04-04-21 | Capitals -162 v. Devils | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Washington Capitals returned to form Friday night against an opponent with whom they are well acquainted. The result was far too familiar for the New Jersey Devils, who are down to their last chance this season to earn a win over the Capitals. The visiting Capitals will look to complete a sweep of the Devils this afternoon, when the East Division rivals are scheduled to finish a two-game series in Newark, N.J. Some late dramatics helped the Capitals remain perfect against the Devils on Friday night, when Dmitry Orlov capped a chaotic overtime by scoring with 21 seconds left to lift Washington to a 2-1 win. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Capitals, who allowed their most goals in more than two years in an 8-4 loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday night. It was the first time Washington surrendered eight goals since an 8-5 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 20, 2019. Consider that Washington is 36-16 in their last 52 games as a road favorite. |

04-03-21 | Flyers v. Islanders -173 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The eight goals by the Islanders were tied for the most they've scored since coach Barry Trotz arrived prior to the 2018-19 season. New York beat the Detroit Red Wings 8-2 on Jan. 14, 2020. The win, despite a shaky defensive performance, was equally notable for the Islanders, who allowed more than three goals in a win for the first time this season Thursday. The Flyers were not in nearly as jovial a mood following the lopsided defeat to the Sabres, who'd lost their previous 18 games (0-15-3) dating back to Feb. 25 -- the 14th-longest losing streak in NHL history and the longest skid since the Pittsburgh Penguins lost 18 straight games in 2003-04, the season before the NHL instituted the shootout. The defeat Wednesday capped a tumultuous month for the Flyers, who went 6-10-1 in March and gave up 75 goals, the most surrendered in a single month in franchise history. Philadelphia lost four games by at least five goals and gave up at least four goals 11 times. Consider that New York is 20-7 in their last 27 home games. |
04-02-21 | Flames v. Oilers -139 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Oilers have pressed on with the task at hand, preparing to face the Flames for the seventh time this season. Edmonton has won four of the previous six games, the most recent a 7-3 shellacking on St. Patrick's Day. In those six games against Calgary, McDavid has racked up six goals and 14 points, and part of the preparation was to separate him and Leon Draisaitl to provide scoring depth. McDavid on Thursday practiced on a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jesse Puljujarvi. Draisaitl skated with Dominik Kahun and Kailer Yamamoto. As much as the Flames had to adjust their plans on the fly, the more important quest is to cobble together a winning streak. Calgary has lost five of six games and is falling further outside a playoff spot. The Flames -- who are 10 points behind their Alberta rivals -- have been guilty of blowing leads and losing control of close games at the first sign of trouble. Consider that Edmonton is 19-9 in their last 28 vs. North. |
04-01-21 | Capitals v. Islanders -114 | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 5 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Its important to remember that not all "first game back" situations are equal though. Tonight, the Isles are playing their first home game since 3/20. In this case, however, they actually only played four road games (as opposed to seven) and, unlike the Jets, the Isles never had to leave their own time zone. Also, the trip was not entirely successful, as they lost the final two games. What I'm trying to say is that I don't expect them to struggle the way that Winnipeg did. Its worth mentioning that the Isles are a perfect 5-0 their last five home games, following a road trip of seven or more days. More? The Isles are also 9-1 their last 10, after allowing two goals or less, in their previous game. |
03-31-21 | Flyers -191 v. Sabres | 1-6 | Loss | -191 | 2 h 30 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Leading 3-0 after two periods Monday night, Buffalo seemed headed to its first victory since Feb. 23. Instead, Kevin Hayes, captain Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier scored third-period goals, and defenseman Ivan Provorov came through 42 seconds into overtime, as Philadelphia completed a stunning 4-3 comeback victory. While the Flyers have won back-to-back contests for the first time since a three-game run from Feb. 24-28, the Sabres are mired in an 0-15-3 rut. That's NHL's longest such slide during the shootout era. The 1993-94 Winnipeg Jets were the most recent club to go 19 in a row without a win. Consider that Philadelphia is 24-8 in their last 32 games as a road favorite. |
03-30-21 | Blue Jackets v. Lightning -1.5 | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 20 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Columbus enters off a poor 4-1 loss in Detroit on Monday and I have a hard time seeing it keeping up with the defending champs in this difficult road venue. The Jackets have lost four straight, allowing three or more goals over that span. Tampa's defense has been a bit shaky of late, but after two straight losses, clearly the Lightning will come in focused on the task at hand this evening. The Bolts are 7-1 in their last eight at home and I think they can not only win this game, but win by a sizeable margin. |
03-29-21 | Ducks v. Avalanche -1.5 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Off a 3-2 overtime win in St. Louis just last night, we think the Ducks, who have won two in a row now, are going to have a predictable letdown here in this difficult road venue and in the second game of the back-to-back. Despite yesterday's win, note that the Ducks have still scored two goals or less in six of their last nine games. And although Anaheim was decent on the defensive end vs. St. Louis yesterday, it's still allowed four or more goals in six of its last tne games. Off a 3-2 OT loss to the Knights, the Avs will be eager to take advantage of this favorable spot. Despite losing last time out, Colorado has still scored four or more goals in seven of its last eight games. The Avs have also turned things around in net, conceding one goal or less in seven of their last ten outings. Anaheim is only 1-4 in its last five road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of more than .600. Everything is in place for the Avalanche to not only win tonight, but to win big. |
03-28-21 | Blue Jackets -160 v. Red Wings | 1-4 | Loss | -160 | 6 h 31 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Detroit snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory on Saturday. The Red Wings had mustered just one goal during the slide, and that goal came in a 7-1 thrashing by the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Columbus was starting a six-game road trip. With two games apiece against Central Division leader Tampa Bay, followed by a pair against Florida, the game today takes on added importance. "Unacceptable, but what good is it for me to sit here and start saying all these things?" Foligno said. "We just have an opportunity (today) to rectify that and learn from it and know that we gave one away today, which better (upset) some guys off in that room, because we don't have any games to give away. We don't have any cushion right now." Consider that Detroit is 9-22 in their last 31 vs. Central. |
03-27-21 | Golden Knights v. Avalanche -174 | 3-2 | Loss | -174 | 6 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Vegas and Colorado viewed their two-game set in Denver as a prelude to a possible postseason clash later in the spring. After one game, it's the Avalanche who look playoff ready and have the Golden Knights looking for answers. Colorado dominated the first matchup, winning 5-1 Thursday night with a big second period that turned a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 lead. While players talk about moving on after a loss, it won't be so easy for Vegas. The Avalanche have been outclassing their opponents lately, winning eight of their last nine and earning at least a point in all nine of those games. The games with Vegas come a week after another key matchup against Minnesota, and Colorado won both of those games by a combined score of 11-1. Consider that Colorado is 40-15 in their last 55 games playing on 1 days rest while Vegas is 10-25 in their last 35 games as a road underdog. |
03-25-21 | Golden Knights v. Avalanche -172 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 1 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Prior to losing 5-4 in Arizona on Tuesday, the Avalanche had put together arguably the best six-game run we've seen from any team all season. They won all six games by a combined score of 27-7 and did so by completely dominating shots on goal: 42-31, 55-20, 36-22, 41-28, 46-18 and 46-14. They outshot the 'Yotes 39-32 in that loss Tuesday, which went to a shootout after falling down 0-2 in the first period. We look for the Avs to bounce back on home ice this evening. They are playing the first place Golden Knights, not an easy matchup by any means, but Colorado being such a sizable favorite here should tell you what the oddsmakers think of them. A win tonight would pull the Avs even with the Knights and we think they get the two points. |
03-25-21 | Lightning -165 v. Stars | 3-4 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Andrei Vasilevskiy is pretty much unbeatable right now. The Tampa Bay goaltender set a franchise record with his 12th straight win in the Lightning's 2-1 victory Tuesday at Dallas in a rematch of last season's Stanley Cup Final. Vasilevskiy is two shy of the NHL record as the Lightning enter today's rematch against the host Stars. The 26-year-old Russian had to make just 16 saves Tuesday to eclipse Louis Domingue's franchise record of 11 consecutive victories from Nov. 29, 2018, to Feb. 19, 2019. After defeating the Stars in six games in last season's Stanley Cup Final, the Lightning have won each of the first four games against them this season. Tampa Bay is only the fourth defending champion in NHL history to accomplish that feat, joining the Montreal teams of 1944-45, 1957-58 and 1976-77. |
