01-10-16 | Celtics -121 v. Grizzlies | Top | 98-101 | Loss | -121 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
Boston at Memphis 6:05 ET Celtics over Grizzlies- This 'number' with the Celtics favored raised my eyebrow as the Grizzlies have more wins and are playing at home and yet Vegas sees fit to make Boston the opening line favorite. Memphis opened their six-game home stand with a win over Denver on Friday night but will find tonight's opponent much tougher. Memphis will be without guards Mike Conley and Courtney Lee and Boston will have the return of coach Brad Stevens and Avery Bradley. Take the CELTICS! |
01-10-16 | Mavs v. Wolves +4.5 | 93-87 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 36 m | Show
Dallas at Minnesota 3:35 ET Timberwolves (+) over Mavericks- The Mavericks 'rested' four starters in New Orleans and came away with a victory in New Orleans on Wednesday and then laid an egg with their starters in Milwaukee on Friday losing 96-95. Minnesota is still young and has dropped 17 of their last 21 games after an 8-8 start but with the improvement of rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns and second year man Andrew Wiggins they are playing better. With Oklahoma City, Chicago and San Antonio on deck the Mavericks might get caught looking past the Timberwolves, a mistake here. Take MINNESOTA! |
01-10-16 | Ohio State v. Indiana -5.5 | 60-85 | Win | 100 | 2 h 44 m | Show
Ohio State at Indiana 1:30 ET Hoosiers (-) over Buckeyes- Two clubs that are undefeated in Big-Ten play (3-0) clash in Assembly Hall where they are 9-0 this season. Indiana has won their last eight while Ohio State has won their last seven. The Hoosiers are second in the country in field-goal percentage, fourth in 3-point percentage (45%) and ninth in scoring offense 86 points per game while holding opponents to 59 points on 34.6 percent shooting. Indiana's center Thomas Bryant has made 73% of his field goal attempts (73-of-100). Look for the Hoosiers high-powered offense to be the difference here. Take INDIANA! |
01-09-16 | Heat v. Jazz +1.5 | Top | 83-98 | Win | 100 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
Miami at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Heat- Miami opened their six-game western swing with a win at Phoenix last night but the way the Suns are going of late I wouldn't put much stock in that. The Heat have beat-up on teams from the West going 11-2 but for the most part those were games played at home where they are 15-8 and now it's payback time as they are on the road. This game is being played in 'high altitude and the Heat will have no rest. Rudy Gobert is back for Utah and he makes a difference in the middle. Take the JAZZ! |
01-09-16 | Wizards +2.5 v. Magic | 105-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Washington at Orlando 7:00 ET Wizards (+) over Magic- Orlando might be just what the Wizards need as they dropped their fifth in six tries last night and tonight are facing a club that they have already beaten three times this season and 11 straight overall. Part of Washington struggles are that they just can't seem to get over the hump without Bradley Beal who possibly will be back tonight of monday after missing 14 games with a stress fracture in his right leg. The 'Wiz' are 12-5-1 ATS against the Magic and get it done once again. Take WASHINGTON! |
01-09-16 | Bulls v. Hawks -123 | 105-120 | Win | 100 | 6 h 7 m | Show
Chicago at Atlanta 5:00 ET Hawks (-) over Bulls- The Hawks got just what the 'doctor ordered' Thursday night as they went to Philadelphia and got healthy against the pitiful 76ers. This is the first meetings of the year between these two and the Bulls are on a six-game win streak but are with Jokim Noah who will return next week. The Hawks won two of the three meetings last season and Chicago is just 3-9 ATS against Eastern Conference foes. Take ATLANTA! |
01-09-16 | Arizona State +5 v. UCLA | 74-81 | Loss | -106 | 18 h 34 m | Show
Arizona State at UCLA 5:00 ET Sun Devils (+) over Bruins- We had the winner with UCLA over Arizona Thursday night while ASU was getting pounded at Southern Cal 75-65 which dropped their conference record to 0-2. With Bryce Alford (Coach Steve's son) hitting a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to defeat the Wildcats you would have thought the Bruins had won the National Championship but it was just their first PAC-12 win after an 0-2 start. UCLA has defeated Temple, Kentucky and Gonzaga and now Arizona but they have difficulty with anybody that isn't high profile. The trends all point toward UCLA but my gut tells me something else. UCLA is 11-5 in their last 16 PAC-12 games, the home team is 9-2-1 ATS and ASU is just 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings but I can't get that celebration out of my head. Take ARIZONA STATE! |
01-09-16 | LSU v. Florida -3.5 | Top | 62-68 | Win | 100 | 14 h 7 m | Show |
LSU at Florida 1:30 ET Gators (-) over Tigers- LSU who started slow this season are off a huge upset of No. 8 Kentucky and are now 2-0 in SEC play while the Gators are off a bad loss at Tennessee. The Tigers of course have the nation's #1 player in Ben Simmons who is expected to go to the NBA after his freshman season. LSU defeated Florida twice last season and now travel to Gainesville after their home upset win and they are 1-4 away from home. This game matches the SEC's top scoring offense (84.3) against the Conference's top defense (63.5) and defense will rule here. Finally, SEC teams after defeating Kentucky are 4-14 ATS next time out. Take FLORIDA! |
01-09-16 | Texas A&M -4.5 v. Tennessee | 92-88 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 40 m | Show
Texas A&M at Tennessee 1:00 ET Aggies (-) over Volunteers- Tennessee was a big winner for 'us' on Wednesday defeating Florida 83-69 to even their SEC record to 1-1 while the Aggies slipped by Mississippi State 61-60 to get to 2-0 in conference play. Even though Vols coach Rick Barnes was 23-7 over Texas A&M while at Texas the Aggies have won the last three in this series and five straight overall. They are also 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games while Tennessee is 6-15-1 ATS in their last 22 home games. A&M also has an edge on Saturday's where they are 9-3-1 ATS while the Volunteers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16. Take TEXAS A&M. |
01-08-16 | Utah +1 v. Colorado | Top | 56-54 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
Utah at Colorado 9:00 ET Utes (+) over Buffaloes- The Utes have gotten off to a bad start (0-2) in PAC-12 dropping their first two to Stanford and California last weekend. Although Colorado leads the all-time series 26-17 Utah swept the series last year and has won four of the last six meetings. The Utes have registered huge wins over Duke, Texas Tech and Temple all on neutral site but are seeking their first win in a true road game and they will get it here led by the PAC-12's top center 7-foot Jakob Poeltl. The Utes are first in the conference field goal percentage and will prevail here. Take UTAH! |
01-08-16 | Mavs v. Bucks +1 | 95-96 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Dallas at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Mavericks- Dallas when into New Orleans and rested four starters and still came away with their sixth win in their last eight contests and now visit Milwaukee where the struggling Bucks have dropped their last two and five of their last seven. The Mavericks have won the last six in this series but are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 against the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after a loss. Take the BUCKS! |
01-08-16 | Pacers v. Pelicans +2 | Top | 91-86 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
Indiana at New Orleans 8:00 ET Pelicans (+) over Pacers- The Pacers have won the last eight meeting against New Orleans but are playing their three game in four on the road while the Pelicans despite their poor record does have home wins over San Antonio and Cleveland so they are capable. Indiana is off a win at Orlando but had lost six of their previous nine while New Orleans lost to Dallas at home last time out while the Mavericks rested four starters. This time out you will get a complete effort out of the Pelicans. Take NEW ORLEANS! |
01-07-16 | Arizona v. UCLA +3 | Top | 84-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
