11-12-16 | Nets +4.5 v. Suns | 122-104 | Win | 102 | 10 h 12 m | Show
Brooklyn at Phoenix 9:00 ET Nets (+) over Suns- Phoenix finds themselves in the rare position as a favorite after they defeated the Piston 107-100 on Wednesday while Brooklyn started their five-game road trip with a loss in New York to the Knicks 110-96. Brooklyn has had difficulties scoring baskets but that should be relieved somewhere here as the Suns are ranked 29th in points allowed an average of 113 per contests. Despite their loss to the Knicks the Nets are 6-2 ATS and they are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings with the Suns including two outright wins last season. Take BROOKLYN! |
11-12-16 | Clippers v. Wolves +4 | Top | 119-105 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at Minnesota 8:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Clippers- The L.A. Clippers are off to the best start in franchise history having won eight of their first nine to open the season and are coming off a hard fought 110-108 victory at Oklahoma City last night. They also have had their way against the Timberwolves winning 15 of the last 16 meetings straight-up and going 12-2 ATS in their last 14 in Minnesota. The Wolves did just record their first road win of the start as they start a four-game home stand. Under new coach Tom Thibodeau to guild their young talent with Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Zack LaVine the T'wolves are growing fast. This time around the home team gets the money. Take MINNESOTA! |
11-11-16 | Kings +7 v. Blazers | 120-122 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show
Sacramento at Portland 10:00 ET Kings (+) over Trailblazers- Most of the time when a club loses by 30 points or more (111-80) like Portland did against the Clippers on Wednesday I look to play on them their next time out. But, their opponent the Sacramento Kings were blown out by 20-points in the second half of their last game in a home loss to the Lakers. Portland swept the series last season winning all for meetings and have won the past six encounters. DeMarcus Cousins has scored 20 or more points in eight games and feels the Kings went 'soft' in their second half collapse. Take SACRAMENTO! |
11-10-16 | Bulls v. Heat -2 | 98-95 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 24 m | Show
Chicago at Miami 8:00 ET Heat over Bulls- Tonight marks the return to Miami of three-time NBA Heat Champion Dwyane Wade who makes his first visit since signing with the Bulls in the odd season. Both clubs enter this fray having lost four of their last five. The Heat won all four meetings last season including two win at home by 22 and eight points. Even though Miami's offense has struggled at time they have a center piece that is a force difficult to deal with in Hassan Whiteside who leads the Heat in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. TAKE MIAMI! |
11-09-16 | Nets v. Knicks -8 | Top | 96-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
Brooklyn at New York 7:00 ET Knicks (-) over Nets- So the 2-4 New York Knicks are a huge favorite against a team (Brooklyn) that has a better record and no team discord. New York has been blown out three of their four home games at Madison Square Garden as the Jeff Hornacek's version off the 'Triangle' has not been effective. The series has been played to a virtual tie as the Knicks lead the series 92-91. With the addition of Derrick Rose, Jokin Noah to go along with Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis the Knicks have more fire-power. Take NEW YORK! |
11-08-16 | Mavs +5 v. Lakers | 109-97 | Win | 100 | 13 h 34 m | Show
Dallas at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Lakers- The Los Angeles Lakers have won three straight and are above .500 for the first time since December 2013 while Dallas managed their first win of the season on Sunday over Milwaukee and now stand 1-5 on the campaign. The Mavericks who has dominated the Lakers in recent season have won 10 straight in the series and held the Lakers to just 88.3 points while sweeping three games last year. Defense was the key to the Mav's only win as they held the Bucks to 75 points in their overtime win. Take DALLAS! |
11-07-16 | Heat +5.5 v. Thunder | 85-97 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Miami at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Thunder- Both the Heat and Thunder have something missing this year and it is a pair of 'superstars' that are missing. Oklahoma City of course is without Kevin Durant and Miami is without Dewayne Wade. Oddly enough both clubs have players remaining that put up multiple triple-double performances. The Thunder of course have Russell Westbrook a triple-double machine while the Heat have Hassan Whiteside whose triple-doubles include blocked shots. Miami has dropped three of their last four while OKC just rebounded from their first loss at Golden State with a 112-92 win over Minnesota. This time it's Miami that bounces back. Take the HEAT! |
11-05-16 | Clippers +4.5 v. Spurs | Top | 116-92 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at San Antonio 8:30 ET Clippers (+) over Spurs- San Antonio is play the second of back-to-back contest with the first one being played in Utah last night. Los Angeles also had a game last night a 99-88 win at Memphis. It is being such a shot hope from Tennessee to Texas the Clippers wont have any travel lag. San Antonio who lost only one home game all of last season is such a meager favorite here it gives thought that the Clippers could win here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
11-05-16 | Kings +1.5 v. Bucks | 91-117 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 10 m | Show
Sacramento at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Kings (+) over Bucks- Sacramento has already dropped the first three games on their five-game road trip as they are playing their sixth game in nine days this early in the season. Milwaukee has put together a pair of wins as the 'Greek Freak' has averaged 24 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists, but he will be up against DeMarcus Cousins. Even without Darren Collison serving an eight-game suspension Sacramento is ready to win here. Take the KINGS! |
11-05-16 | Wolves +6 v. Thunder | 92-112 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Minnesota at Oklahoma City 6:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Thunder- The Timberwolves have been a disappointment so far as 'new' coach Tom Thibodeau goes with four starters age 22 or younger with Kris Dunn playing the point. Oklahoma City surprised most when they jumped out and won their first four games until visiting Golden State on Thursday a 122-96 blowout loss. Russell Westbrook averaged 37.8 points for the first four games but slumped badly shooting just 4-of-15 after missing 27 shots the game before. Minnesota posted a 36-point win over Memphis om Tuesday and proved they are capable. Take the TIMBERWOLVES! |
11-04-16 | Spurs v. Jazz +5 | 100-86 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 51 m | Show
San Antonio at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Spurs- Now, this is a tricky one. The Spurs who lost one home game the entire 2015-16 season (even better then the record setting Warriors) have already received their first home defeat of the season and it was inflicted by Utah on Tuesday. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich was upset with his teams effort ending a 10 game winning streak against Utah. Now, most would expect the Spurs to garner a measure of revenge here but the odds makers are giving the Jazz a chance once again with this extremely low line. Tony Parker will be out for this game and the Jazz once again take advantage. Take UTAH! |
11-04-16 | Blazers v. Mavs +3 | 105-95 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 25 m | Show
Portland at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Trailblazers- The Mavericks have yet to win a game on Dirk Nowitzki's farewell tour and new accusations Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut haven't helped much. Nowitzki is back from a two-game absence due to Achilles tendon issue. The Mavericks have won four of the last six meetings and the entire squad is chomping to post their first win of the season. Portland has dropped their last two as they blew a seven-point lead late in the fourth quarter at Phoenix on Wednesday. I expect Dallas to come up big here. Take the MAVERICKS! |
11-04-16 | Knicks +7.5 v. Bulls | Top | 117-104 | Win | 100 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
