average a lot of PIM. They average the most penalty minutes out of any team in hockey.

We think that the Minnesota will be too much to handle tonight even with Utah on a two-game winning streak. We aren't opposed to taking the -1.5 at big plus money, but are very confident in them on the moneyline.

We like the New York Rangers to defeat the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday at 10:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

The Oilers lost their last game by a score of 5-3 against the Minnesota Wild. They are 4-6-1 at home now on the season.

The Rangers are playing better on the road themselves. They have a 7-2-0 record away from home.

Edmonton have not done so well against the teams with winning records this season. It's not as bad as last year, but the Oilers haven't been on their game.

NYR are 11-4 over their L15 games played against teams from the Western Conference.

In their L16 games overall, they are 11-5.

This is a good bounce back spot for the Rangers. They will prevail on Saturday.

We like the Boston Bruins to defeat the St Louis Blues on Tuesday at 8:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

The Bruins haven't been as good as they were expecting so far this year. But, they are still a very good hockey team.

The L5 times these teams have played one another, the Bruins won four of them.

St Louis haven't been playing well in recent games. They are only 2-5 over their L7 games overall.

The Blues are also just 2-4 in their L6 games against Eastern Conference opponents.

On Saturday, St Louis lost 8-1. We don't see them responding on Tuesday with a win.

Boston will start to go on a winning streak very soon. We think it'll start today.

As of right now, the Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division with an 8-3-1 record on the season. Edmonton is down in 5th at 6-6-1.

With no Connor McDavid for a couple of weeks, Edmonton doesn't have the same attacking options. They need to reshuffle and rethink some things.

The Oilers got shut out last game. They couldn't figure out the Devils at all. They've now lost two of their last three at home.

Vegas has been known to be more of a team that wins at home. But, they still are a top team in the NHL that should be able to win anywhere.

The Golden Knights have won seven of their L8 against Western Conference opponents.

Edmonton are just 2-3 in their last five meetings with the VGK as well.

With Vegas having two extra days of rest compared to the Oilers to prepare, they're our Pacific Division NHL Game Of The Year on Wednesday.

We like the Ottawa Senators to defeat the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday at 7:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Ottawa seeks consistency after alternating wins and losses recently. Off a win, they'll go for a second straight winner today.

The Sens are 5-1 in their L6 divisional matchup with opponents within the Atlantic Division.

Bufallo are just 3-7 over their L10 games played against Atlantic Division oppoinents.

The Sabres are winning at just a 33.3% clip this season through 12 games. They've been bad on the power-play as well. ]

Both Ottawa's goals are great, no matter who gets the start today.

We're backing the Sens on Tuesday to pick up the win.

We like the Toronto Maple Leafs to defeat the Winnipeg Jets on Monday at 7:37pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

We won with Boston on Saturday against Toronto. We can't see the Leafs losing four in a row and they will be the ones to give Winnipeg their first loss of the season.

Winnipeg is 8-0-0. That makes it hard to play against. Honestly though, it's been a pretty easy schedule for the Jets to open the season up. Their hardest games were against Edmonton (opening night,) Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

This will be a big step up in levels for the Jets. Toronto has won nine of the past eleven road games against Winnipeg including back-to-back.

The Leafs have also won three of their last four games played as a road underdog.

Winnipeg are just 1-4 in their last 5 games against Eastern Conference opponents (all at the end of last year.)

Toronto are 13-2 in their L15 against Western Conference opponents.

We've got the Leafs on Monday. Expect them to hand Winnipeg their first L.

Boston have lost three straight, but showed signs of waking up against Dallas in their last game.

Even though the Leafs won three games in their playoff series vs Boston, they are just 3-11 in their last 14 games against the B's.

Toronto are also just 4-8 in their last 12 games vs division opponents (Atlantic.)

We're backing the home side in this playoff rematch.

I think Florida messed up in not earning the sweep. The Oilers exposed some glaring weaknesses finally in this Panthers' team and I believe this game will be dragged back to Edmonton. And when it does, the Panthers really will be in trouble with the momentum having fully swung the other way. This line feels like a trap for sure in our opinion, and with nearly 80% of the early public money on the home side, this one definitely also appeals to our contrarian nature. Overall great value here, as we expect Edmonton to build off its latest victory with another one here on the road; the play is indeed on the Oilers!

