12-01-21 | Nebraska +6.5 v. NC State | 100-104 | Win | 100 | 5 h 54 m | Show

The one bad thing is that the Pack has covered just one game and that was last time out vs La Tech, 90-81, covering the 3.5-point line. The 6.5-points they are laying tonight is just too many to a good team like Nebraska. Take the dog here, play Nebraska. |

The Montana Grizzlies look to extend their current win and cover streak to four games tonight at PAC-12 opponent, Oregon. The Grizzlies started the season 1-2 but have since won three straight. That includes their last game at home over Southern Miss, 74-62 as a 7.5 point favorite. Oregon is just 3-3 S/U and 1-5 ATS on their season. The Ducks have lost two straight games to St Mary's (50-62) and then last game at home to Houston, 49-78. They have scored 50 points or fewer in three of their last four games. South Florida looks to keep its head above the .500 mark tonight as they take on Boston College. The Bulls are 3-2 S/U and 2-3 ATS on the season. This will be the first road game for the Bulls this season. This team has not scored well and that was all the games at home, as they average just 56.4 ppg. The good news is they haven't allowed much either at 54.2 ppg. They are coming off a win over Hampton, 58-52, but failed to cover the 10-point line. Boston College is 4-3 S/U and 3-4 ATS on the season. They are coming off a win at home over Columbia, 73-60, but failed to cover the 15.5-point favorite line. BC is 4-0 S/U and 2-2 ATS at home and out scoring their opponents by a 75.8 to 59 average on their home court. The Eagles are laying around 6-points here, give or take. I'll take the host in this one. Play Boston College. |
11-29-21 | Cornell +3.5 v. Canisius | 89-75 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
The Cornell Big Red is 4-1 S/U and a perfect 5-0 vs the number coming into tonight's contest at Canisius. The Big Red are coming off a win over St Francis-PA, 93-80 as a 2.5-pint favorite. They are 2-1 S/U and 3-0 ATS on the road this year and outscoring opponents 80-79.7 in the three away games. The Canisius Golden Griffins are just 2-4 S/U and 2-3 ATS this year. The Griffins are coming off a 76-75 win over Coppin St, but failed to cover the 10-point line. In their four losses, they have been outscored by at least nine points in each game. Getting a couple of points with Cornell here looks like a bargain to me. Play Cornell. |

The Fresno State Bulldogs look to remain perfect on the season as they put their 5-0 record on the line today at California. The Dogs are also 3-1 ATS in their four spread games. They are coming off a win at home vs Santa Clara, 59-52 as a 6-poing dog. The defense has been very good, holding all four teams to 63 points or fewer. The Cal Bears look to inch closer to the .500 mark as they come into today 2-4 S/U and 4-2 ATS. The Bears are coming off a loss at home to Seton Hall, 59-62, as a 12-point dog. I'm a bit surprised that Cal is a small home favorite here today against this Fresno team. I like Fresno to win again so I'll take the points. |
11-28-21 | Dayton v. Belmont -2.5 | 63-61 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 37 m | Show

The Belmont Bruins are 5-2 S/U and 4-3 ATS on the season. The Bruins have a 2-game win streak and are coming off a win over previously undefeated Iona, 72-65. I look at that last Dayton win as a emotional high for this team and that means they will come down here tonight. Take Belmont. |

They are coming off a loss at home to Northwestern, 62-78 as a 8-point dog. Wofford would love nothing better than to knock off a big school like Georgia here today. They did have one quality win so far this year and that was in their opening game against Michigan State, 87-74. The surprising Iona Gaels are 6-1 S/U and 4-2 ATS on the season. The Gaels are coming off their first s/u loss at home to Belmont, 65-72 as a 3.5-point dog. The Gaels have beat Alabama (72-68) and Liberty (54-50) among their best resume wins. They are coming off a win over The Citadel, 107-81, but failed to cover the 26.5-point line. Duke has been 21-point favorites over all their opponents except their opening win over Kentucky as a 3-point chalk. Now they face the best in the Zags. Gonzaga is also 6-0 S/U and 4-2 ATS. They are coming off a statement game at UCLA in which they jumped out to a big 1st half lead and never looked back in a 83-63 win as a 7-point favorite. The Zags are just too good and present a huge task tonight for Duke. I'll lay the points here at home with Gonzaga. |

The Hokies have yet to be a favorite of fewer than 11-points with four of their games 19-points or more. Now they are a dog against a much higher class opponent. I don't believe this Tech team is all that good and tonight should prove it. Play Memphis. |

Early action today from the Battle 4 Atlantis first round from Atlantic Paradise Island has Loyola Chicago taking on Michigan St. The Loyola Ramblers off to a fast start at 4-0 S/U and 2-2 S/U. The Ramblers have had a few days off before this tourney after beating Illinois Chicago on Saturday, 80-63. The Ramblers have been at least 18-point favorites in every game thus far. So today's 2.5- point dog line will come as a bit of shock to them. Then again, they are moving up in grade against Big 10 foe Michigan St. The Spartans are 3-1 S/U and ATS this season. They lost their opening game to Kansas 74-87 and since have beaten Western Michigan, Butler and Eastern Michigan, all by at least 19-points. Should be a great game, I'm going to take Loyola here though. |

The Delaware Blue Hens are 3-1 and after losing their opening game of the season to Davidson they have rattled off three straight wins. The Hens are 2-2 vs the number. 11-23-21 | George Mason +3.5 v. Nevada | 69-88 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 14 m | Show
The George Mason Patriots have looked pretty good to start the season at 4-2 S/U and ATS. They started 4-0 before dropping their last two games, including last night vs Washington, 74-77. Tonight, they play a team they would normally never play in Nevada. This game will be played in Sioux Falls, North Dakota. Nevada is still smarting from their defeat last night by South Dakota State, 75-102 as a 2.5-point dog. The Wolf pack opened the year with a win over Eastern Washington and have since dropped four straight games and are 1-3 vs the number in that span. Defense has been the issue, as they have allowed 73 or more points in all five games for an average allowed of 84.4 ppg. Now they have to lay around 5-points to a very good GM team? I don't think so, I'll take Mason and even look for an outright win. |
11-23-21 | Wisconsin v. Houston -7.5 | Top | 65-63 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 13 m | Show |
MAUI Invitational Second round action has the Wisconsin Badgers taking on the Houston Cougars. The Badgers beat the Texas A&M Aggies in the first round yesterday, 69-58 and covering the 3-point line. Wisconsin is now 3-1 S/U and 2-2 ATS on the season. The Badgers shooting has not been good, hitting over 40% from the field in just one of four games. The defense is good as it is always, holding opponents to just 53.3 ppg on the season. Houston had little trouble with Butler in the opening round, 70-52, covering the 10-point spread. The Cougars are 4-0 S/U and 3-1 ATS on the season. In fact, they have won their last games by 18 (Butler), 20 (Virginia) and 27 (Rice). All impressive wins. They are holding their opponents to just 55 ppg and scoring 74.8 ppg. Always tough in these tournaments playing back to back games as they are today. Houston is just too good on offense and almost equal on defense. I'll lay the points in what I believe won't be a close game. Play Houston. |