New York Knicks at Chicago 8:00 ET Knicks (+) over Bulls- The city of Chicago still has a hangover from the Cubs World Series win and even the Bulls have been affected. Their will be a championship parade today to celebrate the end of the 108 year 'curse' and the Bulls can't help but get caught up in it. New York may have a 'new' look this season with the addition of former Bulls Derek Rose and Joakim Noah along with coach Jeff Hornacek but the look the same on the court. The Knicks are struggling on defense and that just takes more effort according to coach Hornacek. This time New York comes to play on both ends of the court. Take the KNICKS! |
11-03-16 | Pacers v. Bucks +2.5 | 107-125 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show
Indiana at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Pacers- Interesting matchup between a pair of 2-2 clubs that has the Indiana Pacers with a healthy Paul George and a 'new' look Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks acquired center Greg Monroe during the off season but he hasn't received much playing time (less then 20 minutes per game) because Miles Plumlee gets the playing time and they use John Hanson when it comes crunch time to play defense. But, the key here is Giannis Antetokoumpo who is averaging 36 points per game. Take the home club...MILWAUKEE! |
11-02-16 | Thunder v. Clippers -7 | 85-83 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 21 m | Show
Oklahoma City at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Thunder- This is a battle of early season unbeaten's as both clubs started fast and are 3-0. The storyline for Oklahoma City is the departure of Kevin Durant and the triple-double season possibilities for Russell Westbrook. Although he is shooting only 44% from the field and the fact that he took 44 shots and missed 27 shots doesn't seem to bother Westbrook as he has no conscience offensively. L.A. Has been a bridesmaid of late as late season injuries have hurt their cause. Tonight they are healthy and romp. Take the CLIPPERS! |
11-02-16 | Blazers v. Suns +3.5 | 115-118 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
Portland at Phoenix 10:00 ET Suns (+) over Trailblazers- The Suns have yet to win a game but their opponents were three of the NBA's better teams as they lost to the Thunder, Warriors and Clippers. Phoenix has the benefit of playing a team the second night of back-to-back games as the Trailblazers were pounded by Golden State last night. The Suns did manage to win two-of-three last season and look to post their first win of the season tonight. Take PHOENIX! |
11-02-16 | Pistons v. Nets +4.5 | 101-109 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show
Detroit at Brooklyn 7:30 ET Nets (+) over Pistons- Like so many other NBA teams the Pistons look like a different animal when they play at home where they are 3-0 or on the road where they are 0-1. The Nets have managed to split two home games but are off a terrible effort om Monday losing to Chicago 118-88. Brooklyn who was last in offensive field goal percentage in the NBA last season is still having difficulties putting the ball in the basket going 5-of-31 with 3-pointers last time out. Still, look for a solid effort here and the home court to aid the Nets cause. Take BROOKLYN! |
11-01-16 | Warriors v. Blazers +5 | Top | 127-104 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
Golden State at Portland 10:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- Golden State has rebounded from their opening night loss to San Antonio with two wins over New Orleans and Phoenix. Portland was eliminated from the NBA Playoff by the Warriors last spring in a series where Damian Lillard averaged 31.8 points and 7.6 assists and now it's 35 points and 5.3 assists this season. After 73 wins this season the Warriors have yet to bring things together with the addition of Kevin Durant and still look a bit disconnected. Take PORTLAND! |
11-01-16 | Bucks +3.5 v. Pelicans | 117-113 | Win | 100 | 9 h 51 m | Show
Milwaukee at New Orleans 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Pelicans- It is a bit strange that New Orleans has the league's leading scorer in forward Anthony Davis and have yet to post a victory (0-3). Milwaukee has posted one win in their three contests aided by Giannis Antetokounmpo who should have a decided advantage over the Pelicans center Omar Asik who is averaging 1.3 points and 3.7 rebounds. Going back to last season New Orleans has dropped their last eight including a loss to the Bucks. Take MILWAUKEE! |
11-01-16 | Kings +3.5 v. Heat | 96-108 | Loss | -102 | 8 h 28 m | Show
Sacramento at Miami 7:30 ET Kings (+) over Heat- Miami opened the season with a road win at Orlando but have fallen two straight games at home in American Airlines Arena. The Kings are 2-2 and are off a loss at Atlanta where center DeMarcus Cousins had limited playing time due to foul trouble. Tonight presents a true throwback match-up as Miami's Hassan Whiteside emerges as one of the the better true centers and Cousins clash. The Heat are last in the NBA free throw shooting percentage and that hurts in games when laying points. Take SACRAMENTO! |
10-29-16 | Grizzlies +2 v. Knicks | 104-111 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Memphis at New York 7:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Knicks- So, the 'new' group of underachieving 'Super Stars' are playing in Madison Square Garden and New Yorkers are a gaga. The lady may sing but this group just hasn't put it together. The Derek Rose trial is behind him and them as he missed crucial per-season time and former and new team mate Joakiam Noah went scoring in his Knocks debut. Memphis was without two starters in their opening night victory over Minnesota but Tony Allen and Chandler Parsons (former Knick) will be ready tonight. Take MEMPHIS! |
10-28-16 | Warriors v. Pelicans +10.5 | 122-114 | Win | 100 | 10 h 16 m | Show
Golden State at New Orleans 9:30 ET Pelicans (+) over Warriors- My first instinct was to take Golden State to bounce back from their beating opening night to San Antonio, then I realized that everybody else was probably thinking the same thing. I remember Cassius had that 'lean and hungry look...he thinks too much' , and that might be happening to the Warriors. Is their chemistry dead, probably not, is it different it certainly is and will it get better, yes in time. But, not soon enough to get past Anthony Davis in New Orleans. Take the points and the PELICANS! |
10-28-16 | Lakers v. Jazz -8.5 | Top | 89-96 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
L.A. Lakers at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (-) over Lakers- We were able to 'clock' the Lakers in their opening win against Houston Wednesday as all of Los Angeles celebrated for Luke Walton as he is the new coaching guru in the NBA. The new and improved Lakers may be without Kobe Bryant but even the discussion or thoughts of him are now gone. Utah opened the season at Portland Tuesday and were handed a 114-106 defeat. Returning to Salt Lake City for their home opener the Jazz run down the Lakers. Take UTAH! |
10-28-16 | Cavs v. Raptors +3.5 | 94-91 | Win | 100 | 8 h 56 m | Show
Cleveland at Toronto 7:05 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- The Cleveland Cavaliers opened the season by throttling the New York Knicks 117-88 on Tuesday as 'King James' started the season with a triple double recording 19 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds as he show his all-round talents. Toronto opened Wednesday with a through 109-91 victory over the Pistons. Cleveland ended the Raptors playoff hopes last season winning the series 4-2 and winning by an average 28.5 points. They did manage to win 2-of-3 during the regular season so I can see them winning here. Take TORONTO! |
10-27-16 | Spurs v. Kings +8.5 | 102-94 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
San Antonio at Sacramento 10:30 ET Kings (+) over Spurs- San Antonio opened their season (and ours) with a huge win 120-100 over Golden State and will now christen Sacramento's new arena Golden 1 Center. The Kings now only have a new arena but a new coach as well as Dave Joerger who opened the season with a 113-94 win over Phoenix last night. I realize how good the Spurs are but with that huge win over the Warriors and the knowledge that they defeated the Kings in all three meetings last year they may be a bit cocky (they have a right to be) and that doesn't work in pro sports. Take the KINGS! |
10-26-16 | Rockets v. Lakers +7 | 114-120 | Win | 100 | 12 h 35 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Lakers (+) over Rockets- Gone from the Rockets is Dwight Howard but do the headaches remain? Scoring machine James Harden is happy to be playing without Howard and to be coached by offensive-minded Mike D'Antoni. Luke Walton has taken over the reins for the Lakers young talent that has added veterans Luol Deng, Jose Calderon and Tim Mozgov. With D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and rookie forward Brandon Ingram No. 2 overall pick from Duke maturing fast. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-26-16 | Nuggets +2 v. Pelicans | 107-102 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show