With their backs agains the wall, we like the Oilers to push this series to AT LEAST a Game 5 back in Florida. Note that Edmonton is 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. Florida is clearly in the driver's seat, but we're expecting a classic mental letdown here, similar to what we saw the Celtics have last night in Dallas. Florida will have a chance to earn the cup in front of their fans in Game 5, because here in Game 4 the value for sure lies in the desperate Oilers, who will be risking life and limb to avoid the sweep; lay the short price, the play is Edmonton!

The Oilers have looked good after a loss so far in this year's playoffs, and we're expecting that pattern to continue here. So far there's only been one time in the playoffs that the Oilers have suffered back-to-back defeats (vs. the Stars), otherwise every loss was then followed by a convincing victory. Also ntoe that the Oilers are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a shutout road loss as an underdog vs. an opponent as well. And the only other time that Florida posted a shutout, it then went on to lose the next two playoff games vs. the Rangers. Look for Edmonton to rally here and to find a way to deliver in this crucial spot; the play is indeed on the Oilers!

If you're betting on this game, likely you already know the storylines of each of these team's and how they each arrived at this point. You know the cast of characters and the strengths and the weaknesses of each side, so we're not going to break down the history of how we've gotten here, but instead just give you the solid reasons why we feel the Oilers are the correct call here in Game 1. First, Edmonton does happen to be 4-1 in its last five when playing with three or more days rest. But also the majority of the early public money (70%) has been quick to back the American home side. What Edmonton did to Dallas was impressive and we think the Oilers are going to come out here and steal the Panthers' thunder in Game 1 and get out to a quick start; the play is indeed on Edmonton!

The Oilers have problems in net, and they allow a lot of shots. Dallas ranks among the best in the league in almost every statistical category. It's a complete clash of styles in this series, but we honestly feel that it's the Oilers that are getting way too much respect on the road here. We feel that this line could/should in fact be a lot larger. Edmonton No. 1 Stuart Skinner is down to a .887 save percentage at 5-on-5 and .881 overall in the playoffs. Jake Oettinger has a .941 save percentage at 5-on-5. Edmonton barely got past a severely depleted Vancouver team, and we feel that it'll be completely overmatched here in Game 1; lay the price, the play is Dallas!

Home ice hasn't necessarily been an advantage for either team in this series, but we feel that in Game 7, that will change here for Vancouver, who we suspect will ride the wave of emotion to a solid victory. The Canucks are in fact 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a road loss as an underdog vs. an opponent as well. The Canucks went 4-0 against the Oilers in the regular season and that success now carries over here on home ice. The oddsmakers are trying to bait general betting public in our opinion, and we aren't biting! Grab the plus-money value, the play here is indeed on Vancouver!

New York is up 3-1 in this series after Carolina dug deep and avoided the sweep in Game 4. Now back at home and once again the underdog, we feel that the oddsmakers are completely "off" on this one. New York still has all the momentum, and now back here at home, where it's perfect so far in the playoffs, the unquestioned value in this one absolutely falls on the home side; the play is New York!

Boston won Game 1, but Florida bounced back with a convincing 6-1 victory in Game 2. The Bruins won all four regular season games vs. the Panthers, but Florida finally got the monkey of its back in Game 2 and we're expecting the visitors to now build off that win with another one here. Florida is healthy and its offense is now firing on all cylinders and with nearly 80% of the early public money on the home side, this one all greatly appeals to our naturally contrarian nature; great value here on Florida!

The Boston Bruins went seven games with Toronto, and then came out and beat the Panthers 5-1 in their first game. Florida then responded by calmly crushing the Bruins 6-1 in the second game. Colorado was a slight dog in the first game, but managed to pull out the 4-3 OT victory. Look for Dallas to respond here in Game 2 though, much like Florida did last night. Note as well that the Stars are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a fav vs. an opponent; all things considered, we feel really great value for Dallas to bounce back here at home in Game 2, so lay the price with confidence!