11-22-21 | Providence +1.5 v. Northwestern | 77-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
A pair of 4-0 teams meet tonight in the Legends Classic first round from Newark, NJ. Providence is not only 4-0 S/U but 2-2 vs the number. They are coming off a win over New Hampshire, 69-58 as a 13.5-point favorite. The Friars have shot 51% from the field or better in three of their four games. They have also held their opponents to 39% or less in three of four games. Northwestern is 4-0 S/U and 3-1 ATS. The Wildcats are coming off a win over Farleigh Dickinson, 82-46, as a 24.5-point favorite. They Cats have shot really well from 3-point arc, 33% or better in all games. Should be a great game, but I'll take the Friars in this one. Take Providence. |
11-22-21 | College of Charleston +16.5 v. Oklahoma State | 66-96 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 14 m | Show
The College of Charleston Cougars are 3-1 S/U and ATS as they head to Oklahoma State for tonight's contest. The Cougars are coming off their first loss of the season last time out against North Carolina, 83-94, but covered the 12.5-point dog line. The Cougars have outrebounded three of their four opponents so far. The Oklahoma State Cowboys are 4-1 S/U and 3-2 ATS so far. The Cowboys one loss came in a big upset by Oakland, 55-56 as a 17-point favorite. They are coming off a win in their last game over NC State, 74-68 as a 4.5-point favorite. The Cougars getting 16 points here should be enough for them to come in under that number. take the dog, play College of Charleston. |
11-22-21 | Harvard -4.5 v. Siena | 69-72 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 15 m | Show
The Harvard Crimson is 3-1 S/U and 2-0 ATS so far this season. They are coming off a win over MIT, 98-52. Their last board game was a win at Albany, 60-53 as a 6.5-point favorite. This might have been a nice test for the Crimson tonight, however Seina is 0-4 S/U and ATS on the season. The Saints are coming off a loss at Georgetown, 65-83 as 15.5-point dogs. They have yet to be a favorite in a game. Again here tonight, they are the dog on their home court to Harvard. This Siena team lost by 20 points at home to Delaware and I believe Harvard is better then they are. I'll lay the points with Harvard. |
11-22-21 | Ohio State v. Seton Hall -2 | 79-76 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 15 m | Show
Opening round of the Fort Myers Classic Beach Division here tonight has Ohio State taking on Seton Hall. Ohio State is 3-1 S/U and 1-3 ATS on the season. The Buckeyes are coming off their first loss of the year at Xavier, 65-71 as a 2.5-point favorite. The Buckeyes had their worst shooting performance as they hit just 37.7% from the field and had eight fewer rebounds. Seton Hall is 3-0 S/U and ATS to start the season. The Pirates are coming off a huge win over Michigan, 67-65 as a 8-point road dog. The Pirates look to be the real deal and I look for them to beat their second straight Big-10 team here tonight. Play Seton Hall. |
11-21-21 | Villanova +3.5 v. Purdue | 74-80 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 5 m | Show
Hall of Fame Basketball Tip off Finals today from Uncasville, CT has 3-1 Villanova taking on 4-0 Purdue for the crown of this tourney. Villanova could easily be 4-0 if they didn't collapse at the end of their game at UCLA back on Nov 12 and then lose in OT. Still, the Cats are 3-1 S/U and 2-2 ATS. Purude does come into this final undefeated at 4-0 S/U and 3-1 ATS on the season. They are coming off a win over North Carolina, 93-84. They also have wins over Wright St, Indiana St and Bellarmine. The Boilermakers have scored at least 90 points in all four games. This looks to be one of the best games of the day with two top 10 ranked teams facing off. I'll take the couple of points though. Take Villanova. |
11-20-21 | UC San Diego -3.5 v. CS Sacramento | 71-56 | Win | 100 | 11 h 53 m | Show
San Diego comes into today's contest with a 3-0 S/U and 2-0 ATS record. They are coming off a win over SD Christian, 97-60. They have a big win over Cal on opening night, 80-67 as a 14.5-point dog. Then they came right back with another big win over George Washington, 75-55 as a 1-point dog. Sacramento State is 2-1 S/U and 1-1 ATS on the season. They opened with a win over William Jessup, 89-59 and then lost at Utah, 56-89 as a 18.5-point dog. They came back on Monday with a win over Cal Poly SLO, 58-57 as a 5-point dog. San Diego is outscoring their opponents by a 84-60.7 margin. San Diego right now looks to be much better with bigger wins on its resume. I'll take the visitor in this one and lay the points. Play San Diego. |
11-19-21 | Florida International -5 v. Green Bay | 63-60 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 44 m | Show
The Florida International Golden Panthers are 2-1 S/U and 1-1 ATS after three games. The Panthers are coming off a win and cover over Ball State, 73-60 as a 1.5-point favorite. They also played Georgia, losing 51-58 as a 6.5-point dog, narrowly missing the cover. They play a Wisconsin Green Bay Phoenix team that is still looking for their first win of the season against three losses. The Phoenix lost to Indiana State in their opener, 77-81 as a 2.5-point dog. Then lost at Wiscosin, 34-72 as a 21-point dog and then lost last time out to UNC Greensboro, 58-60, but covering the 10-point dog line. This is not a very good Green Bay team and today they will find it difficult to get that first win against a very good FIU club. Play FIU. |
11-19-21 | Marquette +5 v. West Virginia | 82-71 | Win | 100 | 6 h 44 m | Show
College tournament action here today as the Marquette Golden Eagles look good out the gate with a 4-0 S/U and 2-2 ATS mark. The Eagles have won and covered the least two games against ranked Illinois, 67-66 as a 8-point dog and then over Ole Miss, 78-72 as a 3.5-point dog. The will face a 3-0 West Virginia team here today. The Mountaineers opened with a win over Oakland, 60-53 as a 17.5-point favorite, then beat Pitt 74-59 as a 17-point favorite and then last game beat Elon, 87-68 as a 14-point favorite. This will be the first game for WVA away from home. Marquette getting 5.5-points here today. I'll take that on a neutral court. |
11-19-21 | Weber State -9.5 v. Ball State | 85-74 | Win | 100 | 4 h 13 m | Show
Weber State Wildcats are 3-0 S/U and 2-0 ATS to start their season. They opened with a win over Western St College and then had two nice wins over Duquesne, 63-59 and then last game over U Mass, 88-73. Ball State is just 1-2 S/U and 0-3 to start their season. They opened with a loss at GA Southern, 71-82, then lost at home to Neb-Omaha and Fla Intl, failing to cover all three spreads. Ball State is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Friday games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 overall games. They are also 4-11 ATS in their last 15 as a dog. Weber is 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games overall and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 as a favorite. I'll lay the points here with Weber State. |