Denver at New Orleans 8:00 ET Nuggets (+) over Pelicans- It looks like the same old story in New Orleans. They have one of the best and most dynamic player in the NBA with Anthony Davis but he has trouble staying healthy and so do many of his teammates as guard Tyreke Evans has knee surgeries, Quincy Pondexter knees and Jrue Holiday who was hurt most of last season is with his ailing wife. Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry appears in be in over-his-head at times. Nuggets play together and can win here. Take DENVER! |
10-26-16 | Wolves +2 v. Grizzlies | Top | 98-102 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 12 m | Show |
Minnesota at Memphis 8:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Grizzlies- This one seems a bit odd right off the bat as Memphis a playoff team last season at 42-40 is such a small favorite at home against Minnesota who won only 29 games last season. Maybe the odds makers believe the Timberwolves have improved by because of personal but because of their new coach Tom Thibodeau who of course coached the Chicago Bulls for five seasons averaging 55 wins a season. The Grizzlies have a new coach as well in David Fizdale who has to deal with three players that have maxed-out contracts. Both these clubs like to bang and play defense but Thibodeau has a tougher mentality. Take MINNESOTA! |
10-25-16 | Spurs +9.5 v. Warriors | 129-100 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show
San Antonio at Golden State 10:30 ET Spurs (+) over Warriors- How do you improve on 73 wins? You really can't even win more even with the addition of Kevin Durant. Golden State completed the best regular season in NBA history but now they will be more focused in the post season and look to just play well and stay healthy. The 'nre; look Spurs will be without Tim Duncan for the first time in 20 years but believe me they will look and play the same as the club that won 67 games last season. If not for the Warriors record setting season the San Antonio Spurs would be discussed as one of the great NBA seasons. Warriors coach Steve Kerr admits that the Warriors are not playing together as he hopes, yet. Look for the Spurs to take this one down to the final horn. Take SAN ANTIONIO! |
06-19-16 | Cavs +5 v. Warriors | Top | 93-89 | Win | 100 | 28 h 40 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- Well, we got what we wanted...a Game 7 of the NBA Finals with the biggest stars of the game facing each other in what has become a hotly contested series. With all the blowouts and non-competitive games it ends up both clubs have scored the exact number of points (something that has never happened in NBA history) as the enter the Championship game Sunday night. After Game 2 most thought the Cavaliers were dead and even more so after Game 4 as they trailed 3-1 and had to play two at Golden State. Well, what happened is LeBron James got tired of hearing all this 'shit' about who was now a better player then 'King James' and took it upon himself to 'will' this Championship for Cleveland. A win for the ages...Take the CAVALIERS! |
06-16-16 | Warriors v. Cavs -130 | Top | 101-115 | Win | 100 | 14 h 41 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Cavaliers over Warriors- The Cavaliers once again face elimination against the Warriors and will most likely need more record setting performances like the one's they got out of Lebron James and Kyrie Irving who each scored 41 points in Game 5. Golden State was of course without Draymond Green last time out who's defense and total play helps make the Warriors go. Their defense took another hit as Andrew Bogut is out for the remainder of the series. Kevin Love who has been just so-so is back for Cleveland and he seems to play better at home. Take the CAVALIERS! |
06-13-16 | Cavs +6 v. Warriors | Top | 112-97 | Win | 100 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- I know one thing, the Cavaliers just don't pass the 'eye test' when you see them play against the Warriors. They just don't seem as quick and just don't shoot the ball as well as Golden State. The trends here destroy Cleveland's chances as they are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 meetings at Golden State and they are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings while the Warriors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven NBA Championship games. The Cavaliers played one game without Kevin Love and won, this time Golden State will be without Draymond Green and that will hurt the Warriors. Take the CAVALIERS! |
06-10-16 | Warriors +2 v. Cavs | Top | 108-97 | Win | 100 | 11 h 9 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Warriors over Cavaliers- The questions tonight are will Kevin Love be available for tonight's Game 4 in Cleveland and will the 'real' Steph Curry show up before the series is over. Without Love the Cavaliers pounded the Warriors in Game 3 by 30-points and with Love in the line-up they looked slow and deliberate in both losses which were played in Golden State which appears to be the difference as they won the first two games by a total of 48 points at home. Golden State coach Steve Kerr called his team 'soft' after the Cavaliers out-rebounded the Warriors 60-41 in Game 3 and we will see a more aggressive team this time out. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
06-08-16 | Warriors v. Cavs +1.5 | Top | 90-120 | Win | 100 | 14 h 27 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- After what I saw in Game 2 I only hope that the Cavaliers aren't as shell shocked as I am. I mean really, Cleveland put up a better fight last season without Irving and Love, who have been standing around on defense watching the Warriors run the floor. What everyone believes is that it all comes down to 'LeBron' but he just can't do it without any help. James has turned the ball over more often as he is a 'point forward' that plays the entire floor and will be involved in of the action. Coming home after getting blowout they way they did can only help. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-05-16 | Cavs +6.5 v. Warriors | Top | 77-110 | Loss | -109 | 13 h 13 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- When looking at the stats of Game 1 with Golden State winning 104-89 it is shocking to see how the Warriors were able to win by 15-points with their two Super-star shooting guards scoring only 20 points between them as the Golden State beach outscored Cleveland's reserves 45-10. The Cavaliers have now lost six straight games in this series dating back to last years playoffs. Despite the result of the first game the Cavaliers are a much better team this season then last and will come up big here. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-05-16 | Cavs v. Warriors OVER 208.5 | Top | 77-110 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 9 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers/Warriors OVER – After what I saw or didn't see in Game 1 it all will be on display Sunday night as the NBA's 'Best' clash Game 2 in the Finals. When I say NBA's 'Best' I mean as individuals and as two teams. The Cavaliers and Warriors did not live up to their billing in Game 1 as golden State's Klay Thompson and Steph Curry reputability the best shooting guard tandem in NBA history scoring a combined 20 points and Cleveland's long range shooter J.R. Smith a 'gunner' on all accounts taking only three shots in 35 minutes making just one. I expect all of the above and a few other help push this game OVER the total no matter where it ends up! I rarely play totals as my last releases was the Super Bowl WINNER! Play the OVER! |
06-02-16 | Cavs +6 v. Warriors | Top | 89-104 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 10 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- The Golden State Warriors have now won 85 games this season including the playoffs and now have just one final hurdle in order to be labelled the 'Greatest NBA Season' ever. The shooting combination of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson has never been equalled and now they for the second straight year face Cleveland in the Finals. Last season the Cavaliers were without Kevin their starting center as well as Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. The Warriors won both meetings this season which were played before Tyron Lue took over the coaching duties. Game 1...take CLEVELAND! |
