LA Dodgers at San Francisco 10:15 ET

Giants over Dodgers - LA’s Dustin May (5-5, 4.81 ERA) is making his career high 17th start of the season and he has been knocked around a bit of late giving up five homers in his last three outings his previous high was 10 starts five years ago. San Francisco will counter with their best Logan Webb (8-6, 2.62) and he has been stellar pitching to what should be a better record. He has picked up wins in three of his last four starts. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

07-10-25 Diamondbacks -114 v. Padres Top 3-4 Loss -114 12 h 60 m Show

Arizona at San Diego 9:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Padres - This will be game-four of one of those rare occasions when clubs play a scheduled 4-game series and Arizona has won 2-of-3. The Diamondbacks have won five of the last seven meetings including yesterday’s 8-2 victory and will send Eduardo Rodriguez (3-5, 5.78 ERA) to the hill and after five starts where he surrendered just six runs he was blasted for 12 hits and nine runs in 4.1 innings. San Diego will send out Randy Vasquez (3-4, 3.79) and he hasn’t posted a win in his last nine starts going 0-1 with his average start lasting just 4.2 innings. The Padres have alternated losses and wins their last 10 encounters and will see that pattern broken tonight. Take ARIZONA!

07-09-25 Marlins +130 v. Reds Top 2-7 Loss -100 8 h 6 m Show

Miami at Cincinnati 7:10 ET

Marlins over Reds - Cincinnati who has so much ‘flash’ it is difficult to play against them even though they have lost four straight and 6-of-8. Miami meanwhile, is a team that got swept at home in a 3-game set to Colorado and yet  they enter this fray having won 10 straight on the road. The Marlins will start Eury Perez (1-2, 4.50 ERA) who will be making his sixth appearance after missing last season with Tommy John surgery. Reds starter Nick Martinez (6-8, 4.20) is 4-0 with a 1.38 ERA against Miami but will taste defeat today. Take MIAMI!

Tampa Bay at Detroit 6:40 ET

Rays over Tigers - Detroit has the best record in all of baseball and are 23-games above .500 and have a 13.5 game lead in the AL Central over Minnesota. Tampa Bay is eight games over .500 and took 2-of-3 against the Tigers at home. Detroit just swept Cleveland in a 3-game set and return home and are an underdog. Somehow that just doesn’t seem right. SF has won five of six meetings and close the weekend with a win. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

07-05-25 Tigers v. Guardians +122 Top 1-0 Loss -100 9 h 52 m Show

Detroit at Cleveland 7:15 ET

Watchdogs over Tigers- It seems right now that Cleveland who has lost their last eight games is more concerned about who will made the All-star team than they are about winning games. They will start left-hander Logan Allen (5-6, 4.27 ERA) who has dropped his past two outings. Detroit will start Casey Mize (8-2, 2.86) who has already has more wins this season matching his career total. This time around that CLEVELAND!

07-04-25 Tigers v. Guardians +105 Top 2-1 Loss -100 9 h 14 m Show

Detroit at Cleveland 7:10 ET

Watchdogs over Tigers - Cleveland is dropping games in style having lost seven straight games and were shutout four times over this span including a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Chicago Cubs. Tampa Bay at Baltimore 4:05 ET

Orioles over Rays - The Orioles who just two short seasons ago had the best record of all of baseball but, it appears that the window of opportunity for Baltimore has closed. Friday the O’s scored 22 runs after trailing 6-0 and have gained confidence and momentum. usually after a team has an offensive outburst like they had I look to play against them but this was an uplifting win. Take BALTIMORE!

06-27-25 Blue Jays v. Red Sox -114 Top 9-0 Loss -114 9 h 35 m Show

Toronto at Boston 7:10 ET

Red Sox over Blue Jays - Boston just completed a nine-game road trip by losing the final five games getting swept by the Angels. With a day off to regroup Boston will send Brayan Bello (3-2, 3.31 ERA) to the hill. In his last four starts Bello has pitched at least six innings with an EA of 2.49. Toronto is to start Jose Berrios (3-3, 3.51) who is 5-6 3.60 lifetime against the Red Sox, Valdimir Guerrero is questionable because of an injured fingered. Take BOSTON!

Toronto at Cleveland 6:40 ET

Blue Jays over Naps - Cleveland has gotten the best of the series between these two having won the last two meetings this season and are 5-of-6 and 7-of-10 over the Blue Jays. 06-23-25 Rangers v. Orioles -123 Top 0-6 Win 100 9 h 5 m Show

Texas at Baltimore 6:35 ET

Orioles over Rangers - To date these are a pair of the more disappointing clubs if you are willing to wager on them everyday. Texas who two short years ago won the World Series is at a minus $890 while Baltimore is a minus $1,206 at $100 wager per game. It looked like the Orioles were about to make their move winning six of eight and then came the series at Yankee Stadium where they dropped their last two games. The Rangers have been nothing special since their championship run and will use veteran Patrick Corbin (4-6, 3.91 ERA) who’s career record against Baltimore is 1-5 with an ERA of 5.21 in nine appearances. The Orange birds will send out Trevor Rodgers (0-0, 3.12) who is 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA in just 12 innings work. Take BALTIMORE!

Last night San Diego defeated the Royals and snapped their four game winning streak.  The Padres will send out Randy Vasquez (3-4, 3.70) who hasn’t taken a start (15 of them) beyond five innings. Look for the Royals to rebound and get the win. Take KANSAS CITY!

06-21-25 Brewers v. Twins -124 Top 9-0 Loss -124 10 h 45 m Show

Milwaukee at Minnesota 2:10 ET

Twins over Brewers - In five seasons since leaving the Chicago Cubs. the Brewers starting pitcher Jose Quintana (4-2, 3.35 ERA has pitched for six teams and posted just one winning season (3-2 in ‘22 with Cardinals). Jose is 8-8with a 3.96 ERA in 22 appearances. Minnesota is sending Simeon Woods Richardson (2-3, 5.13) had his beat outing of the year last time out shutting out Houston over five innings allowing just one hit. SWR hasn’t won since April 26 and is in a great sot for the Twins. Take MINNESOTA!

06-18-25 Orioles +103 v. Rays Top 8-12 Loss -100 9 h 9 m Show

Baltimore at Tampa Bay 7:35 ET

Orioles over Rays - I love this kind of situation, where a veteran pitcher returns to the ‘Big’s after a poor rehab performance in the minors (Norfolk) where he went 0-3 with a 5:45 ERA. Trevor Rogers (0-0. 0.00 ERA) gets the nod and he has a 3.00 ERA with no decisions against the Rays while Tampa Bay starter Tai Bradley (4-5, 4.35 ERA) is 1-2 with a 6.52 ERA against the Orioles. Take BALTIMORE!

06-17-25 Orioles +107 v. Rays Top 5-1 Win 107 9 h 25 m Show

Orioles over Rays - Tampa Bay has won the past three meetings including a 7-1 victory on Monday and have won their last four and six of the last eight games overall. Yesterday’s loss to the Rays ended Baltimore’s mini 3-game winning streak. Today, the Orioles send Dean Kremer (5-7, 4.99 ERA) to the mound and he is 2-1 with a 2.31 ERA lifetime against the Rays. Zack Littell (6-6, 3.84) gets the nod for the Rays and he is 1-2 with a 2.73 ERA against the O’s. This time it is BALTIMORE!

06-15-25 Padres +117 v. Diamondbacks Top 8-2 Win 117 6 h 36 m Show

San Diego at Arizona  4:10 ET

Padres over Diamondbacks - San Diego’s Nick Pivetta has faced division opponents San Francisco and Los Angeles his last two times out and they knocked him around for five runs each. Now, he’s up against division for Arizona who he hasn’t faced since 2023 with Boston  he has 14 strikeouts in 11.2 innings against them. The D’backs Merrill Kelly (6-2, 3.18) has been as sharp as ever not giving up a run in his last two starts against Seattle and Atlanta going 13 total innings with 15 K’s and just five hits. They both come back to the middle. Take SAN DIEGO!