Arizona at UCLA 9:00 ET Bruins (+) over Wildcats- UCLA coach Steve Alford called his team 'defensively soft after their loss to Washington State Sunday night as the Bruins open the PAC-12 0-2 and just 9-6 overall despite wins over Kentucky and Gonzaga. No. 6 ranked Arizona swept both meetings last season including a PAC-12 tournament win but failed to 'cover' in either victory. The Bruins are just 4-10 ATS this year but a lead by the coaches' son Bryce Alford who averages 16.9points but has struggled the past four games. Look for Alford (the player) to pick up the slack as the Bruins get the money. Take UCLA! |
01-07-16 | Celtics +5.5 v. Bulls | 92-101 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Boston at Chicago 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Bulls- The Bulls are in the mist of their longest winning streak of the season winning their last five and 10 of their last 14. Boston who is 6-7 since their last meeting with Chicago (a 105-100 win) a month ago is off a brutal loss to the Pistons last night when they blew a 13-point fourth quarter lead suffering their third straight home loss. Boston is 5-2 in the second of back-to-back contests and will work hard to atone for last night's let-down. Take the CELTICS! |
01-07-16 | Notre Dame -9 v. Boston College | 82-54 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Notre Dame at Boston College 7:00 ET Fighting Irish (-) over Eagles- Notre Dame was totally out-classed in their ACC opener by No. 5 Virginia as they fell 77-66. Irish coach Mike Brey felt that the Cavaliers experience was the key factor in that contest but they will not be confronted with that tonight as Boston College has nine freshman, six of which see plenty of playing time. Notre Dame has won five straight in this series and nine of the last 10 between these former Big East foes. The Irish experience and depth will spell the difference down the stretch. Take NOTRE DAME! |
01-07-16 | Michigan v. Purdue -7.5 | 70-87 | Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show
Michigan at Purdue 7:00 ET Boilermakers (-) over Wolverines- Purdue will be hosting the Wolverines at home for the second straight season tonight and they won 64-51 as a small favorite last season and will more then likely win again this season. The Boilermakers dropped their last outing at home to Iowa 70-63 their first loss in their last 15 games at home and will look to rebound (note how I slipped then in) here despite Michigan willing three of the last four at Mackey Arena but their top player guard Caris LeVert who leads the team in scoring (17.6), rebounds (5.4)and assists (5.2) per game is questionable. This time they don't. Take PURDUE! |
01-06-16 | Clippers v. Blazers +4 | 109-98 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 11 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Clippers- The Clippers are playing their best ball of the season as they have won six straight (five without Blake Griffin) and they return home for five games after this road encounter. Last time out on Saturday Los Angeles run off the 76ers 130-99 as they produced their highest point total of the season. Portland once again has the services of Damian Lillard and if he returns to form Portland can cause problems for the Clippers tonight. Take the TRAILBLAZERS! |
01-06-16 | Grizzlies +5.5 v. Thunder | 94-112 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Memphis at Oklahoma City 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Thunder- The Thunder once again are without Kevin Durant who has a sprained toe and usually Russell Westbrook is happy to pick up the slack but he wasn't able to do it last time out shooting poorly and turning the ball over seven times in a loss to Sacramento. The Thunder have already crushed Memphis once this season (125-88) and that was with a healthy Durant. Look for the Grizzlies to get some measure of revenge here. Take MEMPHIS! |
01-06-16 | Ohio State v. Northwestern -128 | Top | 65-56 | Loss | -128 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
Ohio State at Northwestern 9:00 ET Wildcats over Buckeyes- I made a big mistake Saturday when I thought the Wildcats were ready to step-up in class and compete with Maryland and they were throughly trashed from start to finish by the Terrapins. Ohio State enters having won six straight after having lost five of their first nine while Northwestern who had won 10 straight are looking to get back on track against the Buckeyes. Ohio State has had their problems on the road going 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 away from home. The Wildcats are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 following an ATS loss. Take NORTHWESTERN! |
01-06-16 | Evansville +10 v. Wichita State | 64-67 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
Evansville at Wichita State 8:00 ET Purple Aces (+) over Shockers- Wichita State returns five starters from last season's club that smacked Evansville twice last year by a combined 39-points and are 6-0 at home to date. The Purple Aces are 3-1 in true road games and are ranked 3rd nationally for offensive field goal percentage at 52.4% while the Shockers at 41.2 % are ranked 270th. The Aces are also averaging 80.5 points on the road can can cause Wichita State some problems here. Take EVANSVILLE! |
01-06-16 | Pacers v. Magic +2.5 | Top | 95-86 | Loss | -103 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
Indiana at Orlando 7:00 ET Magic (+) over Pacers- Two struggling NBA franchises will try and get thing right for the New Year as Indiana enters losing three of their last four while Orlando has lost their last three. The Magic closed December with a flurry winning seven of their final nine games and the Pacers may be without guards George Hill and C.J. Miles. Indiana has won the last five meetings and 13 of the past 15 meetings including a home 97-84 win in early November but come up a very short favorite here. I believe that trend will change here. Take ORLANDO! |
01-06-16 | Florida v. Tennessee +4 | 69-83 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show
Florida at Tennessee 7:00 ET Volunteers (+) over Gators- A pair of 'new' coaches have arrived at these two SEC schools as Billy Donovan has left Florida for the NBA left them with Mike White while Rick Barnes who was ousted from Texas runs the Tennessee program. The Volunteers are looking for their first SEC win as they were beaten by Auburn on Saturday while the Gators had their best shooting night of the season in defeating Georgia 77-63. Tennessee is 7-0 at home and will take advantage of the SEC's worst shooting free throw (62.1%) team. Take the VOLUNTEERS! |
01-05-16 | Vanderbilt v. Arkansas +2 | 85-90 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
Vanderbilt at Arkansas 9:00 ET Razorbacks (+) over Commodores- Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stalling is still trying to figure out what needs to be done to get his squad on the right track after a loss Saturday to LSU. The Commodores have good defensive number but without 7-1 Luke Hornet their stats are taking a hit as they surrendered 90 points to LSU. Arkansas is led by Moses Kingsley who leads the club is scoring with 16.5 points on 55.6 % shooting, 10.1 rebounds and an SEC best 2.7 blocks per game. Without Hornet Vandy has no answer. Take ARKANSAS! |
01-05-16 | Kings +5 v. Mavs | 116-117 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show
Sacramento at Dallas 8:30 ET Kings (+) over Mavericks- Talk about a one-sided series the Mavericks have defeated Sacramento 21 straight times in Dallas but the Kings did snap a six game losing streak against them earlier this season (only their 3rd win in last 24 match-ups). The Mavs have dropped their last two and have been up-and-down all season. DeMarcus Cousins has been the catalyst for the Kings and has found peace with coach George Karl. Take SACRAMENTO! |
01-05-16 | Knicks v. Hawks -8 | Top | 107-101 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
New York Knicks at Atlanta 8:00 ET Hawks (-) over Knicks- A turn-around game where the Hawks will look to get a measure of revenge after losing to New York 111-97 (Megabucks winner) at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. In that contest Knicks guard Arron Afflalo hit 14-of-17 shots and 7-of-8 from 3-point range. Atlanta Coach Mike Budenholzer assured the media that he 'won't do it again at Phillips Arena. I agree, that combined with Hawks sharp shooter Kevin Kover looks to snap out of his slump going 2-for-27 from the floor (1-of-24 from 3-point range) and in the comforts of familiar surrounding I believe he will. The Hawks already have a home win over the Knicks on December 26 117-98 and I expect more of the same here. Take ATLANTA! |