05-30-16 | Thunder +7.5 v. Warriors | Top | 88-96 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 54 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Golden State 9:00 ET Thunder (+) over Warriors- If Oklahoma City fails tonight their season will be remembered as one where they were not able to 'close' games losing 16 times with a lead in the final quarter. All season the Thunder have blown late leads including Game 6 at home when they committed six turnovers in the final five minutes all by Westbrook (4) and Durant (2). Golden State has shown their true championship colors by coming back an forcing a Game 7 after winning two elimination games and outscored OKC 63-9 from 3-point range. In both final series 12 games in the East between the Raptors and Cavs and the West Thunder and Warriors there has yet to be a game where the points came into play. (a win but non-cover). It could happen tonight. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-28-16 | Warriors +2.5 v. Thunder | Top | 108-101 | Win | 104 | 14 h 31 m | Show |
Golden State at Oklahoma City 9:00 ET Warriors (+) over Thunder- The Golden State Warriors were facing elimination last time out and managed to post the much needed win and once again face the same dilemma but this time in Oklahoma City. The Thunder defeated the Warriors by and average 26 points winning Games 3 & 4 inflicting their first back-to-back losses before falling at Golden State in Game 5. I unlike one of my close handicapping competitors I will take Golden State because I believe they will win here whereas he will take the Warriors with his theory that you can only get beat once if you fail. He may be right but that is a 'losers mentality.' Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-27-16 | Cavs -6 v. Raptors | 113-87 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show
Cleveland at Toronto 8:30 ET Cavaliers (-) over Raptors- Have we seen this before? A NBA Playoff series that has been so dominated by the home teams. Yes, I know that their have been series where the home team has won every game before but has their ever been a series where the home teams won so convincingly? I don't think so! Cleveland leads the series with three big home wins the last a 116-78 thrashing on Wednesday. The Raptors have defeated the Cavaliers four straight times at home this season and yet Cleveland is favored once again on the road. This time the Cavs measure up. Take CLEVELAND! |
05-26-16 | Thunder v. Warriors -7 | 111-120 | Win | 100 | 13 h 32 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Thunder- Well, Russell Westbrook may not be a 'Superstar' but he sure has been dominating the league's reining two-time MVP in the NBA Western Conference Finals. Westbrook has out-performed Stephen Curry on the court by a wide margin as he leads him in points 27.3-24.3, rebounds 6.5-5.5, assists 11.8-4.5 ans steals 3.8-2.0. Golden State suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season and they are failing the 'eye-test' by a wide margin. Returning home should give Golden State a much needed 'shot in the arm' so to speak as the return to the winning column. Take the WARRIORS! |
05-25-16 | Raptors +11 v. Cavs | 78-116 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 35 m | Show
Toronto at Cleveland 8:30 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Confidence is such a critical factor in sports and most athletes mind set is so fragile that it changes quickly without much notice. The Toronto Raptors are now full of confidence after winning the last two at home over the Cavaliers and have drawn even (2-2) in the East finals. They have now defeated Cleveland four straight times at home but have lost badly all three games played in the Hall of Rock city. Toronto is 2-6 on the road this post-season but will most likely have center Jonas Valanciunas ready to play for the first time in this series will aid Bismack Biyombo in grabbing the ball off the boards. This time it's the RAPTORS! |
05-24-16 | Warriors v. Thunder +2 | Top | 94-118 | Win | 100 | 13 h 17 m | Show |
Golden State at Oklahoma City 9:00 ET Thunder (+) over Warriors- The Golden State Warriors believe it or not are in a familiar place as they trail the Thunder 2-1 in this best-of-seven series a place they were in twice last season on their way to the NBA Championship. Ordinary I like to 'play' on a team that lost the previous game by 20 or more points in the playoffs especially when they are trailing in a series but, and this is huge, the Warriors may have lost their 'mojo.' Golden State is 12-0 following a loss this season and yet the 'line' tells me they might be in trouble again. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-23-16 | Cavs v. Raptors +6.5 | Top | 99-105 | Win | 100 | 13 h 47 m | Show |
Cleveland at Toronto 8:30 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Can a team look much different after returning home then the Toronto Raptors who lost the first two games by a combined 50 points and rebounded and posted a denominate victory upon returning home. We saw a bit of this when the Thunder stormed back against the Spurs but OKC can play and we know it but most don't think much of the Raptors. The Raptors cleaned the boards in Game 3 as Bismack Biyomobo set a franchise playoff record with 26 rebounds and received better play from their All-Star guards. With their added confidence and the fact that they have now defeated the Cavaliers three times at home without a loss this season. Take TORONTO! |
05-22-16 | Warriors v. Thunder +3.5 | Top | 105-133 | Win | 100 | 12 h 27 m | Show |
Golden State at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Thunder (+) over Warriors- After getting their 'split' in California the Thunder need another split in the next two games when they host to maintain home court advantage. Oklahoma City played Game 2 like they knew it didn't matter after they had already posted a win in Game 1. The question is can they just turn it back on just because they are playing at home where they were 36-11. The truth of the matter is that the Warriors have a better road record 36-9 including the playoffs. But golden State is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four meetings in OKC and the Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss. Take the THUNDER! |
05-21-16 | Cavs v. Raptors +6.5 | 84-99 | Win | 100 | 13 h 41 m | Show
Cleveland at Toronto 8:30 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- The Cleveland Cavaliers have shown a dominated in the Eastern Conference payoffs that has never been experienced before. The Cavaliers have won 10 straight Eastern Conference games this season and 17 straight over the past two seasons an NBA record. They have dominated the Raptors the first two games of the East Finals winning by an average 25 points. Toronto returns home where they are 38-11 and have defeated Cleveland twice during the regular season. We are all aware of the Raptors guards struggles but upon returning home I expect the shooting averages of Kyle Lowey (1-of-15 from 3-point range) and DeMar DeRozan to improve enough to 'cover.' Take TORONTO! |
05-19-16 | Raptors +12 v. Cavs | 89-108 | Loss | -101 | 14 h 38 m | Show
Toronto at Cleveland 8:35 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- The Cavaliers are just cruising through the East during the playoffs posting nine straight wins with seven 'covers.' The Raptors who only got past Miami (4-2) in the last round only because of injuries to the Heat's Hassan Whiteside who they had no answer for inside. We are all aware that Toronto run it's offense through their All-Star (? really) guards Lowry and DeRozan and they just can't compete with the Cavaliers 'Big-3.' Still after losing Game 1 by a franchise record 31 points the Raptors will bounce back. Take TORONTO! |
05-18-16 | Thunder +8.5 v. Warriors | 91-118 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 19 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Golden State 9:00 ET Thunder over Warriors- It was the same old story for the first half in Game 1 as Golden State bolted out to a 13-point lead. The second half was a totally different scene as the Warriors stopped moving the ball and started hanging out and just started taking jump shots and started missing jump shots. Oklahoma City didn't play all that well either as both Durant and Westbrook had terrible shooting nights but the Warriors were even worse scoring just 42 points in the second half 14 in the fourth quarter after posting 60 in the first half. OKY has a renewed confidence and Golden State is beginning to 'think.' Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-17-16 | Raptors +10.5 v. Cavs | 84-115 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 36 m | Show