11-19-21 | Bradley v. Colorado State -13 | 60-66 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 46 m | Show
The Bradley Braves are 1-2 S/U and 0-2 ATS to start the season. They opened with losses to South Dakota State, 65-81 as 9-point dog, then to Howard, 64-76 as a 12.5 point favorite. They won last time out vs Missouri S&T, 92-66. Colorado State is 3-0 S/U and 1-0 ATS to start their season. They opened with a win and cover over Oral Roberts, 109-80, then beat Arkansas Pine Bluff, 91-71 and last game over Peru State, 88-62. CSU has dominated all three games this season and looked stacked with returning players including on one of the best in the Mountain West, Isaiah Stevens. Bradley won't stand much of a shot against this high scoring CSU team today. Play Colorado State. |
11-18-21 | Marquette +3.5 v. Ole Miss | 78-72 | Win | 100 | 7 h 49 m | Show
Shriner's Children Classic opening round here today. The Marquette Golden Eagles are off to a fast 3-0 start. They opened with a win over SIU Edwardsville, 88-77, losing to the 21-point number. Then they beat New Hampshire, again failing to cover the 12.5 point line. Finally, last game out they beat No 10 ranked Illinois, 67-66 and covered as a 8-point dog. The Ole Miss Rebels are 2-0 S/U and 1-1 ATS. They opened with a win over New Orleans, 82-61, but failed to cover the 23-point line. Last game they won and covered against Charleston Southern, 93-68. Marquette coming off that amazing win over highly ranked Illinois. On a neutral floor I'm sticking with Marquette. |
11-17-21 | Arkansas-Little Rock +13.5 v. Loyola Marymount | 63-82 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 53 m | Show
The Arkansas Little Rock Trojans are 3-0 S/U to start the season and 1-0 AS. The Trojans are coming off a win over Arkansas Baptist, 91-60 and Champion Baptist before that, 115-51. Their one test was a narrow win over Southern Illinois, 69-66 as a 6.5-point dog. The Loyola Marymount Lions are 1-1 after losing to UT Chattanooga to open the season 64-75 as a 7-point favorite. They are coming off a win over Arizona Christian, 75-67. Neither outing very impressive for this Lions team. I'll take the visitor here tonight. Play Arkansas Little Rock. |
11-17-21 | George Mason +9.5 v. Maryland | 71-66 | Win | 100 | 6 h 53 m | Show
A pair of 3-0 teams meet here tonight as Maryland hosts George Mason. The George Mason Patriots are not only 3-0 but have covered all three spreads. They opened with a win over Stony Brook, 74-52, then beat Penn, 87-66 and last game over Morgan State, 90-53. The Patriots have shot at least 50% from the field in each game and over 45% from the 3-point line in their last two games. Maryland is also 3-0, but just 1-2 vs the number. They are coming off a win over Vermont, 68-57, just covering the 9-point line. Unlike Mason, they have shot 36.7% vs Vermont and 37.5% vs George Washington. They play a very good George Mason team here today and are laying right around 10-points. Their field goal shooting has me concerned though. I'll take the points in this one. Play George Mason. |
11-17-21 | Drexel -1 v. St. Joe's | 78-75 | Win | 100 | 6 h 52 m | Show
The Drexel Dragons are 1-1 beating Neumann College 103-74 and then losing last game at Syracuse, 60-75 as a 15.5-point dog. Syracuse shot great from the field, 55.6% and 50% from 3-point arc. St Josephs Hawks are 2-0 coming into tonight. The Hawks have two softball wins on their resume, 69-67 over Maryland Eastern Shore and 80-60 over Mount St Marys. They covered against St Marys but didn't against Eastern Shore. The latter a 24.5-point favorite and they won the game by just 2-points. Can't put a lot of stock in St Joe's early wins, especially the one they were 24.5-point favorites. This is a team that was 5-15 last year and 11-41 in the two years under HC Billy Lange. Drexel made the NCAA last year and have Wynter back this year. I'll take Drexel here tonight. |
11-16-21 | Seton Hall +8.5 v. Michigan | 67-65 | Win | 100 | 6 h 6 m | Show
The Seton Hall Pirates put their perfect 2-0 record on the line as they travel to Big 10 Powerhouse Michigan tonight. The Pirates have had an easy go of it thus far with blowout wins over Fairleight Dickinson, 93-49 and then Yale, 80-44. They are also 2-0 ATS in those two games. The test comes tonight at Michigan. The 4th ranked Wolverines are also 2-0 S/U and 1-1 ATS. They beat Buffalo to open the season, 88-76, but just failed to cover the 12.5-point line. Last game they won easily against Prairie View A&M, 77-49 as a 23.5-point favorite. The Pirates should be taken lightly as they rank 35th in the Kenpom power rankings. This Pirates team also has experience and depth which they will need tonight. The Pirates will be able to run bodies in and out of the game and I fully expect them to hang with the Wolverines. Play Seton Hall. |
11-16-21 | St. Louis v. Memphis -10.5 | Top | 74-90 | Win | 100 | 7 h 31 m | Show |
The St Louis Billikens are 3-0 to start their season and 2-0 ATS. They haven't really played anyone of significance yet with wins over Central Arkansas, Harris Stowe and their last game over Eastern Illinois, 86-44 as a 21-point favorite. The will face the 11th ranked Memphis Tigers tonight who are 2-0 S/U and 1-1 ATS on the season. The Tigers opened with a win over Tennessee Tech and then last time out beat NC Central, 90-51 as a 28.5-point favorite. St Louis Freshman Gibson Jimerson has been a early bright star, averaging 18.7 ppg through the first 3 contests. Memphis has aspirations of a long trip through the NCAA's this year. This Tigers teams is expected to be one of the best defensive teams in the nation this year. This Memphis team looks to be a early favorite in the country to win and win big. Yes, St Louis is undefeated, however they haven't faced a dynamic team like Memphis yet. This is just too much quality for the Billikens. Play Memphis. |
11-16-21 | Austin Peay v. IUPU Ft Wayne -7 | 60-65 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 31 m | Show
The Austin Peay GOvernors take their 1-1 record on the road to Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne here tonight. The Governors opened the season with a slim win over Martin Methodist, 86-79. They were outshot from both the field and 3-point line in that contest. Last time out they went to Southern Illinois and lost badly, 55-73 as a 13.5-point dog, again getting outshot 39% to 57%. The defense has been horrible thus far and if they hope to compete tonight they will have to improve. IUPU-Fort Wayne is 1-0 after beating a overwhelmed Earlham College, 103-54. This will be their first real test tonight for the Mastodons. Austin Peay is 0-6 ATS in their last six road games while the Mastodons are 4-1 ATS overall their last five games. I don't like this Austin Peay defense, even against a poor opponent they played poorly. I'll lay the points tonight with Fort Wayne even though they only have one game played. Play IUPFW |
11-15-21 | Furman v. Belmont -6 | 89-95 | Push | 0 | 8 h 14 m | Show