01-05-16 | Bucks +8 v. Bulls | Top | 106-117 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 14 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Chicago 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Bulls- Chicago is coming off huge win 115-113 at Toronto on Sunday when Jimmy Butler did something Michael Jordan never accomplished as a member of the Bulls as he scored 40-points in the second half to lead them to the win. Milwaukee meanwhile is off a beating at the hands of San Antonio at home after two road wins and are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games. Although the Bucks are 1-5 in their last six meetings in Chicago they get the cash tonight. Take MILWAUKEE! |
01-05-16 | Oklahoma State v. Baylor -9.5 | 62-79 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Oklahoma State at Baylor 8:00 ET Bears (-) over Cowboys- Baylor get a taste of what 'Big-time' basketball is all about last time out as they were routed by Kansas. Last season in the lone meetings in Waco Oklahoma State jumped out to an early lead and never let up in a 74-65 win. This year look for Baylor to control the boards and the ball with Rico Gathers who is averaging more then 11 rebounds per contest. The Cowboys will be without Phil Ford and it just leaves too big a hole for them to fill. (Ha) Take BAYLOR! |
01-05-16 | VCU +2.5 v. St. Joe's | 85-82 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
Virginia Commonwealth at St. Joseph's 7:00 ET Rams (+) over Hawks- Both teams enter tonight's contest on winning streaks as VCU has won their last four and St. Joe's streak is now at seven straight winners. It's surprising to 'us' as both clubs are weak shooters from the field with the Hawks below 43% and the Rams also below 43% at 42.5. In their only meeting last season the Rams crushed St. Joe's at home winning 89-74. Even though the Hawks have a better record and three less loses VCU is just better. Take the RAMS! |
01-04-16 | Virginia -12.5 v. Virginia Tech | 68-70 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 33 m | Show
Virginia at Virginia Tech 9:00 ET Cavaliers (-) over Hokies- In what is supposed to be a hard fought rivalry it in reality is a lopsided one-side affair. Virginia has won nine of the last 10 meetings and leads the overall series 88-53. 'We' used Tech on Saturday and the rewarded 'us' with a 73-68 overtime win against N.C. State on Saturday. That makes the Hokies 1-0 in ACC pay and it's the first time since joining the conference in 2004 that theu have won their ACC opener. Take the CAVALIERS! |
01-04-16 | Wolves v. 76ers +6 | 99-109 | Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Minnesota at Philadelphia 7:05 ET 76ers (+) over Timberwolves- The call is 'Break-up the 76ers' as the lowly cellar dwelling club has won two of their last five on the road to raise their season record to 3-33. Minnesota meanwhile is having problems of their own as they have dropped their last two and five of their last six and are now 10 games under .500 (12-22). It appears that the hire of Mike DiAntoni and bringing in Jerry Conlangelo is having a positive effect. Jahlil Okafor is working his way back off the bench as Philly is improving and can win here. Take the 76ERS! |
01-04-16 | North Carolina v. Florida State +3 | Top | 106-90 | Loss | -106 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
North Carolina at Florida State 7:00 ET Seminoles (+) over Tar Heels- After a slow start No. 8 North Carolina has reeled off six straight wins and is 2-0 in ACC play. Florida State is 0-1 in ACC play and they had their six game winning streak stopped as they lost 84-75 to Clemson, one of the bottom tier clubs in the Conference who beat them 84-75. The Tar Heels are 13-2 with both losses have occurred in their only two road games at Texas and Northern Iowa while Florida State is 5-0 straight-up at home. Take the SEMINOLES! |
01-03-16 | Colorado +2 v. Stanford | 56-55 | Win | 100 | 10 h 0 m | Show
Colorado at Stanford 10:00 ET Buffaloes (+) over Cardinal- Stanford came up big for 'us' win a win over No. 22 Utah on Friday night as a 5-point dog winning outright 70-68 in overtime and that was an emotional victory. Colorado is off a loss at California when they shot a season low 32 percent in their 79-65 loss. The Cardinal are 6-1 since losing three straight and will have their work cut out for themselves against the 11-3 Buffaloes. Stanford who is without guard Robert Cartwright and Reid Travis will struggle against Colorado who has won the last four meetings. Look for a turn around for Colorado and a letdown by the Cardinal. Take the BUFFALOES! |
01-03-16 | Utah +3 v. California | 58-71 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 34 m | Show
Utah at California 7:30 ET Utes (+) over Golden Bears- California and Utah both enter this contest at 11-3 with the Golden Bears off a big win over Colorado Friday night while Utah fell at Stanford in overtime after shooting 46 percent from the foul line. Tonight the Utes will be more fundamentally sound as they look to defeat Cal for the fourth straight time. The Golden Bears will have trouble with 7-foot center Jakob Poeltl who is becoming the most powerful force in the PAC-12. Take UTAH! |
01-03-16 | Oregon v. Oregon State +2 | 57-70 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show
Oregon at Oregon State 7:00 ET Beavers (+) over Ducks- Oregon State hasn't made the 'Big Dance in 25 years when they were lead by NBA Hall of Fame guard Gary Payton and this season they believe they will get their with five returning starters including Gary Payton II as they look for their best start since 1984-85. The Beavers will have the services of Daniel Gomes who returns from a broken hand. Payton is much like his father as he is the reigning PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year and leads the team in scoring (16.8), rebounding (8.2), assists (5.0) and steals (2.5). The Beavers also have a coaches son on the floor with Tres Tinkle and will be a big help with basketball smarts. Take OREGON STATE! |
01-03-16 | Hawks v. Knicks +5.5 | Top | 97-111 | Win | 100 | 4 h 53 m | Show |
Atlanta at New York 3:30 ET Knicks (+) over Hawks- The Knicks took a 77-73 lead into the fourth quarter against the Bulls Friday night and then fell apart by shooting just 2-of-19 in the final stanza getting out scored 31-8. New York has now dropped five of their last six but are still one of the most improved team in the NBA this year. Atlanta meanwhile has won seven of heir last eight and have defeated the Knicks the two meetings by an average 15 points. Each of the Knicks last four losses have come of the road and the Garden will be a welcome site this afternoon. Take the KNICKS! |
01-02-16 | Rockets v. Spurs -11.5 | 103-121 | Win | 100 | 9 h 53 m | Show
Houston at San Antonio 8:30 ET Spurs (+) over Rockets- On Christmas Day we posted the Rockets over the Spurs and they responded with a convincing win to hand San Antonio their only loss in the past three weeks. The Spurs are 19-0 at home and have won their last 28 games as hosts. The Rockets win on Christmas Day was the only victory over their state rivals in the past 11 meetings. Houston has no heart and too many huge egos to compete here. Take the SPURS! |
01-02-16 | Pelicans +3 v. Mavs | Top | 105-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 55 m | Show |
New Orleans at Dallas 8:30 ET Pelicans (+) over Mavericks- The Mavericks who defeated the Curry-less Golden State Warriors handing them only their second loss of the season have fallen since then but welcome New Orleans into town. Dallas has won five straight at home and have defeated the Pelicans six straight times as hosts. The Mavericks has their four-game winning streak snapped by Miami Friday and have a huge advantage over New Orleans who are just 3-15 on the road. This two have split home wins this season against each other but this time the 'numbers' say take the Pelicans. NEW ORLEANS! |

Maryland is No. 4 in the country in shooting percentage (51.7) while Northwestern holds opponents to 37.8 percent shooting (15th nationally). At home defense rules. Take NORTHWESTERN! |
01-02-16 | Pistons +4.5 v. Pacers | 82-94 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 26 m | Show