Toronto at Cleveland 8:30 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- If you were as impressed with the Raptors series win over Miami you don't believe they have a chance against Cleveland who is 8-0 in the playoffs. The Cavaliers enter this encounter with nine days rest and although they will be rested and as healthy as they've been all season they haven't been in 'game conditions' and they know that they can cruise here. Toronto's confidence is building and they actually won two of the three regular-season meetings with Lowry averaging 31-points. The Cavaliers set all kinds of three-point shooting records for playoffs in their series against Atlanta. Look for the Raptors to shore up here. Take TORONTO! |
05-16-16 | Thunder v. Warriors -7.5 | 108-102 | Loss | -106 | 14 h 3 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Thunder- Remember what everyone (most) thought when the Spurs blew out Oklahoma City in Game 1 of their series by 32 points. Most thought the Thunder were 'dead in the water' as they looked so bad. Well, now five games later they look so good. I believe that after they way that they beat San Antonio I can only expect a small let-down here. I mean OKC has shown that they can lose Game 1 on the road and still win a series. The Warriors are 45-2 at home and have a well rested Stephen Curry. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-15-16 | Heat v. Raptors -4.5 | 89-116 | Win | 100 | 8 h 1 m | Show
Miami at Toronto 3:30 ET Raptors (-) over Heat- The Miami has pulled out all stop while taking this series to seven games as they are without both their big men as Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside are sidelined. Coach Eric Spoelstra has done an incredible job keeping this club together while going small in Game 6 also sitting both power forwards Amar'e Stoudemire and Udonis Haslem on the bench. The result was four guards that have Toronto guards DeMar De(Frozen) and kyle Lowry heads spinning. The Raptors will also be without their center Jonas Valanciunas but Bismack Biyombo has picked up the slack. I like the Raptors to make it to their first conference finals. Take TORONTO! |
05-13-16 | Raptors +4 v. Heat | Top | 91-103 | Loss | -107 | 12 h 35 m | Show |
Toronto at Miami 8:00 ET Raptors (+) over Heat- It has become obvious that the Raptors are a virtual two-man team as their All-star guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan control their fate. Both clubs are beset with injuries as Toronto has lost center Jonas Valanciunas for the series, DeMarre Carroll has a wrist contusion and DeRozan (who was DeFozen until has last performance) is playing with a bad thumb. Miami of course is without Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside is out with a sprained knee and Luol Deng is under going a MRI on his wrist. These injuries seem to affect the Heat more. Take TORONTO! |
05-12-16 | Spurs -114 v. Thunder | Top | 99-113 | Loss | -114 | 13 h 50 m | Show |
San Antonio at Oklahoma City 8:30 ET Spurs over Thunder- After Game 1 of this series when the Spurs defeated Oklahoma City by 37 points most thought the Thunder had no chance and that San Antonio was going to waltz into the conference finals. The truly shocking part is that the Thunder have won twice in San Antonio who went 40-1 at home during the regular season. The Spurs who have had great depth this season are getting very little from their bench combining for just 11 points in Game 5. Look for the Spurs to recover and win here. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
05-11-16 | Blazers +13 v. Warriors | 121-125 | Win | 100 | 15 h 30 m | Show
Portland at Golden State 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- Well, there is not much more the Trailblazers can do except actually win one of these games in which they have 17-or-18 point second half leads. With or without now Two-time reining MVP Stephen Curry Golden State just runs their opponents off the floor. Portland does have two outstanding guard Damian Lillard and C.J McCollum who can run with the Warriors and will not quit but the talent level falls after that. Portland will do what they can just to 'cover.' Take the TRAILBLAZERS! |
05-11-16 | Heat v. Raptors -4 | Top | 91-99 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show |
Miami at Toronto 8:00 ET Raptors (-) over Heat- I don't know if we can say that this is a well played series but it certainly is one that has been closely contested. In the four games that have been played three have gone into overtime and the other contest was decided by one-point. Miami without center Hassan Whiteside put pressure on the Raptors guards DeRozan (injured thumb) and Lowry who have lost their shooting touch but return to the Air Canada Center where Toronto is 36-11. The are just 22-24 on the road and fall tonight. Take the RAPTORS! |
05-10-16 | Thunder +7 v. Spurs | Top | 95-91 | Win | 100 | 12 h 9 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at San Antonio 8:00 ET Thunder (+) over Spurs- Well, it has now come down to the 'Best 2-of-3' series as the Thunder and Spurs have split each of their two home games. In Game 4 Kevin Durant had 41 points and it looked like all-time great Tin Duncan looked slow and was ineffective on the court failing to score a point and grabbing just three rebounds with zero assists. He is averaging 3,o points and 3.8 rebounds this series and while the Spurs had their best record in franchise history the playoffs are a different animal. Take the points and OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-09-16 | Warriors v. Blazers +4.5 | 132-125 | Loss | -101 | 14 h 9 m | Show
Golden State at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- Under normal circumstances I would love to bounce back with Golden State even without Stephen Curry but the fact is only two players scored more then 10 points (Thompson 35, Green 37) for the Warriors in Game 3 and Portland is undefeated at home in the playoffs. One huge position for the visitor is that they have owned the Portland (Blazers only team with 2 wins over Warriors) and are 20-7 ATS in the last 27 meetings. Tonight it's...PORTLAND! |
05-09-16 | Raptors v. Heat -5.5 | Top | 87-94 | Win | 100 | 12 h 53 m | Show |
Toronto at Miami 8:00 ET Raptors (+) over Heat- Okay, we posted the Raptors as our 'Best' and they won outright, now the question is, has Kyle Lowry who scored 29 of his 33 points in the second half of Game 3 has really found his shooting touch or was that just an anomaly. But, more importantly to the Heat is the question of Hassan Whiteside who left six minutes into Game 3 and it might be too much for the Heat to overcome. Then again, making this a 'guard play' style games puts the ball in the hands of Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson and Goran Dragic who led the team in scoring the first two games. With Miami cutting their turnovers down in-half at home they have a chance to win. Take...MIAMI! |
05-08-16 | Spurs v. Thunder +1.5 | 97-111 | Win | 100 | 11 h 18 m | Show
San Antonio at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Thunder (+) over Spurs- All season long the Thunder have had problems blowing four quarter leads and Friday night they let Game 3 slip away in the final moments and now trail the Spurs 2-1. Russell Westbrook may have scored 31 points but was a dismal 10-of-31 shooting alone with five turnovers that spelled the difference when it was all done. San Antonio who set a franchise record for wins have lost to Oklahoma City three times this season and tonight will be the fourth. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-08-16 | Cavs v. Hawks +6 | Top | 100-99 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Cleveland at Atlanta 3:30 ET Hawks (+) over Indians- Last season the Cavaliers swept Atlanta four straight in the playoffs and it looks like they are about to do it again. Cleveland who swept the Pistons for the third straight time before the Hawks have it working everywhere as they are setting 3-point shooting record almost every time out. Aside from the 3-pointers the Hawks are getting killed on the boards as they hauled down just 28 rebounds while the Cavaliers had 55. Look for huge efforts from the home team and for them to keep this contest within the number. Take ATLANTA! |
05-07-16 | Warriors v. Blazers +4 | 108-120 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show
Golden State at Portland 8:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- The Portland Trailblazers have no realistic chance to win this series especially the way the let Game 2 slip away leading by 17 in the second half (11 entering the 4th quarter) and didn't even manage to 'cover' the number as they were beaten by 11 points getting 9½. Golden State's Stephen Curry is questionable but most likely will rest at least this contest. The key to the Blazers is their guard play and C.J. McCollum is struggling from 3-point range making just 1-of-9 in the series and Damian Lillard when scoreless is the final quarter after putting up 25 in the first three. At home the Blazers will shot better. Take PORTLAND! |