06-14-25 Guardians v. Mariners -126 Top 3-4 Win 100 12 h 60 m Show

Cleveland at Seattle 9:40 ET

Mariners over Watchdogs - Both of these clubs are hovering around .500 with them being just one-game apart. Although their record are similar the bookies with their lines have Cleveland up about $200 and the Mariners down $225 for the year. Seattle is sliding having lost three straight and eight of nine and will send George Kirby (1-3, 6.53 ERA) up against Tanner Bibee (4-6, 3.81). Both of these throwers have struggled this season to date and look to turn things around right now. Kirby won his last time out after starting the year with three straight losses. Take SEATTLE!

06-11-25 Tigers v. Orioles -114 Top 1-10 Win 100 9 h 6 m Show

Detroit at Baltimore 6:35 ET

Orioles over Tigers - This has got to be my first MLB ‘Don’t Make Sense’ winner of the year. Here we have Detroit 20-games over .500 sending out ace Casey Mize (6-1, 2.91 ERA) to face a struggling Orioles club that is 13-games under .500. The Tigers score more than a run a game more than Baltimore and allow almost TWO runs less each game. The O’s will send Zach Eflin (5-2, 4.47) and he has won his past two starts. take BALTIMORE!

06-09-25 Blue Jays +102 v. Cardinals Top 5-4 Win 102 10 h 48 m Show

Toronto at St. Louis 7:45 ET

Blue Jays over Cardinals - The fact that this encounter is a virtual pick’em has me believing that the visitor has the edge. St. Louis is 22-11 at home while Toronto is 13-17 on the road and that difference is huge. The Blue Jays will start Jose Berrios (2-2, 3.67 ERA) who is 76 innings has surrendered 67 hits with 70 K’s, he is also 3-0 with a 3.16 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 31 innings against the Cardinals. Blue Jays has won the last three meetings. Take TORONTO!

06-08-25 Braves -110 v. Giants Top 3-4 Loss -110 6 h 6 m Show

Atlanta at San Francisco 4:05 ET

Braves over Giants - The Atlanta Braves started the year with seven straight losses and most felt that sooner or later they would get their act together and it took about 55 more game for them to draw even on the season. Then they hit a wall and currently are on a six game slide as they have fallen to a season high nine game under .500. The over achieving Giants just keep hustling and win when they are supposed to and they are nine games over .500. The Braves will send out Spencer Strider (0-4, 5.68 ERA) who because of injury has won a game since his 20-5 season in 2023. He has four starts this year and has taken the loss in all four outings. Yet, he is favored on the road against a better team. This smells. Take ATLANTA!

06-07-25 Red Sox -105 v. Yankees Top 10-7 Win 100 10 h 31 m Show

Boston at New York Yankees 7:35 ET

Red Sox over Yankees - Garrett Crochet (5-4, 1.98 ERA) If you haven’t seen him pitch you could never understand how anyone could that the Red Sox. This Boston team can’t pick itS up or throw it and their bullpen has allowed the most blown saves in baseball. After four years with the White Sox he was set free by Boston who will torture you in their own way. New York took a quick five run lead in the first inning Friday and the Sawx were never in it. Tonight, they know they have a chance with Crochet on the mound as the do score runs and he doesn’t allow many. Take BOSTON!

06-06-25 Braves -130 v. Giants Top 4-5 Loss -130 12 h 43 m Show

Atlanta at San Francisco 0:15 ET

Braves over Giants - Atlanta is expected to back back from a poor performance in 2024 started the season with seven straight losses and fought for eight weeks to raise they record to the breakwater point only to fall back once again. The Braves have lost four straight games and eight of their last 10 including blow a six run ninth inning lead yesterday. In Game 2 of today’s day/Night double-header the Cardinals will send left-hander Matthew Liberator (3-4, 3.08 ERA) to the mound at night and Kansas City will direct lefty Cole Ragans (2-3, 4.53) to the hill. Ragans is off a stint on the IL and will be making his first MLB start since May 16 when these same Cardinals got to him scoring four runs in a 10-3 defeat. Take KANSAS CITY!

06-03-25 Brewers v. Reds -122 Top 2-4 Win 100 9 h 17 m Show

Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 ET

Reds over Brewers - Okay, eight is enough! Milwaukee posted a Money Game winner for us all Monday 3-2 while getting just one hit after the third inning. Get hits at anytime against tonight’s mound opponent as the No.2 overall pick in 2017 Cincinnati’s Hunter Green (4-3, 2’63 ERA) who has surrendered just 39 hits in 55 innings with 66 strikeouts. The Brewers send out Freddy Peralta (5-3, 2.77) who is having his best season ever as he has allowed 50 hits in 65 innings and he is 5-3 with a 3.35 ERA against Cincinnati in 20 appearances. Greene is 1-4 with a 7.45 in six game. This time around it is CINCINNATI!

06-01-25 Red Sox -122 v. Braves Top 3-1 Win 100 4 h 16 m Show

Boston at Atlanta 1:35 ET

Red Sox over Braves - Boston leads the majors in blown saves with 15 and have lost six of there last seven and are 1-4 on this current road trip. Atlanta had that horrible start at  0-7 and have been fighting to reach .500 ever since, but they keep falling back under the breakwater mark and are now still 3-games under. The Braves figure to be better as Ronald Acuna has return to action and that has got to help. The Red Sox will send their prize possession as Garrett Crochet (4-4, 2.04 ERA) and although the Sawx have  lost his last three starts, where his teammates scored just five runs in three games. One of the toughest left-handers to hit, Crochett has surrendered just 56 hits in 75 innings while striking out 90. That’s enough for me…take BOSTON!

05-30-25 Tigers v. Royals +108 Top 7-5 Loss -100 9 h 55 m Show

Detroit at Kansas City 8:10 ET

Royals over Tigers - Kansas City who is expected to be a contender before the season ends has had difficulty scoring runs the season but have their ace Seth Lugo (3-4, 3.02 ERA) returning to the bump after two weeks on the IL. Still, hard to hit Logo has allowed just 47 hits in 57 innings although he has surrendered nine home runs. Detroit will send out Casey Mize (6-1, 2.45) who has his first winning record in his fifth season in the ‘bigs’. Mize has also missed more than two weeks with a hamstring injury. The Tigers had won six straight in the series after taking the first three meetings this season before the Royals broke through with a win in the final meeting. Take KANSAS CITY!

05-29-25 Nationals +109 v. Mariners Top 9-3 Win 109 11 h 1 m Show

Washington at Seattle 9:40 ET

Nationals over Mariners - This match-up is the rubber game of a 3-game set with the Mariners winning the opener 9-1 and Washington coming back with a 9-0 win as a +205 underdog. Today, the Nationals send out their best in MacKenzie Gore (2-5, 3.47 ERA) and his last win came on April 19 against Colorado. The Nats haven’t given him much suppose scoring just six runs in his last five starts, but he is hard to hit! In 62 innings he has surrendered just 57 hits with get this 93 strikeouts. Mac doesn’t walk many but has given up eight home runs. Seattle is starting Emerson Hancock (2-2, 5.95) who has been battered for 53 hits in 389 innings with just 28 strikeouts with right home runs. Huge advantage for the Nationals. Take WASHINGTON!

05-28-25 Reds -110 v. Royals Top 2-3 Loss -110 10 h 37 m Show

Cincinnati at Kansas City 7:40 ET

Reds over Royals - At this point of the season about 1/3 of the way both of these clubs are midland hovering around the .500 mark. Cincinnati will start Hunter Greene (4-2, 2.54 ERA) who has thrown 50 innings this season while surrendering just 32 hits with 63 strikeouts. He will overpower this weak hitting Kansas City club who has scored just 2.75 runs in their last 15 game going 5-11. The Royals will send Noah Cameron (1-1, 0.93) to the mound and he has been outstanding allowing just seven hits in three starts covering 19 innings. He won’t be enough. Take CINCINNATI!

05-27-25 Braves -101 v. Phillies Top 0-2 Loss -101 7 h 0 m Show

Atlanta at Philadelphia 6:4 ET

Braves over Phillies - I have I got a Spencer Strider stat that is quite interesting. He is 8-0 with a 2.06 ERA in nine career starts against Philadelphia but is 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA in all three of his postseason starts. The Phillies will send Ranger Suarez (3-0, 3.70) and he is 2-4 with a 4.08 ERA in 19 appearances against the Braves. Atlanta has dropped four of their last five games but are pleased with return of Ron Acuna who will give them a much needed boost on offense. The Phillies had won nine straight before dropping a 5-4 decision to the A’s on Sunday. Karma has changed. Take ATLANTA!