Detroit at Indiana 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over Pacers- These two have already split two meetings this season with each club holding serve and winning at home. The Pacers have dropped their last two and will be facing an improved Pistons' club that will have point guard Brandon Jennings returning. Indiana has been very inconsistent with games where their effort can be questioned while Detroit seems to put forth a professional effort every time out. Look for the Pistons to continue their fine play and get the money here. Take DETROIT! |
01-02-16 | Indiana v. Nebraska +5 | 79-69 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 14 m | Show
Indiana at Nebraska 4:00 ET Cornhuskers (+) over Hoosiers- Indiana won their conference opener on the road at Rutgers while Nebraska lost at home in their opener to Northwestern. The Cornhuskers had a 12-point lead in the second half against the Wildcats but were killed on the boards as they were out-rebounded 40-25 by Northwestern. Meanwhile, Indiana used an 11-0 run in the second half to put away Rutgers and tis time the rolls will reverse themselves. At home take NEBRASKA! |
01-02-16 | NC State v. Virginia Tech +1.5 | 68-73 | Win | 100 | 3 h 8 m | Show

The Wolfpack have won the last five meetings and lead the overall series 39-14. This time the Hokies respond. Take VIRGINIA TECH! |
01-01-16 | Utah v. Stanford +4 | 68-70 | Win | 100 | 11 h 53 m | Show
Utah at Stanford 9:00 ET Cardinal (+) over Utes- The PAC-12 opener for both clubs with Utah ranked No. 22 and Stanford struggling to keep healthy players on the court. The Utes are led by 7-foot center Jakob Poeltl who helped defeat Duke at Madison Square Garden last month. The Cardinal who rank last in PAC-12 scoring at 72.7 points per game have won five of their last six and will try and slow this contest down to a crawl and make every possession count. Stanford is 14-7 in PAC-12 openers at home and is 98-32 at Maples Pavilion under coach Johnny Dawkins. They them here. It's STANFORD! |
12-30-15 | Fresno State +8 v. UNLV | 69-66 | Win | 100 | 11 h 3 m | Show
Fresno State at Las Vegas Nevada 11:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Rebels- Two things that you will always working for you of you play against UNLV and that is 'Vegas' money and the fact that they are coached by Dave Rice. Every year the Rebels are listed among the top recruiting schools in the country and they haven't played in the 'Big Dance' in five years. These two do match-up well as both squads are poor shooters as both struggle to hit 33% from beyond the arch. The glory day of the Runnin' Rebels are far behind them and although they do have some talent it will rarely show well. Take FRESNO STATE! |
12-30-15 | Georgetown v. DePaul +3.5 | 70-58 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 23 m | Show
Georgetown at DePaul 9:00 ET Blue Demons (+) over Hoyas- The DePaul Blue Demons shocked the Top-20 world with a convincing 82-61 win over George Washington last time out to break a three-game losing streak. It's was their frst rank over a ranked opponent since 2008 and they open Big East while Georgetown snapped a two-game losing streak of their own with a 62-59 win over Charlotte. The Hoyas have dominated this series winning 12 of the last 13 and hold a 25-7 series edge. The Blue Demons are becoming more competitive as four of the last five meetings have been decided by seven points or fewer. Take DEPAUL! |
12-30-15 | Syracuse v. Pittsburgh -7.5 | 61-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 11 m | Show
Syracuse at Pittsburgh 9:00 ET Panthers (-) over Orange- Syracuse (10-3) on a three-game win streak has had their way with am easy non-conference schedule to date but have struggled against the 'big boys' losing to Georgetown and even a weak St. John's team. Pittsburgh meanwhile comes rolling home where they are 8-1 winners of their last six and having defeated the Orange in the last two meetings. This 'line' is a bit high considering that the last nine meetings between these two teams have been decided by less then 10 points and without Jim Boeheim Syracuse is down a notch. The Panthers defense at home will be the difference. Take PITTSBURGH! |
12-30-15 | Clippers v. Hornets +3 | Top | 122-117 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Clippers- it looks as though the Clippers are a better team without Blake Griffin as they have won three straight including an impressive108-91 win at Washington Tuesday. Charlotte has also won their last two after having dropped five of six and defense has been the key allowing just 95 points per contest. Los Angeles has dominated the series of late winning eight of the last nine but the Clippers have been inconsistent so far this season. Take the HORNETS! |
12-29-15 | Connecticut +1 v. Texas | 71-66 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show
Connecticut at Texas 9:00 ET Huskies (+) over Longhorns- both these clubs enter this match-up 8-3 with the Longhorns holding a couple of more impressive victories. Texas has wins over North Carolina and Stanford while Connecticut has now won three straight. Both clubs will be without one of the outstanding contributors as the Huskies are without one of the nation's top defenders in Amida Brimah (finger surgery) and the Longhorns without center Cameron Ridley (broken foot). Despite this being Connecticut's first true road game the Texas being 6-0 at home but tonight is not their night. Take the HUSKIES! |
12-29-15 | Michigan State v. Iowa -3 | 70-83 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show
Michigan State at Iowa 9:00 ET Hawkeyes over Spartans- Another big game between the Spartans and Hawkeyes but this time it's on the hardwood and not the gridiron. Michigan State enter Carver-Hawkeye Arean in Iowa City the nation's No. 1 ranked team and they are casted in the underdog roll as they will be without start Denzel Valentine who is having minor knee surgery. Last season when these two met here Iowa had a 39-28 halftime lead but were blown away in the second have as State won 75-61 and has now won nine straight in this series. So, why is Iowa favored? With Vegas giving the edge to the Hawkeyes I will follow their lead. Take their lead and IOWA! |
12-29-15 | Northeastern +5.5 v. NC State | 66-72 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Northeastern at N.C. State 7:00 ET Huskies (+) over Wolfpack- N.C. State has the ACC's leading scorer and third assist man in Anthony Barber but the rest of the team has trouble on offense. Northeastern at 8-4 has competed against some heavy competition defeating No. 19 Miami while losing to top-ranked Michigan State. The Huskies know how to put the ball on the hoop shooting 38.1% from 3-point range (57th nationally) with their top-4 all over 40%, while the Wolfpack struggle at 31.5% (258th nationally). Take NORTHEASTERN! |
12-29-15 | SMU v. Tulsa +4.5 | 81-69 | Loss | -106 | 6 h 30 m | Show
SMU at Tulsa 5:00 ET Golden Hurricane (+) over Mustangs- This is the opening conference game for the two that finished atop the American Athletic Conference last season as 11-0 unranked SMU travels to Tulsa. Larry Brown returns after his suspension as Tulsa looks for revenge after last season's double-dip losses to the Mustangs who have won three straight in the series and the last four in Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane were one game behind the Mustangs in AAC play last season but hold a 30-16 series edge. SMU has five players averaging double-digits while Tulsa comes in well rested with no player logging more then 25 minutes in this win over Northern Arizona. Take the GOLDEN HURRICANE! |
12-28-15 | Kings +14 v. Warriors | 103-122 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 34 m | Show
Sacramento at Golden State 10:35 ET Kings (+) over Warriors- The Golden State Warriors have dominated the entire league this season but none more then the Sacramento Kings the last three season winning the last 10 meetings. After receiving their first loss in Milwaukee the Warriors have won their last four and are 14-0 at home. There is no question Golden State owns the edge (and a big one) on the perimeter but the Kings DeMarcus Cousins has reached his level of expectations and has become a dominate force in the middle. With the Warriors Barbosa out Sacramento can move more freely inside. Take the KINGS! |
12-28-15 | Nets v. Heat -9 | 111-105 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 35 m | Show