05-07-16 | Raptors +6 v. Heat | Top | 95-91 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show |
Toronto at Miami 5:00 ET Raptors (+) over Heat- The Toronto Raptors consider themselves to be very lucky to split the first two home games of this series both of which went overtime. The storyline nation wide is the in ability of the Raptor guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar Rozan to make shots especially 3-pointers. Lowry is 10 of 35 from the floor in the first two games from anywhere and DeRozan isn't much better at 33.7%. The Heat seemed to be in control most of Game 2 but turnovers were their downfall which says at least Toronto is playing defense. Enough defense to keep this one close. Take the RAPTORS! |
05-06-16 | Spurs v. Thunder +2.5 | Top | 100-96 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 38 m | Show |
San Antonio at Oklahoma City 9:35 ET Thunder (+) over Spurs- After San Antonio's trouncing of the Thunder in Game 1 most could see a way Oklahoma City could possibly win this series. Well, Game 2 happened and now most expect the Spurs to rebound of a game that they 'gave away.' The storyline on offense has not been Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook but of the Spurs LaMarcus Aldridge who has scored 38 and 41 points while shooting 33-of-44. The season series is now at four wins each with the Thunder gaining the home court advantage here. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-06-16 | Cavs v. Hawks +3 | Top | 121-108 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 2 m | Show |
Cleveland at Atlanta 7:00 ET Hawks (+) over Cavaliers- After what we saw in Game 2 I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavaliers just sweep their way through this series. But, I can't let one game be of such influence to keep me away from 'my' side. Atlanta lost by 25 123-98 the same number of 3-pointers Cleveland made on Wednesday. The Hawks were swept (4-0) by the Cavaliers in last season's NBA Playoffs and hope the return home and a little tighter defense will slow down the Cavs. I'm betting on it! Take ATLANTA! |
05-05-16 | Heat +4.5 v. Raptors | Top | 92-96 | Win | 100 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
Miami at Toronto 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Raptors- They may have let the Raptors back in it in Game 1 but the Heat managed win dominate in overtime for the outright win 102-96. Miami has decided to go the rest of the way without Chris Bosh and that is actually a good thing. Well, I do think if he played that he's help but this way everybody knows they have to do it without him. Do you really what to put your trust in this Toronto team? A team that has a history of falling right out of the playoffs. Most would expect the Raptors will bounce back I don't think they will. Take MIAMI! |
05-04-16 | Hawks +7 v. Cavs | Top | 98-123 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 57 m | Show |
Atlanta at Cleveland 8:00 ET Hawks (+) over Cavaliers- The Cavaliers have now won nine straight post-season games against Atlanta to go with their 12 straight playoff wins over the Pistons. The Hawks fought back from 18-points down in the third to take a short-lived lead before James and crew took over down the stretch. The two key players that were missing for Cleveland in the playoff last season struggled last time out as Kyrie Irving with 21 points had his lowest output in five playoff games and Kevin Love was 7-17 shooting, they should help a bit more tonight. Still, the Hawks will put out a huge effort. Take ATLANTA! |
05-03-16 | Blazers +10.5 v. Warriors | 99-110 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 22 m | Show
Portland at Golden State 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- The defending World Champion Golden State Warriors just keep rolling with or without MVP Stephen Curry as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have picked up any slack (there really isn't any). Portland fell behind by 20-points in the first quarter in Game 1 of the series and fought from behind the entire night. With guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum leading the way the Blazers must shoot and defend better and they will. Take PORTLAND! |
05-03-16 | Heat +4.5 v. Raptors | Top | 102-96 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show |
Miami at Toronto 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Raptors- Both Miami and Toronto survived their first round challenge in seven games and have little rest off Sunday's victories. This is the first time since 2001 that the Raptors advanced past the first round and enter this series having won three of four against the Heat in the regular season. Miami has the interior advantage with Hassan Whiteside and their guards Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic will counter Toronto's guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. Take MIAMI! |
05-02-16 | Thunder +8 v. Spurs | Top | 98-97 | Win | 100 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at San Antonio 9:30 ET Thunder (+) over Spurs- Okay, we all saw Game 1 as the Spurs had a 23-point lead at the quarter and 33-point lead at the half and everybody on both sides is well rested. When anyone comes out shooting 18-of-22 from the field contested or not you have a problem. I expect for Oklahoma City to make some adjustments and get back to that spot that produced a 23-point regular season win over the Spurs. Thunder were embarrassed Saturday and will be more aggressive here. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
05-01-16 | Pacers v. Raptors -5.5 | Top | 84-89 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 17 m | Show |
Indiana at Toronto 8:00 ET Raptors (-) over Pacers- The Pacers forced a game-7 by pounding Toronto in the second half posting a 101-83 win in Game 6. All five Indiana starters scored 12 or more points and were led of course by Paul George who is averaging 27.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals for the series needs more help from the rest of the roster. The Raptors post season history is well known and they are determined to change their history and get out of the first found of NBA Playoffs. They will...take TORONTO! |
05-01-16 | Blazers +9.5 v. Warriors | 106-118 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 51 m | Show
Portland at Golden State 3:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- The Portland Trailblazers who surprised most by making the NBA Playoffs were handed a gift by the Clippers when both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin were injured in Game 4 and now they face Golden State who will be without Stephen Curry. The Blazers lost the first two against the Clippers and then stormed back taking four straight and are playing at a high level of confidence. Portland did registrar a win over the Warriors during the regular season and will keep this one close. Take the TRAILBLAZERS! |
05-01-16 | Hornets v. Heat -6 | 73-106 | Win | 100 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Charlotte at Miami 1:00 ET Heat (-) over Hornets- The Miami Heat busted out to a 2-0 lead in this Best-of-Seven series only to have the Hornets storm back and win the next three before blowing the opportunity to close out the series at home. The Heat won to first two at home by a combined 44 points and managed to win Game 6 in Charlotte 97-90. The Hornets can only lament on what could have been as Miami turns up the 'heat' here. Take MIAMI! |
04-30-16 | Thunder v. Spurs -6 | 92-124 | Win | 100 | 13 h 18 m | Show
Oklahoma City at San Antonio 8:30 ET Spurs (-) over Thunder- These two split their season series with two wins apiece with the home team winning each contest. San Antonio has won six of the last seven meetings at home but the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings, but this is went it counts most and the Spurs know how to get it done with two-time Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard playing head-up against Kevin Durant. With only Non-Super-Star Russell Westbrook to help it won't be enough. Lay it! Take SAN ANTONIO! |
04-29-16 | Clippers v. Blazers -10 | 103-106 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 12 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (-) over Clippers- I know many teams get injuries and lose top players as it as even happened to the Warriors but what's going on with the Clippers just gives them a reason to quit. Now, I rarely believe that professionals 'quit' but the line on this game tells me Los Angeles is done. Without Blake Griffin the Clippers still believed they could win as they did without him during the regular season but with Chris Paul also down they know it's just too much to overcome. Los Angels is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up loss and tonight ends it. Take PORTLAND! |
