Minnesota have been terrific this season posting an 18-5-4 overall record -- 11-2-3 on the road.

The Wild have been the best defensive team in the NHL this season in terms of goals allowed per game. They allow just 2.33 a game.

A big part of their winning is because Minnesota stays out of the penalty box. They average nearly five less minutes in the box per game than Utah does.

The Wild are also 13-4 over their L17 games played against "Utah" (who were named Arizona during all of those games.)

Utah have been very average with a 12-11-4 record -- 4-5-2 at home.

The Hockey Club are also just 1-4 over their L5 games played against teams from the West (Central or Pacific.)

Like we talked about, Utah average a lot of PIM. They average the most penalty minutes out of any team in hockey.

We think that the Minnesota will be too much to handle tonight even with Utah on a two-game winning streak. We aren't opposed to taking the -1.5 at big plus money, but are very confident in them on the moneyline.

We like the Winnipeg Jets to defeat the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday at 10:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Winnipeg got back to winning their last game. They beat Minnesota quite easily 4-1.

The Jets have now won 18 of their L24 games overall this season.

They've also won eight games in a row against opponents from the Pacific Division in the Western Conference.

The Kings are off a bad loss to the Sharks ~ 7-2.

That makes them 2-4 over their L6 games on the season.

We don't think that the Kings will be able to rebound against a much better team after that loss.

We like the Dallas Stars to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday at 7:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Dallas is 4-2 against Carolina in their L6 meetings versus each other.

The Stars are also 14-6 over their L20 games played against opponents in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference.

Carolina has a lot of goaltending injury problems right now. They will be starting Spencer Martin tonight who is 1-2-1 this season.

In Martin's last start, he gave up four goals on 21 shots against in a loss against the Devils.

Carolina have lost back-to-back games and we think that they lose a third straight.

Dallas is on a two game winning streak. They'll make it three in a row on Monday.

We like the New York Rangers to defeat the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday at 10:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

The Oilers lost their last game by a score of 5-3 against the Minnesota Wild. They are 4-6-1 at home now on the season.

The Rangers are playing better on the road themselves. They have a 7-2-0 record away from home.

Edmonton have not done so well against the teams with winning records this season. It's not as bad as last year, but the Oilers haven't been on their game.

NYR are 11-4 over their L15 games played against teams from the Western Conference.

In their L16 games overall, they are 11-5.

This is a good bounce back spot for the Rangers. They will prevail on Saturday.

We like the Nashville Predators to defeat the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

It's been a bad start for Nashville considering how active they were in free agency. They will get going now after beating Vancouver in their last game.

Seattle got shutout versus the Rangers their last game. They have only scored six goals over their L3 games.

The last time these teams played against each other in Seattle, the Predators played very well winning 4-1.

Scoring just 2.84 goals per game, the Kraken have had trouble all season putting the puck in the net.

Juuse Saros is the expected goalie for NSH. He's been one of the best net-minders in hockey over the past few seasons. We think he gets going just like the team.

Nashville is only a slight favorite and we're going to take them tonight in a "Blood-Bath."

We like the Florida Panthers to defeat the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday at 8:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

We selected Florida against Winnipeg on Saturday when they won 5-0 at home. Today, we like them to win again.

The Panthers are great on the road. They have won six games in a row away from home.

Florida is also 5-1 over their L6 games played against teams from the Western Conference.

Winnipeg have lost back-to-back games now. They are not playing their best after starting the year extremely well.

The Jets don't do so well against the Atlantic Division in the East. They are just 3-7 over their L10 against teams from that division.

We think the Panthers get the best of the Jets again today.

Florida are the defending NHL Stanley Cup Champions. They will have something to say on Saturday at home.

The Bruins haven't been as good as they were expecting so far this year. But, they are still a very good hockey team.

The L5 times these teams have played one another, the Bruins won four of them.

St Louis haven't been playing well in recent games. They are only 2-5 over their L7 games overall.

The Blues are also just 2-4 in their L6 games against Eastern Conference opponents.

On Saturday, St Louis lost 8-1. We don't see them responding on Tuesday with a win.

Boston will start to go on a winning streak very soon. We think it'll start today.

With the Rangers coming off a 1-6 loss, they'll want to respond with a win on Saturday in this original six battle.