05-26-25 Reds +110 v. Royals Top 7-4 Win 110 7 h 26 m Show

Cincinnati at Kansas City 4:40 ET

Reds over Royals - An amazing trends surrounds this rivalry as the home team  has lost seven straight meetings dating back to 2021. Kansas city has taken the past three and Cincinnati had won the previous all games were won by the visiting teams. The Reds enter this fray losing 4-of-5 after having won five straight and today the start nick Martinez (2-5, 3.43 ERA who has thrown better that his record shows. The Royals send out 11-year veteran Michael Lorenzen (3-5, 3.77) and he has surrendered nine home runs already this season and the reds love the long ball. Take CINCINNATI!

05-24-25 Dodgers -103 v. Mets Top 2-5 Loss -103 11 h 37 m Show

LA Dodgers at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Dodgers over Mets - The World Champion LA Dodgers don’t seem to mind which team from New York that they are playing. The Dodgers took down the New York Yankees in the Fall Classic four games to one and have the same winning ratio against the Ne York Mets winning eight of the past 10 meetings. Saturday, the champs will send Tony Gonsolin (2-0, 4.05) to the hill and he is 1-0 with an ERA of 0.82 in 11 innings of work has allowed just one run. Mets will start David Peterson (2-2, 2.86) is 1-0 versus LA but with an ERA of 5.74 in 15 innings surrendering 10 earned runs. Take LA DODGERS!

05-23-25 Dodgers -106 v. Mets Top 7-5 Win 100 7 h 26 m Show

LA Dodgers at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Dodgers over Mets - The last time these two met was in the NL Championship series which Los Angeles won the series in six games. New York will send out Griffin Canning (5-1, 2.47 ERA) who will be opposed by veteran Clayton Kershaw (0-0, 11.25) who will be making his second start of the season. New York has gone 2-5 in their last seven games and failed to score more than three runs in any one game and were outscored 26-10. Canning is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA against the Dodgers while Kershaw is 11-0 with a 2.03 ERA lifetime against the Mets. Take the LA DODGERS!

05-21-25 Mets v. Red Sox -139 Top 5-1 Loss -139 9 h 4 m Show

New York Mets at Boston 6:45 ET

Red Sox over Mets - I like everything about this match-up especially whee the game starts on the mound. Last time out for Boston Garrett Crochet had too face Chris Sale the former Red Sox who is now hurling for the former Boston and Milwaukee and now Atlanta Braves. He pitched well for seven innings, but the homecoming of Sale was to much for the Sox, and he is 4-2 with an ERA of 2.00. The Mets will send Tylor Megill (3-4, 3.74) to the bump and he has struggled of late after a decent start and has one win since April 4th. Take BOSTON!

05-19-25 Royals +122 v. Giants Top 3-1 Win 122 12 h 33 m Show

Kansas City at San Francisco 9:46 ET

Royals over Giants - San Francisco has won the past four meetings including a three game sweep last season. The Royals just ended a four game losing streak with a 2-1 win over St. Louis but have scored just nine runs in their last five games. The Giants just completed a 3-game sweep of the A’s and are playing their seventh straight home game. KC who just put a pair of All-star pitchers on the IL and will start Kris Bubic (4-2. 1.66 ERA)who is getting his chance to shine as a starter and is making the best of it. Last year he had 27 appearances and all were in relief. Take KANSAS CITY!

05-18-25 Mariners +128 v. Padres Top 6-1 Win 128 11 h 11 m Show

Seattle at San Diego 4:10 ET

Mariners over Padres - Seattle has won three of their last four including the last two over San Diego and they have beaten the Padres in seven of the past eight meetings. Sometimes it happens that way where one club can’t win against a certain club and likewise some teams just won’t lose to a club the call their cousins. Tonight, the Mariners are sending out a nasty fellow in Byran Woo (4-1, 2.84 ERA) and has allowed just 37 hits in 51.2 innings with only eight walks and 50 strikeouts. Take SEATTLE!

05-17-25 Astros +107 v. Rangers Top 1-5 Loss -100 9 h 31 m Show

Houston at Texas 7:10 ET

Astros over Rangers - It is said that everything is bigger in Texas and maybe in time this rivalry (The Silver Boot) will have the same intensity as old standbys with the Red Sox and Yankees or the Giants and Dodgers. The Astros will send Las Vegan Tyler Mahle (4-1, 1.47 ERA) who has already had a ‘career’ year as he has had just one winning season entering his 10 year in the bigs while going 0-2 with a 3.50 ERA against Houston. The Astros send out Ronel Blanco (3-3, 4.04) and he is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.08 in 26 inning against the Rangers. Take HOUSTON!

05-10-25 Giants v. Twins -110 Top 1-2 Win 100 16 h 49 m Show

San Francisco at Minnesota 7:15 ET

Twins over Giants - San Francisco can surprise in the West, they play hard nosed aggressive baseball, hustle and are always looking to take the extra base. The Giants will start their gem in Logan Webb (4-2, 2.61 ERA) who has never faced  the Twins. Minnesota will start Joe Ryan (2-2, 2.93) and he has allowed one run twice and zero runs twice in his last five starts. He has 47 strikeouts in 40 innings while surrendering just 31 hits but six were homers. So, what! Take MINNESOTA!

05-06-25 Phillies v. Rays +107 Top 8-4 Loss -100 9 h 37 m Show

Philadelphia at Tampa Bay 7:05 ET

Rays over Phillies - These two clubs have met three times in each of the past two seasons and Philadelphia is a perfect 6-0 and have Zack Wheeler (2-1,3.48 ERA) on the mound. Wheeler was the starter the last time these two met last season in mid September and he was the winner allowing just two runs on four hits in just six innings with nine strikeouts. Today’s starter for the Rays Drew Rasmussen (1-2, 2.64) took the loss in relief that day and is 1-2 with a 3.16 ERA this season with the Rays  failing to score even one run in his two losses. This time around the Rays score against Wheeler who is 1-2 with a 4.50 lifetime against the Rays…take TAMPA BAY!

05-05-25 Mets v. Diamondbacks -112 Top 5-4 Loss -112 12 h 39 m Show

NY Mets ar Arizona 9:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Mets - It was just a short week ago the New York Mets had the best record in baseball and were running on all cylinders with an unlikely leader in NL batting average in Pee Alonzo who has yet to hit .250 the past three seasons. But, they have dropped five of their last six games and6-of-10 while three other teams in the NL now have better records. Arizona took 2-of-3 in New York last week and will start Ryan Nelson (1-0, 5.82 ERA) who has no decisions against New York. The Mets lost a double-header to St. Louis Sunday and will continue to slide in the desert. Take ARIZONA!

04-29-25 Giants -119 v. Padres Top 4-7 Loss -119 11 h 29 m Show

San Francisco at San Diego 9:40 ET

Giants over Padres - At first glance my thoughts have me believing that San Diego is in trouble tonight. After a great start the Padres have come back to earth and have now lost four of five and the problem is not their pitching as they allow less than three runs a game, the best in the major leagues. San Francisco behind Logan Webb (3-1, 1.98 ERA) who has 44 strikeouts in 36 innings while allowing just 30 hits and is 4-3 with an ERA of 2.90 lifetime against the Padres. Nick Pivetta (4-1, 1.20) has been outstanding for San Diego and is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA against the Giants and that won’t be enough. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

04-22-25 Yankees v. Guardians +103 Top 2-3 Win 103 7 h 4 m Show

Watchdogs over Yankees - Cleveland who year after year always seems a bit under-rated as usually but are always in the hunt. They have won their last four games including yesterday’s 6-4 Megabucks win over the Yanks and will start Tanner Bibee (1-2, 5.85 ERA). New York who has cooled off after a terrific start are 6-5 on the road and will start Will Warren (1-0, 5.17) who in his last start was removed after 53 pitches in just 1.2 innings. The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame guys ar 6-1 at home and the beat goes on…take CLEVELAND!