The Furman Paladins bring a 2-0 record into this evenings contest at Belmont. The Palidins pulled off the big upset win in their last game over Louisville in OT, 80-72. This followed their win over NCU-Greenville, 118-66. Furman shot 42.9% from three-point arc vs Louisville and held the Cardinals to just 36.2% overall shooting and 24.1% 3-point shooting. The Belmont Bruins are 1-1 to start the season. They lost their opener to Ohio U, 80-92 as a 4-point home favorite. Then followed with a win over Evansville, 81-43 as a 14-point favorite. Furman is only 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games and 0-8 ATS in their last eight game after a ATS win. Have to throw out that NCU Greenville game as everyone scores 100+ against that team. The Louisville win was a resume builder, but the fact that the Cardinals were just horrible and still forced OT is something to think about. I don't like Furman on the road and Belmont will build on their last win. Play Belmont. |
11-14-21 | Idaho State +4 v. Seattle University | 51-77 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 28 m | Show
11-13-21 | Texas +7.5 v. Gonzaga | 74-86 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 32 m | Show
Battle of ranked teams here as No 5 Texas takes on top Ranked Gonzaga from the Great Northwest tonight. Texas gets the opportunity to show just how good they are tonight against the nation's top ranked team. If there is a game that Texas can catch Gonzaga sleeping a bit, this is the one early in the season. This Texas team is excellent on defense and they will need it against one of the best scoring teams in the nation. This early, I'll take a good defensive team like Texas in this spot. Take the points. |
11-13-21 | UTEP +7.5 v. New Mexico State | 71-77 | Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show
Rivalry game here tonight in the I-10 Battle has UTEP taking on New Mexico State from Las Cruces. UTEP opened the season with a win over Western New Mexico, 85-57. New Mexcico State also opened with a win over UC Irvine 62-51. UTEP has a new coach in Joe Golding. Golding led led Abilene Christian to a NCAA tournament last year. NM State always a good defensive team, it's on offense they need to find more points. They averaged just 71.1 ppg last year. The Aggies return three starters, but also lost some bench production too. I like this new coach for UTEP and will take the points with his new team tonight. Play UTEP. |
11-12-21 | Villanova +3.5 v. UCLA | 77-86 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 16 m | Show
UCLA gets tested early as they host Villanova at Pauley Pavillion tonight. Both these teams are ranked in the top 5 in the country. Villanova opened with an easy winner over Mount St Mary's, 91-51 while UCLA had little trouble with Cal Bakersfield, 95-58. Villanova lost leading scorer Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to graduation but return plenty of talent on this team. UCLA is one of the best shooting teams in the nation. They are also one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the nation. They hit on 13-of-27 from three point land vs Bakersfield. This will be a high scoring affair tonight as both teams can shoot lights out. I'll take the dog in this one. Play Villanova. |
11-12-21 | UL - Lafayette -3 v. Southern Miss | 66-45 | Win | 100 | 6 h 24 m | Show
Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns opened their season on Tuesday with a win at home over West Florida, 81-47. The defense was outstanding, holding West Florida to just 27.3% from the field an 21.1% from 3-point arc. The Ragin' Cagins his 47.9% from the field though they need to improve on free throws, hitting just 45.5%. The play at Southern Miss tonight. The Golden Eagles got a win on Tuesday at home over William Carey, 81-57. One big problem for the Eagles is they got outrebounded 43-76. My numbers tonight show ULL a bigger favorite then what he have right now. I'll take ULL against a Southern Miss team that doesn't look to have a very good season. Play ULL |
11-12-21 | Northern Colorado -2.5 v. Hawaii | 81-78 | Win | 100 | 8 h 8 m | Show
Both these play their second games of the season tonight in Hawaii as the Warrior Rainbows host the Northern Colorado Bears. On Wednesday, the Bears beat Pacific, 67-65 and Hawaii beat Hawaii-Hilo, 97-67. No Colorado finished last year at 11-11 (6-8 in conference). Hawaii has had a winning record in each of their last five seasons, but that might a tall hill to climb this year as they will be without their top two scorers from last year in Justin Webster and James Jean-Marie. Both those players transferred out of Hawaii after last season. NO Colorado has all it's top players back from last year. Both teams will have to see about conditioning after playing last night. I am taking Northern Colorado as they have more returning talent back this year. |
11-11-21 | Air Force +8 v. South Dakota | 53-59 | Win | 100 | 4 h 37 m | Show
Early action here on the Thursday college hard court as Air Force takes on South Dakota. This non-conference game opens the season for both teams. Air Force was just 5-20 in Joe Scott's first year as head coach. South Dakota was 14-11 last year and lost in the Summit League semi-finals to North Dakota State. These clubs have met two times in the past with Air Force taking both those games. Air Force is not known for offense as they play a ball-control game with lots of movement. South Dakota is the better team here, but if Air Force can play their normal ball control and keep the score lower, they will cover this spread. Play Air Force. |
11-10-21 | William & Mary v. Wake Forest -15 | 59-77 | Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show
William & Mary Tribe play their opening game of the season on the road tonight at Wake Forest. The Tribe are coming off a 7-10 season and 4-6 conference mark. Wake also coming off a poor season that saw the Demon Deacons go 6-16 overall. Will & Mary returns four starters and added senior Brandon Carrol who averaged 11.3 ppg last year for Florida Southern. The Tribe will need to improve on their three-point shots as they ranked 291st in the nation from beyond the arc last year. Wake had to endure a full month off between games last year due to Covid. That can put a hinder into anyone's game. The roster has nine new players, which could be good after such a dismal season last year. They do return Davien Williamson who averaged 12.9 ppg last year. Don't know what to fully expect from this Wake team yet, but I'm going to take them here tonight against a William & Mary team that returns players but to a losing team. Take Wake Forest. |
11-09-21 | Towson -2 v. Albany | 77-56 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show
First meeting ever between these basketball teams. Albany Great Danes are led by Antonio Rizzuto who was the America East All Defensive team player. Albany has a new coaching staff and really a new team with nine new players suiting up for the purple and gold. Not a lot to go with here in opening games but Alabany looks to be a team that will take time for both coaches and players to get used to each other. I'm going to take Towson here on opening night. |
11-09-21 | Southern Illinois -5.5 v. Arkansas-Little Rock | 66-69 | Loss | -111 | 5 h 12 m | Show
Full schedule of action today to tip-off College Hoops season. Tonight, Southern Illinois Salukis take on the Little Rock Arkansas Trojans. SIU was 12-14 last season while Little Rock was 11-15. SIU started 7-0 last year in non-conference games but then faltered once they got into conference. I look for the Salukis to be much improved this year in a conference that is crowded with some good teams. They have 2020 Freshman of the Year Marcus Domask back and a very good backcourt. Look for this version of the SIU team to be a lot better. Play Southern Illinois. |