03-24-21 | Jets -140 v. Canucks | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canucks may fight hard in this one. However, they're badly short-handed. The Jets have been dominating them here, making it a home away from home. The teams last met Monday and Winnipeg won 4-0. That loss was costly, as Vancouver lost captain Bo Horvat to injury. They're calling him day-to-day but if you saw the injury, it'd be surprising if he goes tonight. Keep in mind that Sutter didn't play last game either and that the Canucks were already without Pettersson and Beagle. There are other injuries, too. However, I mention those guys as all four are centers. That's going to make things tough. |
03-23-21 | Avalanche -1.5 v. Coyotes | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Avalanche hammered the Coyotes last night and more of the same expected tonight. Arizona has lost 6 of its last 7 games. Also, 6 of the Coyotes last 8 losses have come by a margin of 2 or more goals. In fact, the average margin of defeat in Arizona's last 8 losses is 3 goals! Colorado is a big money line favorite here for a reason but where we get the value is the puck line. By laying the 1.5 goals, the Avalanche are actually available at a plus money return (currently in the +115 range) and that is a great value when you consider the above trending for the Coyotes. Also, the Avalanche have won 7 straight games and each of the last 6 have been decided by a multiple goal margin. Those 6 victories came by an average margin of 3.8 goals per game! |
03-22-21 | Avalanche -229 v. Coyotes | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Arizona Coyotes earned a chance to celebrate a win for the first time in nearly two weeks when they beat Anaheim on Saturday. If they want to keep celebrating, they'll have to figure out how to stop Colorado when they host the Avalanche tonight. It's the first of two games between the teams in Arizona on consecutive nights, and it's a tough task for the Coyotes coming off of a 5-1 road win. The win capped a tough, seven-game trip for Arizona that started with a 3-2 win over Colorado on March 8. The victory was followed by five losses - the first against the Avalanche - with two coming in overtime. Now, they're home for four games after 16 days away from Glendale. The 28 shots Raanta faced Sunday might be a fraction of the total Colorado could throw at him over the next two nights. The Avalanche are averaging 44.3 shots on goal during their current six-game winning streak and completely dominated a Minnesota team that had won five straight before being outscored 11-1 in two losses. Consider that Colorado is 38-15 in their last 53 games playing on 1 days rest. |
03-21-21 | Predators v. Stars -167 | 4-3 | Loss | -167 | 10 h 12 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Nashville Predators began their season-high eight-game road trip with a spirited 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on March 7. The Predators saw that momentum come to an abrupt halt with losses in four of their next six contests (2-3-1). Nashville will look to get back on track in the finale of its lengthy trek against the Stars tonight. The lack of offense has been an all-too-common theme for the Predators, who have been shut out on three occasions this season after being blanked just twice in 2019-20. Saros was gouged for five goals on 20 shots before being lifted in a 7-0 setback to Dallas on Jan. 22. He yielded three goals to the Stars two nights later in a 3-2 setback. Anton Khudobin recorded his third shutout of the season on Saturday, courtesy of a 21-save performance in the Stars' 3-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Khudobin turned aside 49 of 51 shots to win the first two meetings with Nashville this season, improving to 6-4-1 with a 2.18 goals-against average in 13 career appearances versus the Predators. Consider that Nashville is 7-20 in their last 27 games as an underdog. |
03-20-21 | Rangers v. Capitals -136 | 3-1 | Loss | -136 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Capitals have three one-goal wins during their streak, and Ovechkin has tallied seven times in the seven games. Ovechkin also has scored nine times in his past 14 games, a stretch in which Washington is 12-1-1 since a 4-1 home loss to the Rangers on Feb. 20. When Ovechkin takes the ice today and attempts to continue his roll, the Capitals will get winger Tom Wilson back from a seven-game suspension for his hit on Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo on March 5. Wilson totaled seven goals and 10 assists in 21 games before the suspension, and the Capitals are looking forward to his return. "He brings so much to our team -- just his energy, to have him in the room and on the bench with his size and his game and his physicality," Capitals coach Peter Laviolette said. "We're certainly going to be happy to see him back." The Rangers are 2-4-1 in their past seven games since winning three straight March 2-6. After a 9-0 romp over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night, New York was held to one goal or none for the seventh time. Consider that Washington is 14-3 in their last 17 vs. East. |
03-20-21 | Flames v. Maple Leafs -162 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 24 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units For the second time in this month, the Leafs have lost three in a row. They've lost six of seven overall. But it was a 4-3 win against Winnipeg the last time they were off three straight defeats and we don't see them losing four in a row (for the first time all season) here. Toronto is very much still one of the NHL's best teams. They are tied with Edmonton for first place. With the Oilers facing third place Winnipeg elsewhere tonight, a win here would ensure the Leafs don't fall out of first or into a three-way tie. Calgary was fortunate to win here 4-3 last night, but the likelihood of them making it two row seems small. Toronto had four days off prior to that loss to Calgary and came out rusty. They did rally to tie things up after falling behind by two goals. But then they allowed the game-winner on Flames' power play. Don't overthink this one. Just take the better team. The Flames are 1-6 this year after scoring 4 or more goals in their last game. |
03-20-21 | Flyers v. Islanders -127 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 48 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Unit NHL Game of the Week The Islanders had moved into first place in the East Division during a nine-game winning streak and 12-game point streak that was snapped in a 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night. Then they gave up the three goals to the Flyers on Thursday in less than 12 minutes of the second period, when they were outshot 12-5. The Islanders scored their three third-period goals in fewer than seven minutes, but their chances to escape with a point, or the victory, evaporated when the Flyers' Claude Giroux won a faceoff against Mathew Barzal deep in the New York zone. Lindblom, open in the slot, fired a shot past goalie Semyon Varlamov, who was screened by Giroux. Consider that the favorite is 56-22 in the last 78 meetings. |
03-20-21 | Wild v. Avalanche -170 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Colorado swarmed the Wild from the start with 25 shots in the first period Thursday night and 55 for the game. Minnesota couldn't even match the first-period total for the game, putting just 20 shots on Philipp Grubauer in a 5-1 loss. The bigger loss might be the injury to defenseman Matt Dumba. He left in the second period with what looked like a serious right leg injury after sliding skates first into the boards. The Wild didn't have an update after the game, but coach Dean Evason didn't sound optimistic. Colorado got a boost from the return of young defensemen Cale Makar and Bo Byram. Both had missed multiple games with upper-body injuries and their return gave the Avalanche much-needed depth at the blue line. Grubauer will likely be in net again after his 19-save performance, but his backup has changed. Colorado sent Hunter Miska to the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League and recalled Adam Werner. Miska struggled in his last two starts and was pulled in Tuesday's 8-4 win over Anaheim after allowing four goals on seven shots in the first period. Consider that Colorado is 14-5 in their last 19 vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |
03-19-21 | Rangers v. Capitals -132 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After their crazy 9-0 win at home over the Flyers last time out, regression seems imminent for the Rangers on the road in the Nation's Capital Friday night. Washington enters on top form, having won six straight, allowing just one goal over its last two games. The Capitals are also 4-0 in their last four vs. clubs with losing records, while New York is just 2-5 in its last seven vs. teams with winning records. The Rangers are also only 1-5 in their last six after scoring five or more goals in their previous game. Considering all of the above information, Washington seems like a bargain at this price. |
03-18-21 | Penguins -152 v. Devils | 2-3 | Loss | -152 | 3 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The New Jersey Devils found a way to give themselves a little confidence going into today's home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. They won a home game. That might sound like a relatively minor thing. Teams are supposed to dominate on home ice. The Penguins, for example, are 12-3-0 at home. But it has been a struggle for the Devils, both at Prudential Center in Newark and elsewhere. Their 3-2 win Tuesday over Buffalo -- the only team beneath them in the East Division -- snapped an 11-game home losing streak. Consider that Pittsburgh is 14-2 in their last 16 games as a favorite. |