We're primarily "situational" handicappers when you get right down to it. We look at every stat imaginable, but some times we like to keep it simple. And that's the case for this selection. Boston is coming off a grueling seven game series with the Leafs and we're expecting the visiting side to come out fatigued. To say the least! And to say this is a "revenge" game would be an understatement, as the Bruins took all four regular season matchups. This is a rematch of last year's first round, which Florida took 4-3. Florida has had a couple extra days off after winning in five of Tampa, and we say that'll be the difference-maker here between these teams in Game 1 of this series; lay the price with confidence, the play is Florida!

These teams are really evenly matched, but Dallas now has a major advantage playing on home ice here for Game 7 in our opinion. This line could/should in fact be a lot larger in our opinion, so that does in fact swing the value in favor of the home side here. Dallas won 26 of 41 home games during the regular season, while Vegas won just 18 of 41 away contests. Look for the "hungrier" home side to find a way to deliver the goods once it's all said and done; lay the price, the play is Dallas!

Both teams have a lot of playoff failures on their shoulders here going in to Game 7, but we can't state how important we feel that the home ice advantage will prove to be for the Bruins in the end. Toronto has won back-to-back tight 2-1 contests, but it's difficult to see Boston losing three straight. Also note that the Bruins are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a road loss as fav vs. an opponent. I really respect Toronto and think it has made this an exciting series, but look for Boston to finally bounce back and deliver the goods here at home in Game 7; great price play is indeed on the Bruins!

10* Lightning (PLAYOFF PAY-OFF)

Florida is no longer the red-headed step-child in this in-state rivarly, as the Lightning are now on the ropes down 0-3. The hardest game to in a seven games series is the fourth one though, and in our opinion, the Panthers are finally poised for a letdown here. Note that Tampa is 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. Tampa is still 25-12-4-1 at home this year. We say there's no way the Bolts get swept in this series. Florida packs up the tents early we're expecting, and then wraps this one up at home in Game 5; the play is Tampa!

10* Leafs (EAST-CONF RND. 1 GOY)

As primarily situational cappers, nothing changes in our approach for the most part once the playoffs get going. We're looking for great situations and we're looking for what we feel are good or suspect lines that we can take advantage of. And that's the case here: Boston blew out Toronto 5-1 in the opening game of this series, but the Leafs battled tough and got the home ice advantage now after holding on for the 3-2 win in Game 2. The Bruins were great on the road this year finishing 23-9-7-2, but the Leafs were great at home as well with a 22-15-3-1 record North of the border. Auston Matthews is coming off a huge regular season for the Leafs and he had the go-ahead goal in the their Game 2 victory, and now back at home we think Matthews and company will carry that momentum over. We think Boston is fantastic obviously and on any given Sunday it can beat any team on any night. But getting the Leafs at home at this price in the playoffs no matter who their opponent or the situation has to be considered a legitimate investment option every time in our opinion. That victory snapped an eight game losing streak in the series between the clubs Lenny...so great to get the monkey off their backs, but now back at home I think Toronto will take advantage. Ilya Samsonov is great at home as well and has the upper-hand in net; all this considered, a really great price on the hungry Leafs in Game 3!

10* Predators (BLOOD-BATH)

With nearly 70% of the early public money on the home side, we're definitely "going the other way" with this one and fully embracing our contrarian nature. Just a great spot for this undervalued underdog to pull off an upset here in the opener in our opinion of all of these opening round games. To say this is a "revenge" game would be an understatement, as Vancouver took all three games in the regular season. Note though that the teams haven't played since mid-December. These teams though are more evenly matched now and we're expecting the Canucks to fold now that the Playoffs are here. At least in Game 1 anyways! The play is indeed on Nashville!

No need to overthink this one. The Predators are locked into the first Wildcard and just need to end the season without any significant injuries. The Penguins have to win their final two games (and get outside help), to make a Wildcard. With the home side risking life and limb to secure a victory, and with the visitors just going through the motions here, we feel this to be the very defintion of "great line value." The play is Pittsburgh!

This one is for all intents and purposes for the Pacific Division title, and because of that, we can't stress how important we feel that the home ice advantage will prove to be for the Oilers tonight. With everything on the line, look for EDMONTON to dig deep and find a way to deliver the goods!