04-21-25 Yankees v. Guardians +110 Top 4-6 Win 110 8 h 30 m Show

NY Yankees at Cleveland 6:40 ET

Tribesman over Yankees - The Yankees started the season hot setting a MLB record for home runs and scored 36 runs in their first three games. They recently dropped five of seven but have responded by going 6-1 in their past seven games. Cleveland started the season on the road and won just three of their first nine games outside Ohio but have won nine of their last 12. Cleveland will start Gavin Williams (1-1, 4.58 ERA) and their starters have a 2.77 ERA the past 12 games but the have lost six of the last seven meetings. New York will send Clarke Schmidt (0-0, 4.76) to the hill making his second start of the season. At home take…CLEVELAND!

04-20-25 Padres v. Astros -122 Top 3-2 Loss -122 8 h 41 m Show

San Diego at Houston 7:00 ET

Astros over Padres - Houston’s ace Framber Valdez ((1-2, 4.91 ERA) has been the mark of inconsistency this season pitching shutout innings in two of his starts and getting bombed in his other two starts. This is unlike Framber’s past as his ERA the last four season’s in a combined 3.19. I expect he will return to form starting tonight. San Diego starter Dylan Cease (1-1, 6.64) is having troubles of his own as he is getting knocked around by opponents this season. Take HOUSTON!

04-11-25 Tigers v. Twins -109 Top 7-6 Loss -109 10 h 3 m Show

Detroit at Minnesota 8:10 ET

Twins over Tigers - Detroit who was a surprise playoff team last season are on top of the AL Central after winning five of six on their home stand. Minnesota just finished a four game series in Kansas City and dropped 3-of-4 to the Royals and 4-of-5 overall. The Tigers will start Reese Olson (1-1, 5.06 ERA)  while the Twins will send David Festa out for his first start of the season. Take MINNESOTA!

04-09-25 Twins -106 v. Royals Top 4-0 Win 100 7 h 28 m Show

.

Minnesota at Kansas City 7:35 ET

Twins over Royals - After finishing the 2024 season with four straight wins over the Twins the Royals have posted wins in the first two meetings this season including a 2-1 win Tuesday. Kansas City has won their last three and took 2-of-3 from Baltimore over the weekend. Minnesota has lost their last three and 4-of-5 allowing just under five earned runs a game while scoring less than 3.5 RPG. Seth Lugo has a win in two starts in a pair of Kansas City wins, Minny’s Joe Ryan has had a pair of five inning starts striking out 11 with zero walks with no victories. This time out he gets the win. Take MINNESOTA!

04-08-25 Phillies v. Braves -105 Top 5-7 Win 100 9 h 40 m Show

Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:15 ET

Braves over Phillies - The top two finalist for the 2024 Cy Young will go head-to-head as Chris Sale the current award winner will take the hill for Atlanta (18-3, 2.38 ERA in 2024) while Zack Wheeler (6-7, 2.57) takes the mound for the Phillies. The Braves who had a disappointing season last year, are off to a rocky start to say the least as they have lost their first seven games of the year. Friday they won their first game of the season 10-0 over Miami and then went out and got shutout 4-0 the next day. Philadelphia has won 7-of-9 to date but the Braves were 7-6 against the ‘Wiz-kids’ in 2024 outscoring them 63-40. Take ATLANTA!

04-04-25 Orioles v. Royals -107 Top 2-8 Win 100 9 h 1 m Show

Baltimore at Kansas City 7:40 ET

Royals over Orioles - Seth Jacob Lugo set career high in wins, innings strikeouts and just about everything else for Kansas City last season but it was a long time coming. Many are predicting a regression for Lugo but when I see has MLB number he is one of the better and most consistent pitches that just needed he innings. his ERA per season going back from last season 3.00, 3.57, 3.60, 3.50, 2.70 and 2.66…his ERA was over 3.50 once when he worked just 34 innings when he was disabled when his ERA 5.15. Catch my drift. Dean Kramer is 30-30 lifetime and his ERA has been under 4.10 once and as high as 7.55 and 9.00 this year. Take Bobby ‘Boy’ Witt and KANSAS CITY!

04-01-25 Diamondbacks +100 v. Yankees Top 7-5 Win 100 8 h 3 m Show

Arizona at New York Yankees 7:00 ET

Diamondbacks over Yankees - It is amazing to me that with 27 World Championships and 41 AL Pennants that the New York Yankees have not won their first four games since 1927 and 1968. Those teams had Ruth and many other Yankees Hall of Fame player and were termed the Bronx Bombers which Aaron Judge is the current Bomber. Arizona will start former Cy Young award winner Corbin Burnes who was 15-9 with a 2.92 ERA for Baltimore last season and was 3-0 in the preseason. Will Warren gets the nod for New York and he was 0-3 with a 10.32 ERA in six appearances last season while Burnes threw eight no-hit inning against the the Bombers last season. Take ARIZONA!

03-27-25 Red Sox v. Rangers +106 Top 5-2 Loss -100 5 h 46 m Show

Boston at Texas 4:05 ET

Rangers over Red Sox - This spring, it seems that most of the baseball sharpies in Las Vegas like Boston to capture the AL East ahead of New York and Baltimore. They, like myself don’t believe that Toronto has a shot and will  once again be left out in the clod when it comes October. The Red Sox are considered big off-season winner and one of the reasons in getting Garrett Crochet (6-12 , 3.58 ERA) who had 209 strikeouts in 32 starts from the Whits Sox. This spring he K’d 30 in 15.2 innings and will face former Red Sox Nathan Evovaldi who is making his first career opening Day start. Take TEXAS!

10-18-24 Dodgers v. Mets +125 Top 6-12 Win 125 13 h 33 m Show

LA Dodgers at NY Mets 5:05 ET

Mets over Dodgers- It took until Game 5 with New York trailing 3-1 in the first to 4-win series before David Peterson got his first start in the postseason. Peterson was the Mets most consistent hurler in 21 starts this season with only three losses and an ERA of 2.90. He has been used only in relief in the postseason working just 2.1 innings. If they can, the Mets will go as deep with Peterson as they can, and he is capable, having gone 7.0 against the Brewers and 7.2 against the Phillies in late September starts when the pennant pressure was on. The Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty has one no decision start with an ERA of 6.75 in his one appearance surrendering four runs in 5.1 innings. Take NEW YORK METS!

10-17-24 Yankees v. Guardians +101 Top 5-7 Win 101 20 h 5 m Show

New York Yankees at Cleveland 8:05 ET

Watchdogs over Yankees- After the way this Cleveland played in New York the first two games they looked like they wouldn’t win at Williamsport. Returning home should help and left-hander Matthew Boyd can keep New York’s power players from doing damage. The former tribesman compiled one of the best home records in baseball going 52-31. The Yankees Clarke Schmidt has been a wonderful surprise for New York but since returning from the IL he has surrendered 14 eared runs in his last 23 innings over six starts. take CLEVELAND!

10-16-24 Dodgers v. Mets +100 Top 8-0 Loss -100 10 h 28 m Show

LA Dodgers at NY Mets 8:05 ET

Mets over Dodgers- It doesn’t make sense to play against karma and it appears that the Mets have it. Betting against the team that won the most games in baseball is not something that I look forward to. But with experienced Luis Severino on the hill for New York and with a struggling Walker Buehler pitching for the Dodgers scares me even more. You can see it when they take the field, the Mets just believe that some how, some way that they will end up winning. That is hard to overcome. Take NEW YORK METS!

10-09-24 Phillies -110 v. Mets Top 1-4 Loss -110 16 h 2 m Show

Philadelphia at New York Mets 5:05 ET

Phillies over Mets- The Amazing Mets keep doing it game after game and most are really shocked at this point because they just don’t have the star studded line up like so others that never go anywhere. But, in the playoffs for the most part it is he pitching that take center stag and here’s where Philadelphia has the advantage tonight. Taking the mound for the visitors will be Ranger Suarez (12-8, 3.46 ERA) and he has been the Phillies most consistent hurler this season and New York will send out Jose Quintana (10-10. 3.75) who defeated the Phils three weeks ago allowing only three hits and no runs in seven innings. With their backs to the wall the Phillies respond. Take PHILADELPHIA!

