Los Angeles and Charlotte meet on Monday and this is a great over spot. For starters, both teams love to play with pace and will push the tempo on each other. Los Angeles has averaged 117 ppg and they’ve also averaged right around the 117 ppg mark defensively. Charlotte has been right that area too, allowing 121 ppg, while averaging 119 offensively. These two teams have a lot of weapons and this will be a game where transition buckets are huge. Grab the over.

The Cavs are the move as they lay the points against Chicago. Cleveland has picked things up and they look like they have returned to top form. They dominated the Wizards on Friday and the Bulls just don’t matchup well with them. Cleveland’s inside presence of Allen and Mobley are going to cause so many issues in the paint on both ends of the floor. Cleveland will dictate the pace and have Chicago’s defense, that gives up nearly 116 ppg, on their heels.

Mavs +4.5

Dallas is the move with the points on Friday. The Mavericks have been incredibly underwhelming so far this season, but this is a great spot for them. Memphis has enough drama ongoing with Morant and they are going to struggle in this matchup. Dallas is going to play a physical game and lean on their defense to knock the Grizzlies out of rhythm. Dallas allowed just 101 points last time out and Memphis has had a ton of issues shooting the ball. Back Dallas.

Phoenix and Los Angeles play in the lone NBA game on the slate Thursday. We’re on the Suns here laying the points. Phoenix is much better than their 3-5 record so far, but they’ve also been solid at home. They come in 3-1 on the year at home and they matchup well with the Clippers. Los Angeles has dropped 2 in a row and this defense has been very inconsistent. They’ve given up 120 an 126 in the 2 losses and the Suns speed will be a difference maker here. Lay the small number as Phoenix can wear down this Clippers defense.

Utah and Detroit have value to the under. This is a high total and both offenses have shown some inconsistencies throughout the early portion of this season. Utah’s last 3 offensive performances finished at 98, 103, and 105. Detroit is only giving up 112 ppg themselves and they have started to slow things down themselves. Neither team is overwhelming with the pace of play and that should result in a more half court style game. This total is too high. Back the under.

Portland -3

Portland is the move here as they take on the Lakers. Los Angeles is on the 2nd leg of a back to back where they played a track meet against Miami on Sunday night. Now they go up against a young Portland team that is red hot. They’ve won 3 straight and they’re averaging over 121 ppg. Look for them to pick up the pace on the Lakers right from the start and have them on their heels all night long. Back Portland.

Wizards +9.5

Orlando enters this matchup looking completely out of sync. The Magic have 1 win against the spread in 6 games this season and just 3 wins in their last 10 overall. Their defense, once considered a strength, has fallen apart early — allowing 120 PPG and struggling mightily in transition. Even when they get ahead, they’ve failed to protect leads late, which has cost them multiple winnable games. On the other side, the Wizards (1-4) will look to stop a 3-game losing streak, and they’ll bring energy and pace to do it. Washington’s young core isn’t afraid to run, and they’ve quietly hung around against tougher teams despite the record. They're capable of lighting it up, this group can keep things close when their offense gets rolling. The Wiz have nothing to fear here — this is a perfect spot to go get it done. Given Orlando’s shaky defense and poor ATS record, there’s clear value in grabbing the points with Washington. The Wizards’ tempo and offensive upside make them a live dog, and this feels like the night they finally cash in. Take Washington to cover and potentially pull off the upset.

The Bucks are rolling right now — 4-0 ATS, 7-1 ATS in their last 8 at home, and Giannis looks flat-out unstoppable. He’s averaging over 36 PPG and has hung 30+ in 3 of his last 5 against the Warriors. Milwaukee’s also won 4 of the last 5 home matchups against Golden State, proving this building hasn’t been kind to the visitors. Golden State comes in off that 98-79 win over the Clippers, but this defense hasn’t looked right yet. They’re still sitting near the bottom of the league in efficiency and now have to deal with Giannis and a confident Bucks squad that just stormed back from double digits to beat the Knicks. That’s a veteran team finding its groove. Bucks catching points at home with Giannis? I’ll take that every time. Give me Milwaukee +3.5.