We like Colorado to defend home ice here and to deliver the goods. A great price overall. Dallas JUST had its eight game win streak snapped last night in a 3-2 loss at Chicago as a -330 favorite and we feel this game here in Colorado the following night sets up as a classic "letdown" spot now for the Stars. Woudl anyone blame Dallas for taking a mental night off here and then preparing for its final four games, all at home and all favorable matchups (Buffalo, Winnipeg, Seattle and St. Louis?!) The Avs have been trading wins/losses over theri last five games, and off a 6-2 loss at Edmonton last time out, all signs point to this strong pattern continuing here; lay the short price, the play is indeed on Colorado!

The Isles have won three straight and they're in a dog fight with several teams for the seventh and eighth spot. They play with revenge after a 3-1 loss at Nashville in January. The Predators just snapped a three-game slide with a 6-3 home win over the Blues, but with another tough game at New Jersey tomorrow night, we feel the visitors get caught looking ahead here. The value swings to the revenge-minded and hungry home side that's in a fight for its playoff life; the play is indeed on New York!

The Rangers can't afford to take the foot off the gas if they hope to hold onto the No. 1 spot in the East, because the Bruins are only one point behind them. There's only two weeks left in the regular season, and after three straight losses, the Wings bounced back with a 4-2 win at Tampa three nights ago. Now rested, they sit in ninth spot right now, just one game behind the Islanders and Philly for 7th and 8th spot. Detroit is also tied with Washington for that 9th spot. The Wings play with the added incentive of revenge here after falling 3-2 at New York at the start of the season. The Rangers just beat the Devils in their latest game, but with a home date vs. lowly Montreal up next, could the visitors also get caught "looking ahead" here?! Look for the hungry and now desperate home side to risk life and limb to build off its most recent win over the Lightning and to avenge the earlier loss at the same time; the play is indeed on Detroit!

The overwhelming situational factors working in favor of a really desperate and hungry Detroit side makes this a price in which we have no issues at all in laying. Columbus is off a 6-1 home loss to Winnipeg and has a tough continuing road trip after this at Colorado, Vegas, Arizona and Pittsburgh. The Wings have lost eight of their last nine. One night after snapping their seven game skid with a 4-1 victory over Buffalo, they then lost 6-3 at Pittsburgh. Here's the perfect opponent to get untracked against, as the Jackets are just 10-16-5-1 away from home. Lay the price with confidence, the play is indeed on Detroit!

Just a great situational play. Nashville has been hot, but it's off a tight 2-1 win at Columbus just last night, and fatigue will clearly now be a factor in the second game of the B2B scenario. The Wild have had a night off to absorb a tight 2-1 OT loss at Colorado, but all signs point to an immediate bounce-back here at home, where they're still 15-12-4-0 this season; lay the price, the play is Minnesota!

No need to overthink this one, as this one sets up well for the revenge-minded home side. The Stars are off the 6-2 win at the Ducks just last night, but with three whole nights off after this followed by a home game vs. Floriday, not only does this set up as a letdown spot, but also a look-ahead (and when you add those two factors together you get "trap game.") LA does play with revenge here as well after the 5-1 loss at Dallas back in January, and after winning three of its last four, all signs point to LA taking advantage of this situation here at home. All things considered, we feel this to be the very definition of "great line value;" the play is LA!

Calgary has won five straight and we're expecting that winning run to continue for at least one more game here in this favorable revenge spot. Seattle is off a 2-1 loss at Edmonton. It beat Calgary 2-1 on the road back in late December, but note that the Flames are 4-1 in their last five in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. With a game at Winnipeg tomorrow, we're expecting the visitors to get caught "looking ahead" as well. Lay the price with confidence, the play is indeed on Calgary!

Seattle has been trading wins/losses over its last five games. It's off a 4-3 shootout win over Boston here last time out, but has had two whole days off to prepare for this one. With the "Alberta Swing" still to go (Calgary/Edmonton B2B,) aftrer this though, not only do we feel that this is a natural "letdown" spot for the visitors after the extended winning run and road victory as a dog, but also a "look ahead" to that tough two-game swing. Colorado hasn't been great on the road this year, it fell 2-1 in OT at New York, before then falling 5-3 at New Jersey the following night. With games at Florida and Washington on the horizon, the visitors get caught looking ahead as well. Carolina lost 3-2 at home to a red hot Vancouver team. It plays with revenge here though after a 6-4 loss at Colorado at the start of the season. Look for home ice advantage to prove to be the difference-maker in this one and lay the reasonable price with confidence on the revenge-minded Hurricanes!