New York is still 8-3-1 this year with the Red Wings sitting at 6-5-1.

Detroit have lost back to back games this season as a home underdog.

When the Red Wings have been the favorites in this matchup, the Rangers have won five games in a row.

We don't see the Red Wings matching up well tonight. The Rangers have too many strong lines. We're on NYR today.

We like the St. Louis Blues to defeat the Utah Hockey Club on Thursday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

The Blues have won back-to-back games and are starting to find their groove.

Despite starting off very well, Utah have really cooled off. They've now lost two games in a row.

Allowing 3.46 goals per game, the Hockey Club could be in for a rough night tonight against this young attack from St. Louis.

Utah also only average 2.85 goals per game themselves. That's a bad ratio considering their record.

St. Louis have won four of their L5 games at home, while Utah are winless over their L5 games away from home.

We're going with the hotter team this Thursday.

We like the Vegas Golden Knights to defeat the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

As of right now, the Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division with an 8-3-1 record on the season. Edmonton is down in 5th at 6-6-1.

With no Connor McDavid for a couple of weeks, Edmonton doesn't have the same attacking options. They need to reshuffle and rethink some things.

The Oilers got shut out last game. They couldn't figure out the Devils at all. They've now lost two of their last three at home.

Vegas has been known to be more of a team that wins at home. But, they still are a top team in the NHL that should be able to win anywhere.

The Golden Knights have won seven of their L8 against Western Conference opponents.

Edmonton are just 2-3 in their last five meetings with the VGK as well.

With Vegas having two extra days of rest compared to the Oilers to prepare, they're our Pacific Division NHL Game Of The Year on Wednesday.

Ottawa seeks consistency after alternating wins and losses recently. Off a win, they'll go for a second straight winner today.

The Sens are 5-1 in their L6 divisional matchup with opponents within the Atlantic Division.

Bufallo are just 3-7 over their L10 games played against Atlantic Division oppoinents.

The Sabres are winning at just a 33.3% clip this season through 12 games. They've been bad on the power-play as well. ]

Both Ottawa's goals are great, no matter who gets the start today.

We're backing the Sens on Tuesday to pick up the win.

The Bruins are a playoff team from last season. Seattle didn't come close themselves.

Boston needs to gain some more momentum going into the next game. They play Toronto on Tuesday, who just beat them just over a week ago.

We like the Toronto Maple Leafs to defeat the Winnipeg Jets on Monday at 7:37pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

We won with Boston on Saturday against Toronto. We can't see the Leafs losing four in a row and they will be the ones to give Winnipeg their first loss of the season.

Winnipeg is 8-0-0. That makes it hard to play against. Honestly though, it's been a pretty easy schedule for the Jets to open the season up. Their hardest games were against Edmonton (opening night,) Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

This will be a big step up in levels for the Jets. Toronto has won nine of the past eleven road games against Winnipeg including back-to-back.

The Leafs have also won three of their last four games played as a road underdog.

Winnipeg are just 1-4 in their last 5 games against Eastern Conference opponents (all at the end of last year.)

Toronto are 13-2 in their L15 against Western Conference opponents.

We've got the Leafs on Monday. Expect them to hand Winnipeg their first L.

The Avalanche have looked a lot better in recent games. They began the season 0-4 and have now won four in a row to get back to .500.

Ottawa gave up six goals last time out in a loss to Vegas. This is a tough road trip for them.

Colorado have won the past five games vs Ottawa on home ice. They've also won seven of the past eight overall.

The Sens have been very inconsistent on the road. They are 4-5 in their last nine games away from home.

The Avs are smelling blood in the ocean this Sunday and will hunt down their fifth straight win. We're backing them.

We like the Boston Bruins to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday at 7:07pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Boston knocked out the Leafs in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference First Round last season. While this may be a revenge spot for Toronto, they aren't playing their best hockey right now.

The Leafs have lost back to back games against teams that they should be winning against in Columbus and St. Louis. Both losses were by four goals.

Boston have lost three straight, but showed signs of waking up against Dallas in their last game.

Even though the Leafs won three games in their playoff series vs Boston, they are just 3-11 in their last 14 games against the B's.

Toronto are also just 4-8 in their last 12 games vs division opponents (Atlantic.)

We're backing the home side in this playoff rematch.