04-05-21 | Baylor v. Gonzaga -4 | 86-70 | Loss | -118 | 30 h 5 m | Show
Both these teams advanced to the NCAA Championship game on different paths. The Baylor Bears had little trouble with their intra-state rivals, Houston, winning in a never close game, 78-59. Gonzaga took a much more exciting route, beating UCLA in OT 93-90. This game was close the entire way and it looked like we were headed to Double OT as UCLA made a basket with just over three seconds left. However, a nearly half court 3-points banked in and the Zags advanced to the title game here today. Baylor has more offensive weapons then UCLA and likes an up-tempo pace, as does Gonzaga. I've been high on the Zags all season and I don't see any reason to let the UCLA dissuade me. Take the Zags here on Monday. |
04-03-21 | UCLA +14.5 v. Gonzaga | Top | 90-93 | Win | 100 | 48 h 19 m | Show |
Lets face it, this NCAA Tournament is Gonzaga's to lose. They are by far the best team in this tournament, winning every game by double digits and making them look easy. Now come UCLA, who has been lucky to win some OT and close games going back to the PAC-12 and NCAA tourneys. My feeling here is that Gonzaga will destroy this UCLA club as they have everyone else. No reason to look at numbers or anything else, just taking Gonzaga. |
03-29-21 | Oregon State +8 v. Houston | Top | 61-67 | Win | 100 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
Midwest Regional Final has Oregon State taking on Houston. Oregon State the surprise team left in the tournament as they got red-hot right at Conference tourney time. Oregon State has won six straight games and covered all six. They held Loyola Chicago to just 58 and Tennessee to 56 in their three NCAA tourney games. Houston has also slowed the pace of late, going under in their last two NCAA tourney games, holding Syracuse to just 46 points on Saturday and Rutgers to 60 in their game before. One thing has been evident in this NCAA tournament, 3-point shot making percentage has dropped significantly. Normally around the 30% mark or more, we've been seeing 20% of shots dropping from 3-point. Oregon State hit 21.7% against Loyola Chicago and then 27.7% against Oklahoma State and 19.2% vs Tennessee. Houston, which has seen numbers in the 40% ranges, hit just 21.7% against Syracuse, resulting int their 62-46 win. Seems like teams are getting better at defending the 3-point shot and that has resulted in lower scoring games. With a lower score expected here, the points become critical. I'll take the dog points with the PAC 12 teams doing so well. Play Oregon St. |

03-28-21 | UCLA v. Alabama -6.5 | 88-78 | Loss | -102 | 8 h 9 m | Show
UCLA and Alabama face off today in the NCAA Tourney East Regional Semifinals. UCLA was an early exit in the PAC-12 tourney, losing to Oregon State in their first game, 79-83 in OT. It's been a different story here in the NCAA tourney, beating Michigan State in OT, 86-80, then BYU, 73-62 and Abilene Christian 67-47 last game. Now they face a very good Alabama team. The Crimson Tide won the SEC tournament and have now won eight straight games and 11 of their last 12. They are coming off a big win over Maryland, 96-77. This might be the best team UCLA has had to face in some time. I like the Tide here to cover and move on. Play Alabama. |
03-28-21 | Creighton v. Gonzaga -13 | Top | 65-83 | Win | 100 | 36 h 15 m | Show |
Creighton bounced back from their Big East conference blowout loss to Georgetown with a pair of wins here in the NCAA. They just go bye Cal Santa Barbara, 63-62 and then easily beat Ohio U, 72-58. Now they have the arduous task of facing No 1 see Gonzaga. Gonzaga is 29-0 on the season and has rolled through the first two rounds of the NCAA with wins over Norfolk, 98-55 and then Oklahoma, 87-71, covering both. Gonzaga laying around 13 looks like a gift to me. I'll take them here today. Play Gonzaga. |
03-28-21 | Mississippi State v. Memphis -4.5 | 64-77 | Win | 100 | 2 h 40 m | Show
NIT Championship game has Mississippi State taking on Memphis for the Title. Miss State Bulldogs got here with wins over St Louis, Richmond and Louisiana Tech. They covered two of those three games, missing the cover over Richmond. Memphis has NIT wins over Dayton, Boise State and Colorado State. The latter was a blowout winner, 90-67. Memphis has covered eight of their last nine games. I look for the Tigers to take the title today and get the cover. Play Memphis. |
03-27-21 | Syracuse +6.5 v. Houston | 46-62 | Loss | -102 | 20 h 5 m | Show
Syracuse has won both of its NCAA games as dogs with wins over San Diego State, 78-62 and then West Virginia, 75-72. The Orange have now covered six straight games. Today they face Houston as a 6.5 point dog. Houston has now won nine straight games. During that span they are 6-3 ATS. The Cougars had a rough outing last time, just getting by Rutgers 63-60 as a 7.5 point favorite. Syracuse won't want to get into a scoring contest here today. Rather I look for them to slow things down as Rutgers did. I'm going to take the dog here with Syracuse. |
03-27-21 | Oral Roberts +11.5 v. Arkansas | 70-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Oral Roberts looking to continue its Cinderella run in the NCAA with their game against Arkansas today. Oral Roberts boasts the nation's leading scorer in Max Abmas. The lightly recruited star is the sparkplug behind OR run here in the postseason. The team has now won seven straight games and covered six of those. Arkansas had its hands full with Texas Tech in the last round, winning 68-66 as a 2-point dog. That came after an easy win over Colgate, 85-68 in round one. I believe in fairy tale stories and I'm going to ride this one another round. Play Oral Roberts. |
03-25-21 | Boise State v. Memphis -4 | Top | 56-59 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
NIT Quarterfinal action has Boise State taking on Memphis tonight. Boise lost in the Mountain West tourney to Nevada, 82-89. They bounced back in the opening round of the NIT with a win over SMU, 85-84, covering the 1-point dog line. Still, the Broncos are just 5-6 ATS in their last 11 games. They have also won just one of their last five games. Memphis lost in the American Athletic Tourney to a very good Houston team, 74-76, covering the 7-point dog line. It was the team's seventh cover in a row. They are also 8-2 S/U over their last 10 games. Memphis playing the better here between these two teams. Play Memphis. |
03-25-21 | NC State -1.5 v. Colorado State | 61-65 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 26 m | Show
NC State Wolfpack had a nice run to finis the season, going 6-1 over their last seven. Unfortunately, the one loss came in their conference tourney to Syracuse, 68-89. The Pack opened NIT action with a easy win over Davidson, 75-61 as a 2-point dog. Colorado State lost in the Mountain West tourney to Utah State, 50-62 as a 4.5-point dog. The Rams are 2-2 S/U and 1-2-1 ATS over their last four games. Close line here with the Pack now a small favorite. I like NC State coming from the tougher Atlantic Coast conference. Play NC State. |