Boston and Cleveland renew their rivalry and we’re on the Celtics as a home dog. Things have been a struggle without Tatum to start the year, but the Celtics always find a way to give Cleveland issues. Boston has momentum finally after throttling the Pelicans last time out and they finally found their offensive groove that put up 122 points. This is a tough spot for Cleveland as they have played a lot of games the past week and will have another contest Friday night back home. Situationally, Boston is in a good spot and they will have a fatigued Cavs side defensively. Back Boston.

The 76ers are the move as they take on Orlando. Philadelphia is out of the gates fast and they’re doing it with their offense. They’re averaging 121 ppg and they’re pushing the tempo to the extreme. We’ve seen them get up and down the floor quickly and they’re overwhelming teams in transition. Orlando is just 1-3 and giving up 126.3 ppg so far this season. Look for the 76ers to control this game on both ends of the floor and create a lot of open shooting lanes as the game gets deeper. Back Phili.

Orlando is the move against the 76ers. The Magic will head on the road for the first time this season and this is a spot where they can cause issues for Phili. While the 76ers are 2-0, they’ve had some issues on defense. They gave up 116 to Boston and 121 to Charlotte. Orlando has an attack that will allow them to get some quick transition buckets and push the tempo on Philadelphia. This is too nice of a number to pass up. Expect this game to be close throughout. Cleveland is the move here as they take on the Bucks. It’s the home opener for Cleveland after a 1-1 road trip. The offense has been stellar through the first two games and they are going to feast on this Bucks defense. Expect Cleveland to push the tempo and play extremely quick, which should result in a lot of transition buckets. Back Cleveland.

The Raptors tip off earlier with the World Series in town and they have value against Milwaukee. Toronto throttled the Hawks in their opener, putting up 138 points in the process. This offense plays with a ton of speed and they aren’t shy about getting out in transition. Milwaukee allowed 120 points to a weak Wizards side and they’re going to struggle slowing down this Raptors offensive attack. Look for Toronto to get out and run, pushing the tempo on Milwaukee. Toronto is the move as they lay a small number. Back the Raptors.

The Nuggets are the move as they open the season against the Warriors. Golden State defeated the Lakers opening night, but this is a completely different matchup against the Nuggets. Denver is deep and has far more talent than LA, as they’re going to cause a lot of issues for Golden State. Jokic averaged 35.5 ppg in two meetings with Golden State last year and the Warriors just don’t have a solution for him defensively. Denver has the edge on both ends of the floor and getting points with them is a valuable play. Back Denver.

The Thunder are the move here against the Pacers on Thursday. Oklahoma City won a double overtime thriller against Houston on opening night and this team looks poised to make another run at the title. They are just so deep and they can come at teams from so many different angles. We saw them dominate the paint against Houston and the Pacers defensively just don’t have a match for it. Indiana struggled last year with quick teams and they’re going to have their hands full with this Thunder attack. With Haliburton out, the Pacers will struggle early in the season to find their groove. Back the Thunder.