We like the Vancouver Canucks to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday at 8:15pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Vancouver have won back to back games and look to be getting to the level we expected after a slow start.

Chicago is fresh off a 4-2 loss against Buffalo.

The Canucks have owned the Blackhawks in recent history winning 10 of the last 11 games between the two.

In their past five games played against each other in Chicago, Vancouver have won five in a row.

Chicago are just 1-4-1 this season as an underdog.

We feel that this line could very well be even higher. Take the favorite - Canucks.

The Stars are 5-1-0 on the season. The Sabres are just 2-4-1.

Dallas is very strong on the road. In fact, they've won 15 of their last 20 games played away from home.

Buffalo have given up 14 goals over their last three games. That's not very good at all.

The Stars have won three straight meetings against the Sabres dating all the way back to the 2022-23 season.

The Sabres have yet to score on the powerplay this year. That's a shame as underdog teams normally rely on the PP to gain momentum in games like these.

Dallas is a top team in the NHL and we will ride with them tonight.

We like the Tampa Bay Lightning to defeat the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Tampa has yet to lose this season and holds a perfect 2-0-0 record on the season. This will be their second home game in a row.

Vegas didn't do so well at times away from home last year. They are now just 2-6 over their last eight games played on the road.

The Golden Knights are also fresh off a road loss against the Capitals who are a "par" hockey team at best. The Lightning should prove to be even more difficult.

The Lightning have won back-to-back meetings between these teams. They've got their top goalie playing better than ever this year as well in Andrei Vasilevskiy.

With Tampa Bay having owned a 25-11-4 home record last season, we expect them to stay perfect on the year.

We like the Colorado Avalanche to defeat the New York Islanders on Monday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Even though Colorado hasn't won yet, we cannot forget how deadly McKinnon, Makar and Rantanen can be.

Colorado won 50 games last season out of 82. Don't be surprised if they come close to that again this year.

As a home favorite against the Islanders, the Avs have won four straight meetings. COL has also won eight of the past nine home games vs. NYI as a favorite or an underdog.

Overall, Colorado has beaten New York in six of the past seven games between the two.

The NY Islanders are just 1-5 in their last six games played on the road.

The Avalanche should be able to score and we expect them to grab their first win today.

We like the Anaheim Ducks to defeat the San Jose Sharks on Saturday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones.

Off their first loss of the season on Thursday, the Sharks are just 1-9 in their last 10 games played at home.

The Ducks own the series between the two, especially lately. They've won 12 of the past 15 meetings.

Anaheim are also 7-2 in their last nine meetings with SJ on the road.

The Sharks are 3-17 in their last 20 games played against opponents in the same conference as them (West.)

San Jose is slightly improved from last year. But, still have a lot to work on.

Anaheim is one year older and have Zegras back for the beginning of this season after he played just 31 games last year.

We believe that the Ducks are much better and should end up with a better record. Look for them to kick their season off with a win.

We like the New York Rangers to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

It's game one of the season, and the Penguins are already have some injury troubles. Erik Karlsson will play, but he missed all of preseason. Bryan Rust will be out for this game and he's a big part in this Pittsburgh foward line. NYR has a couple of injuries too. But, they are a deep enough team that it shouldn't bother them.

The Rangers made the playoffs last season (ECF appearance.) The Penguins did not.

New York returns practically their entire squad for last year, while Pittsburgh is quite different all around.

The Rangers have won four of the past five meetings between these two teams.

Pittsburgh began last season with a loss against Chicago. We're expecting them to lose again this year in a much more difficult matchup.

Even on the road, the Rangers are superior between the pipes, defensively, and offensively. Look for them to get off to a 1-0-0 start.

I think Florida messed up in not earning the sweep. The Oilers exposed some glaring weaknesses finally in this Panthers' team and I believe this game will be dragged back to Edmonton. And when it does, the Panthers really will be in trouble with the momentum having fully swung the other way. This line feels like a trap for sure in our opinion, and with nearly 80% of the early public money on the home side, this one definitely also appeals to our contrarian nature. Overall great value here, as we expect Edmonton to build off its latest victory with another one here on the road; the play is indeed on the Oilers!