04-29-16 | Heat +2 v. Hornets | Top | 97-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
Miami at Charlotte 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Hornets- Okay, the Heat won the first two games at home by more then 20-points as they took a commanding 2-0 lead against the Hornets in the Best-of-7 series but they have stumbled the last three times out and now it's Charlotte that appears to be in command. Hassan Whiteside has been a huge factor for Miami without Chris Bosh and the Heat have actually played better without Bosh but, Whiteside seemed to take the second half off Wednesday night as the Hornets stole Game 5 with a late 3-pointer. Tonight Miami will extend the series. Take the HEAT! |
04-29-16 | Raptors +2.5 v. Pacers | Top | 83-101 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
Toronto at Indiana 7:30 ET Raptors (+) over Pacers- Indiana needs to pull out a win here or it's time to take out the clubs and play 18 holes. The Pacers showed their weakness in Game 5 by scoring only nine points in the fourth quarter as the Raptors finally got the production they needed out of their back court. For Indiana it is Paul George against the world and one man does not win championships alone. George is averaging almost 29 points but is getting little support from his teammates. Toronto is too well balanced for the Pacers. Take the RAPTORS! |
04-28-16 | Hawks -123 v. Celtics | 104-92 | Win | 100 | 13 h 41 m | Show
Atlanta at Boston 8:00 ET Hawks over Celtics- After what we saw in Game 5 in Atlanta I usually like to come back with the club that lost by 27 points (110-83) and is returning home. But, there is one problem here, the Celtics leading scorer and playmaker Isaiah Thomas is hobbled after the last contest and with Avery Bradley out Boston has lost too much fire-power. Although Atlanta is just 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Boston they are favored here after being a 3-point dog and a loser here in Game 4 and now Atlanta is the favorite. Take the Hawks! |
04-27-16 | Rockets +9.5 v. Warriors | 81-114 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 1 m | Show
Houston at Golden State 10:30 ET Rockets (+) over Warriors- The Golden State Warriors have played almost two full season's injury free and now when it counts the most find themselves with the games 'best player' sidelined because of a wet spot on the court in Houston. The Warriors are 3-2 without Curry this season and ran the Rockets off the court in the second have without Curry last time out as Bernie Bickerstaff reamed out his club for their lack of 'heart.' Golden State averages 10 fewer points without Curry in the line-up and that is enough to get the money. Take HOUSTON! |
04-27-16 | Blazers v. Clippers +3.5 | Top | 108-98 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 25 m | Show |
Portland at L.A. Clippers 10:05 ET Clippers (+) over Trailblazers- Well, events have turned on the Clippers as they not only lost Game 4 to Portland but they also lost their two key components to success. As we are all aware that Chris Paul broke his hand on a fall during the game and then we learned Blake Griffin will also be out. Without these two super-stars the Clippers have been transfixed into a home underdog. Los Angeles has had two days to re-group and focus on the problem and I expect them to make adjustments. Doc Rivers and the rest of the Clippers will pull together and get the win here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-27-16 | Hornets +6.5 v. Heat | 90-88 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
Charlotte at Miami 8:00 ET Hornets (+) over Heat- This series tied at 2-2 has seen the home team win easily in all four contests with the Hornets winners of the last two. Kemba Walker was the difference in Game 4 as he was totally unstoppable and made Dwayne Wade look like an aging super-star. Miami has been exceptional at home of late winning 13 of their last 16 as hosts but Charlotte appears to have all the momentum now and with the possible return of Batum at guard will be a bigger problem for the Heat. Take the HORNETS! |
04-26-16 | Celtics v. Hawks -7 | 83-110 | Win | 100 | 11 h 5 m | Show
Boston at Atlanta 8:30 ET Hawks (-) over Celtics- The Hawks let 'us' down by blowing a 16-point second half lead in Game 4 in Boston and were beaten in overtime 104-95. Atlanta has now let two of the four games played slip through their fingers and with the series now even at 2-2 must take advantage of their home court. Now, they return home where they have won five straight and 12 of their last 14 going back through the regular season. As good as Paul Millsap was good with a career playoff high of 45 points Jeff Teague was bad going 4-of-18 and fumbling the final possession away with a chance to win in regulation. This time the complete the task. Take ATLANTA! |

04-25-16 | Clippers v. Blazers +3.5 | 84-98 | Win | 100 | 11 h 2 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Clippers- The Trailblazers got the much need win in Game 3 and will now try and even the series at two apiece with a win tonight. The Clippers were undefeated in Blake Griffin's return (6-0) until Portland broke through in Game 3 with the win and now they need a repeat performance or return to Los Angeles down 3-1. Once again the the home floor will be the difference. The Blazers will need big performances from the back-court with Lillard and McCollum and will get it once again. Take PORTLAND! |
04-25-16 | Mavs +14.5 v. Thunder | 104-118 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Dallas at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Mavericks (+) over Thunder- The Dallas Mavericks have been totally dominated in this series but did manage to steal Game 2 when the Thunder blew another fourth quarter lead which has now happened 15 times this season. Oklahoma City has had their two big stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook having been find for their actions on and off the court but will both being playing tonight. Dallas will try and claw their way for 48 minutes before they accept their faith. But the points are worth taking. Take DALLAS! |
04-25-16 | Heat +2.5 v. Hornets | Top | 85-89 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 44 m | Show |
Miami at Charlotte 7:00 ET Heat (+) over Hornets- After scoring 123 (a franchise record) and 115 points the first two playoff games Miami was shut down in Game 3 shooting 34.2 per cent and scoring only 80 points. The Heat took advantage with Luol Deng's size at power forward the first two games and then that went by the wayside when the Hornets inserted 7-foot center Frank Kaminky who replace injured guard Nicolas Batum who finished with 15 points who had attempted only one field goal in the two opening games. This time out the Heat make the adjustment. Take MIAMI! |
04-24-16 | Cavs v. Pistons +6.5 | 100-98 | Win | 100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
Cleveland at Detroit 8:30 ET Pistons (+) over Cavaliers-The Cavaliers who lost three of four during the regular season have a commanding 3-0 lead after posting a 101-91 win over the Pistons on Friday. Cleveland has now won 11 consecutive playoff games against Detroit and can tie the NBA Playoff record set by the Lakers against Seattle who won 12 straight from 1980-89. Detroit could have won two of the three played but surprisingly Cleveland had a 46-32 rebounding edge in Game 3 including 12 offensive rebounds. This time the Pistons adjust. Take DETROIT! |
04-24-16 | Hawks +2 v. Celtics | Top | 95-104 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
Atlanta at Boston 6:00 ET Hawks (+) Celtics- The Hawks were trailing the Celtics by 17 at the end of the first quarter Friday and battled back before losing down the stretch. Boston's All-Star Isaiah Thomas scored a career high 42 points in the win but it was not without controversy as Thomas hit Atlanta point guard Dennis Schroder in the face but will not be suspended. The Celtics will still be without their leading scorer in Avery Bradley and that will continue to hurt Boston. Take ATLANTA! |
04-24-16 | Warriors v. Rockets +9.5 | 121-94 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 39 m | Show