03-16-21 | Lightning -152 v. Stars | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 52 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Lightning will look to keep zeros on the home side of the scoreboard -- something they have done well against the Stars this season. The two Stanley Cup Final participants last season have played twice in 2021 -- once in Tampa, once in Dallas -- with the Lightning posting shutouts in each contest. Tampa Bay goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy started both games and frustrated the Stars throughout. The 2019 Vezina Trophy winner backstopped his club to 5-0 and 2-0 victories -- the only games in which Dallas was blanked this season. Vasilevskiy, who has stopped all 48 shots by the Stars, got the day off Monday in the Lightning's 4-1 matinee loss to the visiting Nashville Predators. He is expected back in the crease today. |
03-15-21 | Capitals -220 v. Sabres | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Washington has totaled 33 non-shootout goals while winning eight of its last nine contests, and recorded five in each of the last three games. Ovechkin scored his 10th of the season and third in four games during the Capitals' 5-4 win at Philadelphia on Saturday. Buffalo 10-game losing streak (0-8-2) is the franchise's longest winless stretch since dropping 14 in a row from Dec. 29, 2014-Jan. 39, 2015. Though the Sabres snapped a string of yielding five goals in five straight games, they were shut out for the fifth time this season following a 3-0 defeat by Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Sabres have also been outscored 29-9 during an 0-7-1 home slide. They haven't dropped nine straight at home since 2013-14. Consider that Washington is 20-7 in their last 27 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. |
03-15-21 | Bruins -111 v. Penguins | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -111 | 2 h 54 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Unit 10* NHL Game of the Month It is likely that Tristan Jarry, who has started 12 of the past 15 games, and DeSmith will split the two games against Boston. For Boston, goaltender Tuukka Rask has been arguably the team's best player. He is 8-4-2 in 14 starts. The Bruins led the East early but are 4-6-2 in their past 12 games. They have not stacked together back-to-back wins since a five-game winning streak over the first two weeks of February. Their 4-0 loss Saturday at home against the New York Rangers emphasized their displeasure with themselves. Consider that Boston is 12-5 in their last 17 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. |
03-14-21 | Hurricanes v. Red Wings +1.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 40 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Wings have lost more than their fair share of games, but they rarely get blown out. They just split a two game home series versus Tampa, with the loss coming by a score of 4-3. They host Carolina on Sunday afternoon, and the Canes have won seven straight. Carolina is 9-5 on the road, but four of their last six road wins have come in games decided by one goal. If Detroit can stay out of the penalty box, they should have a chance to win this game. |
03-13-21 | Oilers -131 v. Canucks | 1-2 | Loss | -131 | 13 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Facing the Edmonton Oilers is hard enough at full strength. Now, the Vancouver Canucks have a litany of injury woes to worry about as they ready to host the high-octane Oilers tonight. With forwards Tyler Motte (high ankle sprain), Justin Bailey (separated shoulder) and Elias Pettersson (upper-body injury) already sidelined, the Canucks have another trio of forwards nursing issues. Brandon Sutter, Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel all missed practice on Friday, and coach Travis Green said only "one or two" were likely to play against the Oilers. Edmonton has won 15 of its past 20 games to move into second place in the North Division. Consider that Edmonton is 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite. |
03-13-21 | Golden Knights v. Blues OVER 5.5 | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 37 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Unit NHL Total of the Month Consider that the over is 23-6 in Blues last 29 Saturday games, 11-5 in Blues last 16 games playing on 0 days rest, and 11-5 in Blues last 16 home games. In addition the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in St. Louis and 6-0 in the last 6 meetings. |
03-12-21 | Coyotes v. Wild -180 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After Cam Talbot had to miss time due to COVID-19 protocols, Kaapo Kahkonen has broken out as the Wild's primary goalie. Kahkonen is 8-0-0 over his last eight starts, the longest winning streak by any goalie in the NHL this season. Overall, Kahkonen has a .922 save percentage and 2.19 goals against average over 15 games. It has been quite the performance for a goalie who entered the season with only five NHL games on his resume. However, Kahkonen's emergence was no surprise to Minnesota defenseman Carson Soucy, who played alongside Kahkonen for the Wild's AHL affiliate in Iowa. Kahkonen's unbeaten run includes a previous victory over the Coyotes, as the goalie stopped 24 of 25 shots in a 5-1 Minnesota win on March 5. Consider that Arizona is 8-20 in their last 28 games as a road underdog. |
03-11-21 | Devils v. Islanders -201 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 52 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders will get their first chance this season to maintain their NHL-best home record in front of fans tonight, when New York is scheduled to host the New Jersey Devils in a battle of longtime division rivals in Uniondale, N.Y. Both teams were off Wednesday after playing Tuesday night, when the Islanders earned their sixth consecutive win with a 2-1 shootout victory over the visiting Boston Bruins and the Devils came back from a three-goal deficit before falling to the host Washington Capitals, 5-4, in overtime. The win was the 11th at home this season for the Islanders, tying them for the most home victories in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins. But at 11-0-2 at the Coliseum, New York is the only team without a regulation loss at home. The Devils have lost nine of 11 (2-8-1) since Feb. 20, a span in which they've suffered five defeats by one goal. Overall this season, New Jersey is 5-4-3 in one-goal games. Consider that New Jersey is 7-20 in the last 27 meetings. |
03-11-21 | Devils v. Islanders OVER 5.5 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 105 | 3 h 16 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Units NHL Total of the Mont The over is 8-2-1 in Islanders last 11 home games, 3-1-1 in Islanders last 5 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game., 5-2 in Islanders last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game, and 5-2 in Islanders last 7 games following a win. In addition, the over is 5-1 in Devils last 6 games playing on 1 days rest. |
03-10-21 | Coyotes v. Avalanche -205 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Arizona won't have its top goaltender for Wednesday, or for the near future, according to coach Rick Tocchet on Tuesday. Darcy Kuemper made 17 saves before leaving early in the third period of the Coyotes' 3-2 win and Tocchet said Kuemper is heading back to Arizona to be evaluated. Kuemper looked sharp in his second game back from a lower-body injury that sidelined him for four games, but he suffered an undisclosed injury against the Avalanche. While Colorado had possession of the puck Kuemper signaled to an official, and when the puck left the zone play was stopped, and Kuemper was replaced by Antti Raanta. Bednar said Tuesday that center Nathan MacKinnon will be back in the lineup after missing three games. Consider that Colorado is 20-9 in their last 29 vs. a team with a losing record. |
03-09-21 | Devils v. Capitals -188 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Washington Capitals are riding high on a sizzling 6-1-1 stretch, with three of those victories coming at the expense of the New Jersey Devils. The Capitals aim to continue their mastery of the Devils today when the teams reconvene in Washington, D.C. Ilya Samsonov made 36 saves Sunday night in the Capitals' 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. The 24-year-old Russian was making his second start since returning from the NHL COVID-19 protocol list, with the first being a 19-save performance in a 3-2 victory over New Jersey on Feb. 28. Samsonov sports a 3-0-1 record with a 2.53 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in four career meetings with the Devils. New Jersey goaltender, Blackwood, who yielded five goals on 27 shots against the Rangers on Saturday, permitted seven tallies on 46 shots in consecutive losses to Washington on Feb. 27-28. The 24-year-old owns a 1-5-0 record with a 3.48 goals-against average and .878 save percentage in six career meetings with the Capitals. Consider that New Jersey is 25-62 in their last 87 vs. a team with a winning record. |

03-09-21 | Bruins -107 v. Islanders | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -107 | 2 h 38 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Unit NHL 10* Game of the Year The Isles have been playing well. However, they're stepping up in class here. I expect a visit from the talented and hungry Bruins to bring them back down to earth. Off an upset loss to the Devils, the Bruins are going to be in an angry mood. The fact that they're 0-3 against the Isles this season adds further motivation. The last of those meetings was a 7-2 beatdown. Obviously, Boston hasn't forgotten. The Bruins haven't fared well here this season but are still 18-6 their last 24 visits here. While they'll be without Rask, Halak is 5-2 with a 2.24 GAA. I expect them to bounce back with a huge effort |
03-08-21 | Blues -150 v. Sharks | 2-3 | Loss | -150 | 7 h 14 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Monday's game marks the first time the Sharks and Blues have seen each other since a wild contest on Feb 27 that featured an NHL-record-tying six game-tying goals in a regular-season game and ended in a 7-6 victory for St. Louis. The Blues have since gone 3-0-1, stringing together three straight victories before losing 4-3 in overtime to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night. St. Louis had a 3-1 lead after the first 20 minutes of Saturday's game, but Anze Kopitar and the Kings came roaring back in the second frame on their way to winning in overtime. The Sharks, on the other hand, have gone 1-2-1 since facing the Blues, including back-to-back losses to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday and Saturday. Although San Jose was able to rally in Friday's game and push play into overtime before losing 5-4, the Sharks were completely stymied by Marc-Andre Fleury in Saturday's rematch, getting shut out 4-0. Consider that San Jose is 19-39 in their last 58 vs. a team with a winning record. |