With their backs agains the wall, we like the Oilers to push this series to AT LEAST a Game 5 back in Florida. Note that Edmonton is 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. Florida is clearly in the driver's seat, but we're expecting a classic mental letdown here, similar to what we saw the Celtics have last night in Dallas. Florida will have a chance to earn the cup in front of their fans in Game 5, because here in Game 4 the value for sure lies in the desperate Oilers, who will be risking life and limb to avoid the sweep; lay the short price, the play is Edmonton!

The Oilers have looked good after a loss so far in this year's playoffs, and we're expecting that pattern to continue here. So far there's only been one time in the playoffs that the Oilers have suffered back-to-back defeats (vs. the Stars), otherwise every loss was then followed by a convincing victory. Also ntoe that the Oilers are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a shutout road loss as an underdog vs. an opponent as well. And the only other time that Florida posted a shutout, it then went on to lose the next two playoff games vs. the Rangers. Look for Edmonton to rally here and to find a way to deliver in this crucial spot; the play is indeed on the Oilers!

If you're betting on this game, likely you already know the storylines of each of these team's and how they each arrived at this point. You know the cast of characters and the strengths and the weaknesses of each side, so we're not going to break down the history of how we've gotten here, but instead just give you the solid reasons why we feel the Oilers are the correct call here in Game 1. First, Edmonton does happen to be 4-1 in its last five when playing with three or more days rest. But also the majority of the early public money (70%) has been quick to back the American home side. What Edmonton did to Dallas was impressive and we think the Oilers are going to come out here and steal the Panthers' thunder in Game 1 and get out to a quick start; the play is indeed on Edmonton!

The Oilers have problems in net, and they allow a lot of shots. Dallas ranks among the best in the league in almost every statistical category. It's a complete clash of styles in this series, but we honestly feel that it's the Oilers that are getting way too much respect on the road here. We feel that this line could/should in fact be a lot larger. Edmonton No. 1 Stuart Skinner is down to a .887 save percentage at 5-on-5 and .881 overall in the playoffs. Jake Oettinger has a .941 save percentage at 5-on-5. Edmonton barely got past a severely depleted Vancouver team, and we feel that it'll be completely overmatched here in Game 1; lay the price, the play is Dallas!

Home ice hasn't necessarily been an advantage for either team in this series, but we feel that in Game 7, that will change here for Vancouver, who we suspect will ride the wave of emotion to a solid victory. The Canucks are in fact 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a road loss as an underdog vs. an opponent as well. The Canucks went 4-0 against the Oilers in the regular season and that success now carries over here on home ice. The oddsmakers are trying to bait general betting public in our opinion, and we aren't biting! Grab the plus-money value, the play here is indeed on Vancouver!

New York is up 3-1 in this series after Carolina dug deep and avoided the sweep in Game 4. Now back at home and once again the underdog, we feel that the oddsmakers are completely "off" on this one. New York still has all the momentum, and now back here at home, where it's perfect so far in the playoffs, the unquestioned value in this one absolutely falls on the home side; the play is New York!

10* Panthers (BLOCKBUSTER)

Boston won Game 1, but Florida bounced back with a convincing 6-1 victory in Game 2. The Bruins won all four regular season games vs. the Panthers, but Florida finally got the monkey of its back in Game 2 and we're expecting the visitors to now build off that win with another one here. Florida is healthy and its offense is now firing on all cylinders and with nearly 80% of the early public money on the home side, this one all greatly appeals to our naturally contrarian nature; great value here on Florida!

The Boston Bruins went seven games with Toronto, and then came out and beat the Panthers 5-1 in their first game. Florida then responded by calmly crushing the Bruins 6-1 in the second game. Colorado was a slight dog in the first game, but managed to pull out the 4-3 OT victory. Look for Dallas to respond here in Game 2 though, much like Florida did last night. Note as well that the Stars are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a fav vs. an opponent; all things considered, we feel really great value for Dallas to bounce back here at home in Game 2, so lay the price with confidence!

10* Panthers (2ND RND GOY)

We're primarily "situational" handicappers when you get right down to it. We look at every stat imaginable, but some times we like to keep it simple. And that's the case for this selection. Boston is coming off a grueling seven game series with the Leafs and we're expecting the visiting side to come out fatigued. To say the least! And to say this is a "revenge" game would be an understatement, as the Bruins took all four regular season matchups. This is a rematch of last year's first round, which Florida took 4-3. Florida has had a couple extra days off after winning in five of Tampa, and we say that'll be the difference-maker here between these teams in Game 1 of this series; lay the price with confidence, the play is Florida!