10-08-24 Phillies -108 v. Mets Top 2-7 Loss -108 17 h 0 m Show

Philadelphia at New York Mets 5:05 ET

Phillies over Mets- Although the Mets lost Game 2 to the Phillies they are brimming with confidence as they return home knowing they have gotten the best of  series between these two this season. New York will send left-hander Sean Manaea (12-6, 3.47 ERA) and he’s been their best but he is just 2-2 with a 5.19 ERA in six career games against Philadelphia. Aaron Nola ((14-8, 3.75) gets the nod for the visitor and he is 10-9 with a 3.46 ERA in 28 starts. Phillies get the win. Take PHILADELPHIA!

10-06-24 Padres +145 v. Dodgers Top 10-2 Win 145 19 h 45 m Show

San Diego at L.A Dodgers 8:05 ET

Padres over Dodgers- Sunday night San Diego will have to answer the question, ‘are they manning up’ against their number one nemesis? Is this year’s version of the Padres different than what we have seen the past decade. I do think that they are more mature and have plenty of talent to give the Dodgers a problems. They will have experience on the hill in Yu Darvish and he is 5-5 with an ERA of 2.27 against his former teammates with 104 strikeouts in 91 innings. Take SAN DIEGO!

10-05-24 Padres v. Dodgers -127 Top 5-7 Win 100 21 h 6 m Show

San Diego at Los Angeles Dodgers 8:35 ET

Dodgers over Padres- San Diego finished second to Los Angeles by four games but held the season series advantage winning 8 games to 5. That was the first time the Padres captured the season series from LA since 2010...that’s 14 years (Ha what a knack for math). Anyway, even winning this year’s regular season meetings won’t change the ‘Red-headed step child syndrome’ that San Diego faces from Los Angeles, be it in baseball, football or any other sport except maybe sailing, yeah there is something that an Diego can do better than LA. But not baseball. Take LA DODGERS!

10-02-24 Royals +146 v. Orioles Top 2-1 Win 146 15 h 26 m Show

Kansas City at Baltimore 4:35 ET

Royals over Orioles- The starting pitchers for the AL Wild Card Game 2 for both clubs was not with their of the respective teams last season. Baltimore will start Zach Eflin who was with Tampa Bay until mid-July is 0-1 with an ERA of 5.17 in 11 postseason appearances with the Rays and Phillies. The Royals will send 34-year old veteran Seth Lugo (16-9, 3’00 ERA) to the hill and he is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in three appearances against the Orioles. Take KANSAS CITY!

10-01-24 Mets +129 v. Brewers Top 8-4 Win 129 13 h 58 m Show

New York Mets at Milwaukee 4:10 ET

Mets over Brewers- The New York Mets started the year 0-5 and their counterpart in the Bronx was setting records for quick starts to a season. The Yankees were 51-20 and didn’t play 500 ball the rest of the season while the Mets were putting it together piece by piece. It all started on June 1 and they have had the best record in MLB since. Milwaukee will start Freddy Peralta (11-9, 3.68 ERA) and he is 0-1 in four postseason appearances with an ERA of 3.68 and was tagged with a loss against Arizona last October. The Mets will start veteran right-hander Luis Severino (11-7, 3.91) whose stuff is so nasty at times catchers have difficulty handling his pitches. Take the NEW YORK METS!

09-25-24 Rangers +104 v. A's Top 5-1 Win 104 11 h 8 m Show

Texas at Oakland 9:40 ET

Rangers over A’s- Texas will send out once again Cody Bradford (6-3, 3.59 ERA) against  Oakland ho he mastered on August 31 going seven innings allowing four hits and just two runs. The World Series champs are eight games under .500 and will end up the with one of the more disappointing seasons for defending champions. The A’s have shown great improvement this year and will send out Brady Brasso (1-0, 2.33) a rookie lefty. The Rangers do it right tonight. Take TEXAS!

09-24-24 Cubs -121 v. Phillies Top 10-4 Win 100 10 h 19 m Show

Chicago Cubs at Philadelphia 6:40 ET

Cubs over Phillies- Philadelphia clinched the NL East Monday with their 6-2 victory over the Cubs but still trail the Dodgers by a half-game for the best overall record in the Senior Circuit. Chicago will start Justin Steele (5-5, 3.03 ERA) for his second start since coming off the IL. Reliever Tanner Banks (2-2, 3.78) and he has an ERA of 5.40 in three appearances against the Cubs and should last too long tonight. Take CHICAGO CUBS!

09-20-24 Guardians v. Cardinals -110 Top 5-1 Loss -110 11 h 2 m Show

Cleveland at St. Louis 8:10 ET

Cardinals over Watchdogs- I believe we should follow the same example that happened twice yesterday and this opportunity only comes along a limited number of times at the end of the season. On Wednesday the Yankees and Brewers clinched playoff spots and the following day both clubs lost as their incentive was lacking. Yesterday, Cleveland clinched a playoff spot and I expect them like the others to suffer a letdown of sorts or maybe it’s a champagne hangover. The playoff bound club will start Ben Lively (12-9, 3.87 ERA) who is 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA in three appearances against the Cardinals. St. Louis will start Kyle Gibson (8-7, 4.11) and he’s been at his best of late allowing just two runs in his last 19 innings of work. Take ST. LOUIS!

09-19-24 Diamondbacks -110 v. Brewers Top 5-1 Win 100 10 h 26 m Show

Arizona at Milwaukee 7:15 ET

Diamondbacks over Brewers- With yesterday’s Megabucks win Milwaukee has clinched a playoff spot and should be a bit hung-over after popping a few bottles of champagne. Arizona on the other hand is still fighting for a Wild Card spot and need wins. The D’backs will send Brandon Pfaadt (9-9, 4.81 ERA) to the mound and the Brewers will counter with Tobias Myers (8-5, 3.07) . Pfaadt was bombed five days ago by Milwaukee surrendering eight runs on seven hits in just 1.2 innings for an ERA of 43.20. He atones here. Take ARIZONA!

09-18-24 Phillies v. Brewers -115 Top 1-2 Win 100 9 h 31 m Show

Philadelphia at Milwaukee 7:40 ET

Brewers over Phillies- Milwaukee may have lost to the Phillies last night but their ‘magic’ number to clinch is now just one. Philadelphia will send Aaron Nola (12-8, 3.62 ERA) to the hill and he is 7-2,with a 2.76 ERA lifetime against Milwaukee. The Brewers will send Freddy Peralta (11-8, 3.75 ERA) out against the Phillies and he is 0-2 with an ERA of 4.01 against the Whiz Kids. But he has allowed just 139 hits in 163 innings with 184 strikeouts but has surrendered 25 homers. Brewers wrap it up tonight. Take MILWAUKEE!

09-17-24 Giants -108 v. Orioles Top 10-0 Win 100 10 h 27 m Show

San Francisco at Baltimore 6:40 ET

Giants over Orioles- Now let me fully understand what is going on here. The Giants are six games under .500 and are on the road and Baltimore is at home and 18 games over .500. So, how in this world is San Francisco favored when they have already been eliminated from post season play and the Orioles are in a dog fight for the top spot in the AL East. The main reason is Blake Snell (3-3, 3.52 ERA) who has given up 11 runs in his last ten starts after an awful start and is 3-2 4.35 ERA against the O’s. Baltimore will start Albert Suraez (7-5, 3.49) who has surrendered 23 runs in his last 42 innings. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

09-16-24 Dodgers -107 v. Braves Top 9-0 Win 100 9 h 53 m Show

LA Dodgers at Atlanta 7:20 ET

Dodgers over Braves- The Dodgers trailed late yesterday to the Braves and were about the lose their third straight until the tied it at 2-2 and then exploded for nine runs in the ninth inning. Tonight, Yoshinobu Yamamoto (6-2, 2.92 ERA) will get the nod for he ‘Bums’ and in limited action 74 innings he has surrendered just 62 hits with 84 strikeouts. Atlanta will send out Max Fried (9-9, 3.46) and he is 3-3 with an ERA of 3.02 and received one of those losses this season. Take the DODGERS!