03-07-21 | Senators v. Flames -163 | 4-3 | Loss | -163 | 12 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Senators have been awaiting this match since losing a 7-3 clash with the Flames in Calgary on Thursday. They have lost two straight games and three of four outings, and know they must improve their defensive play. That said, the young Senators have been guilty of over-trying at times, pulling themselves out of position in an attempt to defend and leaving their opponents open in the resulting confusion. The Senators, who sit last in the North Division, do need better goaltending from Matt Murray. Even if his team is struggling to defend, Murray has not been up to snuff, and been pulled in four of 18 starts, including the last outing. Consider that the favorite is 17-8 in the last 25 meetings while the home team is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings. |
03-06-21 | Panthers -138 v. Predators | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Heading into Friday's matches, Ekblad -- the No. 1 overall selection in the 2014 draft by the Panthers -- tops all NHL defensemen with eight goals. In the clubs' first meeting on Feb. 4, Huberdeau and Nashville's Filip Forsberg had a duel of five-point nights, and each scored multiple points again Thursday. The victory pushed the Panthers to 6-2-2 in their past 10 and 7-1-1 on the road. With No. 1 goalie Juuse Saros (upper body) placed on injured reserve, Pekka Rinne kept Nashville in the third game between the teams despite giving up three goals in the game's first 20:59. Rinne, 38, denied a number of top-shelf chances and odd-man rushes by Florida to hold the second-period deficit at 3-0, and the Predators gradually clawed back in the game. Consider that the favorite is 16-7 in the last 23 meetings. |
03-06-21 | Sabres v. Islanders -205 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 4 h 46 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Things are going so well for the New York Islanders that they're getting multi-goal games from fourth-line players and stout goaltending from a rookie backup. Things are not going nearly that well for the Buffalo Sabres. The Islanders will look to remain red hot and deepen the Sabres' misery Saturday afternoon when New York hosts Buffalo in the middle game of a three-game series in Uniondale, N.Y. Matt Martin had his first multi-goal game in almost seven years Thursday night as the Islanders never trailed and Ilya Sorokin made 16 saves in a 5-2 win. Consider that Buffalo is 2-12 in the last 14 meetings. |
03-05-21 | Wild -135 v. Coyotes | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 49 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Wild arrive in Arizona having lost a 5-1 clash to the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday. The game that was much closer than the one-sided score would indicate, as Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 36 shots, including all 20 that went his way in the third period. Minnesota dropped a 5-4 overtime game in Vegas two nights earlier. Before heading to Vegas, the Wild were riding a six-game winning streak, so their confidence isn't shaken. Consider that Minnesota is 15-7 in their last 22 road games while Arizona is 6-16 in their last 22 games following a win. |
03-04-21 | Panthers -130 v. Predators | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Nashville provided updates Tuesday on three players it will have a hard time replacing, putting the pressure on the Predators' reserves to step in and provide a spark as the club tries to gain ground in the standings. Center Ryan Johansen was placed on the COVID-19 protocol list. Forward Luke Kunin (lower body, two to four weeks) and defenseman Ryan Ellis (upper body, four to six weeks) also landed on the IR. Adding to their injury woes, starting goalie Juuse Saros left after the first period following helmet-to-helmet contact with Carolina's Nino Niederreiter. Consider that Florida is 18-8 in their last 26 vs. a team with a losing record. |
03-04-21 | Sabres v. Islanders -185 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders have won four of five (4-0-1) and are 9-2-2 since Feb. 6. Goalie Semyon Varlamov stopped the first 28 shots he faced before the Devils' Miles Wood scored with 13.2 seconds left to cost New York a chance at having different goalies post shutouts in back-to-back games. The Sabres snapped a scoreless drought of two-plus games but still lost their fourth straight (0-3-1) and fell to 2-7-1 since resuming play following a coronavirus pause on Feb. 15. Buffalo, which is in the midst of an NHL-worst nine-season postseason drought, has a league-low 15 points. The Sabres, who suffered consecutive 3-0 losses to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and Sunday, have scored two goals or fewer in seven of their last eight losses and have collected 16 goals in the last 10 games. Buffalo hasn't led since it had a pair of one-goal leads in a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils on Feb. 25. Consider that Buffalo is 18-53 in their last 71 road games. |
03-03-21 | Blues -142 v. Ducks | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The St. Louis Blues will take a relentless offense into a rematch with the Anaheim Ducks tonight. The Blues' defense remains a different story. The Blues will enter the second game of a back-to-back at Anaheim having scored 12 goals in their past two games. The most recent goal-scoring onslaught came Monday when St. Louis scored five times yet still received a scare in a 5-4 victory. The game was a slightly milder version of the Blues' 7-6 victory at San Jose on Saturday. That triumph ended a three-game losing streak. As the Blues work their way through several injuries, scoring goals aplenty is nice. They led 4-1 at one point Monday before the Ducks pulled to within one goal twice. Consider that Anaheim is 5-17 in their last 22 games as an underdog while St. Louis is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings in Anaheim. |
03-02-21 | Canucks v. Jets -114 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 9 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Jets came into last night's game complacent after four-straight victories, but that won't be the case tonight after the humbling shut-out loss. Despite the setback, note that Winnipeg is still 5-1 in its last six at home. Vancouver on the other hand is just 2-9 in its last 12 after shutting out its previous opponent and winning by three or more goals in the process. |
03-01-21 | Avalanche -210 v. Sharks | 2-6 | Loss | -210 | 13 h 5 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After scoring only five goals in the previous three games, the Colorado Avalanche hope their six-goal outburst over the weekend leads to another scoring binge tonight when they open a two-game set in San Jose with the Sharks. The Avalanche got goals from six different players in routing Arizona 6-2 Saturday, when 12 different guys had at least one goal or an assist. But then again, San Jose also scored six goals Saturday night. The difference was, the Sharks lost to St. Louis, 7-6. This is the third meeting this season between the two teams, with the Avalanche winning both late-January games in Colorado. The Avalanche outscored the Sharks 10-3 in the two games. Consider that Colorado is 20-8 in their last 28 road games. |
03-01-21 | Blues -133 v. Ducks | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The St. Louis Blues at least had Sunday to rest and reflect on a wild, 13-goal game in advance of a road matchup today against the Anaheim Ducks. The Blues earned a 7-6 victory at San Jose on Saturday in a game that was uncharacteristically void of defense for St. Louis. And while it was a rough day to be a goaltender, Blues goalie Jordan Binnington still managed to make an impact ... after he was pulled from the game. The Blues were able to end a three-game losing streak and now face a Ducks team that has lost six in a row. The Blues and Ducks also will play at Anaheim on Wednesday. Consider that the favorite is 37-16 in the last 53 meetings between these two clubs. |
03-01-21 | Canucks v. Jets -130 | 4-0 | Loss | -130 | 11 h 42 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Vancouver Canucks feel like they are getting a raw deal, that their game is better than the results show. Even if they're winless in their last four starts. They would like to think the turnaround will start tonight with a two-day, two-game trip to Winnipeg to face the Jets. All season, Hawryluk has been witness to the action rather than a participant. The Canucks signed the 25-year-old in the offseason to a one-year, two-way contract. Then he was hurt in the final scrimmage of training camp. Hawryluk played 3:28 in his season debut Thursday, a 3-0 loss to the visiting Edmonton Oilers. They will need to play very well or get some breaks against the Jets, who beat the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 in overtime Saturday for their fourth straight win. Consider that Vancouver is 5-17 in the last 22 meetings vs Winnipeg. |
02-28-21 | Capitals -135 v. Devils | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 60 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Caps outshot the Devils 14-8 in the first period. Defenseman John Carlson, who had two assists for the Capitals, admitted his team may have let up a little once it built the 3-0 lead. The win was a signal to the team that the Capitals are finding their stride, said Eller, who scored the eventual game-winner. He particularly liked the way they started Saturday against the Devils and Thursday in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Consider that Washington is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in New Jersey, including 21-6 in the last 27 meetings overall. |