Brooklyn at Miami 7:35 ET Heat (-) over Nets- after playing through a lull the Heat have responded with two wins over New Orleans and Orlando. The Nets who are just 2-12 on the road are off a six-game home stand and have dropped seven of their last eight. Brooklyn struggles on the defensive end of the floor allowing 106.3 points in their last eight games and committed nine turnovers in the final quarter of their loss to Washington last time out. Miami is 13-6 at home and should win here. Take the HEAT! |
12-28-15 | Hawks +2 v. Pacers | Top | 87-93 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 8 m | Show |
Atlanta at Indiana 7:05 ET Hawks (+) over Pacers- The Pacers pounded Minnesota in the fourth quarter Saturday out-scoring them 35-11 on their way to a 102-88 victory while shooting 6-of-9 from 3-point range in the final stanza. Atlanta is know as the 3-point shoot squad led by the NBA's currently lifetime leader Kyle Kover as they bring a six-game win streak into Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Hawks swept the season series last year winning all three meetings and have won the last four overall. Atlanta defense leads the NBA in points off turnover (20.2) and committed only nine turnovers themselves their last time out. Take ATLANTA! |
12-26-15 | Pacers v. Wolves +4.5 | Top | 102-88 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
Indiana at Minnesota 8:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Pacers- The inconsistent Indiana Pacers have dropped their last three and have five consecutive road losses where they have won since Dec 2. Minnesota meanwhile continues to struggle at home where they are just 2-11-1 ATS in their 14 games as hosts this season. These two played to a tight 107-103 victory for the Pacers in Indiana back in early November. The Timberwolves are off their worst defeat of the season against the Spurs 108-83 Wednesday and will put forth a professional effort tonight. Take MINNESOTA |
12-26-15 | Raptors v. Bucks +3 | 111-90 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 59 m | Show
Toronto at Milwaukee 5:00 ET Bucks (+) over Raptors- Milwaukee is without coach Jason Kidd and has interim coach Joe Prunty running the show and he is off on the right foot as the Bucks run out the lowing 76ers in his debut. Toronto relies on it's back court of Lowery and DeRozan which is averaging a combined 43.6 points but will up against defenders Michael Carter-Williams and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Raptors are just 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 2-6 ATS when following a straight-up win, while the Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Take MILWAUKEE! |
12-26-15 | Wizards v. Nets +3 | 111-96 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 10 m | Show
Washington at Brooklyn 4:00 ET Nets (+) over Wizards- The Wizards are starting to play basketball the way they closed the season last year as defense has been the key in their getting to with one game of .500. (13-14). Brooklyn who took the Mavericks into overtime Wednesday before succumbing 119-118 have dropped six of their last seven but have been much more competitive of late. Washington hasn't rewarded it's backers as a road favorite and they are without Bradley Beat and Otto Porter Jr. The Nets Thaddeus Young is showing his stuff of late and they are playing with extra effort. Take BROOKLYN! |
12-25-15 | Spurs v. Rockets +7 | 84-88 | Win | 100 | 21 h 27 m | Show
San Antonio at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (+) over Spurs- Everyone keeps talking about the Golden State Warriors but the Spurs are a hot as anybody as they have won eight straight by an average margin of 21.4 points including the last four my at least 20. That's a lot of blowout wins. Houston is playing better of late winning 10 of their last15 but are off a disappointing loss at Orlando Wednesday. The Spurs have won the last three in the series while Houston had won the previous six. The Rockets have enough fire-power and incentive to keep this one close. Take HOUSTON! |
12-25-15 | Cavs +7 v. Warriors | 83-89 | Win | 100 | 19 h 35 m | Show
Cleveland at Golden State 5:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- This is the day and match-up where so many predicted Golden State would lose their first game of the season. Sorry to disappoint but the Bucks made that case mute. Both clubs are once again the top in their conferences and the Warriors head into Christmas day with a 31-game regular season home winning streak. Kyrie Irving who was hurt in Game One of the Finals against Golden State has returned and helps the Cavaliers depth and overall offensive potential. LeBron James will be at his best and this one comes down to the final buzzer. Take CLEVELAND! |
12-25-15 | Bulls +9 v. Thunder | 105-96 | Win | 100 | 16 h 57 m | Show
Chicago at Oklahoma City 2:30 ET Bulls (+) over Thunder- The Bulls are off three straight losses including a listless 105-102 home loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday while Oklahoma City is off three straight wins and have won their last five home meetings against Chicago. The Bulls center Joakim Noah will miss this encounter and that not be such a negative for them as he is averaging a career low 4.5 points as it appears Hoiberg's faster paced game isn't suited to Noah's style of play. Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler combined for 55 in a win over the Thunder in Chicago in November and can help keep this one close. Take the BULLS! |
12-23-15 | Mavs v. Nets +3 | Top | 119-118 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Dallas at Brooklyn 7:35 ET Nets (+) over Mavericks- Although the road team has won seven of the last eight meetings the Nets are in a great spot to upset the Mavericks. Dallas is off a disappointing loss at Toronto last night which dropped them to 8-8 on the road and will be without guard Deron Williams who was looking forward to returning to Brooklyn against his former club. The Mavs will be further short-handed in the back-court as Devin Harris will also be sidelined. Dirk Nowitzki is beginning to show signs of ware-and-tear of a long and productive career. Look for the Nets to get it done here. Take BROOKLYN! |
12-23-15 | Kings +7 v. Pacers | 108-106 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Sacramento at Indiana 7:00 ET Kings (+) over Pacers- The Pacers return home where they are 7-1 straight-up and 6-2 ATS in their last eight before before getting pasted twice on the road in Memphis and San Antonio. Sacramento dropped to 1-2 on their four-game road trip running out of gas at Washington Monday night falling 113-99 to the Wizards. The Kings record (11-17) does not necessarily reflect the improvement of their overall play with the addition of temperamental Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins. I see the trend continuing. Take SACRAMENTO! |
12-22-15 | Pistons +4 v. Heat | 93-92 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
Detroit at Miami 7:35 ET Pistons (+) over Heat- The Pistons are off a four-overtime win at Chicago on Friday but had they entire weekend off to regain their legs. Detroit will be pleased to welcome Aron Baynes who was out on Friday and Brandon Jennings who played in a rehab D-League game this weekend. These two met Thanksgiving weekend with Pistons prevailing at home 104-81 as a 1-point favorite, in a contest where Andre Drummond had 18 points and 20 rebounds. Detroit is 8-3 straight up and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 contests while Miami has won four of their last five after flat spot for eight games. The Pistons are playing with a purpose and confidence. Take DETROIT! |
12-22-15 | Iowa State v. Cincinnati -4.5 | 81-79 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 17 m | Show
Iowa State at Cincinnati 7:00 ET Bearcats (-) over Cyclones- No. 9 ranked Iowa State is coming off their first loss of the season as Northern Iowa ambushed them 81-79 on Saturday. One thing that happens when a team loses their first game of the season is that they realize that they are not invincible and their confidence take a hit. Like the Cyclones who lead the nation in fewest four per game (14.3), Cincinnati prides itself on their defense as they allow just 59.4 points per game which is 12th nationally. This is Iowa State's first true road game of the season and that always is a bit of a shock to the system. Take the BEARCATS! |