10* Dallas (BEST OF THE BEST)

These teams are really evenly matched, but Dallas now has a major advantage playing on home ice here for Game 7 in our opinion. This line could/should in fact be a lot larger in our opinion, so that does in fact swing the value in favor of the home side here. Dallas won 26 of 41 home games during the regular season, while Vegas won just 18 of 41 away contests. Look for the "hungrier" home side to find a way to deliver the goods once it's all said and done; lay the price, the play is Dallas!

Both teams have a lot of playoff failures on their shoulders here going in to Game 7, but we can't state how important we feel that the home ice advantage will prove to be for the Bruins in the end. Toronto has won back-to-back tight 2-1 contests, but it's difficult to see Boston losing three straight. Also note that the Bruins are 7-3 in their last ten in trying to avenge a road loss as fav vs. an opponent. I really respect Toronto and think it has made this an exciting series, but look for Boston to finally bounce back and deliver the goods here at home in Game 7; great price play is indeed on the Bruins!

8* Stars (DESTROYER)

So far home ice advantage hasn't meant anything in this series. The Knights won the first two games here in Dallas, before the Stars returned the favor by winning both in Vegas. But now we're expecting this pattern to end here, as we look for the Stars to build off their two road victories with their first home win of the Playoffs. Despite winning those two games at the start of the series, the Knights are still just 20-17-4-2 on the road this year, and despite dropping those two games, the Stars are still a sizzling 26-13-4-0 at home. We think Dallas could/should in fact be a much larger favorite; the play is the Stars!

10* Lightning (PLAYOFF PAY-OFF)

Florida is no longer the red-headed step-child in this in-state rivarly, as the Lightning are now on the ropes down 0-3. The hardest game to in a seven games series is the fourth one though, and in our opinion, the Panthers are finally poised for a letdown here. Note that Tampa is 7-3 in its last ten in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. Tampa is still 25-12-4-1 at home this year. We say there's no way the Bolts get swept in this series. Florida packs up the tents early we're expecting, and then wraps this one up at home in Game 5; the play is Tampa!

10* Leafs (EAST-CONF RND. 1 GOY)

As primarily situational cappers, nothing changes in our approach for the most part once the playoffs get going. We're looking for great situations and we're looking for what we feel are good or suspect lines that we can take advantage of. And that's the case here: Boston blew out Toronto 5-1 in the opening game of this series, but the Leafs battled tough and got the home ice advantage now after holding on for the 3-2 win in Game 2. The Bruins were great on the road this year finishing 23-9-7-2, but the Leafs were great at home as well with a 22-15-3-1 record North of the border. Auston Matthews is coming off a huge regular season for the Leafs and he had the go-ahead goal in the their Game 2 victory, and now back at home we think Matthews and company will carry that momentum over. We think Boston is fantastic obviously and on any given Sunday it can beat any team on any night. But getting the Leafs at home at this price in the playoffs no matter who their opponent or the situation has to be considered a legitimate investment option every time in our opinion. That victory snapped an eight game losing streak in the series between the clubs Lenny...so great to get the monkey off their backs, but now back at home I think Toronto will take advantage. Ilya Samsonov is great at home as well and has the upper-hand in net; all this considered, a really great price on the hungry Leafs in Game 3!

10* Predators (BLOOD-BATH)

With nearly 70% of the early public money on the home side, we're definitely "going the other way" with this one and fully embracing our contrarian nature. Just a great spot for this undervalued underdog to pull off an upset here in the opener in our opinion of all of these opening round games. To say this is a "revenge" game would be an understatement, as Vancouver took all three games in the regular season. Note though that the teams haven't played since mid-December. These teams though are more evenly matched now and we're expecting the Canucks to fold now that the Playoffs are here. At least in Game 1 anyways! The play is indeed on Nashville!

10* Penguins (NON-CONF GOW)

No need to overthink this one. The Predators are locked into the first Wildcard and just need to end the season without any significant injuries. The Penguins have to win their final two games (and get outside help), to make a Wildcard. With the home side risking life and limb to secure a victory, and with the visitors just going through the motions here, we feel this to be the very defintion of "great line value." The play is Pittsburgh!