02-27-21 | Red Wings v. Blackhawks -155 | 5-3 | Loss | -155 | 10 h 60 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Chicago Blackhawks will shoot for their third win in a row when they host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night in the first game of a back-to-back set. Chicago is coming off a pair of road wins against the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the week. The Blackhawks posted a 6-5 shootout victory on Tuesday, then added a 2-0 win on Thursday. Strong goaltending has been a key to the Blackhawks' success this season. Rookie Kevin Lankinen has produced an 8-3-3 record to go along with a 2.59 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage, and Malcolm Subban has shined as a backup by going 3-1-1 with a 2.13 GAA and a .930 save percentage. Today's matchup will be the fifth of the season between the teams. Chicago owns a perfect 4-0-0 record in the season series, including two wins at home and two on the road. Consider that Detroit is 5-16 in their last 21 games following a win. |
02-27-21 | Stars v. Lightning -182 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Tampa Bay, which claimed its second Stanley Cup in six games over Dallas in October, has regained its footing and won three consecutive games, wrapping up a four-game set with a 3-1 victory Thursday over the Carolina Hurricanes. While the offense has slipped some, goalies Andrei Vasilevskiy and Curtis McElhinney, plus a strong defensive corps, backstopped the club and protected the net in winning three of four against Carolina. After the Lightning went through a recent 1-3-0 stretch, Vasilevskiy (11-3-1, 1.87 goals against, .935 save percentage) notched his 22nd career shutout in a 3-0 win Wednesday, and McElhinney stopped 31 of 32 shots in the finale. Consider that Tampa Bay is 69-29 in their last 98 home games. |
02-26-21 | Avalanche -170 v. Coyotes | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 14 h 49 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units While the Coyotes have had two straight unlikely victories, the Avalanche have lost consecutive games for the first time this season. They dropped a 6-2 decision at home Wednesday to Minnesota after being blanked 3-0 by Vegas on Monday. Consider that Colorado is 18-8 in their last 26 road games while Arizona is 6-15 in their last 21 games following a win. In addition, Colorado is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while the favorite is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. |
02-25-21 | Oilers v. Canucks +123 | 3-0 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Canucks are offering very fair value as home underdogs here. Yes, the Oilers have won four in a row. They're a money-burning 74-95 (-32.4) over the years, when off three or more consecutive victories though. That includes a 5-10 (-5.6) mark their last 15 in that situation. Off three straight close losses, the most recent to these same Oilers, the Canucks are going to be extremely motivated. This is the final leg of a 4-game homestand for Vancouver, which adds to the desperation. The Canucks are a perfect 5-0 the past five times that they played their previous three at home, 26-14 (+15.9) their last 40 in that situation. |
02-25-21 | Penguins v. Capitals OVER 6.5 | 2-5 | Win | 109 | 7 h 30 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units As long as Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are playing, then these two teams will always be considered the most fiercist of rivals. These teams played here two nights ago and the Pens won 3-2 in OT. I'm expecting a more wide-open contest here though and I look for this total to eclipse the posted number sooner, rather than later. Pittsburgh has won three straight. The Pens average 3.00 GPG and they allow 3.24. The Capitals average 3.28 GPG, but they concede 3.39. A faster-paced game = more shots and more shots = more goals. Consider the "over" in this East Division matchup. |
02-24-21 | Hurricanes v. Lightning -135 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units As usual, two points were at stake when Tampa Bay and Carolina met for third time on Monday night, but the Lightning had a little something else on the line as well: pride. The Lightning snapped a two-game losing streak, which included Hurricanes backup goalie Alex Nedeljkovic's first career shutout on Saturday, and won for just the second time in five games with a 4-2 victory on Monday in Raleigh, N.C. The scene shifts for the two Central Division clubs, who play four times in six days, as the series travels to Tampa for Wednesday's match in the first of a back-to-back set. Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman said he and his teammates looked inside themselves after the brief winless stretch against Carolina. Consider that Tampa Bay is 98-29 in their last 127 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-23-21 | Predators -152 v. Red Wings | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Nashville's Pekka Rinne, who made 21 saves on Saturday, posted a 3.02 goals-against average in starting both of those contests against Detroit. Teammate Juuse Saros, meanwhile, is 0-3-0 with a 4.58 goals-against average during four starts this month, but owns a 2.75 GAA in four career games opposite the Red Wings. Detroit snapped an 0-2-1 home rut with Saturday's 2-1 victory over surging Florida. Patrik Nemeth and rookie Mathias Brome each scored their first goal of the season in the second period, and Jonathan Bernier stopped 38 shots as the Wings won for just the fifth time in 2020-21. They last won back-to-back games on March 6 and 8 of last year. Consider that Detroit is 22-45 in their last 67 games as a home underdog, 15-40 in their last 55 games playing on 2 days rest, and 7-19 in their last 26 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-22-21 | Ducks v. Coyotes -155 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Arizona has won four of the last five home games against the Ducks. Anaheim has scored only one goal in each of its last two games and the Ducks don't even have a single player with double-digit in points right now. The Coyotes have normally enjoyed a home ice advantage over the years, but that's not been the case this season as they've got four losses in their last five in friendly confines. However, here's the perfect opponent to get untracked against, as note that the Coyotes are 5-1 in their last six when playing on one days rest. The Ducks are 7-19 in their last 26 after scoring two goals or less in their last game. |
02-22-21 | Stars v. Panthers OVER 5.5 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 43 m | Show |
Rating: 3 Unit NHL Total of the Day Consider that the 9-3-4 in Stars last 16 road games, 5-2 in Stars last 7 overall, 5-2 in Stars last 7 vs. NHL, and 5-2 in Stars last 7 vs. Central. While the over is 19-7 in Panthers last 26 Monday games and 42-20-2 in Panthers last 64 games playing on 1 days rest. |
02-21-21 | Flyers v. Bruins -174 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Flyers are heading to Boston without several key players due to health and safety protocols. They are coming off a 3-2 home loss to the Rangers in their first game back after four consecutive postponements. They have lost three of their last four overall. The Flyers are 5-14 in the last 19 meetings in Boston, and they have failed to cover in four straight as an underdog. The Bruins are 9-3 in their last 12 overall. |
02-20-21 | Flames v. Oilers -121 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 12 h 12 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The first-goal bugaboo is costing the Calgary Flames, and that will be a focus when they hit the ice for a road clash against the Edmonton Oilers tonight. A 2-1 loss to their provincial rivals Friday night was the 11th time in 17 games the Flames surrendered the first goal. As much as they stayed in the game until the end, the lesson was obvious. Therefore, emotions were mixed about having taken any steps forward during their third loss in four outings. The Flames have a 4-7-0 mark when allowing the first goal, and in Friday's clash, the Oilers gave a perfect example of how to choke the life out of a team in the third period. The Flames managed only five third-period shots on goal, too few for a team that's being questioned about its determination. The need to find emotion is a worrisome development considering the Flames are on the outside of a playoff spot and were facing their biggest rivals, who are on a roll. Thanks to the Friday win, the Oilers have won eight of their past 10 games. |
02-20-21 | Panthers -172 v. Red Wings | 1-2 | Loss | -172 | 7 h 16 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The biggest issue that the Florida Panthers might have today is fighting overconfidence. The Panthers overwhelmed the Red Wings 7-2 on Friday night, and the teams will face each other once again this afternoon in Detroit. Florida has won four of the five meetings with Detroit this season and Bobrovsky is 2-0-0 against the Red Wings. The Panthers have won six straight in Detroit, with the Red Wings' last home victory over the Panthers coming on Jan. 5, 2018. Detroit has lost its last three games overall (0-2-1), and the margin of defeat Friday was its largest this season. |
02-20-21 | Golden Knights v. Avalanche -111 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 5 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Knights and Colorado are trying to stay in the top four of the West Division. Vegas is second and the Avalanche third, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs after the 56-game regular season. The Knights will have to shrug off the 3-2 loss at home. They rallied to tie it at 2-2 only to see Nazem Kadri score on a scramble in front of the net with 41 seconds left. It was an offensive explosion of sorts for Colorado after being shut out by Marc-Andre Fleury on Sunday. Consider that Colorado is 12-4 in their last 16 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while Vegas is 2-5 in the last 7 meetings vs Colorado. |
02-19-21 | Panthers -176 v. Red Wings | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Florida Panthers can thank the Detroit Red Wings for contributing to their strong road start. They've actually fared quite well at Detroit over the years. Looking to match a club record with at least one point in each of their first seven road contests, the surging Panthers aim for a fifth consecutive away victory over the struggling Red Wings on Friday night. Florida's among the NHL's top teams through the first month of the season with 10 wins and 22 points through 14 games, largely because of its 5-0-1 road mark. The Panthers earned points in their first seven road games (4-0-3) in 1996-97. Florida's current four-game road winning streak began with 3-2 wins at Detroit on Jan. 30-31. Since November 2009, the Panthers are 14-2-1 at Detroit. Huberdeau has two goals with 11 assists in 13 career games at Detroit, and 13 points during his last eight against the Wings overall. |