09-14-24 Dodgers v. Braves -118 Top 1-10 Win 100 12 h 34 m Show

LA Dodgers at Atlanta 7:20 ET

Braves over Dodgers- At the season’s onset these were the two clubs that I expected to battle for the NL pennant and I still believe that these will be the last two standing when the playoffs begin. Atlanta has had a year beset with injuries but the healthy return of Chris Sale (16-3, 2.38 ERA) is keeping the Braves alive. Since June 1 Sale has made 17 starts and has not allowed more than two runs in any start. He has allowed two runs seven times, one run six times and shutout the opposition five times. In 88 innings he has surrendered just 71 hits and has 131 strikeouts. Enough said! Take ATLANTA!

09-13-24 Padres v. Giants +101 Top 5-0 Loss -100 12 h 25 m Show

San Diego at San Francisco 10:15 ET

Giants over Padres- San Diego is just a half-game behind Arizona for the top Wild Card berth and will send Dylan Cease (12-11, 3.71 ERA) to the bump against the Giants who will start Logan Webb (12-9, 3.46). These two hurlers faced each other last Saturday and San Francisco prevailed for the third time this season against Cease who is 2-2 with an ERA of 3.38 in five starts against the Jints. Logan is 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA in 12 starts against the Padres and gets the win again. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

09-11-24 Orioles v. Red Sox -118 Top 3-5 Win 100 11 h 22 m Show

Baltimore at Boston 7:10 ET

Red Sox over Orioles- These two clubs have met five times in the last three weeks and Boston despite Tuesday’s 5-3 loss has won three of the five meetings. The Orioles have dropped three of the past four and four of the last six as the trail the Yankees by a half game in the loss column. Baltimore will start Dean Kremer (7-9, 4.27 ERA) who has struggled against the Red Sox owning a 2-4 record with an ERA of 6.45 ERA while Boston’s Nick Pivetta is 8-3 with an ERA of 3.33. To me once again it is BOSTON!

09-10-24 Orioles v. Red Sox -112 Top 5-3 Loss -112 10 h 52 m Show

Baltimore at Boston 7:10 ET

Red Sox over Orioles- It does not seem feasible that Boston will make the AL playoffs but they have won three of its past four games and have moved to within three games of the Twins and the final Wild Card spot. Baltimore has lost four of five scoring just seven runs in those five games. The Orioles are 24-25 since the All-star game and will send Albert Suarez (7-5, 3.49 ERA) and he is 1-0 with a 4.11 ERA in three appearances. Kutter Crawford (8-13, 4.08) gets the nod for the Sox and he is has lost his last four starts and he is 0-3 in six games with a 6.58 ERA. So, why i he favored. Take BOSTON!

09-09-24 Orioles v. Red Sox -115 Top 3-12 Win 100 12 h 48 m Show

Baltimore at Boston 7:15 ET

Red Sox over Orioles- Last season Baltimore was a power packed hitting team and were the highest scoring club in baseball but, this year their bats have at time been quiet. This weekend the O’s hit .163 against Tampa Bay and they are 24-24 since the All-star break. Boston will start Brayan Bello (12-7, 4.75 ERA) who the Red Sox have supported offensively averaging six runs when he starts and he is 3-2 with a 3.71 ERA in five career starts against the Orioles. Cade Povich (2-7, 5.76) is off him best career start against the WhiteSox but these guys in Red are better. Take BOSTON!

09-05-24 Diamondbacks v. Giants -140 Top 2-3 Win 100 5 h 60 m Show

Arizona at San Francisco 3:45 ET

Giants over Diamondbacks- I realize how hot the D’backs are right now and I do expect them to make it into the MLB playoffs but today they are facing a Cy Young Award winner that has turned his season around. San Francisco’s Blake Snell (2-3, 3.56 ERA) had a 1.64 ERA in August with 53 strikeouts in 38 innings throwing a no-hitter on August 2. He is 5-2 with a 1.86 ERA in nine appearances against Arizona. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

The Division leading  Brewers will send Colin Rea (12-4, 3.70) to the mound and he is 1-3 against St. Louis lifetime with and ERA of 4.35 including five shutout 3-hit ball this season. Rea has been knocked around in three of his last four starts with seven shutout innings against Cleveland mixed in. The Brewers won the first three meetings this season but the Red Birds have captured three of the last four meetings. Take ST, LOUIS!

Philadelphia at Toronto 7:10 ET

Blue Jays over Phillies- Philadelphia rookie right-hander Tyler Phillips (4-1, 5.50 ERA) is getting his seventh start of the year after a recall from the minors. The Phillies have a seven game lead in the NL East while the also-ran Blue Jays are five-games under .500. Veteran Chris Bassett (9-13, 4,27) get the nod for Toronto and he is 4-0 with a 1.86 ERA if five starts against the Phillies. Take TORONTO!

09-02-24 Guardians +100 v. Royals Top 4-2 Win 100 5 h 59 m Show

Cleveland at Kansas City 4:10 ET

Watchdogs over Royals- Kansas City who was tied for the division lead a week ago has lost five straight games since reaching the top spot of the AL Central and will send out veteran Michael Wacha (11-6, 3.50) to the hill. He is 8-0 in his last 10 starts and is 4-2 with a 3.14 ERA in 11 appearances against the former Tribe. Cleveland’s Gavin Williams (2-6, 5,13 ERA) has lost his last three starts and six of his last eight decisions although is 0-5 with a 7.54 ERA at home but on the road he is 2-2 with an ERA of 3.13 allowing only one run or less in four of those five road starts. The price seem a bit shallow. Take CLEVELAND!

We have posted the Dodgers the last two night winning both games as they were the favorites and today it is Arizona that is favored and it is their turn. Take ARIZONA!

San Diego at Tampa Bay 6:50 ET

Rays over Padres- Tampa Bay has lost five of their last seven games coming off a 10-game road trip and will send Tai Bradley (6-8, 3.77 ERA) to the hill. Bradley has lost four straight decisions and was racked by the Dodgers last time out. San Diego will start Martin Perez (3-5, 4.60) is making his third start for the Padres since being acquired from the Pirates. He is 4-7 with a 5.98 ERA against the Rays in 19 appearances. New York Mets at Arizona 9:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Mets- New York who has had their share of heartbreaking losses bounced back from a devastating loss on Sunday when their questionable bullpen blew a late inning lead against San Diego. Luis Severino (9-6, 3.84 ERA) gets the nod for the Mets and he has been at his best of last winning his past two starts including a complete game shutout the first for the Mutts in four years. The Diamondbacks have won 24 of their last 31 games and will start lefty Eduardo Rodriguez (2-0, 3.94) and he is 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA against New York in two starts. In Severino’s only start  against the D’backs he surrendered five runs in 5.1 innings. Take ARIZONA!

08-27-24 Giants +102 v. Brewers Top 5-4 Win 102 8 h 47 m Show

San Francisco at Milwaukee 8:10 ET

Giants over Brewers- San Francisco has won half of their games to date and that is exactly what was expected of them. Tonight, will they send Logan Webb (11-8, 3.13 ERA) to the mound and he is 3-0 in his last four starts allowing only three runs in 30.1 innings while surrendering just 18 hits. Milwaukee will counter with rookie Tobias Myers (6-5, 2.81) and he is 0-2 with an ERA of 3.90 in his last six starts. Webb is 2-0 with a 1.73 ERA in four appearances against the Brewers striking out 11 in just seven innings. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

08-26-24 Rays +120 v. Mariners Top 1-5 Loss -100 10 h 20 m Show

Tampa Bay at Seattle 9:40 ET

Rays over Mariners- The Seattle Mariners have one of the better starting rotations in MLB and yet they can not establish themselves as legitimate contenders. At just one-game over .500 they are down $1032 on the season as the book-makers have faith in this club that just struggles to score runs. Currently, they have won 2-of-3 but they had dropped eight of their previous nine and lost six consecutive games while scoring just nine runs in six games. Tampa Bay has virtually the same record but are dead even with the bookmakers as little is expected of them. Bryce Miller (9-7, 3.32 ERA) starts for the Mariners and he is 0-1 with a 7.56 against the Rays while Ryan Pepiot (7-5, 3.65) has no decisions against Seattle but hurled 5.1 innings against them in June allowing just one hit and one run for an ERA of 1.69. Take TAMPA BAY!