This one is for all intents and purposes for the Pacific Division title, and because of that, we can't stress how important we feel that the home ice advantage will prove to be for the Oilers tonight. A great price on Edmonton. This is the final game of a three-game trip for Vegas, which has lost the first two. It has a night off and then finishes the season with four straight at home. We say the visitors get caught "looking ahead" and that the "home ice" advantage will prove to be crucial for the Oilers in this one. Edmonton got off to a super terrible start at the beginning of the season, but the Oilers are firing on all cylinders here now at the end of the season, off back-to-back victories, also having three whole nights off after a 4-2 win at Calgary. Look for the well-rested home side to deliver the goods, the play is indeed on Edmonton!

We like Colorado to defend home ice here and to deliver the goods. A great price overall. Dallas JUST had its eight game win streak snapped last night in a 3-2 loss at Chicago as a -330 favorite and we feel this game here in Colorado the following night sets up as a classic "letdown" spot now for the Stars. Woudl anyone blame Dallas for taking a mental night off here and then preparing for its final four games, all at home and all favorable matchups (Buffalo, Winnipeg, Seattle and St. Louis?!) The Avs have been trading wins/losses over theri last five games, and off a 6-2 loss at Edmonton last time out, all signs point to this strong pattern continuing here; lay the short price, the play is indeed on Colorado!

10* Islanders (ANNIHILATOR)

The Isles have won three straight and they're in a dog fight with several teams for the seventh and eighth spot. They play with revenge after a 3-1 loss at Nashville in January. The Predators just snapped a three-game slide with a 6-3 home win over the Blues, but with another tough game at New Jersey tomorrow night, we feel the visitors get caught looking ahead here. The value swings to the revenge-minded and hungry home side that's in a fight for its playoff life; the play is indeed on New York!

10* Wings (UNDERDOG OF MONTH)

The Rangers can't afford to take the foot off the gas if they hope to hold onto the No. 1 spot in the East, because the Bruins are only one point behind them. There's only two weeks left in the regular season, and after three straight losses, the Wings bounced back with a 4-2 win at Tampa three nights ago. Now rested, they sit in ninth spot right now, just one game behind the Islanders and Philly for 7th and 8th spot. Detroit is also tied with Washington for that 9th spot. The Wings play with the added incentive of revenge here after falling 3-2 at New York at the start of the season. The Rangers just beat the Devils in their latest game, but with a home date vs. lowly Montreal up next, could the visitors also get caught "looking ahead" here?! Look for the hungry and now desperate home side to risk life and limb to build off its most recent win over the Lightning and to avenge the earlier loss at the same time; the play is indeed on Detroit!

We feel that Colorado is worth the price of admission in this spot. The Avs are 46-21, but they've lost two straight here, including a 3-2 shootout setback to New York most recently. They play with revenge after a 5-1 loss to the Predators at the start of the month and after this they hit the road for three straight. This is an important game for Colorado on a number of different levels and we're expecting it to risk life and limb to try and stop the slide. Nashville on the other hand had its six-game win streak come to a resounding halt last time out in Arizona, falling 8-4 and we're expecting the Preds to have another letdown here, as they get caught looking ahead to their matchup at home vs. Boston next; lay the price, the play is Colorado!

8* Sabres (DESTRUCTION)

We think that Buffalo could/should in fact be a much larger favorite in this spot/matchup. True, the Sabres are just 17-17-0-1 at home this year, but the Senators are a poor 11-20-2-0 on the road. Ottawa has won two straight, but with a home game vs. Chicago tomorrow night, we're expecting it to get caught looking ahead here. The Sabres snapped a two-game slide with a 4-1 win over Calgary in their most recent matchup. The Sabres have a big advantage in net in this one and when you add up all of these situational factors working in favor of the home side, it does indeed make this a price in which we have no issues at all in laying; the play is Buffalo!

We like Florida to build off its 4-1 win at Philadelphia, which saw it snap a four-game losing streak. It plays with revenge as well after falling 3-1 to the Bruins here at home in November. Boston has lost two straight and gets caught "looking ahead" to its game at Tampa tomorrow night; lay the price with confidence, the play is Florida!