Toronto is the move here as they take on Atlanta. Toronto returns their two key plays in RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl. Both played a huge part in any success they had last season and they added a few pieces around them in the offseason. Brandon Ingram will be the biggest key to join them as he brings in 23 ppg. They also added Immanuel Quickley, who will provide a huge boost with his 17.1 ppg. Toronto is a much deeper team heading into this season and the Hawks are still going to be a mess defensively. Minnesota and OKC meet in game 2 and we’re on the under here. Minnesota was held just to 88 points in game 1 and that’s been the recipe to success for the Thunder all season long. They were one of the top teams in the regular season defensively, giving up just 107 ppg. This postseason, they’re conceding 102 and they’re causing so much havoc defensively. They slow the game down and that’s going to benefit this under once again. Look for this game to turn into a grind as the Thunder love to take the air out of the ball. Indiana is the move as they take on the Knicks in Game 1. Both underdogs advanced in the East and this is going to be a very physical series. This is too many points for the Pacers, who have already proven they can win on the road this postseason. They can look to their perimeter defense, that held the Cavaliers to under 30% from behind the arc in 4 of the 5 games last round. They can frustrate this Knicks side and win this game on the defensive end. New York has shown some issues when it comes to streaky shooting, which doesn’t bode well against this kind of defense. Oklahoma City and Minnesota meet in the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder have good value here at home. Oklahoma City dominated Denver in Game 7 as they continued to force turnovers. Their defense seems to pick up the energy at home, as they forced 75 turnovers in total over the 4 home games in that series. That’s going to be the difference here as the Timberwolves are going to have their hands full trying to create open looks. All season long, the Thunder leaned on their defense and they’re doing that again here in the postseason. Look for them to make a statement in Game 1 and frustrate Minnesota all night long. The Celtics are the move here in Game 6 as they try and send this series back to Boston. While they’re obviously without Tatum, this team still has plenty of talent to go around and they showed that in Game 5 as they forced this series back to MSG. Boston has 6 players score in double figures and they had the guys stepping up all over the place in Game 5. Pritchard and White both set the tone and they have the depth to beat this Knicks side. Look for Boston to put their emphasis on the defensive end and they can turn defense into offense after forcing turnovers. This is a game where Brown can step up in a big way and Boston can send this back home for Game 7. Grab the points.

The Thunder are the move as they try to close out the Nuggets. Oklahoma City took a 3-2 lead as they got some clutch shots down the stretch of Game 5. Denver has had their chances to take control of this series and they’ve failed late and now they’re going to have their backs against the wall here. Their lack of depth has been a giant issue during this series as they’re asking a ton of different players to step up after playing nearly the entire game. The Nuggets had their chance and couldn’t close out Game 4 as now all the momentum is with the Thunder and they’ll have the crowd energy behind them. The Thunder are going to put the clamps down defensively like they did in the 4th quarter of Game 4 as the Nuggets had no answer at the rim. The Thunder dominating all season by leaning on their defense and that’s going to be the difference once again. We’re on the over here as the Celtics and Knicks play in Game 4. Boston rebounded in a big way Saturday to get right back in this series as their offense found it’s groove. This is going to be a wide open game and we should see plenty of offensive production both ways. The Celtics shot 20 of 40 from behind the arc and they’re going to ride that great shooting performance right into play on Monday. New York should have a bounce back performance shooting themselves, which should result in a lot of back and forth this game. Cleveland is worth a move here in Game 4. After getting back to 100% health team wise, the Cavs throttled the Pacers in Game 3. They have all the momentum and this is another case where they can put their foot on the gas and come out firing. Mitchell having the support of Garland and Mobley not only gives the team depth, but it allows for plenty more options on the floor. Cleveland is the better team and they’ll have all the confidence to even this series up in another blowout fashion. Back Cleveland.

The Celtics are the move in Game 3 as the series shifts to MSG. Boston blew huge leads in both Games 1 and 2 and now are in pretty much do or die mode entering Game 3. Despite being down 2-0, they still held double digit leads in both games and they’re the better overall team. They I’ll put an emphasis on coming out with the same fire and holding the lead this time. Boston is still deeper and they’re not going to shoot as bad as they’ve shot from behind the arc. They were one of the best in the regular season, shooting at a 37% clip from behind the arc. This will be a game they’re going to dictate everything and not take their foot off the gas. Lay the points.

Saturday 7* NBA ATS Play

Cavs -2

Cleveland is down 2-0 after blowing a 20 point lead in Game 2 in Cleveland. This is pretty much a must win and while they still have some players questionable, they’re still a valuable pick. Cleveland led for 4/5 of the game without the likes of Garland and Mobley and a couple of missed calls down the stretch costed them. Cleveland is still the better team here and Mitchell is the best player on the court. Look for Cleveland to come out with that same grind mentality and win this game on the defensive end. They let their guard down in the 4th quarter after playing relentless defense for 3 quarters in Game 2. They’re still the better team and have the value here. Back Cleveland.