12-21-15 | Thunder v. Clippers +2 | Top | 100-99 | Win | 100 | 12 h 6 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at L.A. Clippers 10:35 ET Clippers (+) over Thunder- The Clippers enter this fray having lost their last two while Oklahoma City have won seven of their last eight. Los Angeles who have struggled with chemistry killer Lance Stephenson believe that they have turned the corner winning four of five on their last road trip and 10 of their last 13. Oklahoma City has not won against the Clippers in Los Angeles since Game 6 in the 2014 Western Conference semifinals. Take the CLIPPERS! |
12-21-15 | Hornets +3 v. Rockets | 95-102 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Charlotte at Houston 8:00 ET Hornets (+) over Rockets- The Rockets have finally made it to .500 winning their last two including a win over the L.A. Clippers Saturday 107-97 where unhappy Dwight Howard delivered with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Houston who has taken nine straight in this series but have had chemistry problems all season with Harden now a Kardashian and Howard wanting the ball more along with McHale's departure. Charlotte will be without Al Jefferson (suspension) but Nicolas Batum is back from illness. The Rockets are just 4-9 at Toyota Center favorites and Hornets are more team oriented. Take CHARLOTTE! |
12-21-15 | Kings +3 v. Wizards | 99-113 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 42 m | Show
Sacramento at Washington 7:00 ET Kings (+) over Wizards- both these clubs enter this contest with 11 wins but where that is a good thing for Sacramento it is not good for Washington. The Kings won on the road for just the third time in 12 tries Sunday at Toronto while the Wizards have won only five times in their last 15 outings. Washington's defense has suffered as their big men are ailing and their catalyst Bradley Beal is injured. The Kings Rajon Rondo is playing well since his return from suspension and DeMarcus Cousins is starting to buy in to George Karl's way of playing the game. Take SACRAMENTO! |
12-20-15 | Kings +5 v. Raptors | Top | 104-94 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
Sacramento at Toronto 6:00 ET Kings (+) over Raptors- The Raptors return home after a three game road trip when they finished with their only win over the Heat 108-94. Rajon Rondo returned from his suspension Friday night in Minnesota but his 11 points and 13 assists were enough as the Kings fell to the Timberwolves as small favorites. This time they shall receive points from Toronto and they will make good use of them. Sacramento knows they can play with the Raptors as they have already notched a 107-101 victory in November. Take the KINGS! |
12-19-15 | Clippers v. Rockets -115 | 97-107 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Houston 8:05 ET Rockets over Clippers- So far the getting rid of Kevin McHale as head coach hasn't had a positive effect on the Rockets as they continue to bicker over who sees the ball and when as they struggle below .500. The L.A. Clippers at 16-11 are off a fourth quarter collapse last night in San Antonio and must realize by now that they just can't get over the 'hump' so to speak. Their weaknesses are glaring as DeAndre Jordan can rebound and dunk and block some shots but his game in limited and Lance Stephenson is a cancer no matter where he goes. Look for Houston who just crushed the Lakers to take that confidence builder into tonights contest. Take the ROCKETS! |
12-19-15 | Princeton +12.5 v. Maryland | 61-82 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 10 m | Show
Princeton at Maryland 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Terrapins- No. 7 Maryland will host the basketball pride of the Ivy League on a neutral site the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, there is no way I am looking to compare the Tigers with the Terrapins but they are a smart team that won't give up while Maryland can't be taking a school from the Ivy's seriously. Look for the Tigers to scrap and claw its way to a point-spread victory. Take PRINCETON! |
12-19-15 | Notre Dame v. Indiana -117 | Top | 73-80 | Win | 100 | 5 h 53 m | Show |
Indiana vs Notre Dame 2:00 ET Hoosiers (+) over Fighting Irish- Both these clubs enter this contest with three straight win under their belts and both will feature excellent point guards. Indiana who averaged 95.7 points during their three game streak are led by Yogi Ferrell scoring 16.8 points and 6.5 assists along with back-court partner James Blackmon Jr. who scores 16 points per game. The Irish will counter with Demetrius Jackson who has 17.8 points and five assists per contest. The Hoosiers hold the all-time series lead 48-22 but Notre Dame his won three of the last four. This time around the Hoosiers get it done. Take INDIANA! |
12-19-15 | North Carolina -6.5 v. UCLA | 89-76 | Win | 100 | 3 h 29 m | Show
North Carolina vs UCLA 1:00 ET Tar Heels (-) over Bruins- Last Saturday we took Texas in this spot against the Tar Heels and were rewarded with an 'outright' 84-82 victory. This week we will turn the tables and lay the points with North Carolina against UCLA. The Bruins are a long way from home and have had some disappointing outing including a losses to Monmouth-NJ and Wake Forest while going 4-7 ATS. Their history against the ACC has not fared well in recent meetings winning just 2-of-9 ATS. Take NORTH CAROLINA |
12-19-15 | Utah +6.5 v. Duke | 77-75 | Win | 100 | 3 h 17 m | Show
Utah vs Duke 12:00 ET Utes (+) over Blue Devils- Utah invades Madison Square Garden to take on No. 6 Duke who will be without senior power forward Amile Jefferson who broke his foot in practice this week. The Blue Devils will have to rely on coaching to match-up with Utah center Jakob Poeltl who is shooting 69.9 percent from the field and is averaging 19.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. The Utes come in with losses to Miami-FL and Wichita State but rebounded with a win the following game each time. These two met is the NCAA Elite-8 last season with Duke winning 63-57 as they were called back on to the court to shoot two free throws for the 'cover.' This time it's UTAH! |
12-18-15 | Pelicans +3.5 v. Suns | 88-104 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 46 m | Show
New Orleans at Phoenix 10:30 ET Pelicans (+) over Suns- New Orleans has only seven win in 25 games this season but two of them have come at the hands of the Phoenix Suns who just haven't been able to contain Anthony Davis. Davis has averaged 29 points and 18 rebounds along with three blocked shots as the Pelicans averaged 121 points against the Suns in a pair of November wins. New Orleans has won four of the last five meetings and seem to have the Suns number. Take NEW ORLEANS! |
12-18-15 | Grizzlies +2.5 v. Mavs | 88-97 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 27 m | Show
Memphis at Dallas 8:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Mavericks- It looks like age isn't just affecting Kobe Bryant as father time has slowed down Dirk Nowitzki a bit much this season. He is in the mist of a scoring slump averaging just 13.3 points of late. Both these clubs are hovering just above .500 on the season but I believe the Grizzlies have more potential. Both clubs are off losses but the Mavericks held a two-point lead against Indiana before being blasted 62-34 in the second-half. Memphis already owns a 110-96 win over Dallas and that was without Zach Randolph, with him they win again. Take the GRIZZLIES! |
12-18-15 | Pistons +4 v. Bulls | Top | 147-144 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
Detroit at Chicago 8:00 ET Pistons (+) over Bulls- A contrast of styles will be on display Friday at the United Center in Chicago as the Bulls who have won four straight and are playing their nine home game in last 10 will put their tough defense (88.8 points allowed last 4) against the free wheeling Pistons. Detroit owns a home win over Chicago back on October 30 winning 98-94 when Andre Drummond had 20 points and 20 rebounds. Derrick (The Hoax) Rose has started to show glimpses of his old self but it won't be enough tonight. Take the PISTONS! |
12-18-15 | South Carolina v. Clemson +1.5 | 65-59 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 1 m | Show