10* Red Wings (DESTRUCTION)

The overwhelming situational factors working in favor of a really desperate and hungry Detroit side makes this a price in which we have no issues at all in laying. Columbus is off a 6-1 home loss to Winnipeg and has a tough continuing road trip after this at Colorado, Vegas, Arizona and Pittsburgh. The Wings have lost eight of their last nine. One night after snapping their seven game skid with a 4-1 victory over Buffalo, they then lost 6-3 at Pittsburgh. Here's the perfect opponent to get untracked against, as the Jackets are just 10-16-5-1 away from home. Lay the price with confidence, the play is indeed on Detroit!

We feel this is a great spot for the Islanders. Ottawa is off back-to-back extra period victories, but it's still just 9-19-2-0 on the road. The Islanders come in desperate now to snap a two-game slide, and they remain 15-8-6-3 at home. After back-to-back scoreless road losses, look for the Isles to risk life and limb to get back into the win column today and lay this price with confidence!

Here's a great situational play. Washington is in Edmonton on Wednesday night and it'll be "gassed" here in the second game of the back-to-back. The Capitals are just 13-14-3-1, while Seattle is 14-12-5-1 at home. The Kraken are coming off B2B losses, so will be extra motivated here, most recently a 5-4 OT setback to Vegas. Look for Seattle to risk life and limb to secure a victory here!

Just a great situational play. Nashville has been hot, but it's off a tight 2-1 win at Columbus just last night, and fatigue will clearly now be a factor in the second game of the B2B scenario. The Wild play with revenge after a humbling 6-1 loss at Nashville at the end of February. The Wild have had a night off to absorb a tight 2-1 OT loss at Colorado, but all signs point to an immediate bounce-back here at home, where they're still 15-12-4-0 this season; lay the price, the play is Minnesota!

10* Kings (REVENGE ASSASSIN)

No need to overthink this one, as this one sets up well for the revenge-minded home side. The Stars are off the 6-2 win at the Ducks just last night, but with three whole nights off after this followed by a home game vs. Floriday, not only does this set up as a letdown spot, but also a look-ahead (and when you add those two factors together you get "trap game.") LA does play with revenge here as well after the 5-1 loss at Dallas back in January, and after winning three of its last four, all signs point to LA taking advantage of this situation here at home. All things considered, we feel this to be the very definition of "great line value;" the play is LA!

8* Kings (BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT)

No need to overthink this one. The Senators were a favorite on the road last night, but they blew a big chance to get into the win column by falling 2-1 at Anaheim. I had a play on Ottawa in that one unfortunately and while we don't "flip flop" on teams from one night to the next, this is clearly just a horrible spot now for the Sens and we feel that LA should/could in fact be a much larger favorite here. So we're correcting a mistake from last night and are expecting the Kings, who are off a 2-1 OT loss here to the Canucks, to take advantage. LA is still 12-10-2-5 at home, while the Senators are 8-18-1-0 on the road. Lay the price with confidence, the play is the Kings!

Just a really great spot for the Islanders in this one. We don't mind laying chalk when we feel that our "play on" side could/should in fact be a much larger one. St. Louis is just 14-15-1-1 on the road, while New York is 14-8-6-3 at home. But the Blues are off a 2-1 shootout win at Philly just last night. Calgary has won five straight and we're expecting that winning run to continue for at least one more game here in this favorable revenge spot. Seattle is off a 2-1 loss at Edmonton. It beat Calgary 2-1 on the road back in late December, but note that the Flames are 4-1 in their last five in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent. With a game at Winnipeg tomorrow, we're expecting the visitors to get caught "looking ahead" as well. Lay the price with confidence, the play is indeed on Calgary!

Just a great overall situational play here. We feel that the Oilers could/should in fact be much larger favs in this spot. No need to overthink this one. Pittsburgh plays in Calgary on Saturday night and despite the result of that one, we're predicting a complete blowout for the home side here. The Oilers are Seattle on Saturday, but the home ice advantage will only work in Edmonton's favor here as well. These teams haven't played yet this season, but look for the Oilers to take advantage of this situation and to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night!

We base our selections on many different things. This one is a great "value" play overall. With a tough game at Edmonton tomorrow night, we believe the Penguins will classically get caught "looking ahead" here. Calgary has been playing great, winner of four straight.