03-24-21 | Coastal Carolina +5 v. Pepperdine | Top | 61-84 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Coastal Carolina had to go to OT last night to get the exciting win over Stetson, though they failed to cover the spread. The Chanticleers came an OT away from the NCAA tournament after losing to App State. Pepperdine advanced with a win over Bellarmine on Tuesday, 82-71. Hard to dismiss the fact that Carolina came so close to the NCAA tournament - and that wasn't by accident. This is a very good team. Pepperdine is average, but one can argue they played the likes of St Marys and Gonzaga all season. Still, I'm going to take the points with the dog in this one. Play Coastal Carolina. |
03-23-21 | Pepperdine v. Bellarmine +4.5 | 82-71 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 55 m | Show
CBI Semifinals has Pepperdine Waves of the WCC taking on Bellarmine Knights of the ASUN conference. Pepperdine is 13-12 after beating Longwood in their last CBI game, 80-66. Beallarmine is 14-7 after beating Army, 77-67. The Knights trailed by 9-points at one time, 40-31, but used a big 2nd half to rally for the win. Bellarmine isn't very good defensively, but they have a very good offense. Pepperdine really hasn't been a very good team all season, as they have hovered right around the .500 mark all year. Edges here go to Bellarmine in shooting and experience. Add to the fact that Bellarmine is playing its first year at the division 1 level and they will be out to prove something here tonight. Take Bellarmine. |
03-22-21 | LSU +5 v. Michigan | 78-86 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 12 m | Show
The LSU Tigers opened NCAA tournament Round one play with a big win over St Bonaventure, 79-61, as 2-point favorite. The win took the bitterness out of their one-point SEC Championship game loss to Alabama. The Tigers have now covered six straight game and eight of the last 10. Michigan looks to continue in on the tournament today. The Wolverines have 21 wins, after beating Texas Southern in round one, 82-66. Though they failed to cover the 25-point favorite line. It was their second spread loss in a row and third in their last four game. Michigan around a 5.5-point favorite here today. I'll take the points against a team that has struggled to cover spreads. Play LSU. |
03-22-21 | Ohio +6 v. Creighton | Top | 58-72 | Loss | -109 | 30 h 3 m | Show |
Ohio pulled a big upset win on Saturday, beating Virginia 62-58 as a 6-point dog. Creighton had all it could handle in round one just getting past Cal Santa Barbara, 63-62 as a 7-point favorite. Creighton trailed Santa Barbara by as many as eight points in the first half and were down by six with just 5:30 left to play in the game. The Blue Jays have failed to cover their last two games and four of their last seven. The Ohio defense made a big stand on Saturday, holding Virginia without a field goal for 10:09 seconds of the 2nd half. Creighton has been inconsistent this year and underachieving most of the season. The Ohio Bobcats look like they are primed for another straight up win as a dog. Play Ohio. |
03-22-21 | Abilene Christian v. UCLA -4.5 | 47-67 | Win | 100 | 15 h 18 m | Show
Abilene Christian pulled what could be the 2nd biggest shocker in round one with their win over Texas, 53-52. It was the team's fifth win in a row and 13th in their last 14. They have also covered five in a row and eight of the last nine. Still. this is a Southland Conference team that lost early in the season to Texas Tech, 44-51 and to Arkansas, 72-85. UCLA looks to burst their bubble here today. The Bruins beat Michigan State in the first four, 86-80 in OT and then beat BYU in round one, 73-62. The PAC 12 is doing very well with USC and Oregon State both looking strong. I like the PAC-12 team here over a Southland club. Play UCLA. |
03-21-21 | Oregon State +6.5 v. Oklahoma State | 80-70 | Win | 100 | 14 h 11 m | Show
Oregon State shocked the PAC-12 by winning all three conference tourney games to get the automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. Many thought they didn't deserve it, but they opened round win with a resounding win over a 9-point favored Tennessee team, 70-56. It was the Beavers' fourth cover in a row and 11th in their last 12 games. Oklahoma State lost in the Big 12 Conference championship game to Texas, 86-91. They still got the at-large bid to the NCAA and they opened with a closer than expected win over Liberty, 69-70. Liberty led at the half, 30-27, but Ok State rallied late to not only get the win but the cover. There's something to be said for a team that gets hot at the right time. That is what we are seeing with Oregon State. I'll take the points here today with the Beavers. Play Oregon State. |
03-21-21 | Oral Roberts +8.5 v. Florida | 81-78 | Win | 100 | 12 h 59 m | Show
Oral Roberts is making believers out of everyone after they pulled off the shocker of the first round by beating Ohio State, 75-72 in OT as a 15-point dog. This Oral Roberts team looks real though after winning six straight games and covering five of those. They boast the nation's leading scorer in Max Abmas, who averaged 24.2 ppg. Oh, and Abmas only played all 45 minutes of that win over Ohio State. Abmas was the Summit League Player of the Year. He's also the only player in the NCAA to have multiple 40-point games this season. Florida also had to go to OT in their first NCAA game, beating Virginia Tech 75-70 as a 1.5 point dog. Florida has not been a very good covering team, with a 1-4 ATS mark their last five and 3-7 their last 10. I'm going to stick with this red-hot Oral Roberts team and the leading scorer in the country. Play Oral Roberts. |
03-21-21 | Syracuse +4.5 v. West Virginia | 75-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Syracuse won their opening game in the NCAA tournament with a win over Mountain West Champ, San Diego State 78-62 as a 3-point dog. The Orange have now won four of their last five and covered all five. West Virginia lost their conference tourney opener to Oklahoma State, 69-72, but still got an at large bid thanks to their 18 wins. They opened NCAA with a win over a very good Morehead State team, 85-67 with Morehead never in the contest. Still, the Mountaineers have covered just one of their last five games. These teams have actually met five times with the dog taking four of those games vs the number. My own number has WVU about a one-point favorite while the oddsmaker has them around four points. I'll take the dog here today. Play Syracuse. |
03-20-21 | Ohio +7 v. Virginia | Top | 62-58 | Win | 100 | 20 h 48 m | Show |
There is something to be said for getting hot at the right time. That's the case for this Ohio Bobcats team. The Cats were 4th in the MAC East but got to the NCAA tournament by winning nine of their last 10 games including all of their MAC tourney games. They were one of the better scoring teams in the nation, with around 80 ppg average. This Ohio team loves to run up and down the court and is an excellent passing team. Now they face one of the best defensive teams in the nation in Virginia. The problem for Virginia is that it had an undisclosed player test positive for Covid. That's a tourney ender for most teams. However, they have quarantined and if they had at least five players test negative for seven consecutive days they would be allowed to play. The Cavs look like they have passed that hurdle. Problem is they can't practice until they pass that protocol. Sure, they will be rested, but will they be game ready here today? I'm taking this hot Ohio team that has been shooting lights out against this Virginia team that frankly might not be ready to play. Take Ohio. |