South Carolina at Clemson 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Gamecocks- This is the first meeting between these two bitter rivals where both have been ranked in 18 years in 1997. South Carolina enter this contest 9-0 winning eight of nine by double-digits and have a 20.5 point per game advantage over their opponents. Clemson is 6-1 at home losing only to Alabama 51-50 last Saturday. The Tigers have won eight of the last 11 meetings with the Gamecocks winning last season 68-45. Clemson will be looking for big-time revenge against their most bitter of rivals. Take the TIGERS! |
12-17-15 | Rockets v. Lakers +6 | 107-87 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 52 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Lakers (+) over Rockets- 'Break-up' the Lakers is the call after their convincing win over the Bucks on Tuesday. The disappointing Rockets seem to have more problems then meets the eye as they continue to slump and have rumors of dissension as they season wares on. Last week Houston defeated Los Angeles at home by 29 points (126-97) on Saturday and then they dropped their next two before this encounter. The Rockets are just 5-11 ATS as favorites this season and L.A. Should play them close tonight. Take the LAKERS! |
12-17-15 | Raptors v. Hornets +1 | 99-109 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show
Toronto at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Raptors- The Charlotte Hornets have dropped their last two while the Raptors with injuries to a pair of starters have won eight of their last 12. The Hornets were pounded last night at Orlando but are staying with the 'small ball' which has produced 10 3-pointers a game and four back-court players scoring in double-digits. The Hornets are 10-4 straight-up at home with their loses coming against top shelf clubs. Toronto is not quite that yet. Take CHARLOTTE! |
12-16-15 | Arizona State +6 v. UNLV | 66-56 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show
Arizona State at UNLV 10:00 ET Sun Devils (+) over Rebels- After winning three straight including a win over No. 20 Texas A&M the Sun Devils where spanked 72-58 on Saturday by No. 4 ranked Kentucky. UNLV is 8-2 and has won five of their last six and look much improved then Dave Rice previous editions. Arizona State is couched by Bobby Hurley who was part of the Duke team that upset the Rebels in the 1991 Final Four at Indianapolis and UNLV coach Rice was a reserve on the Rebels back then. The Sun Devils who also have a quality win over N.C. State have played a tougher schedule and have more depth and experience. With a better shooting offense and balance ASU can win here. Take the SUN DEVILS! |
12-16-15 | Grizzlies +3.5 v. Bulls | 85-98 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
Memphis at Chicago 8:05 ET Grizzlies (+) over Bulls- Line-up changes have taken place for both clubs as they have removed big man starters for smaller quicker players. The NBA has become a copy-cat league as teams are beginning to follow the Warriors lead buy moving to a more outside game. The problem here is for the Bulls as Derrick Rose doesn't shoot all that well outside the paint while inserting Mike Conley into the line-up gives the Grizzlies an edge on the perimeter. Chicago is just 4-9 ATS at home while Memphis although they are struggling overall are 7-4-1 on the road. Take the GRIZZLIES! |
12-16-15 | Heat v. Nets +4 | 104-98 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 15 m | Show
Miami at Brooklyn 7:30 ET Nets (+) over Heat- After a quick start to the season the Heat have cooled-off as Dwyane Wade's scoring touch has eluded him and big man Hassan Whiteside's free throw shooting and lack of assists have hurt Miami. Brooklyn's over record is just 7-17 but they have been playing better basketball after a 2-13 start. The Nets have dropped their last two at home and this is a final of a six game home stand where they are 6-6 on the season and 7-4-1 ATS. Miami is just 3-5 on the road both straight-up and ATS. Look for the Nets to get it done here. Take BROOKLYN! |
12-16-15 | Hornets +1.5 v. Magic | Top | 98-113 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Charlotte at Orlando 7:05 ET Hornets (+) over Magic- The Charlotte Hornets are following the current NBA trend as they have gone to 'small ball' and it is working as they have four guards scoring in double figures while making 10 3-point shots per game. Orlando meanwhile is struggling in the back-court as Evan Fournier is averaging just 6.4 points and shooting 29.4 per cent the last five games. Interestingly enough the visitor won all four meetings last season with the Hornets allowing only 86.5 points in the last two meetings. Charlotte has been resting since Saturday and will be fresh for this encounter. Take the HORNETS! |

12-15-15 | Bucks v. Lakers +3.5 | Top | 95-113 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
Milwaukee at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Lakers (+) over Bucks- It was the Milwaukee Bucks that ended the Golden State Warriors winning streak on Saturday and they have had three days to pat themselves on the back. The Lakers are the only team to lose the Philadelphia 76ers and have only three wins in 24 games and are currently on a six-game losing streak ending an eight game road trip with loses to Houston and San Antonio by a combined 51 points. Although the Bucks defeated the Warriors they are just 2-10 straight-up on the road and are now the favorite. Much needed the Lakers get the win here. Take LOS ANEGELES! |
12-15-15 | Rockets v. Kings -119 | 97-107 | Win | 100 | 12 h 59 m | Show
Houston at Sacramento 10:00 ET Kings (-) over Rockets- The Kings will be without catalyst Rajon Rondo as they contemptuous point guard has been suspended for making slurs against gay NBA official Bill Kennedy. The struggling Rockets have defeated Sacramento seven straight times going 6-1 ATS and yet even without Rondo the odds makers have instilled the Kings as the opening line favorite. Granted they (Kings) are much improved under George Karl this season and Houston has been very disappointing this season but have defeated Sacramento twice already this season. This time the home club gets its revenge. Take the KINGS! |
12-15-15 | VCU +1.5 v. Georgia Tech | 64-77 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 52 m | Show
VCU at Georgia Tech 9:00 ET Rams (+) over Yellow Jackets- Something just doesn't look right when I see an ACC school playing at home opening a favorite of less then a long field goal. After failing against Florida State 76-71 the Rams believe that experience will help the here. Shaka Smart has moved on to Texas but VCU still plays a tough pressing defense they can take the Georgia Tech out of their game. The Jackets have in-state rival Georgia up on Saturday and might get caught lookiNg ahead here. Take VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH! |
12-15-15 | Cavs v. Celtics +2.5 | 89-77 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Cleveland at Boston 7:30 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- The Celtics who fell to the NBA Champion Warriors in double-overtime Friday night now host the other NBA finalist Cleveland Cavaliers. These two opened the NBA playoffs last spring and the Cavaliers swept the series but lost Kevin Love for the rest of the playoffs in Game 4 when Kelly Olynyk wrenched his shoulder. Cleveland is off a huge 111-76 win at Orlando on Friday while the Cavs are still under .500 on the road at 5-6 while the improving Celtics are 7-5 at home. Boston has won 7-of-10 and can keep this one close here. Take BOSTON! |
12-14-15 | Pelicans +3 v. Blazers | Top | 101-105 | Loss | -103 | 12 h 4 m | Show |
New Orleans at Portland 10:00 ET Pelicans (+) over Trailblazers- New Orleans is beginning to show signs of life as they won two-of-three at home before falling apart in the final quarter at Chicago losing 98-94. Portland like the Pelicans blew a fourth quarter lead to the Knicks (Best Bet winner) Saturday night and have lost three-of four. It appears that Anthony Davis has regained his All-Pro form as he had 22 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks Saturday. Portland has won six straight including opening night 112-94 in their series but they are built differently this season with Damian Lillard leading the way. New Orleans is just 1-11 on the road but the return of Tyeke Evans the birds are better and the Blazers are only 5-6 at home. This line is short which helps me believe the visitor has a chance to win here. Take the PELICANS! |
12-14-15 | Rockets v. Nuggets +5 | 108-114 | Win | 100 | 11 h 4 m | Show