Yes, the Oilers went into the break as the hottest team in the NHL, and yes, Edmonton has enjoyed plenty of success here against the Knights in the past, but we still feel we're getting great value on Las Vegas in this matchup, which clearly won't be just "rolling over" here. Rest has a way of leading to rust. We say that the break will for sure break the momentum that Edmonton has before the All Star game. That's not to say that we think the Oilers are going to completely fall off the map and go on an epic losing streak now or anything, but for sure they have a target on their back to open the second half and we think the Knights are the correct call getting "plus money" at home here. All in all, fantastic line value on Las Vegas!

The final day of the first half of the 2023/24 NHL regular season with the All Star break after this and games not resuming until February 10th. Either way, we think that it's the Ottawa Senators who are in fact getting WAY too much respect from the oddsmakers in this one. Ottawa is 19-25-2-0 overall, including a terrible 6-13 on the road. It's just 9-10 on the puckline on the road, which means that most times it's not only losing when its away from friendly confines, it's losing in BLOWOUT fashion. Detroit on the other hand is 26-18-5-0 overall, including 14-8-4-0 at home. It's also 15-11 on the puckline at home, which again just shows that Detroit normally wins by a sizeable margin in front of the home town crowd. The Wings are off back-to-back quality wins, taking down Philadelphia here 3-0 before then smashing the Golden Knights 5-2. And finally, Detroit plays with the added incentive of REVENGE as it lost 5-1 here at home to Ottawa back in early December (and note that the Wings are in fact 3-1 in their last four in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. Overall this is just a great situational play. The Knights won 5-2 at the Rangers just last night and we're now predicting a predictable letdown here in the second game of the back-to-back scenario. That's two straight wins as an underdog on the road for the Kinghts, and with the all-star game on the horizon and their next home contest not till February 6th after this, not only does this set up as "letdown" spot, but but also a "look-ahead." The Red Wings are off the 3-0 win over Philadelphia and everything points to the Wings taking full advantage of this situation in our opinion. Any time that you can get Boston at home at this price, despite the situation and despite the opponent etc, you definitely have to give it a serious second look. And that's the case for us here on Wednesday with Carolina coming to Boston on Wednesday. The Hurricanes are 25-15-2-3 overall, but just 12-10-0-1 on the road, while the Bruins are 29-8-8-1 overall, including 16-3-3-0 at home. Boston is 13-9 on the puckline at home as well, which means that Boston has not only won at home, but also it does so in blowout fashion most of the time (and then also compare that to Carolina being just 9-14 on the puckline away from friendly confines. Boston's red hot and it's won five in a row (over some really good teams: they won 4-3 in overtime at St. Louis, then they beat the Devils here 3-0, then hammered Colorado 5-2, then they destroyed Montreal 9-4, and then most recently they dominated the Jets by a score of 4-1.) With a two-game road trip starting in Ottawa tomorrow night, tonight's contest takes on added importance for Boston as well. Carolina has lost two of its last three, most recently falling 5-2 at home to Minnesota. With a home game vs. the Devils tomorrow night we think the visitors will also get caught looking ahead as well. Great value here on Detroit as a slight home dog. Both teams are 2-1, but we can't understate how important we feel that the home ice advantage will be in this one. These teams went 1-1-1 last year in the regular season. They played twice in the preseason and the Wings won both games. Pittsburgh is off a 5-2 win over Calgary at home despite getting outshot 36-29. That type of performance won't get the job done on the road here. Detroit comes in off a convincing 4-0 win over Columbus. The Wings are built to beat teams like this and the oddsmakers are slow in recognizing how far that Detroit has come already this season. We say that home ice is a big factor in the final outcome of this one; the play is indeed on Detroit!