03-20-21 | Iona +17 v. Alabama | 55-68 | Win | 100 | 17 h 34 m | Show
Iona got the NCAA bid by sweeping its Metro Atlantic Conference Tournament, beating Quinnipiac, Siena, Niagara and then Fairfield in the Championship game, 70-64. It was Iona's sixth win in eight games and 10th in their last 12 games. They have also gone 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 games. Alabama has had a fine season with a 24-6 S/U and 17-12 ATS record. The Tide won the SEC tournament with a one point win over LSU in the final, 80-79, failing to cover the 6-point spread. The Tide have been fair at covering, going 4-4 ATS in their last eight games. Tide laying 17 points here today is just too much in my opinion. I already had one big upset winner with Friday's Oral Roberts outright win. Let's see if Iona can make it another shocker. Play Iona. |
03-20-21 | UC-Santa Barbara +7.5 v. Creighton | 62-63 | Win | 100 | 16 h 3 m | Show
Cal Santa Barbara comes into this NCAA tourney with a 20-4 S/U record and 14-10 spread mark. The Gouchos swept their Big West tourney with three wins, including the championship game over UC Irvine, 79-63. Their only loss dating back to December came on Feb 27 against UC Riverside, 52-68. They will face a Creighton team that was absolutely demolished in the Big East Championship by Georgetown, 48-73. The Blue Jays fell behind early and never came close the rest of the way. They have now lost three of their last six games both S/U and ATS. This Creighton team has been very inconsistent this season. Not so for Santa Barbara who has had little problems. I'll take the points here and not be surprised if Creighton struggles again. Play Santa Barbara. |
03-20-21 | Georgetown +6 v. Colorado | 73-96 | Loss | -104 | 13 h 48 m | Show
If there is one team that has Cinderella written all over it, it is Georgetown. This Patrick Ewing led team shocked the Big East by taking the tournament despite going into the tourney with a 8-13 record. Four wins later, including that wipeout of Creighton in the finals, 73-48, and here they are at the big dance. Not much you can say about this team other than they are redhot and have nothing to lose. Sometimes a team with nothing to lose are the most dangerous teams. You know that 22-9 Colorado will be constantly reminded of this by their coaching staff. The Buffaloes are a 6 or 6 1/2 point favorite and have all the pressure on their shoulders. I'm going to stick with the Cinderella team and take the points here. My Shocker play here on Friday. |
03-19-21 | Winthrop +6.5 v. Villanova | Top | 63-73 | Loss | -108 | 37 h 14 m | Show |
NCAA First Round action here has Winthrop taking on Villanova. Winthrop didn't have to win a conference tournament, rather winning their regular season crown is what got them into the NCAA tourney. Winthrop was 24-1 S/U and 14-11 ATS on the season. They had little trouble in the Big South conference, lsoing just to UNC Asheville back on Jan 29th, 55-57 as their lone setback. Villanova was a victim of the Georgetown freight train that bullied through the Big East. The Cats lost their last two games and three of their last four. In addition they are covered just one of those last four. Winthrop getting around 6 points here on Friday. I believe Winthrop has a very good chance to win this game straight-up. Play Winthrop. |
03-19-21 | Syracuse +3 v. San Diego State | 78-62 | Win | 100 | 37 h 59 m | Show
The Syracuse Orange of the ACC takes on the Mountain West Conference Champion, San Diego State. Syracuse beat NC State in the ACC tournament, 89-68 before losing to Virginia, 69-72. The Orange did cover their last four games. San Diego State finished 22-4 on the season with a 14-12 spread record. The Aztecs had a scare by Wyoming in the first round, then beat Nevada 77-70 and finally Utah State for the Championship, 68-57. They only covered one of their final five games. I like the Big East conference teams over this Mountain West Conference. I'll take the points and look for Syracuse to win outright. Play Syracuse. |
03-19-21 | Rutgers v. Clemson +1.5 | 60-56 | Loss | -104 | 37 h 38 m | Show
Two evenly matched teams on paper meet here in the NCAA first round. Rutgers Scarlet Knights are 14-1 S/U and 13-13 ATS on the season. Clemson is 16-7 S/U and 11-11 ATS on their season. Rutgers beat Indiana in their opening Big 10 game, but lost in the quarterfinals to Illinois, 68-90. The Knights have lost six of their last nine games. They are also 2-4 ATS in their last six games. Clemson lost in the opening round of the ACC tournament to Miami-Florida, 64-67. They still are 6-2 S/U and 4-4 ATS in their last eight games. Rutgers a small favorite here on Friday. My own numbers have Clemson the small favorite. I will be on the Tigers today. Play Clemson. |
03-19-21 | Liberty +7.5 v. Oklahoma State | 60-69 | Loss | -105 | 34 h 54 m | Show
Atlantic Sun Conference Tourney Champ Liberty gets to take on the Big 12's Oklahoma State. Liberty finished 20-5 S/U and 15-8 ATS on the season. They won their last 11 games and covered six of their last eight games. Liberty beat North Alabama in the Championship game, 79-75, but failed to cover the 13.5 point favorite line. Oklahoma State finished at 20-8 S/U and 16-10 ATS on the season. The Cowboys lost in the tourney to Texas, 86-91 after beating West Virginia and Baylor. Liberty has looked fairly impressive this year and is worth a dog shot in the first round getting 7 or 7.5 points. Play Liberty. |
03-19-21 | Oral Roberts +16.5 v. Ohio State | 75-72 | Win | 100 | 30 h 18 m | Show
Oral Roberts survived the Summit League conference tournament by winning three straight games to claim the crown and the automatic NCAA bid. Oral Roberts got hot at the end of the season, winning five straight games and going 4-1 ATS. They finished just 13-10 S/U and 14-9 ATS on the season. Ohio State came up a bit short in the Big 10 Championship game, losing in OT to Illinois, 88-91. They did cover three of the four games in the Big 10 tourney. Despite getting in, they are just 3-4 S/U and ATS in their last seven games. Ohio State laying 16.5 points here today and for me that's just too many by a team that is 3-4 in their last seven games. Play Oral Roberts. |
03-19-21 | Utah State v. Texas Tech -4 | 53-65 | Win | 100 | 29 h 3 m | Show
Utah State advanced to the NCAA from the Mountain West conference despite losing in the Championship game to San Diego State, 57-68. The Aggies finished 19-8 S/U and 16-11 ATS on the season. They did win six of their last seven games though they covered just three of their last nine. Texas Tech comes out of the Big 12 conference with a 17-10 S/U and 10-16 ATS records. The Raiders lost to Texas in the conference tourney, 66-67. They lost their last two games and are 3-2 S/U and ATS in their last five games. Good matchup here but I like the strength of the Big 12 conference here over the Mountain West. Play Texas Tech. |
03-19-21 | Colgate +8.5 v. Arkansas | 68-85 | Loss | -108 | 28 h 4 m | Show