08-25-24 Mets +112 v. Padres Top 2-3 Loss -100 6 h 45 m Show

New York Mets at San Diego 4:10 ET

Mets over Padres- The Mets are making the most unlikely push toward the playoffs and if they do get there New Yorker’s are claiming that Francisco Lindor should receive consideration for the NL MVP. They are forgetting just one thing and that is simply Shohei Ohtani! But, the point is that they are actually making that Wild Card run and they need Jose Quintana (6-8, 4.26 ERA) to reverse his current trend. He was lost his last three starts allowing 18 runs in just 15 innings of work and maybe paying the Padres is the answer as he is 3-0 lifetime against San Diego. The Padres will start Martin Perez (2-5, 5.20) and he just doesn’t cut it. Take the METS!

08-24-24 Diamondbacks +106 v. Red Sox Top 4-1 Win 106 5 h 25 m Show

Arizona at Boston 4:10 ET

Diamondbacks over Red Sox- Arizona Zac Gallen (9-6, 3.85 ERA) Boy, I just love watching this Arizona club play baseball. They in a way remind me of the former Tampa Bay Devil Rays who were going to fight you down to the last strike. At the plate they are patient and hitting line drives creating base runners and they run the bases very well and they are aggressive. Anyway, I like what I see, they hustle and want to prove that 2023 was no fluke.

For Boston his counterpart is Kutter Crawford (8-10. 4.21) who since we used him against the Yankees on an ESPN win he has been knocked around to the tune of giving up 29 runs in six starts in just 28 innings. Take ARIZONA!

08-24-24 Astros -114 v. Orioles Top 2-3 Loss -114 5 h 21 m Show

Houston at Baltimore 4:05 ET

Astros over Orioles- Houston’s Framber Valdez (13-5, 3.20 ERA) is as hot as a pitcher can be. In his last three starts covering 21.1 innings he has allowed only seven hits having gone 8.2 of no-nit ball against Texas two weeks ago. Baltimore will start Albert Suarez (6-4, 3.18) who has had three start shutout starts covering 18 innings surrendering just 13 hits with 17 K’s. The fact that the Astros are favored at Baltimore tell me the bookies believe they are the side. Take HOUSTON!

08-23-24 Rangers v. Guardians -127 Top 5-3 Loss -127 9 h 10 m Show

.

Texas at Cleveland 7:10 ET
Ohioans over Rangers- The Cleveland ball club leads their division but if they do not start to score some runs soon they may be passed by either the Twins or Royals. This is a big series for them as the return home 1-5 after their trip to Milwaukee and to Yankee Stadium. Two huge factors have me supporting them here and that is they are 38-20 at home while Texas who has taken the year off after catching lighting in a bottle last year is 25-38 on the road. Tanner Bibee (10-5, 3.33 ERA) gets the nod for the Erie Lake Boys and he has been their best all year. The lost Rangers will try and match to Watchdogs with veteran Nathan Eovaldi (8-7, 3.76) who has been the pro that he is but the pressure on pitching for a team with no spirit is dis-hearting and he has started to regress a bit dropping his last three starts while surrendering 12 runs and 19 hits in his last 15 innings. Take CLEVELAND!

08-22-24 Phillies +101 v. Braves Top 2-3 Loss -100 9 h 23 m Show

Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:05 ET

Phillies over Braves- I sure hope that I don’t get caught in what I call the ‘switches’ where I used Philadelphia in the opener of this series when the lost and passed yesterday (used a winner with St. Louis) and they won and I am looking to jump back in with them again here. The timing may not seem like the best way to approach a game but I believe it is the winner here. Atlanta will be starting rookie Spencer Schwellenbach (4-6, 4.04 ERA) who has surrendered 10 homers but has 85 strikeouts in 75 innings. He picked up a 5-1 win over the Phillies early July allowing just one run on seven hits in six innings. Philly should be starting Cristopher Sanchez (9-8, 3.46) who just finished a nine inning two-hit 5-1 win over Washington last timeout but he is 0-2 with 4.73 ERA with both losses coming last year. ‘It’s a new dawn darling’ (a little Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Co.) and the Phillies get it done. Take PHILADELPHIA!

08-21-24 Brewers v. Cardinals -104 Top 6-10 Win 100 9 h 12 m Show

Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:45 ET

Cardinals ver Brewers- The Milwaukee Brewers have dominated the St. Louis Cardinals this season, winning seven of eight meetings. Milwaukee extended its winning streak to six games with good situational hitting and just enough pitching Tuesday. The Brewers will turn to right-hander Tobias Myers (6-5, 2.81 ERA) on Wednesday. Meyers has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his past six starts. The Cardinals have lost seven of their past eight games. St. Louis will turn to right-hander Kyle Gibson (7-5, 4.26) on Wednesday. In two starts against the Brewers this season, Gibson is 0-0 with a 2.45 ERA. He allowed just three runs on six hits in 11 innings in those starts, but he walked eight batters while striking out 10. Take ST. LOUIS!

08-20-24 Orioles v. Mets -112 Top 9-5 Loss -112 7 h 16 m Show

Baltimore at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Mets ove Orioles- Baltimore is in New York and not playing the same hype that they have when playing the Yankees, that makes them like hanging fruit to the other New York club. TheOrioles Dean Kremer (4-9, 4.48 ERA)  has struggled this season giving up 15 HR’s in just 90 innings. The Mets Jose Quintana (6-8, 4.26) has had two straight poor outings while  surrendering nine earned runs in those two starts. He is 2-5, 3.66 versus Baltimore but like the 1969 World Series the numbers that the Orioles present to the Mets won’t matter. Take NEW YORK METS!

08-19-24 Orioles v. Mets -131 Top 3-4 Win 100 9 h 40 m Show

Baltimore at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Mets over Orioles- If you are paying any attention to the media it appears that they have the Mets locked into the MLB playoffs. The problem with that right now is that New York is two-games behind Atlanta for the final NL playoff spot. Tonight, they host Baltimore who is batting the other New York club for the top spot in the AL. The Orioles will send lefty Trevor Rodgers (2-11, 4.89 ERA) who is 0-2 with a 7.34 ERA as an O’s starter and is 2-3 with a 3.35 ERA against the Mets. New York will throw their own left-hander in David Peterson (7-1, 3.04) who is 1-1 with a 3.72 ERA in three appearances against the Orange Birds. Baltimore is tied with the Yankees for the top spot on the AL but now face a tough run in their schedule. Take NEW YORK METS!

08-18-24 Yankees v. Tigers -117 Top 2-3 Win 100 9 h 5 m Show

New York Yankees vs Detroit 7:00 ET

Tigers over Yankees- With this game being played in Williamsport, PA somebody may end up looking like little leaguers if they don’t start playing a more fundamental game of baseball. Mental errors have plagued New York who has a 1-2 punch with Judge and Soto that can not be matched by any other team in MLB. Not since Mantle and Maris have the Yankees had this kind of power and average in the lineup but the rest of their order and defense has too many holes. Tonight they will send Marcus Stroman (8-6, 4.01 ERA) who after a quick start to the season has reverted back to previous his form of inconsistency. The Tigers will send Tarik Skubal (14-4, 2.53) to the mound and he is off back-to-back wins over Seattle and is 6-1 in his last 10 starts. Take DETROIT!

08-16-24 Royals v. Reds -128 Top 7-1 Loss -128 7 h 40 m Show

Kansas City at Cincinnati 6:40 ET

Reds over Royals- Cincinnati’s Nick Martinez (6-5, 3.16 ERA) has spent the better part of his last 11 pro seasons at the Big League level and has been quite to journeyman as a semi starter and for the most part long man in the pen. 17 innings against Royals with a 2.08 ERA. Kansas City’s Michael Lorenzen (5-6, 3.81) has had a 10 year career path very similar to Martinez for one no-hit flash in the pan on his resume. Six innings six, hits five earned runs in his one appearance against the Reds. In and unbelievable stat has no had a win since June 11 and this club has lost 15 of the last 18 games that he has appeared in. That’s enough for me. Take CINCINNATI!