Golden State at Houston 3:30 ET Rockets (+) over Warriors- The Rockets pull off a 97-96 win over Golden State in Game 3 but it was not without controversy as James Harden scored the winning bucket with 2.7 second remaining. The NBA brass has stated that the officials made five errors in the final two minutes that help Houston's cause. With Stephen Curry returning from a two-game rest because of an ankle turn will cause the 'number' to be inflated here. In a surprise I expect the Rockets to show up once again. Take HOUSTON! |
04-23-16 | Clippers v. Blazers +1.5 | Top | 88-96 | Win | 100 | 13 h 32 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Clippers- The Clippers roll into Portland with a 2-0 series lead and have won the first two by an average of 20.5 points. The Trailblazers who have surprised the experts by just making the playoffs are 0-5 ATS in their last five overall and are hungry for a win. Los Angeles used their bench for a total of 43 points in Game 2 but are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 when playing on two days rest. The home floor will present a huge advantage for the Blazers as they pull this one out. Take PORTLAND! |
04-23-16 | Heat v. Hornets -2 | 80-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show
Miami at Charlotte 5:30 ET Hornets over Heat- To say the Heat have been dominate the first two games would be an understatement as they breezed through their two home games. Miami is shooting 58% through the first two games and that number will come down in a dramatic fashion this afternoon in Charlotte. Granted the Hornets will be without starting guard Nicolas Batum with a foot injury and he will miss the rest of the series. Look for the Hornets to rebound here and post the outright win. Take CHARLOTTE! |
04-23-16 | Raptors v. Pacers +2 | 83-100 | Win | 100 | 5 h 5 m | Show
Toronto at Indiana 3:00 ET Pacers (+) over Raptors- Toronto's All-Star back court when to work in Game 3 after poor performances in Game 1 as Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan each scored 21 points and led the Raptors to an easy victory. The Pacers who stole Game 1 will be led by Paul George who had 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists but suffered a poor shooting night but is still averaging 28.7 points in the three playoff games played. This time the Pacers get the gold...take INDIANA! |
04-22-16 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +12 | 96-87 | Win | 100 | 12 h 50 m | Show
San Antonio at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- The Spurs posted two huge wins (average 29 point wins) and lead the series 2-0 against the beat-up Grizzlies who just don't have the man-power to win this series. The San Antonio's defense set the tone early in both contests allowing just 13 points in the first quarter in Game 1 and only 11 in Game 2. Zach Randolph has just 17 points n the first two games and Matt Barnes just 11. Look for a super effort at home by the Grizzlies and they get the 'money.' Take MEMPHIS! |
04-22-16 | Hawks v. Celtics -3 | 103-111 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
Atlanta at Boston 8:00 ET Celtics (-) over Hawks- Last time out in Game 2 the Celtics set a NBA Playoff record by scoring just seven points in the first quarter (trailed 24-3) and fought for the remaining three quarters to make it close as they eventually lost 102-101 and fell behind 2-0 in the series. Boston has to deal with the injury to Avery Bradley (leading scorer) and now Kelly Olynyk who is questionable and Marcus Smart suffered a bruised rib in Game 2. Atlanta record 15 blocks shots in Game 2 but will find the environment a bit more hostile. Take BOSTON! |
04-22-16 | Cavs v. Pistons +5 | Top | 101-91 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Cleveland at Detroit 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over Cavaliers- The Cavaliers made 20 3-pointers in their Game 2 rout of the Pistons in Detroit 107-90. Detroit let a lead slip away in the fourth quarter of Game 1 and will come out in a physical fashion. Cleveland who is favored of course to get to the Finals is just 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a straight-up win by more then 10 points and the Pistons are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a loss of 10 points or more. This time take DETROIT! |
04-21-16 | Warriors v. Rockets +5 | Top | 96-97 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
Golden State at Houston 9:30 ET Rockets (+) over Warriors- By all reports on Stephen Curry is that there is nothing serious and his status is a game-time decision. With Golden State up 2-0 in this series they may take the cautious rout and keep him sided line until they are threatened. Houston came to life so to speak as they 'covered' the original number but were caught by the closing bell. There is no getting around the fact that the Warriors are 13-1 against the Rockets since the beginning of last season including the playoffs but they need not 'cover' here. Take HOUSTON! |
04-21-16 | Raptors v. Pacers +1.5 | 101-85 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Toronto at Indiana 7:30 ET Pacers (+) over Raptors- Suddenly after a season of guard dominated play the Raptors are finding their major production in the opening round of the NBA playoffs from their center Jonas Valanciunas. With a pair of All-Star guard Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozen have been struggling. Most of that I believe is because of the superior play of the Pacers Paul George who is averaging 30.5 points in the split series. With their Game 2 win Toronto ended a seven-game playoff losing streak only to start a new one tonight. Take INDIANA! |
04-21-16 | Thunder v. Mavs +9 | 131-102 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Dallas 7:00 ET Thunder (-) over Mavericks- The question for me surrounding this game is 'What kind of integrity do the Oklahoma City Thunder have as professionals.' If they have any at all after their showy pre-game dance and late fourth quarter collapse. The numbers are no good when looking at the Mavericks as they are 0-5 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record. To make matters worse is that the Thunder are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 trips to Dallas. But none of that matters tonight. Take DALLAS! |
04-20-16 | Blazers v. Clippers -8.5 | 81-102 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show
Portland at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Trailblazers- The Clippers surprise a few with they way they handled the Trailblazers as they won by 20 in an easy 115-95 victory. If center DeAndre Jordan continues to dominate the boards Portland will have little chance. This is a reason Jordan stayed here and now he's out to make good like his Game 1 performance with 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots. The Trailblazers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall while the Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-20-16 | Pistons v. Cavs -10 | 90-107 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show
Detroit at Cleveland 8:00 ET Cavaliers (-) over Pistons- The Pistons let a golden opportunity slip through their bubbling hands in the final minutes of Game 1 as they failed to execute and Cleveland stole a victory. Detroit fought like crazy and had a great season to make the playoffs but this loss will be just too much for them to overcome. Although they are now 4-1 ATS against the Cavaliers this season the jig is up. Too much Cavs firepower. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-20-16 | Hornets +5.5 v. Heat | Top | 103-115 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Charlotte at Miami 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Hornets- Now, don't go jumping to any conclusions that I and coming back with the Hornets because of the 'zig-zag' theory. I am not, I don't pay too much attention to that because it really doesn't work. But, in this case Charlotte is a 'Monster Winner' that I expect to win outright. (Please take the points) The Heat won Game 1 by 32 points and the Hornets are just too good to let that pass. Miami scored a franchise playoff record 123 points as Goran Dragic was the only starter not to score in double figures. It will be different tonight. Take CHARLOTTE! |
04-19-16 | Grizzlies v. Spurs -18 | 68-94 | Win | 100 | 12 h 31 m | Show
Memphis at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Grizzlies- I all my years for charting the NBA I never seen anything close to a favorite this high in the playoffs. (and the Spurs are not even the highest seed) San Antonio who is now 41-1 straight-up at home are banged-up and that has a lot to do with the 'number.' In the other two blowouts in Game 1's, the big loser came back with a win (Dallas) or cover (Houston) in Game 2. Well, I just don't thing that's going to happen tonight. Memphis has lost seven straigh road games and 11 of their last 12. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