02-18-21 | Sabres v. Capitals -151 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units With much of their regular lineup finally back, the Capitals snapped their losing streak Tuesday with a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Washington collected a season-high 42 shots in the victory while rookie goalie Vitek Vanecek stopped 26 of 27 shots. Nicklas Backstrom recorded an assist for his team-leading 19th point of the season. The forward has two goals and four assists over the course of a four-game points streak. Washington is 3-0-1 in four previous meetings with Buffalo this season. Vanecek has delivered some of his best work against the Sabres, going 2-0-1 with a .934 save percentage and 2.21 goals against average in three games. Vanecek is likely to make his 12th consecutive start on Thursday, as Washington has relied on the rookie while Ilya Samsonov continues to recover from a COVID-19 diagnosis. Dating back to the 2014-15 season, the Capitals hold a 15-3-2 record in their last 20 games against the Sabres. |
02-18-21 | Devils v. Bruins -201 | 3-2 | Loss | -201 | 7 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Devils face the well-rested Bruins, who are unlikely to be in a very good mood after absorbing just their second regulation loss of the season Saturday. Boston is 0-2-0 against the Islanders and 10-0-2 against everyone else. The Bruins entered Wednesday with the most points in the Eastern Conference, but their fast start has come in spite of a sputtering offense. Boston has scored 12 of its 42 goals via the power play but is 0-for-10 in power-play chances the past four games, a span in which it has scored just eight goals overall. The four days off between games allowed head coach Bruce Cassidy to tinker with the Bruins' lines. During practice Monday, Cassidy placed Jake DeBrusk on the top line in place of David Pastrnak, who skated on the second line. Pastrnak is tied for second on the Bruins with three even-strength goals and tied for fourth with 10 points, but Cassidy said he hoped the shuffling would have a trickle-down effect. DeBrusk has yet to score in nine games after collecting 19 goals in 65 regular-season games last year. |
02-17-21 | Jets v. Oilers OVER 6.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 31 m | Show |
Rating: 20 Unit NHL Total of the Year The over is 5-1-1 in Oilers last 7 vs. a team with a winning record, 4-1 in Oilers last 5 home games, and 7-3 in Oilers last 10 games as a home favorite. In addition, the over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. |
02-17-21 | Blackhawks -131 v. Red Wings | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Chicago Blackhawks got off to a slow start this season, but they're working overtime to make up for it. The Blackhawks are 6-1-1 in their past eight games, with four overtime victories, entering Wednesday night's back end of a two-game series at Detroit. Chicago opened a six-game trip with a 3-2 victory against the Red Wings on Monday as Dominik Kubalik scored his second goal of the game with 17 seconds remaining in OT. Chicago leads 3-0 in the season series between the teams. The Blackhawks lead the league in games that end in extra time, with six games decided in overtime and two more in a shootout. Consider that Detroit is 14-54 in their last 68 overall. |
02-16-21 | Capitals v. Penguins OVER 6.5 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -117 | 7 h 37 m | Show |
Rating: 10 Unit 10* NHL Total of the Month The over is 18-7-2 in Capitals last 27 Tuesday games and 27-11-1 in Capitals last 39 vs. a team with a winning record. While the over is 8-1 in Penguins last 9 games as a favorite and 4-1 in Penguins last 5 overall. In addition the over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings in Pittsburgh and 7-0 in the last 7 meetings. |
02-15-21 | Blackhawks -134 v. Red Wings | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 60 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Chicago recorded two home victories over Detroit last month by scores of 4-1 and 6-2. At the time, the Wings were missing a handful of players due to the league's health and safety COVID-19 protocols. The lopsided nature of those wins stands out for the Blackhawks, since most of their subsequent games haven't been decided in regulation. Their last three victories have come in overtime, and three of their other 10 games since facing Detroit have gone to overtime or shootouts. Alex DeBrincat scored the game-winner 35 seconds into overtime on Saturday in Chicago's 3-2 home win over Columbus. DeBrincat has collected the decisive goal in three of the Blackhawks' last five outings. Consider that 14-53 in their last 67 overall. |

02-15-21 | Islanders -125 v. Sabres | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Immediate success for Buffalo might be tough to come by considering how many important contributors could be missing. The Sabres last lost consecutive games in defeats at Philadelphia on Jan. 19 and a setback at Washington three days later. They are also 2-3-1 at home this season. Buffalo hasn't had much success while amid an 0-2-1 rut against the Islanders, who have won three of their last four games and are 3-0-3 over the last six. Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored twice and Jordan Eberle had a goal with an assist as New York posted two third-period goals in a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Consider that Buffalo is 5-12 in their last 17 overall and 2-10 in their last 12 games as an underdog. |
02-15-21 | Panthers v. Lightning UNDER 6 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 31 m | Show |
Rating: 4 Unit NHL Total of the Day The under is 6-2 in Panthers last 8 road games, 4-1 in Panthers last 5 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game, and 7-3-1 in Panthers last 11 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. While the under is 5-2-1 in Lightning last 8 Monday games. |
02-13-21 | Flames -130 v. Canucks | 1-3 | Loss | -130 | 12 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Calgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom has had his way against his old team already this season, and tonight in Vancouver, he hopes the trend continues. Not that the erstwhile Canucks goalie has hard feelings against his former teammates. Quite the opposite. But after signing a six-year, $36 million free agent contract to join the Flames in the offseason, he has been at his best when facing Vancouver. With Markstrom between the pipes, the Flames have won all three meetings so far this season, including a 3-1 affair Thursday night. Markstrom has stopped 90 of 93 shots faced in those contests, one of them a shutout. He was a major factor in the most recent result, even though the Canucks were the better team through two periods. Consider that Calgary is 13-4 in their last 17 games as a favorite while the favorite is 40-19 in the last 59 meetings between these two clubs. |
02-13-21 | Lightning v. Panthers OVER 5.5 | Top | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
NHL Total of the Day The over is 6-1 in Lightning last 7 games playing on 1 days rest, 4-1-1 in Lightning last 6 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and 46-22-4 in Lightning last 72 Saturday games. While the over is 18-7-1 in Panthers last 26 Saturday games, 36-16-1 in Panthers last 53 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game, and 41-20-4 in Panthers last 65 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. |
02-13-21 | Senators v. Jets -220 | 2-1 | Loss | -220 | 5 h 26 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Winnipeg Jets have defeated the Ottawa Senators four times in as many meetings this season. But to hear the Jets tell it, they'll have to be at their best when the teams wrap up a two-game series this afternoon in Winnipeg. The Jets won the opener 5-1 on Thursday as Connor Hellebuyck made 41 saves and Paul Stastny and Nikolaj Ehlers each had a goal and an assist. Captain Blake Wheeler, Mathieu Perreault and defenseman Neal Pionk also scored for Winnipeg and Mark Scheifele had two assists. Consider that Ottawa is 12-48 in their last 60 road games. |
02-12-21 | Blues -126 v. Coyotes | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 14 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units With Robert Thomas sidlelined by a broken thumb, Berube moved checkers Ivan Barbashev and Oskar Sundqvist into scoring-line roles and added physical winger Mackenzie MacEachern to Monday's lineup. The Blues looked more like their old selves as a result. They put 43 shots on goal at one end and blocked 28 at the other. They picked up their physical play and recorded 21 hits. Captain Ryan O'Reilly scored two goals and added an assist in that game, giving him six points in his last five games. David Perron has five points in his last five games. Consider that St. Louis is 20-7 in their last 27 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in Arizona. |
02-12-21 | Bruins -171 v. Rangers | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 5 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Boston is 8-2 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record, 37-14 in their last 51 games following a win, and 57-25 in their last 82 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. While New York is 9-20 in their last 29 vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 11-27 in their last 38 Friday games, and 4-12 in their last 16 overall. In addition, the favorite is 20-8 in the last 28 meetings. |