Houston at Denver 9:00 ET Nuggets (+) over Rockets- The Denver Nuggets have only nine wins this season but two of those came at the expense of the Rockets who are just 12-12 at this point after appearing in the Western Conference finals last season. Houston has won seven of their last nine including a 29-point 126-97 win over the Lakers on Saturday. Denver meanwhile has won three of the four but are just 4-7 straight-up at home. The Nuggets believe they have the formula to beat Houston and will use it again tonight. Take the NUGGETS! |
12-14-15 | Raptors v. Pacers -5 | 90-106 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show
Toronto at Indiana 7:05 ET Pacers (-) over Raptors- These two opened the season in Toronto as the Raptors won 106-99 as a 5.5 points favorite for their fifth consecutive win in this series and they are 12-2 ATS in the 14 meetings. They are currently on a four game win streak including a rout of Philadelphia 96-76 on Sunday. The Pacers meanwhile are off a terrible performance at Detroit losing 118-96 on Saturday. Indiana realizes it has to buckle down on defense as they have allowed 123.5 points in their last four losses and they open a three-game home stand tonight where they are 7-3 on the year. Take INDIANA! |
12-13-15 | Grizzlies v. Heat -3.5 | 97-100 | Loss | -102 | 8 h 1 m | Show
Memphis at Miami 6:00 ET Heat (-) over Grizzlies- Both these clubs are on a slide as the Heat have lost three straight and Memphis has lost three-of-five all by more then 20 points including a 123-99 thrashing Friday night by Charlotte. Something will have to give here as Memphis has won eight straight against Miami and five straight at American Airlines Arena. The last time they were her the Grizzlies were favored by three and now they find themselves the underdog which should put a smile of the Heat faces. Take MIAMI! |
12-13-15 | Yale +7 v. USC | 56-68 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 1 m | Show
Yale at USC 4:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Trojans- At 5-4 this bunch of over-achievers may be the best the Ivy has to offer this season. This is the Bulldogs sixth road game as they logged almost 12,000 frequent flyer miles playing national powers Duke, SMU and Illinois. They return 10 letterman from a club that won 22 games last year and have the Ivy League player of the Year in Justin Sears. Yale can match-up inside as they have a plus 12.1 rebounding margin. Take the BULLDOGS! |
12-12-15 | Knicks +3.5 v. Blazers | Top | 112-110 | Win | 100 | 12 h 28 m | Show |
New York at Portland 10:05 ET Knicks (+) over Trailblazers- The Knicks were looking oh so much better 10 games ago when they were 8-6 but have now dropped four straight and eight of their last 10 and stand 10-14 on the season. Carmelo Anthony poor shooting and poor shot selection have had a negative effect and coach Fisher address the problem this week. Portland is off a 2-2 road trip with a win over the Suns last night in Phoenix while the Knicks were regrouping from a Thursday night 98-96 loss in Utah. The Trailblazers have won the last six in this series but this is a much improved Knicks squad. Take NEW YORK! |
12-12-15 | Spurs v. Hawks +3 | 103-78 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 29 m | Show
San Antonio at Atlanta 8:00 ET Hawks (+) over Spurs- The Spurs have had their way against Atlanta winning the last 10 meetings including an easy 108-88 win in late November in San Antonio. They are off a lackluster 22-point 109-87 win over the Lakers last night where they rested Tony Parker and gave Tim Duncan limited minutes. The Hawks are off a 107-94 road loss to Oklahoma City on Thursday and look to rebound after weak efforts from Paul Millsap and Al Horford. Look for Atlanta to post their first win over the Spurs since March of 2010. Take ATLANTA! |
12-12-15 | Pacers v. Pistons -105 | 96-118 | Win | 100 | 10 h 59 m | Show
Indiana at Detroit 7:30 ET Pistons (+) over Pacers- The Pacers ended a three game slide with an impressive performance against the Heat last night dominating the second have while outscoring Miami 49-35. Detroit got by the 76ers last night winning 107-95 ending a two-game losing streak. Indiana won the first meeting in Detroit 94-83 for their first win of the season after an 0-3 start when Andre Drummond had 25 points and 29 rebounds in the loss. This time the Pistons grab the ring and hold on. Take the PISTONS! |
12-12-15 | Florida +9.5 v. Michigan State | 52-58 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show
Florida at Michigan State 6:00 ET Gators (+) over Spartans- It was 15 years ago when Matine Cleaves led Michigan State to the National Championship over Florida and that team is being honored today while the Spartans host the Gators. This is give Florida the incentive they need to compete against the No. 1 team in the country. Michigan State is 10-0 and plays tough defensive while one of the top rebounding teams in the nation as they have held their last two opponents to 33 and 35 points. Florida is off a 66-55 loss to Miami-FL and is 0-2 against ranked teams so far this season. Today they at least get the 'cover.' Take the GATORS! |
12-12-15 | Kansas State v. Texas A&M -8.5 | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
Kansas State at Texas A&M 5:30 ET Aggies (-) over Wildcats- Texas A&M is off a loss at Arizona State while Kansas State is off a road win at Georgia. Beating the Bulldogs doesn't doesn't really mean much considering their weak backcourt and coaching. The Wildcats are 7-1 on the season with their only loss coming at the hands of North Carolina. The Aggies return home where they are 5-0 after losing two of their last three but are still No. 25 in the last poll. They have a week off after this contest so their sites will be concentrated on the Wildcats. Take TEXAS A&M. |
12-12-15 | North Carolina v. Texas +6 | Top | 82-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
North Carolina at Texas 5:15 ET Longhorns (+) over Tar Heels- North Carolina is 7-1 but has lost their only true road game at Northern Iowa but have reeled off four straight wins since then while Texas have won their last three and are 4-0 at home. The Longhorns under Skaka Smart is holding opponents to 37.3 per cent shoot while the Tar Heels are shooting at 50% for the season. Texas has one of the better big men in the country as Cameron Ridley averages 12.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks while shooting 72.4 percent from the field. Texas has enough to compete here. Take the points with the LONGHORNS! |
12-12-15 | Ohio State v. Connecticut -8 | 55-75 | Win | 100 | 2 h 7 m | Show
Ohio State at Connecticut 12:00 ET Huskies (-) over Buckeyes- Connecticut has had a bad habit of falling behind against quality competition and then fighting back but losing to Syracuse, Gonzaga and Maryland on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. Ohio State has won their last three (Mount St. Mary's, Grambling and VMI) after dropping four straight but they are 4-0 at home. This is Ohio State first true rod game of the season and I expect the Huskies big game competition and experience will help. Take CONNECTICUT! |
12-11-15 | Thunder v. Jazz +3.5 | Top | 94-90 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Thunder- Playing against Oklahoma City since the return of Kevin Durant cam be dangerous as they have won their last three in a big way. This is the first of back-to-back meetings between these two who have mirror home and away records where the Jazz are 5-4 as hosts and the Thunder are 4-5 on the road. Oklahoma City owns a crashing 111-89 win over the Jazz in Utah three weeks ago and I see the Jazz getting serious for this rematch. Take UTAH! |
12-11-15 | Warriors v. Celtics +6.5 | 124-119 | Win | 100 | 9 h 53 m | Show
Golden State at Boston 7:30 ET Celtics (+) over Warriors- I am not one of the guys who looks to beat the Warriors like so many other handicappers (see Pacers game), but I do like this spot. Golden State is now 23-0 and an amazing 13-0 on the road including 10-3 ATS and that is truly impressive. The Warriors are 5-0 on this current road trip and finish up at Milwaukee on Saturday and no team in NBA history has even gone 7-0 on a single road trip, but then again no team has ever opened the season 23-0. Klay Thompson turned his ankle last time out and the Warriors have enough fire-power to win without him but even if he plays his effectiveness is still is in question. Take BOSTON! |