Golden State has the value here catching a lot of points. Even without Steph Curry, the Warriors are going to keep this close. Golden State is going to slow this pace down and really put an emphasis on this game being low scoring. They showcased they can frustrate teams with their defensive ability after having Houston clearly struggling to find open shots in the first round. Look for this to be a defensive struggle and for this game to be won with their 102 ppg against during this postseason. The Warriors have enough vets still on their team to keep this close. Boston and New York play in Game 2 and we’re on the over. This series is going to prove to be entertaining as these two teams love to push the issue. Boston clearly isn’t shy about shooting the 3 ball and after hoisting up 60 threes in Game 1, they’ll shoot a little better here than making just 15 of them in Game 1. New York’s offense has proven they can compete and they’re going to come in with the same game plan as they’ll attack the rim on Boston. It’s going to open up a lot of shooting lanes and this game should feature a lot of back and forth all night long. Grab the over.

This is a prime bounce back spot for Cleveland. The Cavaliers fell in Game 1 and it took the Pacers having an unreal shooting night to beat them by just a few. Cleveland has been one of the best teams when it comes to bouncing back and they're going to come out with some fire here. Garland remains questionable, but optimistic he can play here in Game 2, which would be a huge boost for this Cavs side, Regardless, they're going to shoot the ball better from 3 and they'll put much more pressure on these Indiana shooters. This is too many points for the Knicks here in Game 1. New York and Boston typically provide a lot of scrappy games where both teams play with a lot of intensity. That is going to be the case here as the Knicks are going to do everything they can to wear down Boston. New York won their series with the Pistons thanks to the defensive end and that is what they'll have to do here. They allowed just 106.7 ppg during the series win and they'll put an emphasis on closing out on these outside shooters. Denver is off a buzzer beating win and now they look to hold par with Game 5 at home. The Nuggets have all the momentum and they have stepped up defensively to make this series even. They’re suffocating these Clippers shooters and they’re not letting these LA stars get into rhythm. The Nuggets are a deeper team as well and with new life, Jokic and Murray are both going to step up here. With new found life in this series, Denver is going to feed off the home crowd energy and come out of the gates quick. Back Denver.

Golden State and Houston meet and this is a good over spot. While this has been a defensive minded series so far, this game is going to be wide open. The Warriors lead 2-1 and Houston is going to have to change their style up. They are a younger team and they had their regular season success with their speed. Look for them to try and pick the tempo up and turn this into a fast paced game, which will obviously give the over value. Jimmy Butler is expected to be back in the lineup and this offense runs much smoother for the Warriors side when he’s in the lineup. Grab the over.

This is a game where Denver has to put the emphasis on getting back to their defensive ways. They allowed far too many easy looks for the Clippers in Game 3 and they’re at their best when they can shut down any transition game. The Clippers have the value here as they take on the Nuggets on Monday in Game 2. Denver threw everything they had at LA in Game 1 and saw 4 of their starters rack up 45+ minutes in what was eventually a 2 point Denver win. The Clippers can still come in with plenty of confidence as they are right there with Denver in this series after Game 1. Milwaukee matches that speed and they finished the season with performances of 136, 125, and 140. This is going to be a game with a lot of quick shots and plenty of transition buckets. The Mavericks are the move grabbing the points. Dallas came out with a purpose in their play in game against the Kings and took it to them right from the start. This will be a game that should have a lot of transition play, given the struggles both teams have defensively. Detroit is worth the move as they take on Dallas. The Mavs are just in free fall mode. They’ve won 1 game this month and they just continue to battle injury after injury. The Pistons come in after a buzzer beating win over Miami and they’re playing with complete confidence right now. This team is too good on both ends of the floor for Dallas and this figures to be a game where the Pistons control everything. Lay the points here.

Los Angeles and Milwaukee meet and this is a great spot on the Lakers. The Lakers are on a high after throttling the Nuggets as they’ve won 3 straight and are playing exceptionally well. Doncic finished with 31-9-7 as this offense is rolling with him leading the way. The Lakers catch the Bucks in the midst of a long west coast trip and that bodes well for a Lakers team that is clicking. We won’t see anyone benched with the back to back as the Lakers cannot afford to sit anyone with the injuries they have. Doncic will lead the way again and this is a great number to get on the home side.