NCAA First round action here on Friday has NO 14 Colgate taking on No seed Arkansas. Two of the highest scoring teams in division 1 basketball. The Colgate Raiders ranked 2nd in the nation with 86.3 ppg while the Arkansas Razorbacks are ranked 7th at 82.4 ppg. Colgate beat Loyola Maryland 85-72 to get here today. They finished 14-1 S/U and 10-5 ATS on the season. The also covered six of their last eight games. Arkansas opened SEC tourney play with a win over Missouri, 70-64, but then fell to LSU, 71-78. The nation's second highest teams should be able to stay close to any team, especially get 8 1/2 point as they are today. I'll take a shot with Colgate in this one. Play Colgate. |
03-18-21 | Norfolk State +3.5 v. Appalachian State | 54-53 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show
Norfolk and Appalachian State meet here this evening for the right to get into the field of 64. Norfolk won their Mid-Eastern tournament with a victory over Morgan State, 71-69 as a 2.5 point favorite. Norfolk has won five straight games and seven of their last eight. They have also covered six of their last eight games. Appalachian State finished 17-11 S/U and 14-9 ATS on the season. They also won their conference tournament with four straight wins including the championship game over Georgia State, 80-73 as a 7-point dog. App State around 3 1/2 point favorite here today. My own numbers have this game even or even Norfolk a small favorite. Play Norfolk State. |
03-18-21 | Drake -2 v. Wichita State | 53-52 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 33 m | Show
NCAA First Round action here on Thursday has Drake taking on Wichita State. Drake had a fine season at 24-4 S/U and 20-7 ATS. However, the Bulldogs finished winning just one of their last three games. They lost in the Missouri Valley tournament to Loyola Chicago, 65-75 as a 7-point dog. Wichita State was 14-5 S/U and 9-9 ATS on the season. The Shockers had their 8-game win streak snapped in their conference tournament by Cincinnati, 59-60. The Shockers have covered just three of their last 10 games. Both teams looking for that play-in spot here today. I'll take Drake in this one. |
03-18-21 | Mt. St. Mary's -1 v. Texas Southern | 52-60 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 16 m | Show
Mount St Marys brings a four game wins streak into tonight's contest, including their conference tourney win over Bryant, 73-68 as a 6.5-point dog. They have also covered four straight games and seven of their last 10. Texas Southern swept through the Southwestern Athletic Conference tourney with three wins and three covers, including the championship game win over Prairie View A&M, 80-61 as a 3-point dog. Both teams playing well, but I like Mount St Marys a bit better. |
03-17-21 | Toledo -2.5 v. Richmond | 66-76 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 6 m | Show
NIT first round action has Toledo taking on Richmond here tonight. Richmond could be shorthanded here tonight. One of their best players, guard Blake Francis is questionable with a hip injury. Francis averaged 16.1 ppg this year. Toledo lost their second game in the MAC conference tourney to Ohio U, 80-87. That snapped a two-game win streak for the Rockets. They are also 5-2 in their last seven games. Richmond finished the season just 12-8 S/U and 9-11 ATS. They lost their last three games of the season both S/U and ATS. Toledo laying just 2 1/2 points here tonight. I'll take the Rockets. Play Toledo. |
03-14-21 | Ohio State v. Illinois -5.5 | 88-91 | Loss | -112 | 20 h 39 m | Show
Ohio State advanced to today's Big 10 Championship game agaisnt Illinois, but barely. The Buckeyes faced a Michigan team that was without one of their star players in Forward Livers. The Buckeyes led by 16 points with just four minutes to play but then were outscored 2-17. A turnover with 28 seconds left in the game led to a Michigan chance to win, but they couldn't connect as time ran out. Illinois had little problems advancing with a win over Iowa, 82-71. Illinois led by eight at half and increaded that lead over the 2nd half as they cruised to the win. For me, I believe Ohio State escaped the loss on Saturday against a Michigan team without one of their star players. Illinois should have little trouble here today winning the Big 10 Tournament Championship. Play Illinois. |
03-13-21 | Cal-Irvine +2.5 v. UC-Santa Barbara | 63-79 | Loss | -107 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Late game on the board here on Saturday is the Big West Championship game between UC Irvine and Cal Santa Barbara from Las Vegas, NV. The Irvine Anteaters have won six games in a row and eight of their last nine. They opened play with a win over Cal Poly SLO, 58-51 and then beat UC Riverside last night, 78-61. Santa Barbara has won four in a row and 17 of their last 18 games. However, they are just 1-4 ATS their last five games. They opened with a win over Long Beach on Thursday, 95-87 and then beat UC Davis last night, 71-55. They lost both games at UC Irvine way back in December, both S/U and ATS. I'm going to take Irvine again here tonight as they seem to have this team's number. Play UC Irvine. |
03-13-21 | Ohio +2.5 v. Buffalo | 84-69 | Win | 100 | 7 h 24 m | Show
MAC Conference Championship Game here this evening has Ohio U taking on Buffalo. Ohio advanced to this point with wins over Kent, 85-63 and last night over Toledo, 87-80. They covered both games and have now covered eight of their last nine games. Buffalo won its 7th straight game with their semifinal victory over Akron last night, 81-74. However, they needed OT to get it. It was their third cover in a row. With games being played back-to-back and three in a row, those OT minutes can take added tolls from a team. I'm taking Ohio in this one tonight. Play OHIO U. |
03-13-21 | Georgetown +8.5 v. Creighton | Top | 73-48 | Win | 100 | 6 h 29 m | Show |
Georgetown is the Cinderella team of the Big East Conference Tourney. The Hoyas finished the regular season just 8-13 S/U but have won three straight tourney games over Marquette, Villanova and last night over Seton Hall. They have covered three straight games and six of their last eight games. Their only chance to punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament and likely kill their opponents, is a win tonight over Creighton. The Blue Jays opened with a win over Butler, 87-56, before having to battle all night last night and take a close one vs U Conn, 59-56. I am taking the big points tonight with the Hoyas and hope that Creighton doesn't give much thought to them. Play Georgetown. |
03-13-21 | Utah State +2 v. San Diego State | 57-68 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 58 m | Show
Mountain West Championship game from Las Vegas, NV has Utah State taking on San Diego State. No surprise here as the two best in the conference play for the right to advance to the NCAA tourney. Utah State Aggies had wins on Thursday over UNLV, 74-53 and then last night over Colorado State, 62-50. Their defense has been very good, allowing fewer than 60-points in each of their last four games. San Diego State Aztecs opened with a narrow win over Wyoming, 69-66 as a 15-point favorite and then failed to cover again last night over Nevada, 77-70 as a 8-point favorite. The Aztecs have no failed to cover four straight games. Looks to be a good defensive battle tonight, but I'll take the points. Play Utah State. |