08-14-24 Blue Jays v. Angels -106 Top 9-2 Loss -106 9 h 1 m Show

Toronto at LA Angels 9:40 ET

Angels over Blue Jays- Both of these clubs are out of the pennant race and are dreaming of hitting the links instead of baseballs but, as my friend Lee would say ‘there’s got to be a winner somewhere.’ With et debut of Billy Wagner who went 3-for-4 Toronto now has four players who fathers played MLB. The Blue Jays will start Jose Berrios (10-9, 3.97 ERA) who is coming off his best start of the season but has struggled against the Angels going 2-5 with a 6.31 ERA in nine career starts. Lefty Tyler Anderson (9-10, 2.99) gets the nod for Los Angeles and tonight he reaches double-digit in wins. Take LA ANGELS!

08-13-24 Royals +116 v. Twins Top 3-13 Loss -100 8 h 14 m Show

Kansas City at Minnesota 7:40 ET

Royals over Twins- Monday Minnesota was such a heavy favorite that I could only use it as a Free play as I just can’t or rarely allow myself over a dollar-fifty. That happens for the most part during the playoffs and we have done well when having to lay the price. Here, the struggling Royals come up the favorite behind their acquired ace Seth Lugo (13-6, 2.72 ERA) who has finally reached All-star status in his ninth season. This is his first double-digit win season of his career. It should be Joe Ryan or a rookie starter for the Twins as he was removed in the third inning last time out with leg cramps so his status is not certain. But, it is of no matter as tonight is scheduled for Royalty. Take KANSAS CITY!

08-12-24 Cubs -115 v. Guardians Top 8-9 Loss -115 9 h 30 m Show

Chicago Cubs at Cleveland 6:40 ET

Cubs over Ohioans- Cleveland leads the Central Division and is 20-games over .500 yet they are a home underdog to the visiting Chicago Cubs who are under .500 just 27-33 on the road. It isn’t like the Eerie Boys are starting some stiff as it is Ben Lively (10-7 3.59 ERA) taking the hill for the home club. Chicago will start their their 30 year old rookie asian import Shota Imanaga (9-2, 3.06) and he must be the key factor as to why the Cubs are favored. Another ‘Don’t Make Sense’ winner...take the CUBS!

08-11-24 Phillies v. Diamondbacks +115 Top 5-12 Win 115 7 h 56 m Show

Philadelphia at Arizona 4:10 ET

Diamondbacks over Phillies- And hopefully ‘the beat oes on...The Phillies are going through one o those phases that hit the Yankees and is something that is hard to get out of. They need a slump buster and Cristopher Sanchez (8-7, 3.27 ERA) is not it. Arizona’s Merrill Kelly (2-0, 2.19 ) 1-1, 2.75 ERA against Phillie including a 5-1 playoff win last October and is more than capable and the Diamondbacks are out to shown that 2023 wasn’t a fluke. The have been one of the better teams for six weeks now. Take ARIZONA!

08-10-24 Phillies v. Diamondbacks -110 Top 1-11 Win 100 17 h 28 m Show

Philadelphia at Arizona 8:10 ET

Diamondbacks over Phillies- This Philadelphia team like all others in MLB experience periods when they just are not in sync and right now that’s where they are right now. They broke a six game losing streak but have not turned it around as of yet. Tonight they start workhorse Aaron Nola (11-5, 3.54 ERA) and he has been spotty of late at best. Against Arizona he is 2-2 with and ERA of 7.67 in five appearances. The Diamondbacks with go with their best in Zac Gallen (9-5, 3.75) and he is 3-1 in five appearances against the Phillies with an ERA of 2.22. Take ARIZONA!

08-09-24 Astros v. Red Sox -125 Top 8-4 Loss -125 8 h 12 m Show

Houston at Boston 7:20 ET

Red Sox over Astros- If you are a ‘totals’ person you should have had a windfall playing the ‘over’ with the Red Sox. Since the All-star game Boston has averaged 6.5 runs per game and their pitching has been the worst (aside from the White Sox) over that span allowing 5.96 runs a game. Needing a strong mound appearance the Sawx have turned to All-star Tanner Houck (8-8, 3.09 ERA) who is 0-2 in four starts since the break. Houston will start Ronel Blanco (9-6, 2.98) who has lost three of his last four starts. The Astros are struggling to score runs totaling just 11 runs in their last five games. Take BOSTON!

08-08-24 Orioles v. Blue Jays +101 Top 6-7 Win 101 8 h 51 m Show

Baltimore at Toronto 7:07 ET

Blue Jays over Orioles- Baltimore is in a dead heat with the New York Yankees with the best record in the American League a half game ahead of Cleveland. Tonight they will send Dean Kremer (4-8, 4.39 ERA) to the hill and he is 3-3 with a 4.35 ERA lifetime with a pair of those wins coming last season while surrendering 18 home runs. Toronto will start Kevin Gausman (7-8, 4.56 ERA) who is 1-4 with a 5.35 ERA against the Orioles losing to them on June 3 when he gave up six runs on six hits in six innings. The Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero is on a 19-game hitting streak and will be the difference. Take TORONTO!

08-07-24 Tigers +125 v. Mariners Top 6-2 Win 125 10 h 3 m Show

Detroit at Seattle 9:40 ET

Tigers over Mariners- Winning the ‘Triple Crown’ is one of the biggest accomplishments in baseball but almost everyone first thinks of home runs, batting average and RBI’s but there is also a Triple Crown for pitchers who lead in wins, ERA and strikeouts. Detroit All-star Tarik Skubal (12-4, 2.57 ERA) will start tonight’s contest and he enters with the lead in ERA, is tied with strikeouts and one behind the win leaders. George Kirby (8-7, 3.04) is 1-2 with a 6.43 against the Tigers and falls short once again tonight. Take DETROIT!

08-05-24 Diamondbacks -117 v. Guardians Top 7-6 Win 100 8 h 23 m Show

Arizona at Cleveland 6:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Watchdogs- What is going on with the Erie Lake boys? Either there is a typo with this line having Arizona on the road a Division leader Cleveland and they have been installed as a favorite with the opening line and they haven’t even announced a starter. So, what do ou think that means...I take a look at the Ohioans starter and clearly see by the home team are not expected to in according to those booking the action. Zac Gallen (9-5, 3.56 ERA) is 2-0 with a 2.84 in two career starts against former Tribesman. Logan Allen (8-4, 5.67) Allen must be using mirrors to have won that many games with his ERA where it is. Take ARIZONA!

08-03-24 Diamondbacks +106 v. Pirates Top 2-4 Loss -100 9 h 15 m Show

Arizona at Pittsburgh 6:40 ET

Diamondbacks  over Pirates-

The Diamondbacks have won 7 of the last 10 meetings between these two including yesterday’s come from ahead late inning 9-8 win where they blew a 5-0 first inning lead. Arizona’s  Jordan Montgomery (7-5, 6.51 ERA) gets the start and he has been knocked around like an Italian female boxer in the Olympics. Still, he is very capable and knows how to win. Mitch Keller (10-5, 3.30) has improved his ERA by nerl a full run this season and last year he was Pittsburgh’s win leader.  1-0 2.49 in four appearances including a star a week ago where he gave just just two hits and two runs in seven innings with no decision overall he has worked 25.1 innings against the D’backs allowing only 11 hits. Although the Pirates are brimming with confidence the Snakes are beginning to resemble last year’s club. Take ARIZONA!

08-02-24 Mets v. Angels +122 Top 5-1 Loss -100 12 h 10 m Show

New York Mets at L.A. Angels 10:10 ET

Angels over Mets- The good news for Los Angeles is that they know the status of crumbling aging superstar Mickey Trout who is once again down for the count. His sojourn on the IL started when it was still the DL and time has been given to player development for LA. Angels All-star Tyler Anderson (8-9 2.96 ERA) of Las Vegas fame has been outstanding with just crumbs to show for his efforts. In 131 innings he has surrendered just 100 hits. New York will start Paul Blackburn (4-2, 4.41) and the Mets are expecting great things from the newcomer and can only be disappointed after the way the media is fawning over him (you’d think he is related to Kamala). Take LA ANGELS!