02-11-21 | Ducks v. Golden Knights -215 | 1-0 | Loss | -215 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Vegas Golden Knights, who have yet to lose in regulation at home this season, will look to try and complete a sweep of its two-game series with the Anaheim Ducks tonight in Las Vegas. Vegas improved to 7-0-1 at home with a wild 5-4 victory on Tuesday night, blowing a three-goal lead in the third period before defenseman Zach Whitecloud, with the aid of a screen by Ryan Reaves, scored the winner with 3:56 remaining on a rebound of a William Carrier shot. It was the third straight victory for the Golden Knights, who improved to 8-1-1 overall, the best 10-game start in franchise history. The only regulation loss came at Arizona, 5-2 on Jan. 22, with the only home setback four nights later to the St. Louis Blues, 5-4 in a shootout. Consider that Vegas is 21-6 in their last 27 games as a home favorite. |
02-11-21 | Senators v. Jets -200 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 33 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Ehlers found the net in all three meetings with Ottawa this season, including scoring in overtime to lift Winnipeg to a 4-3 victory on Jan. 19. Ehlers collected a goal and an assist in both the Jets' 4-1 win over the Senators two nights later and their 6-3 triumph on Jan. 23. "(Ehlers is) gifted. ... He's got all the tools," said Andrew Copp, who set up both of Ehlers' goals on Tuesday. "If we can continue to get better as a line, find that rhythm, as a line we can be really dangerous." Mark Scheifele extended his point streak to four games (two goals, three assists) after setting up Ehlers' second goal against the Flames. Scheifele boosted his club-best totals in assists (10) and points (15) by notching five assists and seven points in the three encounters with Ottawa last month. The struggling Senators showed heart on Tuesday before dropping a 3-2 decision to the Edmonton Oilers, marking their third straight loss and 12th in the last 13 games (1-11-1). Ottawa held a 42-22 edge in shots, including 30-10 over the last two periods. Consider that Ottawa is 5-21 in their last 26 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-11-21 | Red Wings v. Predators -168 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Red Wings, who finished with the worst record in the NHL last season, handed Florida its first regulation loss of the season Sunday and lost by a narrow 2-1 margin to the host Panthers on Tuesday, with the game decided by a fluke goal that bounced off an attacker's shoulder and into the net. The Red Wings remain in last place in the Central Division but have a chance to get out of the cellar when they wrap up a six-game trip with a two-game series at seventh-place Nashville. Detroit coach Jeff Blashill was pleased with the defensive effort but is looking for more consistency on the offensive end. The Red Wings have scored just seven goals through the first four games of their trip, with four of those coming in Sunday's victory. They have scored a lone goal in the three other games. Consider that Detroit is 13-52 in their last 65 overall. |
02-11-21 | Lightning v. Panthers OVER 5.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 27 m | Show |
Rating: 5 Unit NHL Total of the Week The over is 7-3-1 in Lightning last 11 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game, 7-3 in Lightning last 10 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game, and 7-3-2 in Lightning last 12 games following a win. While the over is 21-7 in Panthers last 28 Thursday games, 8-3-2 in Panthers last 13 games a home underdog, and 35-16-1 in Panthers last 52 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. In addition, the over is 39-18 in the last 57 meetings between these two teams. |
02-09-21 | Lightning -167 v. Predators | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 53 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After starting arguably the NHL's best goaltender for each of the season's first nine games, Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper knew he had an important issue at hand. Andrei Vasilevskiy needed a night off, and he got one Monday when the Lightning beat the host Nashville Predators 4-1 for their fifth consecutive win. The teams meet again Tuesday in Nashville, and Vasilevskiy figures to back between the pipes. Vasilevskiy, the 2019 Vezina Trophy winner, has been rock solid again for Cooper after guiding the Lightning to the franchise's second Stanley Cup championship last season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Cooper had to lean on the 26-year-old Russian a little more than he expected. Backup Curtis McElhinney went on the COVID-19 protocol list Jan. 16 -- just two games into the season -- and came off two weeks later. With his backup sidelined, Vasilevskiy hunkered down and started night after night for Tampa Bay, going 7-1-1 and posting sterling numbers -- a 1.88 goals-against average and .931 save percentage. He has allowed two tallies or fewer in seven of his nine starts. Consider that Tampa Bay is 97-27 in their last 124 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-09-21 | Oilers -195 v. Senators | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 3 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Edmonton is a perfect 3-0-0 against the Senators this season, including a 3-1 victory on Monday night. All three of those victories are part of the Oilers' 4-1-0 record over their past five games. Scoring continues to be an issue for the Senators despite their improved play. Monday marked the sixth time in 10 games that Ottawa was held to a single goal. Even the Senators' only goal on Monday wasn't technically their own score, as Evgenii Dadonov was given official credit after Oilers defenseman Adam Larsson accidentally tipped the puck into his own net. Goalie Matt Murray started for the Senators on Monday, so Marcus Hogberg is Ottawa's probable starter in the second end of the back-to-back set. Hogberg has an 0-4-0 record, a 4.54 goals against average and an .844 save percentage in five games this season. Consider that Ottawa is 7-24 in their last 31 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-08-21 | Canucks v. Maple Leafs -189 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 2 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Auston Matthews will look to continue his torrid play on Monday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs bid for a three-game sweep of the visiting Vancouver Canucks. Matthews has scored at least one goal in each of the past seven games in which he has played, including twice in Toronto's 5-1 romp versus Vancouver on Saturday. The former top overall pick has scored nine goals during that run, and has 10 tallies and three assists during his past nine games overall. Toronto, which sports a 6-0-1 mark during that stretch, has outscored Vancouver by a 12-4 margin over the past two contests. The Maple Leafs' dominance of the Canucks in Toronto is nothing new, as they have won their past nine home encounters with Vancouver dating to Feb. 8, 2014. |
02-08-21 | Islanders v. Rangers -109 | 2-0 | Loss | -109 | 5 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Following the first two matchups, the Islanders won two straight but then went 0-3-2 in their next five games, a stretch that included blowing a three-goal lead through 20 minutes by allowing five goals in the second period of a 6-3 loss at Washington on Jan. 28. The skid continued with a pair of overtime losses at Philadelphia and then ended with a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night in their first game following consecutive postponements due to COVID-19 issues with the Buffalo Sabres. Consider that the NY Islanders are 8-18 in their last 26 games as an underdog. |

NHL Total of the Day |

02-07-21 | Blackhawks v. Stars -147 | 2-1 | Loss | -147 | 5 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Dallas though has won all four of its home games this year, anchored by one of the best offenses in the league that averages 3.8 GPG. Not to be outdone though, the Stars are also one of the best defensive clubs this season by allowing only 2.6 GPG. Chicago is just 1-4 in its last five following a win. |
02-07-21 | Hurricanes -139 v. Blue Jackets | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Consider that Columbus is 12-25 in their last 37 overall and 3-7 in their last 10 games as an underdog. While Carolina is 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Central, 6-2 in their last 8 games as a road favorite, and 58-28 in their last 86 games as a favorite. |
02-07-21 | Red Wings v. Panthers -220 | 4-1 | Loss | -220 | 5 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Consider that Detroit is 14-37 in their last 51 games playing on 1 days rest, 27-74 in their last 101 vs. a team with a winning record, 12-40 in their last 52 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game, and 15-52 in their last 67 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. While Florida is 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Central, 5-2 in their last 7 home games, and 55-26 in their last 81 vs. a team with a winning % below .400. In addition, the Favorite is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings |
02-06-21 | Canucks v. Maple Leafs -184 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Maple Leafs have defeated every team in the North Division this season and have eight wins. The Canucks have two games left on a six-game trip that started last Saturday with a win over the Winnipeg Jets and continued with losses to the Montreal Canadiens on Monday and Tuesday. The Canucks will have to contend with Matthews, who has scored in five straight games for a total of six goals, and Mitchell Marner, who has points in six straight games (two goals, eight assists) after getting a goal and two assists on Thursday. The game on Thursday was the first for the Maple Leafs after taking seven of a possible eight points on an Alberta road trip. Toronto won twice at Calgary, then split a pair of games at Edmonton with an overtime loss. Consider that Toronto is 39-17 in their last 56 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game while Vancouver is 0-8 in the last 8 meetings in Toronto. |
