Bowling Green Falcons vs Tennessee Volunteers Line – September 5, 2015

The Bowling Green Falcons (0-0) will visit the #25 Tennessee Volunteers (0-0) on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will televise at 4 pm ET on SECN. The current odds list Tennessee as a 20.5-point favorite with the over/under set at 69.

Bowling Green will have Matt Johnson returning to the team this year after suffering a season ending surgery in the opener in 2014. He will look to start where he left off in 2013. Travis Greene will remain in the backfield where he rushed for 949 yards and added 12 touchdowns on the ground. Roger Lewis will return for his sophomore year after setting a freshman school record with 73 receptions and 1,093 yards. Bowling Green lost most of their defensive players but that has always been there weakness. The Falcons are 7-3 ATS in their last ten games on grass.

Joshua Dobbs is returning to the quarterback position who proved to be a versatile quarterback last season. Jalen Hurd will be the running back but Alvin Kamara transferred from Alabama and will most likely see a good amount of carries. Tennessee is coming in with a strong defense where Barnett and Maggitt combined for 21 sacks and 35 tackles last season. They have a solid secondary which should give quarterbacks a hard time. The Volunteers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games on grass.

My Pick: Bowling Green +20.5

Bowling Green is getting no respect in this game. Tennessee has a solid defense but Bowling Green has a solid offense. I think this will be a fairly high scoring game and starting off with three touchdowns is hard to pass up. I think Matt Johnson will come out eager and ready to put some points on the board. Give me the Falcons in this one.