Cleveland is in a bounce back spot here as they've dropped back to back games. This is a great matchup for them to get themselves back on track as the Kings. Despite losing to LA last night, they're still 22-10 ATS on the road and 15-5-1 ATS against the West. The Kings continue to play without Sabonis and it's made them a completely different team. This is a game where Cleveland's offense should roll as the Kings have given up north of 120 in their last 4 games. Look for them to play with a ton of pace and really push the issue on this defense. Cleveland will look to make a statement early in this game. Back the Cavs.

Denver is the move against the Lakers on Wednesday. The Nuggets are going to be much more healthy in this game as both Jokic and Murray are expected to be back for this one. The Nuggets at full health are just so deep and they’ve owned the Lakers in the head to head matchup. They’re 2-1 this season against them and they’ve won 14 of the last 16 head to head games. With James still out, this is simply too much to overcome for the Lakers. Denver’s weapons will overwhelm this Lakers defense and we’ll see them really put an emphasis on creating open shooting lanes like they did in their win over Golden State last time out. Back Denver.

Milwaukee meets Golden State and this is a good over spot. The Warriors struggled on Monday against the Nuggets and this is going to be a game where the offense comes out with some purpose. The Warriors love to push the tempo and this will be a game where they want to come out of the gates early. The Bucks have given up 119 and 121 in their last 2 games as they have had some issues in transition. This should be a quick pace kind of game as both teams have weapons that love to attack. Look for shooting lanes to open as this game goes on both ways, giving them some clean looks from behind the arc. There is good value on this over.

San Antonio and Los Angeles meet and this is a nice spot for an under. Both teams have been hit with injuries and they're extremely shorthanded coming into this. The Lakers will continue to be without James and Rui Hachimura, along with having Doncic still battling injuries and playing through it. This is going to be a game that is slower tempo and we'll see both teams struggle to get into an offensive rhythm. The Spurs simply do not have the firepower to keep up offensively with teams now and this Lakers side is going to struggle to generate offensive production with all the injuries they're dealing with. Memphis and Sacramento meet and this is a good spot on the Grizzlies here. The Kings are free falling and they're coming up with some key injuries as they wind down the 2nd half. Sabonis tweaked his hamstring again in what was the third straight loss for the Kings. They've lost their last 3 by 29, 26, and 17, as they continue to get blown out. Memphis is back to their old selves and they are going to push the tempo on this Kings defense that is reeling right now. The Warriors are the move here as they take on the Knicks. The Knicks have played well this year, but when it comes to playing the top teams in the NBA, things have been a struggle. Golden State has scored 114 points or more in every game of this run and they’re going to have their way against with this Knicks defense. Utah is going to utilize their speed here and look to use their tempo to take advantage of the Raptors inability to score. They are averaging just 104.4 ppg themselves on the offensive end and it's been a struggle. Their inability to create open looks and finish at the rim has been costly in games. Look for this game to be lopsided from the start where Orlando doesn't have much of an answer on either end of the floor.

This will be a game where the Warriors push the tempo on them again and have them on their heels all night long. Lay the points.

The Thunder are still one of the best in the NBA defensively, holding teams to just 106.6 ppg. The Nets catch points against the Lakers and this is a good value spot on them. Lebron James will be out a few weeks with a groin injury and that has put a bit of a damper on the run the Lakers were on. Over the last month, Brooklyn has given some of the top teams in the league issues and this is a case where they catch the Lakers at the right time. Brooklyn is a younger team and they are going to have the advantage with their speed. They love to get out and run and they will wear down this Lakers side that is dealing with injuries. Luka Doncic will be in the lineup, but he has also dealt with injuries all season and isn't 100%. This is a great spot for the Nets to keep this close.

Detroit is the move as they lay a small number against Portland. Portland has dropped 3 of their last 4 and this is going to be a tough next two days for them. They have to deal with a scrappy Pistons team while knowing a trip to Golden State is on the horizon tomorrow. Detroit has caused a lot of issues for teams with their defensive play that is giving up just 113.1 ppg. Detroit will force turnovers and difficult shots, making things incredibly tough for Portland all night long. Detroit won the first meeting of this season series and they are just the more complete team. Back Detroit.