02-06-21 | Canadiens -240 v. Senators | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 3 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Murray (2-4-1, 4.40 goals-against average) could be back in net for the Senators, who are playing their first home game since Jan. 21. Backup Marcus Hogberg (0-4-0, 4.54 GAA), though, could be in line for his fourth start of the season. Either will try to help the Senators hand Montreal back-to-back losses for the first time in 2020-21. Thursday's defeat marked just the second time this season that the Canadiens lost in regulation. Josh Anderson scored for the third time in two games and seventh overall for the Canadiens, who admit they were outplayed all over the ice after owning an 11-5 goal advantage in sweeping Vancouver over the previous two contests. The Canadiens' Carey Price (4-1-2, 2.81 GAA) saw his three-game winning streak come to a halt after yielding three goals on 22 shots. He's stopped 90 of 93 shots during a personal three-game winning stretch at Ottawa. Jake Allen, who's posted a 2.02 goals-against average and .930 save percentage while winning three of his first four starts for Montreal, could also get the nod on Saturday. Consider that Ottawa is 13-43 in their last 56 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-05-21 | Predators v. Panthers -126 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Bobrovsky, who made 35 saves but blew a 5-3 third-period lead, likely will get a rest on Friday. Backup Chris Driedger has been brilliant this season with a 2-0-1 record, a .937 save percentage and a 1.95 goals-against average. Quenneville, meanwhile, made a crucial strategic decision that backfired after Nashville's Roman Josi scored to cut Florida's lead to 5-4 with 2:06 left in the third period. After the goal, Florida challenged the play due to what the Panthers believed was a high stick. The challenge was denied, and, by rule, the Panthers were hit with a two-minute penalty. Nashville then pulled its goalie for a six-on-four advantage, and that's when Duchene scored to set up overtime. Consider that Florida is 35-17 in their last 52 vs. a team with a losing record. |
02-05-21 | Bruins -132 v. Flyers | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Philadelphia Flyers have struggled mightily against the Boston Bruins all season. The Flyers will look to snap a frustrating trend when they host the Bruins again on Friday. Philadelphia couldn't hold a two-goal lead and fell 4-3 in overtime to the Bruins on Wednesday, dropping the Flyers to 0-3 against Boston this season. Consider that Boston is 39-16 in their last 55 games following a win. |
02-04-21 | Hurricanes -181 v. Blackhawks | 4-6 | Loss | -181 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Carolina Hurricanes will go for their sixth win in a row when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks tonight. Carolina is coming off a 4-3 win in the shootout round against the Blackhawks two nights earlier. It marked the second straight shootout victory for the Hurricanes, who have only one loss on the season. Andrei Svechnikov, Warren Foegele and Vincent Trocheck each scored during the first 60 minutes for Carolina. Svechnikov added the goal during the shootout round that lifted Carolina to its fifth straight win. James Reimer earned the victory Tuesday against the Blackhawks by stopping 30 of 33 shots in regulation and overtime, as well as stopping all three attempts by the Blackhawks in the shootout round. Reimer improved to a perfect 4-0-0 this season with a 2.19 GAA and a .915 save percentage. |
02-04-21 | Predators v. Panthers -109 | 6-5 | Loss | -109 | 5 h 32 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Nashville is 1-5 in their last 6 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game, 0-4 in their last 4 games following a loss of 3 or more goals, 0-4 in their last 4 games as an underdog, and 0-6 in their last 6 road games. While Florida is 6-2 in their last 8 games playing on 3 or more days rest, 5-2 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and 35-17 in their last 52 vs. a team with a losing record. |
02-04-21 | Predators v. Panthers OVER 5.5 | Top | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 16 m | Show |
Rating: 3 Unit NHL Total of the Day The over is - 3-0-1 in Predators last 4 games as an underdog, 4-1 in Predators last 5 road games, and 9-3 in Predators last 12 games as a road underdog. While the over is 15-5-2 in Panthers last 22 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days, 20-7 in Panthers last 27 Thursday games, 8-3 in Panthers last 11 games playing on 3 or more days rest, and 10-4 in Panthers last 14 games as a home favorite. |
02-02-21 | Senators v. Oilers -220 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 47 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Oilers' are on fire up front as McDavid and Draisaitl have been lighting it up like no tomorrow and lead the league in points. When you put them up against the worst team in the league when it comes to goals against (4.89) you have the recipe of a MASSIVE WIN!! Edmonton averages 4.6 goals a game and the power play is clicking like a well "oiled" machine Ottawa will have to do their best to stay out of the box especially with a horrible penalty kill that ranks among the bottom of the league. |
02-02-21 | Coyotes v. Blues -164 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The St. Louis Blues hope to ride the momentum of recent road success when they host the Arizona Coyotes today. The Blues defeated the Vegas Golden Knights once and the Anaheim Ducks twice last week before returning home to Enterprise Center. The Coyotes have lost four of their last six games, but they are coming off of a 3-2 victory over the Ducks at home on Thursday. The Coyotes will face a hot goaltender in Jordan Binnington, who is 3-0-1 in his last four starts with a .939 save percentage. Consider that Arizona is 8-20 in the last 28 meetings. |
02-01-21 | Flames -116 v. Jets | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Jacob Markstrom's 37-save shutout performance in a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday is exactly what the Calgary Flames were looking for when they signed him via free agency. The Flames, who snapped a three-game losing skid with the win, are looking for more of the same when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Monday in the first of three meetings in four nights in Winnipeg. The Flames have struggled to find a true No. 1 goalie since Miikka Kiprusoff's scintillating performances before he retired after the 2012-13 season, and that's why Markstrom was lured with a six-year, $36-million contract. He rewarded them with a brilliant performance in Montreal. Consider that Winnipeg is 5-11 in their last 16 games as a home underdog and 5-12 in their last 17 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
02-01-21 | Canucks v. Canadiens -160 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Habs hadn't lost in regulation until they ran into a hot goalie in a 2-0 loss to Calgary on Saturday. They host the Vancouver Canucks tonight, and Vancouver comes in as winners of four straight. History suggests that the Canucks might be in tough here in Montreal. They are 5-17 in the last 22 head to head meetings, and they have lost six of seven in Montreal. Braden Holtby has faced the Habs twice already this season, giving up nine goals on 68 shots. Thatcher Demko was also lit up in a 7-3 home loss to Montreal. |
02-01-21 | Predators v. Lightning -167 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 14 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The first meeting between the visiting Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday wasn't just another game in the Central Division. Today's rematch in Tampa likely won't be either. On a night that featured some great firsts, early-season chippy play and a lead that almost got away, the Lightning snapped their scoreless drought and a four-game home losing streak to Nashville with a 4-3 victory. Consider that Tampa Bay is 33-14 in their last 47 games following a win, 42-18 in their last 60 games as a favorite, and 103-45 in their last 148 games as a home favorite. |
01-31-21 | Senators v. Oilers -193 | Top | 5-8 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show |
Rating: 3 Unit NHL Play of the Day The Ottawa Senators are having a tough enough time keeping the puck out of their net and it may be even harder when they suit up for a road clash against the Edmonton Oilers tonight. Ottawa's top defenseman Thomas Chabot is listed as day-to-day after he crashed into the net in Thursday's loss in Vancouver. Chabot will do what he can to suit up, but Artem Zub will make his NHL debut if he can't. The Senators are also without defenseman Christian Wolanin. The Senators were already in Edmonton and watched the Oilers claim a 4-3 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs to snap a two-game losing skid. Ottawa, which is in a complete rebuild, has lost seven straight (0-6-1) by a combined 33-12 since opening the season with a home victory over the Maple Leafs. The Senators are coming off a three-game manhandling at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, who combined to beat them by a 16-3 margin in the trio of outings. Consider that Ottawa is 6-22 in their last 28 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
01-31-21 | Islanders v. Flyers OVER 5.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 119 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
Rating: 3 Unit NHL Total of the Day The Over is 4-1-2 in Islanders last 7 games playing on 0 days rest. While the over is 6-2 in Flyers last 8 overall and 6-2 in Flyers last 8 vs. East. In addition, the over is 14-5-1 in the last 20 meetings. |
01-31-21 | Panthers -178 v. Red Wings | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 34 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Panthers have been earning points the hard way. They've gone to overtime in four of their five games but have collected nine points. Quenneville believes the makeshift format due to the pandemic has contributed to that. Teams are facing each other twice in a row. "We're seeing an abnormal number around the league of tie games, whether it's familiarity and back-to-back nights ... teams know how to play against one another," he said. "So there's not that unpredictability sometimes. There's no surprises who you're playing and the matchups, so the games are tight." The Wings will be seeking their first victory in six games on Sunday. They're 0-3-2 after starting the season 2-2. Consider that Florida is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings in Detroit while the favorite is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings. |