Florida struggled down the stretch last year and finished 42-32-8, but the Panthers managed to "right the ship" and make the Stanley Cup Final, only to lost to Vegas. Minnesota finished 46-25-11 and third in the Central with 103 points, getting eliminated by Dallas eventually in the first round of the playoffs. The Panthers have many concerns coming into the season, including key injuries to several players, including Matthew Tkachuk. Florida had major issues on the defensive end last year, allowing 3.32 GPG. Minnesota lacked depth offensively last year, but it added a few players like Pat Maroon in the offseason to address that. Defensively though the Wild are once again expected to be elite with Filip Gustavsson between the pipes. All in all, we feel this to be the very definition of "great line value;" lay the short price, thep lay is Minnesota!

We'd say this is a "public" play, but for the most part the "public" doesn't even play the NHL. The NHL is one sport that we don't take the "splits" into consideration. These two teams are familiar with each other and we just can't understate how important we feel that the home ice advantage will prove to be in this one. The Jets made the playoffs but lost to Vegas in the first round. Both teams are at "crossroads" this season, for different reasons. Note that Calgary led the league in 30 one-goal losses last year and missed the playoffs by just two points. Calgary enters this season with a young cast of new players, but also with a chip on its collective shoulder after missing the playoffs last year. Winnipeg has plenty of contract issues and other off ice things to deal with this year, and after the first round exit, we're expecting hangover here to open the season; lay the price, the play is indeed on Calgary!

Florida has responded well in this spot for bettors, but at this price, and despite most of the public money on them, we still think that the Knights offer really great value to secure its first ever Stanley Cup. Las Vegas has been great on both ends of the ice in this series, but especially on the defensive end. Now on the road, we expect the Panthers to falter as the game wares on. Lay the price, the play is Las Vegas!

We've played on Vegas in every game so far, and we'll ride the Knights again here. Strengths and weaknesses are well known for each side. There are literally millions of reveiew articles out there if you want to get up to speed on how each reached this point. The bottom line here though is that Vegas has responded well in this spot for bettors, going 4-1 in its last five in trying to avenge a road loss as an underdog vs. an opponent; great value here on the Knights!

With a line like this, clearly the oddsmakers believe these teams are very evenly matched. And for the most part they are, but the Playoffs, and the Finals are all about "momentum" and timing and Las Vegas comes to the East Coast with a ton of each working in their favor. With the majority of the public wagers on the Panthers here in Game 3, we're staying true to our contrarian ways and "going the other way." In many such instances in the past, we'd be quick to back the 0-2 team in this situation, but that doesn't always work out. And in our opinion, this will be one of those instances. Overall the VALUE here in our opinion is on Las Vegas at this price; and that's the call, the play is the Golden Knights!

"Momentum" is a very real, tangible factor in sports (at times,) and that's especially true in the Playoffs. Dallas has battled back to force a Game 6 and now the Stars will have captain Jamie Benn back in the line-up after a two-game suspension for cross-checking Matt Stone in Game 3. So, the momentum has for sure now swung in favor of the Stars, and an epic Game 7 showdown in the desert is just what the NHL wants. The bottom line for this one is that these teams are indeed evenly matched, but at this price, the home side is the best value play; lay the short-price, the play is Dallas!

We had a play on Dallas in Game 4, and honestly we feel a bit "lucky" after that OT victory. Regardless, with a chance to now punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final, we absolutely believe that the "home ice" advantage can not be overlooked in this case. Note that Las Vegas is 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge a road loss vs. an opponent as well. In our professional opinion, this is the very definition of "great line value;" lay the short price, the play is Las Vegas!

We were on Las Vegas in Game's 1 and 2, but now that this series has shifted to Dallas, we're expecting Dallas to risk life and limb here to secure the victory. The first two games both went to OT, so in reality, this series could easily be 2-0 in favor of the Stars. These teams are very evenly matched, but we absolutely believe that "home ice" will prove to be crucial in this series. Finally, note that the Stars are still 6-2 in their last eight in trying to avegnge two or more straight losses against an opponent; lay the price, the play is DALLAS!

Florida has the Hurricanes number in this series. The Panthers have been unbelievable in the Playoffs and now back at home, we think they're going to win Game 3 as well here. Carolina had its chance at home in Game 2 and came up short, and everything points to it running out of steam here on the road. Note as well that Florida is 7-2 in its last nine as a home favorite in the -105 to -120 range. Great value on a great team; the play is Florida!

We think that home ice advantage will prove to be crucial in this series. Dallas jumped out to an early lead in Game 1, but Las Vegas eventually wore down the Stars and then pulled away for the comfortable 4-2 victory. Las Vegas was 30-17 at home this year. The Knights enjoy one of the best "home ice advantages" in the  entire league, and at this price, we feel the best VALUE play for sure in Game 2 is on the Knights to take a commanding lead in this series; lay the price, the play is Las Vegas!

We've pretty much been on the Leafs throughout this series, and we obviously haven't done very well. But, with their backs against the wall, we expect them to find a way to extend this second round series at least one more game. Toronto is still 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge two or more straight losses against an opponent. The Panthers have overachieved and primed for the letdown here. Hey Florida, no sweep for you! Lay the price, the play is Toronto!

10* Hurricanes (BLOWOUT)

We based our picks on many different things. We've always felt that being flexible with our approach is the best way to secure profits over the short, mid and long-term. This particular play comes down to "common sense." Carolina has the upper hand here because the Hurricanes finished off the Islanders in six games and have had a couple extra days off. The Devils had to come from behind and hang on for dear life to move past the Rangers in an exhausting seven-game opening series. Can anyone say "letdown" spot for the Devils here?! All things considered, a really good price here on Carolina in Game 1!

10* Leafs (BLOCKBUSTER)

We've been enjoying the NHL Playoffs and we're ready to sink our teeth into the second round and really get a huge run going on the ice. In fact, so far we've played every single NHL and NBA Playoff game. This is a common sense play for us. There's plenty of talent on both sides. We could easily write a convincing argument for either team to come out on top here in Game 1. But situationally we feel it sets up great for the Leafs, who eliminated the Lightning in six games. The Panthers however had to go to OT in Game 7 to earn their unlikely series victory over the mighty Bruins. The Leafs got a monkey off their backs, winning their first playoff series since 2004. But now they have a clear advantage, and one which we feel should/could be a lot larger than what this line is suggesting; great value here on Toronto in Game 1!

10* Devils (ASSASSIN)

It's all come down to this. So far, home ice advantage hasn't really mattered in this series between these two evenly matched sides, but I expect that to indeed be the differnece-maker here in Game 7. It's been a magical season for New Jersey, with the biggest turnaround in terms of wins from one season to the next. The Rangers expended a ton of energy to stay in this series last time out, and we're expecting a letdown here finally on the road; look for the Devils to find a way to deliver (and note, a great price on the home side here in Game 71!)

The Rangers won the first two games of this series by identical 5-1 scores, but the Devils have battled back to win three straight. Now facing elimination, we're expecting the Rangers to risk life and limb here to push it to a Game 7. Note that the Rangers are 7-2 in their last nine in trying to avenge a shutout loss to an opponent. New York is also 8-4 in its last 12 after three or more straight losses in a row. Great value here on the desperate home side; the play is New York!

I'm expecting Toronto to end this series here and now. The Lightning have had zero "home ice advantage" in this series, losing both games 3 and 4 here in Tampa. The Leafs answered the Game 1 7-3 loss, with a 7-2 win in Game 2. Toronto is also 7-2 in its last nine in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. With the majority of the public money going one way, we're going to go the other; play on Toronto!

After back-to-back losses to Seattle, and now facing elimination, we're expecting the defending champs to dig deep here and deliver with a victory on the road. Note that Colorado is 7-2 in its last nine in tring to avenge a home loss vs. an opponent. The NHL is going to love this series going to Game 7 back in Colorado; lay the price, the play is Colorado!

The Wild finished 26-13-0-4 at home this year, and now facing elimination, we're expecting Minnesota to dig deep here and find a way to deliver in Game 6. Note that Minnesota is 7-3 in its last ten as a home favorite in the -110 to -130 range. The Wild play with revenge, and for the Playoff lives here; all things considered, a great price on desperate Minnesota!
